Well, you have to remember that Yuusuke and Keiko are childhood friends, and she's been virtually the only girl on earth for him, for a long time. I don't know that he'd necessarily look at Sachiko that way, at least not for a long while.

It's possible that he would develop a crush on her, but I'm not sure it would go deeper than that, or be more than temporary. What Yuusuke and Keiko have, has been built over a lifetime growing up together, and just because Sachiko is there for him when Keiko can't be, doesn't mean he's going to fall for her. I can see where you're coming from and all; I figure, though, that especially because you don't seem to WANT that complication, by no means do you have to create it.

I'd also consider for a while what Yuusuke would see as a "better life", and whether being more than friends with Sachiko would really fall under that. After all, he's loyal as hell, and would likely have severe problems with having feelings for someone who isn't Keiko (at least for the initial few months) because he'd feel like he's betraying her. He might also have objections to being involved with anyone on the team because he knows how dangerous it is, or because that's not what this part of his life is supposed to be. Love, cuddles, and domesticity belong somewhere outside the blood-and-guts portion of his existence. Normalcy is a big thing for Yuusuke, and as he's drifting further and further from it, I think he'd probably react by holding tighter to what he and Keiko have, even if it's not what he wants or what it used to be. He's searching for inner peace and trying to convince himself that humanity is relative -- I'm not sure that giving up his most solid link to said humanity for someone who's also involved with his demon-fighting would be his first choice.

(You'll note that I'm technically yoinking Yuusuke/Kurama, too -- but I'm not saying it HAS to work that way for him, only that it CAN, and it's one way you can take it if you don't want things to get too complicated with him falling for Sachiko. Characterization is always at least a little bit relative, and Yuusuke's complex enough that you can take him several potential directions without making him OOC in the slightest.)

Heh. Glad to be of help. I just always try to look at all the angles I can. A good exercise is to think of all the possible reactions a character can have, even the ones that seem horribly OOC at first, and see if you can justify each of them, using everything you know about the character and the situation you've put them in. Some of them, you can't, because they ARE horribly OOC, but you'd be surprised how many different ways people can go from the same starting point.

If you noticed- I've stayed away from this thread. I tend to do things with the characters that I think is alright at the moment,but if I go back and think on it....it seems OOC. I didn't want to give bad advice XD borderline mary is very good at giving advice. 3nodding
