At the sound of her voice, yet again, Bethany looked up, listening to the voice of Father Atkins with contempt. Why her? Her face was filled with digust but when he smiled she could not help but do what he asked without argument. There was something powerful in that man, whether holy or unholy, or something else entirely. She found herself doing what ever he asked, though no one on this earth aside from Devon had that power over her; and even then, Devon could not control her...

The sketch book and dulled pencil were shoved back into her bag and off towards the exit she went. Dodging and weaving in between the mix of people that seemed to be swarming around the area without a single care in the world. Didn't they know that life was too short to stand around and just stare off into space? Bethany shook her head as finally the mobile doors came into full view. Her nimble long legs took her outside, her eyes ever watchful for the man of whom she would rather not be around in the first place. And yet, he she was, looking for him! Bethany felt like one of those horny school girls, trying to find their ultimate crush. But Bethany was the farthest away from crush, and towards this man.

"You! El..al.. Allister." She said, not bothering to wave. Her voice rose up above the crowd though not as loudly as she had thought. Though some of the French Natives had taken to staring at her yet again, their eyes filled with annoyance. Bethany growled at them, " pousser le et tourner âne trouer! " Happy with their own disgusted looks, she made her way to Allister's side, and did not dare touch him. "Marshall... Father Atkins rented out some fancy smancy conference room here at the airport. He wants us to hear the information before we get a move on..." Bethany's gaze never befell him, just on the horizon that humanity seemed to be scattered around. How annoying.

"So yes. As you were, but they are waiting inside the conference room, it's A." Silence. Boy did she hate silence. "Yep. Well. Goodbye."

[[Robin Gann]]

Reading: Hunter Valentine
Method: His own unguarded mind

This reading has been prompted by Robin's focus on Hunter's mind. The images are blurry though it is clear on who she is watching. It is Hunter asleep in his bed. His shirt is off and piles of documents lay scattered across his comforter. There is a dog sleeping in a basket at the foot of said bed with the letters, "Tripod," etched into it's wood. The phone begins to ring loudly as ever, and Hunter wakes immediatly. His sleepy hands reach for the phone, knocking over his alarm clock as he does.

"Hunter Valentine." His voice is raspy. It is now that he picks up the clock from the floor, the time reads, "3:00 AM."

"Mr. Valentine?" The woman's voice is shaky, perhaps from the cold, but it is too soon to tell. "Please, can we talk?"

It is then that he sits up, his eyes now wide open, he is sure that it is fear that is making her sound so shriveled and small. "Who is this?" He asks, the voice is not one he had heard in his lifetime, of that he is sure.

"Mr. Valentine, my name is... Rachel. Let's leave it at that. Please. I need your help. Please. I beg of you." Rachel silenced afterwards.

"Yes, of course Rachel. What can I do for you?" Hunter reached into his side table drawer and retrieved his notepad, and began taking notes.

"You will be contacted by a Mr. Marshall Atkins, Father Atkins. I don't know if you know this, but he has ownership over a house, a very bad house." It is then that she takes a deep breath inward and continues. "He is going to contact you about meeting with him. And from your books and essays, I know that you will go. That you must go."

Hunter expressed his amusement and his curiosity. "Is this some kind of joke? Cause let me tell you I will not have some crazy b***h on my phone trying to play with my head!"

"PLEASE! Mr. Valentine, this is no joke! Please. I was in that house when it happened..."

This got his attention now.

"I was six. But I still remember. I still remember what they said... what they DID. They are going to find me soon, I know." The excitment in her voice raises, and you can tell that she is shifting about, looking around to make sure that she is not followed. "They turned off the lights..." At this she begins to tear up.

"Wait! Who turned off the lights? Where are you Rachel, I will come and get you, just go hide somewhere! Tell me where you are." Hunter hurries out of bed grabbing whatever clothes he could find laying around his seemingly tidy room.

"No. It's too late for that now..." Rachel sighs, fully crying now. "Just please... promise me that you will find my sister... Please? Go to the house and find my sister!" It is then that Rachel screams, bloody murder it seemed. The phone is dropped now, the loud thud booming into his ear. Hunter does not dare call out for her, that would get her in more trouble.

In the background he can hear her screaming a name, "Morgan," and then, nothing, the phone has shut off, nothing but dial tone....

Robin felt nauseas and sudden physic recoil. Something that was prevalent in his mind throwing itself at her as a result of her skimming. She almost tossed Hunter’s hand from her own and closed her eyes her jaw flexing in tight lipped anger. “Is there something you would like to tell me?” She practically spit out at him. “Anything at all?” She closed her eyes and shook her head. There it was, the thing she couldn’t see in front of her own ******** face was that he could see.

The ghost stuff matter not so much. If she got her boy shorts in a twist every time some crazy got a hold of her ranting and raving about their little horror story she have to stop wearing panties. What really upset her was that Hunter hadn’t told her. Was he expecting her to just figure it out, like some god damned puzzle master? She had made fool telling that his blindness didn’t matter to her and he wasn’t even blind anymore? And how in the ******** did that happen?

Her eyes snapped open and she grabbed her things. “Excuse me I am going to adjourn to the conference room.” She gave a nod to Marshall and did not even look back at Hunter before leaving the two men.

Father Atkins blinked a few times, and watched Robin storm off towards the conference room he had set aside for his visitors. Had he said something wrong? Something must have set her off so bad that it would cause her to act so rationally, and all he could do is stare at Hunter in amazement. He could not remember him saying anything that could have taken in a wrong way, but then again, Hunter and Robin knew one another from some place and time Father Atkins had not known about. He decided it was best to conclude that whatever happened, was none of his business.

"Perhaps, I should wait just a few moments before we... get going. This seems beyond my mortal control Mr. Valentine. Eradicate the wrong doing you have done to this woman sir. You don't want that kind of wrath upon you.." Father Atkins winced and stared off into the direction Bethany had traveled. Why was it taking so long for her to get back? Perhaps they were talking or something of that nature. There was not much he could do from here on out. Just wait.

Hunter had felt her hand reach for his own, but in the split of a second, it was gone. All that was left was the cold hated feeling that he had done something terribly wrong. He was careful not so mention things that refered back to the manor, and that b*****d Jastin, who got what was coming to him, whether he was the one who had killed him or not. What was it that could make her so mad that she would drop his hand as if it was covered in filth and decary.

'Anything at all?' Robin was a smart girl, and once again, he underestimated that intelligence. Had she been so keen on Hunter's ability to see now that she had lingered around him enough to know the difference? He was sure that he had kept that secret kept under lock and key, he would bet his life on it. Hunter looked at the hand that had been gently entranced with Robin's, and it was then that it hit him... How could he have been so stupid!

"Yes.. but of course, excuse me..." Hunter hurried his steps until he followed Robin all the way into the conference room, taking hold of her arm and forcing her to look at him. He knew that this would get him into serious trouble, but he would have to face the music one way or the other. "Listen. I am sorry I did not tell you. I wanted to tell you, I really did. Just not in the company of others. Please? Don't hate me for my mistakes, I make many of them. Please..." Hunter still held onto her arm lovingly, careful not to pinch her tender skin.

Robin raised her brow when he grabbed her. “You couldn’t have asked me to speak privately? Whispered it in my ear? Something anything? No you just let me make a fool out of myself about how it didn’t matter to me. Even if you were still blind, it wouldn’t have mattered what matters is that you’re honest.” She closed her eyes and swallowed hard. “I, you… we live dangerous, dangerous lives. Today could be all that we have and you just are not going to say important things to me? So let me ask you this Hunter, is there anything you want me to know? If we die tomorrow what will you regret not having said to me?” She asked her face flushed in anger.

“One thing I might tell you is that if you don’t let me go I have no qualms about dropping your a** right here.” She looked down at his hand on her arm. “I mean it Hunter.”

He let go of her arm, allowed his hands to drop to his side, as Hunter took a deep breath and shook his head. He had messed up royally, but there was nothing really that he could say that would make up for what he felt he did wrong. What he KNEW he did wrong. My measure of induction, he could say that this was not going the way he had rehearsed for hourse before arriving to this exact moment, and though she was angry, atleast, she was....

"Speak privately? Yes of course. I am sure I could have. If I wanted you to know that I was able to see you. And then, what would you have done?" Hunter glared. "You would have acted like the perfect little angel with your mannerisms and beauty and it would not be you, the real you." Hunter took a few steps back and then returned, as if he was doing his own melodramatic pacing. "I spent my courage to have this done, and for what? Well, if you must know, for you. I..." Hunter chose the right words. There was no need to make this woman and further angry than she was.

"I will regret nothing Robin. I never regret anything, not even now. With you angry? The fact is, YOU are angry. And you were happy, and you were estatic, and I loved every minute of that. I guess that makes me a fool however, because maybe I look too much to the small little things everyone takes for granted."

Hunter was not sad, nor angry, or anything at the moment, he was just Hunter. There was one thing he regretted, and that was thinking that being able to see was going to change his life for the better. In fact, it was only making things worse. If only it was an operation he could take back, he had seen Robin, the only reason he had done such a thing in the first place. "I better go let everyone know to come in. Before they start thinking things are bad." Hunter turned the door handle, and opened the door. "You know, I never thought you were making a fool out of yourself. I thought you were the most beautiful thing..."

Robin blinked away tears from her eyes. He really was a game player and she was just his favorite pawn. “You have fun here Hunter. Find someone else to play your games with, just don’t hurt Beth ok? She can’t take the heartbreak not like this.” She closed her eyes and raised the chain from around her neck and set it on the table. She swallowed hard and shook her head hopping in place rotating her neck like she was getting ready for a fight. “But if you ever even think my name again, I’ll tear that lying tongue out of your a**.” She said calmly her jaw set. Now she was ready, ready to leave.

She pushed past him through the door. “Marshall.” She nodded curtly to the older handsome man. “I don’t think that I can work on this case. You see I am rather busy women I am sorry to have wasted your time. When you see Beth, Devon, and Serena tell them I am sorry I missed them. Of course you may get in contact with my secretary at your leisure and I will be more than happy to pay you for the time I wasted.” Robin said evenly, but devoid of emotion as if she had merely shut down

Hunter could not believe what was happening. Here he was, confessing his undieing love for this woman, and she was blatently denying whatever he felt as lies and more lies. What was this world? How could it be so furious and yet behold the most lovliest of things in the palm of it's hand? Was he just another victem to the vast nothingness that eluded the lime light of society? Or was he merely mistaken by what the entire world really looked like? And it was merely his own imagination trying to fill in the gaps...

No. He was not about to let that happen to him again. Not this time. Instead of allowing her to walk away like she did an entire year ago, he was going to make her stay, whether she kicked and screamed, threatened him, who gave a s**t at this moment in time? What could she really do? Kill him?

Without realizing what he was doing, without thinking about the consequences he took hold of Robin's arm, having stormed to her wake and drug her back to the safety of that room, where he could say what he had to say before her nature took her away once again. Once the door was shut, he locked it, and moved her into the belly of a chair and stood above her.

"Listen here! I have spent every last DAMNED penny trying to make what was wrong with me right! And I did it, for none other than you! Hell! I never thought I would ever see you again! But some how some way, God or whatever, brought you back to me! And I AM NOT dear lady, going to allow you to just prance on out of here with that line of bullshit you thought you were going to leave me with!" Hunter did not glare nor point, merely stood. He could not stomach sitting down now.

"Fine! You want to leave? There is the ******** door!" Hunter pointed in the direction behind him. "You are going to have to kill me first if you think I am just going to let you! Now I did not tell you, big ******** mistake of mine thinking that perhaps I could take you to dinner or something. Hell, I dont know, you like and dont like so many things! God!" Hunter pulled away about to rip out his hair, returned to her once more. "You are SO CONFUSING!" Clenching his fists, Hunter sighed. "Fine. You know what I damn regret? I regret not telling you I love you before you got on that plane and took off. There! That's teh God honest truth. You do what you want with that. Accept it. Throw it away. Spit on it for all I damn care! But don't you EVER think for once second anything I tell you is a lie!"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2008 5:04 pm

“I never asked you to do that! You were already perfect, though it is a little flattering you would do that for me.” She looked up at him and took a deep breath. He was so handsome even when he was furious and ready to throw down. Maybe that is what she found so appealing, he was so fierce about his feelings he couldn’t be playing a game. Hunter Valentine really did love little ole her. Crazy, aggressive, over bearing but he loved her.

“Hunter I love you. I am sorry that makes me act crazy, but I sort of am, sans you. I do like and don’t like so many things, but I do like you! In the future you would find it prudent to ask what I do and do not like and I will answer you truthfully.” Robin breathed. She rose and placed her hands on his shoulders and looked him directly into the eyes. “For example I would like to go to dinner to with you, but no sushi and I am allergic to shelfish. Also it would be preferable if you inserted a kiss or tried to cop a feel here.” She said in a mask of all seriousness but trying not to giggle.

Oh God! She was a goddess. A frustrating one, but one none the less. Before his little outrage, Hunter was going to walk away, let her fly off into the sunset just a year earlier he could not see nor even comprehend. What good would that have done him? Went home alone, if he went home at all. Wondering what the rest of his life would be like now that Robin was no longer in it? I mean, it's not like she was the entire year they were apart, but he was always around her. Making sure that she was happy, though with her oddly changing moods, it was hard to pinpoint her true level of happiness. He could better say, he was making sure that she was safe....

"Done." Was all he said before he was upon her, emtionally, spiritually, and physically. His lips pressed to hers in an enclosure no bar could ever pry. His hands reached for the flesh that connected her thigh to her bottom and lifted her from the ground. She weighed next to nothing when it came to his strength, as he set her down upon the table and wrapped his hands about her waist as gently as he could muster. Good Gods how he wanted to do that for the longest time!
PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2008 6:04 pm

Robin kissed him back her eyes shut her hands wrapped around Hunter’s neck. Her body pressed into his with a raw need. Then she felt herself lift off the ground and she gasped into his mouth surprised. He was strong really strong, and the way he was man handling her was a little, hot.

As soon as she hit the table she fought not to tear his suit jacket off. First thing was first, she had to stop playing with his intoxicating little tongue ring. She painfully tore her mouth from his feeling her lips swollen from kissing him. “Hunter. There are a lot of people outside that door, and I am trying really hard to behave myself here.” She said breathlessly reaching in to peck the corner of his mouth. “Before we kiss again, you gotta take that ring out. It is amazing makes it hard to stop.”

Allister heard the girl call for him, it was time to go and figure out their mission, if you could call it that. He felt like a soldier, being briefed before they were shipped off to fight an unknown enemy. He felt like a tool, he jumped too easily at this thing, way too easily. It was kind of disturbing, to say the very least, that he was so eager to face the unknown. Why did he do it, though? He questioned it from the first time he found about the unnatural world of the supernatural. He framed it and still, he couldn't answer it.

He took one last drag of the cigarette, looked at the burning cherry and crushed it under his heel. He would try to give it up from this moment on, it was a horrible habit. He moved to the door and looked around for that girl that had called for him. Now, what was her name? He raked his brain and kept searching for a name to go with the face.

He saw her and started to jog to catch up, he would walk with her and play nice, for the time being. He stopped short and grinned from ear to ear. Time for a little sweet tooth action.

He came strolling up next to Bethany with a big grin on his face, a lollipop in his mouth. He looked like a ten year old who just got a new bike that he had wanted for years. He looked over at her and frowned, had he done something wrong? Oh crap, didn't he like, completely ignore her before? Now he felt really bad.

He reached into one of his cargo pockets and pulled out a cherry sucker, maybe she would cheer up. He held it out to her, hoping to make peace with such a simple gesture. He didn't want anyone not to like him, even if he wasn't the friendly type, it would be best to have no relationship, instead of a bad one.
Even if he didn't want one at all.

He pulled the lolli out of his mouth and looked at her, "Listen, about earlier...I'm sorry...I just...don't talk too much", he whispered as he offered the sucker again.

He felt completely horrid about ignoring her before, and he was trying to make things right.

At first Bethany stared down at the little red piece of solid sugar on a stick which was held between the threshold of his fingers. The natrual light that enveloped the airport danced about as it twirled, it was a lovely sight, it was her favorite color after all. How could she stay mad at him? It had nothing to do with his charm, personality, or anything of that nature. It was the sheer simple fact that little Bethany did not talk much herself, atleast not much these days. It would be hypocritical for the girl to subjugate this stranger to her wrath when she had little room to talk.

Her eyes still glued to the concrete floor, Bethany gently took the lollipop from his hand and unraveled the packaging, the little plastic falling into the trash, careful not to litter. "Thank you." She returned the gesture, not really knowing what else she could say. "It's fine. Don't worry about it. I don't talk much either." Bethany concluded, staring off into the direction she wanted to go. There was no reason to bother this stranger if he had no desire to talk to her. Perhaps this whole darn trip was a waste of valuable time she could be using to make a social life. Or begin to build one.

More people were staring at her, though she was certain it had something to do with that guy beside her. Bethany had heard bits and whispers of his famousness, but that didn't make him any better. He was just another face in this great big crowd we call a planet. "So yah. Thanks again." Bethany put the lollipop in her mouth, her bright red lipstick matching it to a tee. She raised her eyebrows once as if to conclude their conversation and left. There were other places she could be sitting while drawing without having to worry about the conversation she wasn't having with someone who didn't want to talk to her. However pretty he was, if she wasn't worth his time... so on and so forth.

It was then Bethany found a vacant seat away from the others in which she could draw in peace. She decided to wait for Devon and Serena before entering, that way they knew where she was. Her sketch book came completly out, and again she was drawing. Her only outlook in life.

Allister smiled when she took the sucker, well, maybe she wasn't mad at him, but she didn't seem to friendly in return. Just as he had been. He felt worse now, he had brought this upon them both, hadn't he? He put his own sucker back into his mouth and looked around at all of the people who recognized him.

"Great, just what I needed....", he whispered as she walked away. He had heard her speak, but he had missed most of it because some kid had approached and tugged on his shirt.

"Mister?", the little boy asked, "your Allister, right?", he continued. "My sister loves you, she has all of your Cd's, could I...uhh...have your autograph?". The boy turned bright red, "For my sister, of course!", he shouted, not wanting Allister to know it was secretly for him. "Huh?", Allister said, a bit surprised, "oh...yeah", he managed to say before he pulled a sharpie marker from his pocket and looked around for something to sign.

He pulled a peice of paper from his pocket, one of the stewardess had given him thier number before he left the plane, and he hadn't had time to throw it out yet. He was kind of glad he hadn't now. he signed his name quickly and smiled, the told him it was for a 'Jacob', to which Allister laughed and signed away. He handed the kid the paper and turned away, he didn't want to do anything more with those people, he had his sights set on one person and one person alone. He looked around for Bethany, and smiled when he found her off by herself, drawing in a sketchpad.

Maybe she was more complex than she had let on when she spoke, though, he hadn't heard more than, she didn't speak much either. He walked a bit closer and took a seat next to her. "Listen...Bethany...that is your name right?...", he began to say, it was the most he had spoken in a long time. These people were horrible, they made him different. What the hell?! "It's not my norm, but...I would like to talk, as long as you would too", he explained.

He looked down at her pad and smiled, maybe he could strike something up about art. He could ask her about her drawings, maybe tell her about his music, he wasn't sure how to do this. It wasn't like he was a natural at this sort of thing, not by a long shot. Though, he was giving it his best, maybe he would find a good friend in this whole thing. Maybe that was what the girl from the shop had meant about going to find 'her'. Maybe Beth was supposed to be a close friend to him or something. He wouldn't know until this thing was all over, right?

He looked over at her and rested his head in both of his hands, he could only hope she would talk back with him. He was out on a ledge right now, and she was the only one who could stop him from falling to his doom. Well, that might have been a little...melodramatic, he was risking a bruised ego, that was all. Right? He wasn't sure why he was fishing for words with a girl, who much like him, didn't like to talk too often.
