Edward nodded, "And you were not objective to the ruling, If I recall... Cyreth was executed in a very ceremonial and traditional manner. You, however, have not betrayed us at any given point, which is on your record. As trials go, you should only have the animosity of others to fear..."
"Yes. As you know, we have many tainted members still with us. Marie instantly springs to mind." Moreau said, pushing up his glasses.
"As well as Moreau here..." Edward added, watching the doors for newcomers.
---
Obi landed safely in his stables. he pulled down a little microphone, "Oh Maarieeee! We have another little trooper headed for the castle!"
"In the middle of WINTER?!" came the reply, "She must be one hardcore prospect, or a suicidal idiot!"
"Yes, well, what troop of weres are out tonight?"
"I believe the forest is Bloodmaw tribe this week..."
"Ooo... if she even lives, she'll hit the ranks!" Obis smiled to himself, "I bet you ten she lives."
"Not fair. I don't see them until they arrive, you do! If you're betting she lives, you've probably got some thin, cute little girl... Hiding a huge grudge and a load of weapons."
"Oh yeah... she's arcane. I sensed it. She's probably got enough gear to kill the entire Bloodmaw tribe."
"Damn Obi... where do you find these people?"
"You know me, Marie, I'm an excellent judge of character."

Elise woke up. She quickly tapped into her magic and was satisfied it was up to its full potential. Anyone messing with me is gonna have a nasty surprise. She grinned to herself. The first few snowflakes were falling from the sky. So pretty and serene it's a shame that I've got a timed test. I should visit this place - If I survive. Elise looked around and studied the paths. Some paths were more worn down than others but it didn't give any clues which would be best to take. She opened her golden compass and groaned. That's not right, I remember the sun had set roughly to my right but the compass shows the west is roughly to my left. Head East to go West... Elise decided to take the path closest to her, the one furthest right of the others. Before setting off she decided to puzzle over one more thing: when she was told "water is safe." The water around here would have come from the mountain streams further down South, I highly doubt they would be poisoned. He obviously wouldn't hint at something so obvious. Wait, what about the resurrected dead? Elise's eyes widened in realization of this thought. Of course! The dead can't cross running water, making it safe! She quickly whipped around and scanned the trees for any movement. The resurrected dead feared sunlight, just like vampires but it didn't kill them. They were most active at night. The snow was falling faster and there was no chance of any sunlight peeking through the dark clouds. Elise quickly opened her suitcase, adding another weapon to her coat's multitude of pockets - a bell. Hehehe the resurrected dead hate the sound of bells. She then set off down the path, her senses on high alert.

The howls of the Bloodmaw pack echoed through the forest. They were on the hunt, and wanted blood.
---
Obi brought out his orb as he plopped the meat into a grinder in the stables. (he kept the drakes on a ground meat diet to keep them from biting any Organization riders.) He watched, grinning, at Elise. She wouldn't sense his scrying, Obi was far too powerful to be felt. He just wantwed to watch this girl make her way to the Organization base.

Elise's blood almost froze, not from the cold, but from the distant howling she heard. She panicked. Argh, werewolves! Not when I'm so weak. She whipped around but there was no movement in the trees. The howling is only distant it's unlikely they'll find me here. She reasoned herself. Elise slipped the silver revolver into her right hand, whilst carrying the suitcase with her left. Thank goodness for this path, I would probably be making a ruckus if I had to make my own. The snow was falling heavily and it made Elise wary. She couldn't see very far. Elise summoned some magic to warm herself up. Some werewolves were known to be able to detect the usage of magic, but it was worth the risk. The werewolves howled again, even closer than earlier. Elise estimated there were roughly five of them, from the number of howls. It was then when she heard a heavy panting that she knew she was in trouble. Elise whipped around and saw the dark figure of a werewolf.

Kirra frowned slightly, she didn't like to be reminded of that trial, where she had refused to even look at Cyreth. She looked down at the floor and didn't say anything.

Elise's mind raced. She noticed that the werewolf was walking with a slight limp, and seemed quite ill. The fur was matted and it was very skinny. Don't let this fool you. It might be faking an injury to give you a false sense of security. She told herself. Elise wasn't sure whether this werewolf was a lesser, greater or perfect werewolf. It will still be accountable for its actions, if it's teamed up with the other werewolves. No penalty here if I kill it. The werewolf was coming closer, it picked up some speed and leaped at Elise, fangs bared. Elise fell back, and kicked the werewolf in the ribcage. It howled in pain and the wolves howled back. The sickly werewolf fell onto the snow. Elise quickly jumped to her feet and grabbed her father's old hunting knife and cautiously approached the fallen werewolf. Oh shoot, got to finish up with this wolf more trouble is on its way. She was already an arm - breadth's away from the werewolf, when it stood up. Elise automatically kicked it back down and swiftly sliced its throat. One down a few more to go. The werewolf's blood stained the surrounding snow a dark red. As she caught her breath, the rest of the werewolves had found her.

Serenity slept soundly after placing her gold coin into a hidden place, she was dreaming of course about Edward. A smile appeared across her face as she continued to dream. "Oh.....Edward...." She whispered a little in her sleep.

Edward nodded to Kirra, "Your loyalty will be taken into account over the course of this trial. When the seats are filled, we can begin."
---
Obi smiled, "good form, that one. the reliance on weaponry shows that she'd be better with arcane backup, but should she make it, we could just have a prodigy on our hands."

Elise saw two werewolves, walking on all fours. They were growling, fangs bared. They stepped forward, Elise stepping back. The werewolves kept on advancing. She turned her head slightly and knew that she was surrounded. There were roughly five werewolves, excluding the two that had forced her into their ring. I can't rely on my revolver, it barely has enough bullets for each werewolf, and the gun doesn't pack that much of a punch. I'm going to have to use magic. The cogs in her mind suddenly meshed together. Elise had a plan and it better work, or else she would be lying down with her throat ripped out. Her eyes turned the telltale purple and she summoned her magic, about to burst out. I'm crazy, going to use wind magic, I haven't even mastered both light and dark magic. The circle of werewolves seemed to be hesitating, as if to await an order. Their heads were turned to the large werewolf, at the brink of her peripheral vision. A purple mist flowed from Elise's hand. To the werewolves, it reeked of powdered wolfbane. The mist swirled, enveloping Elise, until she was out of sight. The werewolves were agitated, waiting for the order to attack the girl. The lead werewolf made a a sound similar to a bark, and the werewolves ran and leaped at the swirling, green cloud.

Obi clapped, "bravo! now that is clever!" He leaned in, "looks like this Bloodmaw pack is up against a good prospective!"

The purple miasma of wolfbane was leaking out of Elise's left hand, she was building up the wind magic in her right. Alright, I'm going to knock those werewolves, and possibly myself senseless, as soon as I see or feel the first paw through this mist. The first werewolf entered the mist. A few more moments and the decision will come... She immediately felt the scratch of a werewolf's paw on her back and Elise released the energy in her palm with all she had. The surrounding air, around Elise and her suitcase was immediately displaced, the werewolves swept back. It was just like being hit by a bomb, having an instant death. Bones splintered and internal organs destroyed, nothing had survived except for the girl standing in the midst. Elise stood there, then felt dizzy, she knew she must have had put too much energy and magic into the air displacement. Oh shoot, there's barely any magic left... She blacked out and fell back into the snow.

"Pity. she needs training... though she'll be fine the next few hours. Bloodmaw packs tend to have a territory of a few miles, so there's going to be nothing heading towards her...

Elise's eyes fluttered open. She had been knocked out for the whole night. The girl sat up and looked around, ready to jump up at the first sign of movement. There was none, just the swirling snow. She didn't dare tap into her magic, knowing how much had been drained the evening before. The morning light went through the clearing, that Elise's wind magic had created. A nearby tree was flattened and the werewolves' bodies littered the surrounding area. She was aching everywhere and was feeling nauseous, her back throbbing where the werewolf's claws gouged into it. About time I got out of here, this place reeks of blood and other avenging werewolves would be after me. She tried to stand up, staggered a bit, then picked up her suitcase as a support. She wouldn't be able to move very far but it was a must. Elise looked around, she was hopelessly lost. The night's snow had covered up all her tracks and she had strayed to far from the path. Climbing over a snow drift she walked Westward.
