"Yeah," Alice agreed. "So...they would have to go through the jungle gym on the way to the tree? Makes sense." She noticed Skitty looked approving; she'd always liked playgrounds, and probably thought it would be even more fun now. Alice tried to think of anything they had missed, but didn't find anything. "Have we got everything?" she asked Miomoko to be sure. "I think we should be able to start."

"I agree." Miomoko replied as she dragged a line on the ground with her foot, where Skitty and Kian would begin their race. "Start here you two, and make it through the playground, however you can and think is the fastest wihtout avoiding it, and whoever reaches the tree on the other side first, wins. All clear?" She stood next to the line.
Kian listened to Mio and Alice talk about the course, and when the line was drawn in the ground, he immediately walked over to it. Then Miomoko began speaking again.
"Ready!?"
Kian shook his legs a little bit quickly.
"Set!"
Kian bent his front legs so his upper body and head were closer to the ground than his lower body, and back paws.
"Go!"
Kian heard that last word, and pushed his back paws off the starting line with all his force.

Skitty had been listening to the rules of the race being set out, and when the line was drawn, she walked up to it and got ready to run. She lowered her body to the ground, her tail twitching in anticipation. Skitty wasn't that competitive, but she always at least tried to win. She knew Kian was fast, but that didn't mean she couldn't win, and she was definitely going to try.
As soon as Miomoko said "Go!" Skitty leapt into action. She jumped over the starting line, her paws hit the ground and she started running as fast as she could towards the playground.
"Good luck!" Alice called after the two Pokemon, giggling at how serious Skitty seemed.

Kian and Skitty were almost dead even for speed, but Kian had pushed for that little extra. That was what he was known for in the rangers, was his speed, so at least in the running part, he needed to be faster. He wasn't paying full attention to where he was running, as much as how fast, and then realized that he was approaching the round, metal playground piece, that spun. He jumped hoping to jump on it, and run right off to the other side, but when he jumped, it began to spin, and he lost his balance falling off of it, and into the sand. Kian got up, and shook the sand out of his ears, and then turned back into the right direction and continued running, he wasn't off to the best of start.

Eevee tugged Arashi's shoes lace in attempts to gain her attention,
"What's wrong?" Arashi asked.
Eevee looked at the others racing. She seemed almost like she was excited but also not had a hint of reluctance toward something.
Arashi didn't understand. She took Eevee in her arms and walked toward the race to watch. She didn't really know what to do and was suddenly feeling quite shy to join in or ask to train with anyone. She simple held Eevee in her arms as the two watched.

Skitty noticed with surprise that she was running almost as fast as Kian, but she was still just a little too slow. Kian reached the metal spinning thing before she did, but fell off it when it started to spin. Skitty saw this and was thinking about avoiding the thing altogether, but she was already running at it and it was too late to stop.
She ended up having to jump onto the round metal piece as well, and as it spun she was worried that she was going to topple over and fall off. However Skitty had a good sense of balance and she was able to run to the other side without falling. She took a big jump off the side of the spinning thing and started running again, towards the seesaw this time, hoping she would be able to pass Kian.
Hanging back around the starting point, Alice looked over her shoulder and noticed Arashi and her Eevee had come to the park as well, and were watching the race.
"Hey, you two," she said. "Did you come to do some training?"

Kian had stopped for a second to watch Skitty, to see if she would fall off as well, but did not, and with a perfect leapshe passed Kian. He was was caught completely off guard, but began running almost instantly towards the seesaw as well. He made it there at the same time as Skitty, but this time, payed no attention to her. This was another balance challenge, soshe would most likely made it past this one before he did as well. He jumped onto the seat closest to him that was already on the ground, and ran up to the middle, where he had no time to slow down, and continued to run straight up, luckily there was just enough weight to begin pushing the side down, and just as it landed on the ground Kian did a summersault down the seat onto the ground and continued running. He was amazed with himself for making it all the way across that one without falling... Untill the end anyways, but he had made it look like he had done the summersault on purpose.
Miomoko noticed the girl and Eevee walk up. Alice began talking with them, instead Miomoko watched the two Pokemon race. She shook her head as she watched Kian use his speed more than his brain.

"Wha-?" Arashi jumped a bit. She never expected to be talked to or called out in anyway. But she was happy some one was putting an interest in her.
Eevee's freak out of the unexpected addressing of the two, darted in a figure 8 up, down, and around Arashi's body like a squirrel does with a tree as Alice spoke to them.
"What are you a Pachirisu?" Arashi muttered as she snatched out and grabbed Eevee at the right moment. She unfluffed her brown and cream fur and then gently set her on the ground and looked at Alice and smiled as she called, "You bet!" but she didn't know what to do, "But, what do I do?"

Skitty's jump had let her pass Kian, and as she got closer and closer to the seesaw she was trying her best to stay ahead. However, she didn't stay ahead for long; Kian caught up to her, and he made it to the seesaw at the same time she did. She wasn't that worried about the seesaw though; if she was able to keep her balance on the spinning thing, a seesaw would be no problem, she thought.
She jumped up onto the closer end of the seesaw and ran along it like Kian was doing. She made it to the other end of the seesaw, and was about to jump off when it started moving down. The sudden movement startled Skitty, as she wasn't expecting there would be enough weight to push it down. However she couldn't afford to stand around thinking about it, otherwise she would lose time. She jumped off the seesaw when the end touched the ground, just as Kian performed an impressive somersault down the seat and onto the ground. They both continued running. It looked like they were even again; Skitty couldn't tell which one of them was ahead, if either one of them was ahead at all. It looked like the jungle gym was next, and Skitty ran towards it at full speed.

Back at the starting point, Alice laughed a little, not unkindly, at Arashi and Eevee's reaction. It looked like she'd startled both trainer and Pokemon, though Eevee freaked out a bit more.
"You can do whatever you want, I think," she replied. "Skitty and Kian were practicing their attacks before, so you can do something like that. What moves does Eevee know?" she asked, out of curiosity. Quickly she looked back at the race, to see how the two Pokemon were doing.

Kian lowered his head a little to gain speed. He began sprinting as fast as he could towards the jungle gym, and decided at the speed he was going there was no point in slowing down for a jump or anything, so he ran straight towards the slide that led into the jungle gym. He was running so fast that he was up the slide in no time. Once up he continued to run, not exactly sure where to go.
Miomoko watched Kian run up the slide, "Nice move." She said quietly to herself, and then turned her attention to the other two for a quick moment, "If you're going to train, you'd better start soon. The test is probably going to begin soon." Then she looked back at the race.

Skitty ran towards the jungle gym, trying to spot a way to get into it. She decided she didn't want to run up the slide, and ran around the side of the jungle gym looking for another way up. She found a few steps that led up into the jungle gym and got up that way instead. However Kian had run up the slide at high speed, and got there before her.
She ran to the other end of the platform she was on, looking for a way down. She could try just jumping down, even though it was quite high up, she might still be able to make it. She could see the slide Kian had come from, some kind of vertical pole, and monkeybars on this side. Skitty didn't really like any of those options, but there was a kind of plastic tunnel right in front of her, which probably led to a different part of the jungle gym. She ran through the tunnel, hoping to find a better way down.

((OoC: Three things. First if you're having difficulty working into the group, Arashi, you could try talking to Gaddwick some more. He may not be able to go outside but he might be up for answering some questions or discussing Pokemon in General.
Second: Your race is looking pretty close. If you need an impartial judge to call it just let me know and I'll pick a winner.
Third: People should consider their upcoming holiday schedules. I understand people may be visiting family or other issues but if you're going to be gone try to leave a message before you go. FDD's warning in the chat thread was perfect. She let us know when she would be gone and that there would be a very slim chance that she might be able to check in.))

((OoC: Two things Deathsye. First the group is currently split. Miomoko, Alice, and Arashi are all outside across the street training while Gaddwick is inside maintaining the Ranger recruitment booth. He's the one you should talk to. Second, usually the Rangers provide the Uniforms for the recruits so its a little odd that you already have the uniform. However if you like you can explain it by saying you didn't know and picked it up second hand earlier.))

A man walked up to Gaddwick with his Larvitar partner walking beside him. His very presence seemed to intimidate though he was doing little but walking past the others. His Larvitar looked at the other pokemon a bit more curious about what they were doing there. He remember his trainer, Hiro, explaining to him that they needed some shelter in the world but the Rangers was a risky way to go if their past was ever brought up.
"I'm here to apply for the Rangers." he said looking at the younger person.
