Liz cried out and pulled her wrist towards herself, pulling Riley along with it. "Foul little beast!" She leapt forward to bite Riley's hand.

Kara turned and saw the panther-beast. "NO!" She reached into her pocket and grabbed Jake's stabilizer. "Stay back!" She felt the burning in her legs and took a step back. Ow! This must be from running so far! It hurts! She held the stabilizer up in front of her. If it lunges, it'll pierce itself. I wonder if when Riley said that they make them special, it means that side effects could happen if you took the wrong one.

Riley screeched in Pain as sharp teeth pierced her sking. Her pupils turned to slits and her sharp fangs grew even sharper as her animal instincts began to take over. Howling in rage, she sank her fangs into Dr. Liz's shoulder, feeling her warm blood start to pour out. She quickly pulled back. "That's what you get for all these years."
The Panther merely smiled a twisted sort of smile. "Oh, I don't have to do anything but wait." She said, sitting on her hind legs. "But for now, let's make small talk. I'm Tala; the first successfull experiment that was more than half an animal. I was visiting here from Kenya and the Doc found me, not that I'm complaining. What's you story?" She asked. 'Go ahead, she thought, 'use up what little oxygen you have left.'

Liz bit harder into Riley's flesh. She could feel the owl DNA forcing her to flee. "Wiwel bwack!" She released and flapped the wings on her back. She rose into the air and landed on one of the lights. "I won't be the one to take you apart, Riley. But you've just dug Kara's grave!" She flapped once more towards her lab, leaving Marcus to the fight. If that brat gets away, Marcus' experiments will be shed to the light.

Kara felt the burning in her lungs. "Ungh!" She nearly collapsed from the pain. She remained defiantly upright and shouted at Tala. "Why are you helping them?! They mutated you into a freak! I want to get away and stop this! Why won't you help me?! They're hurting innocent kids! They-" She stopped and felt the burning overwhelm her. She could hear a splash. W-water! I need water!! She made a final sprint and leapt for the water, just before feeling the burning stop. Her legs were gone, fins replacing them. Her neck had a permanent gill structure. "No..."

Irro felt anger rush up. She noticed that her hands had become flippers. Oh, no! The DNA settled! I'm going to be a seal! But...but... They must have modified that stabilizer so that it neutralizes side effects but the transformation still happens! What if...? "Riley! I have to find Kara! The stabilizer has been re-formulized! She must be a fish by now! We have to run!"
Jen watched as Irro escaped from her grasp. Then she came to her senses and started hammering the lock. Then she realized that Irro had accidentally left the key in the lock. "I've got you now." She muttered as she let herself out. "Liz! Find Kara! I've got Irro!"

Riley howled angrily, rushing to towards the open door. She stopped as she felt the sunlight hit her skin. She hadn't been outside in years. Almost immediately, Rileys fangs and claws shrank to their original size, but her eyes remained feral. "Irro! Find something to shock the DNA! Something that would make you stop and take a step back! It hasn't fully set yet!" She screamed behind her, rushing away from the building. She picked up Tala's scent and growled in disgust before finally reaching a clearing.
Tala turned, seeing Riley behind her. "Well well, look who's come to play." She growled happily, standing up. She turned to the water, seeing Kara's tail. "You're mine now!" She howled, leaping into the air. Tala was thrown off course by Riley barreling into her side. "KARA! RUN!" She screamed.

Kara Swam in the river the burning was gone but the pure shock almost made her go numb. She swam quickly knowing what would happen if she didn't, but she didn't feel the need to. Her memories of her human life flittered through her mind. The shocking memory of her parents telling her they were moving, made her snap back into reality. She swam faster and hoped that what she was doing was right.

Liz flew over to the river. She saw Tala wrestling with Riley. "Good girl, Tala!" She scanned the water and followed the river, searching for Kara. "Come here you wretch!"

Riley had the upper hand. She put a gash across Talas face, almost wretching when she sliced her eyes. Tala howled, tears and blood running down her black fur. Riley scratched her nose as well before lunging off, following Liz form below.
Dr. Marcus ran out the door, bolting it behind her; no one else may escape. She rushed ttown the hill, stopping at Tala laying on the ground. Tala's fur was matted with blood. "Where are they?" Dr. Marcus yelled. Tala pointed a shaking paw in the direction RIley went, and Dr. Marcus ran angrily after them.

Irro looked around wildly. It must be in the lab! I've got to find something to shock the DNA, at least for a while. Irro ran into the lab and started breaking everything that wasn't what she was looking for. She found a vial of greenish-gray slime labeled "DNA Shock Antidote" and a beaker of smoking blue smoke labeled "DNA Freezer". Which do I take?! I'll bring a bit of both! Irro thought wildly as she grabbed 6 sryinges and filled 3 with the slime and 3 with the smoking solution. Enough for Kara, Riley and me. This had better work. She stabbed herself with a syringe of blue stuff and Irro dashed outside as quickly as she could.
Jen thought Irro had gone with Riley and ran outside after Dr. Marcus. "Irro, where are you?" She said menacingly. She heard a sound behind her and turned around sharply. "Irro. There you are." She whispered. And she pulled out her tranq gun and shot a dart at Irro. Irro screamed. But Irro ran doggedly as fast as she could toward the river. She knows that water nullifies these tranq darts! Plus, she's the seal! "Oh, no you don't!" Jen yelled, taking off her heels and running barefoot. "You'll never get away!"

Kara made it to a lake, but it was a dead end. "Now what?!" She yelled desperately.

Liz was gaining on Kara. "Get back here!!" When she saw Kara enter the lake, Liz laughed with triumph. "You're done for, little fish!"

Jake groaned and shook his head. "Ow..." He rubbed his neck and felt ridges on it. "Huh?!" He felt again. He felt... Gills!! "No! I've been mutated!!" Jake tried to stand up but collapsed. His feet were sperarated webbed fins. "I'm like... Kara..." He felt like he'd just been punched in the gut. "Kara..." He didn't realize it at the time, but he realized he liked kara the moment he met her. She was strong, caring, and had a lot of courage. She was also really pretty. "Man. I'm sooo screwed." He stood up and managed to balance on his fins. They were separate apendages. "Great... I'm a fish dude..." he walked over to the door. Jake pushed on the handle but it didn't budge. "I'm trapped! Ugh!" He turned and saw a pool of shallow water. His skin felt dry and itchy. "Can't hurt..." He stepped into the pool and realized it was deeper than he thought. He swam a little and found a vent. It hung by a single screw. "Looks like this area wasn't done! Thank you, lazy science geeks!" He pulled the vent cover off and set it aside. Jake took a deep breath and dived in through the water.

Riley ran angrily up a tree as quickly as she could, leaping from branch to branch until she was about even with Dr. Liz. With a final lunge, she landed on Liz's back, trying to knock her out of the sky.
Dr. Marcus stopped at the lake, watching Riley lunge at Dr. Liz. she pulled a tranq gun out of her lab coat pocket, shooting one into the water. She pulled out a remote, pressing a button and immediately sevedral half-fish teens appeared. "Whoever finds the girl will be returned to normal and all memories of The Facility erased!" She yelled. They all lept eagerly into the water, searching.

Kara swam to the edge and hauled herself out of the water. "Ungh!" She saw one of the fish-teens make a swipe at her tail. "Back off, freak!"

Jake swam through the tunnels, they were dark and had a fast current. He mostly darted around the corners. He saw some light and swam to it. He poked his head out of the water, into a cleaning facility. "Ugh. That's a horrible smell." He pulled himself out and tried to flex his toes, er... His fins. To his surprise, they morphed back to their human shape. He touched his toes and felt the skin again. "No scales. Whew!" He sighed with relief, then remebered what he was doing. "Where do I go?" Jake stood up and looked around. He spotted a large metal door. "Wonder where that leads..."

Irro jumped in the water. Immediately, the pain in her neck went away. She saw her flippers becoming hands and wrenched the dart out of her neck. I've got to find Kara. I saw those teenagers. They're dangerous. A few were here when my father worked for Marcus. Irro swam as fast as she could meanwhile trying to force her DNA back into seal form. Because of the solution she had taken, it took a lot of her energy. She finally got to the lake and started spalshing and hitting the fish-teens as hard as she could. Got to get them away.
Jen saw Dr. Marcus and ran up to her. "Dr. Marcus, do you have an extra dart for Irro? I... uh... accidently grabbed the water nullifying darts."
Irro saw Riley up in a tree. "Riley, I have an antidote in my jacket. Grab it and run! Kara and I will catch up as soon as we can! Leave Liz. She's not worth it as an owl!"

Liz punched and kicked at Riley. She managed to stay in the air, barely. "Get off you pathetic mutt!"

Riley Growled angrily at Liz. "I'm not s mutt you pathetic excuse for a woman!" she yelled, digging her claws into Liz's back before jumping into the lake below and onto one of the fish-teens, who cried out in pain. Riley felt her stomach lurch as the girl's spine snapped with a sickening crack, and heaved into the water.
Dr. Marcus glared angrily at Jen before sighing and pulling a vial out of her pocket. "This is my last one for Irro, but I do have something else up my sleeve." she handed the vial to Dr. Jen and pulled out a large capsule, popping it open and tossing it into the water. Immediately, a prupl smoke-like substance poured out, quickly filling the water. She pulled out another one and tossed it into a tree, where it began pouring out the purple substance again. Dr. Marcus stood, smiling.
Riley stared in horror as the purple gas surrounded her. She looked up, but her vision blurred. All around her the other teens were falling into a deep sleep, the gas in the water attacking their nervous system; oh how she hated this. Riley quickly swam to the side of the lake before her vision blurred and she slipped out of conciousness.

Kara scrambled away from the lake edge. She pulled herself on her hands, dragging her tail in the mud. "Nnngh! Not again!!"

Liz felt one of her wings drip with blood. "I won't be the one to punish you Riley. But Kara's just entered my world of pain." She flapped her slashed wings and landed in front of Kara. "Hello, my little fish. So much trouble for a troubled youth."
~
Kara stared in horror at Liz. No!! Not like this!! It won't end like this!!! She thought desperately how to escape without entering the purple gas-covered lake, as her tormenter grabbed her arm. Liz stabbed a tranq into her veins. "AGH!!!!"
~
Jake pushed open the heavy door and saw a darkening forest. He looked out at a cloud of purple smoke. "Kara..." He felt the crippling sensation of ultimate defeat. He shook his head roughly and stepped outside. He closed the door and followed the wall until he was facing the other direction from the smoke. "I'm going home." He started running as fast as he could. "I'm going home, but I'll help the others home too." He disappeared into the forest. Thinking not of the facility, not of the experiments, not of the painful needles, but of the brave girl who tried. The girl he managed to fall completely for after a brief encounter. "I'll help you, Kara."
{Wow... I kinda retched a little bit while writing that. I should write a love story just to see how long it'll take for me to quit after the pure corniness... confused }
