"Er..." Reyson scratched at his head flustered, "Well...y'know...they blush at me cause um...they have a crush on me I guess." Ah crud. What did he get himself into?! Now he was cornered and Luke would probably find out that he was lying. He quickly changed the subject. "Yeah. You're right. Maybe I should show them my magic. Maybe they'll be interested." he wondered what kind of magic would interest girls anyways. They were such alien creatures at times.
"Have you ever tried to turn water into ice?" Reyson pointed at the watery arch. "Maybe you're good at that too." Reyson formed tiny water droplets and flung them at the arch.

Luke frowned slightly. He was starting to wonder if the kid was talking as much BS as Luke had been earlier. He smirked a little, but left it alone. If the kid was lying and he pointed it out, he'd have to reveal his own lies too. Not about to do that! "Ice? No, I haven't." He cocked his head at the arch of water he had. Raising the water that was arched into the air, he tried to change it. About half of it froze before the iced part broke and shot off. His physical reflexes still quicker than his magical reflexes at the time, he dropped the water and yanked himself and Reyson flat to the ground as the large chunks of ice sailed over them. Looking at a newly dented tree behind them, he looked at Reyson with a very hot and red face. "Maybe some other time." He said, sitting back up and clenching his hands into fists from embarassment and irritation at his amateur skills, glaring viciously at the river.

Reyson felt himself tumble to the ground as he watched the ice shards over their heads. He slowly sat up trying to shake the feeling away. "Sorry about that..." Reyson pawed at the grass. "I guess I shouldn't have mentioned that to you..." He decided he shouldn't recommend other techniques to Luke until he mastered water. Reyson looked at the damaged tree and patted it quietly asking for forgiveness.

Still irritated, Luke mearly waved off Reyson's apology. "Not your fault." He muttered, sitting completely still. To calm down, he did what he alsways does. Picking up a ball of water, he started making shapes and figures again. He used his thoughts to mold the water instead of his hands, which were still clenched in his lap.

Reyson stared at Luke wondering why he was so angry. Was he embarrassed that he wasn't skilled with ice yet? Reyson squatted down and followed what Luke was doing with the water. 'Interesting...' he thought looking at what the water was slowly forming into.

With his concentration focused, Luke was already feeling calmer. Not exactly better, just calmer. In front of him, the water was taking a smoother form. Four deer legs, chubby child-like body, short tail, and a round face with short flowing hair. He gazed thoughtfully at this slightly larger copy of his carvitaur ward, Vesna. "That's Vesna." He said before Resyon could ask, the affection for the cervi obvious in his voice. "I found her when she was a baby and she kinda got stuck to me."

Reyson copied Luke's figure watching it take into the shape of a...child? Reyson frowned wondering what Luke was actually making. He turned to Luke. "Vesna?" where did he hear that before? Oh yeah. He was looking for a small child wasn't he? "Where is she now?" Reyson asked looking around him. "If she's a child, shouldn't she be following you?"

Luke laughed slightly. "She's the one I soaked with water. I have my suspicions where she is, but I'm not worried. She never goes too far. She's not a cling-on kind of kid, and usually goes exploring alone." He sat back and added a few details to the figure, as much as water would allow. A small nose here, fingers, loose waves of hair that stuck out after she ran. "She's a sneaky little bugger too. Try playing hide-and-seek with her sometime. Took me the entire day to find her the last time."

Reyson chuckled letting the small watery figure run through his hands and fall into the water. "You're quite the father-figure I must say." wiping his hands on his rump, "Hide-and-seek eh?" he smirked. "I would love to play hide-and-seek with her sometime." he didn't want to admit it, but he did have a special affection for children. Probably because they were so innocent and naive. Or maybe because he didn't get to be as carefree as them when he was young. He picked at the grass moodily, lost in thought.

Luke jumped slightly and the water figurine dropped into the river. Father figure? He hadn't actually thought of it that way. He was just taking care of her! But... That's what father's where supposed to do. He frowned slightly, feeling his responsibilities completely change concerning the young cervi. He would keep on as he was doing, but it would from then on feel different. His own father figure had been distant. How could he be doing right for the little girl? He looked at Reyson, suprised that he was the one to make himself see this radical idea. With a soft sigh, he looked at where Vesna's twin had been standing a few moments ago. Luke had never given kids much thought before. What did he think of children? "So, you like kids?"

Reyson turned to look at Luke absentmindedly. "Do I like kids?" How should he answer this? "Well...they're not that bad...I'm not a big fan of them..." he lied. He didn't like to admit that he had an affection for children. He didn't even have a legitimate reason for lying. "You know what? Forget I said that. I like kids." his ears flicked around.
"How'd you meet Vesna? She doesn't look like a cattaur looking at your figure." he pointed at the area the small figure had once been.

Luke smiled gently. Sounded like something he himself would have said before. "She's a cervitaur. I found her while walking through the woods. She was just a baby all alone. I had intended to find her parents for her, or at least someone else to take her. I searched for a long time, then I didn't search so hard. Now..." He gazed as the last ripples in the river faded down the current. "Guess I've gotten used to having her around." He couldn't bring himself to actually say he adopted her. He'd never said anything official, and she just kept following him! Right? Father... He didn't know his real father, and the centauress' mate had despised Luke from the start. Him? A father figure? He shook his head and looked down at his hands. He peeked at Reyson by his side, that rag doll-esque teen, and started laughing. Leave it to a stranger to make him start thinking like this!

Reyson nodded. "So she's grown on you I guess." Reyson patted him on the back. "Congratulations Dad." he smirked. Luke wasn't so bad he thought. The guy actually had a soft and kind side. Taking in a small child was something no man could easily do. He wondered what this little Vesna character was like. She sounded like she was fun to play with.
"What?" Reyson raised an eyebrow at Luke. "What're you laughing at?" Did he do something weird?

"I ain't your dad." Luke said with a playful smirk. But on that note, he ran a hand through his hair slowly, brushing the bangs from his brow only to have them fall back into place, a slight and nervous downturn on his mouth and eyes. Did Vesna see him as a father? He shook his head, mouth smirking but eyes still heavy. "It's just life is so unexpected. You know? First I'm being raised by centaurs, then I'm off alone. Next thing I know, I'm raising an orphan cervi-girl and not even realizing the role I've taken on until a teenager raised by nagas tells me." With a bolstering laugh, he flicked his hand and he and Reyson were surrounded by a thick ring of water that was angled to make rainbows overhead.

Reyson smirked, his tail flicking from side to side. "You never know right?" He did find it funny that he would be the one to make someone realize something. "Well, I'm still your teacher right? Even though I'm not an adult yet." Reyson pointed at the ring of water. "You've seem to have more control now."
