Umicho looks over at him. "It's because it's kind of like flying in a way. It cools you down if the heat is too much, and you can move much faster when you swim. It's a refreshing, invigorating experience."

"Hmmm..." Red tapped the toes of one paw against the ground in quiet rhythm. Like flying? He supposed that for most lions, that was as close as they would get. "That sounds very relaxing."

"Oh, it really is." She walks over to him smiling. "It also gives the feeling of total freedom. You don't feel weight in the water. It's like all your burdens just fall off of you."

"Mmmm... That sounds like it would be nice," he commented, tilting his head to the side as if imaging his worries floating away on the surface of the water.

"It is. That is why I love to swim. I forget my worries and just relax. If your tail wasn't on fire, you could too." She looks at him. "What happens if the fire goes out?"

Red shook his head, "No one really ever knew... It's extremely painful, when it comes close to being extinguished, or when enough water hits it to more than sizzle... It was assumed death, either by the fire going out or the immenseness of the pain, so it was avoided completely." He stared at his tail a moment, his one good eye watching it dance momentarily before returning his one-sided gaze to Umicho.

Umicho tilts her head, watching the fire burn on his tail. "Wow..really? That's not good. No wonder you don't ever swim..."

Red nodded, "Indeed. It's not a distaste for the water, it's a fear."

"It's understandable then. Have you ever tested the theory?" She swishes her tail back and forth.

Red raised a brow, "Certainly not. The loss of an eye is accident enough for me. I feel no need to test the flame with my life." He pulled his tail a bit closer, not even realizing the action. "Have you ever tried to breathe under water? It's the same sort of question."

She lifts her front paws up in a defensive manner, looking at him frowning. "I was just asking. I did not mean putting it out. But whatever..." She sighs and turns away, wrapping her tail around her side.

Red frowned at her back. She sure was moody. He had tried to talk about something that she had obvious interest in, and it had backfired miserably. Her tapped his toes against the ground a moment before turning his back on her, making them look like a pair of cubs who had gotten into a fight over a stick or something.

After a few minutes Umicho sighs and speaks without turning. "Why do we end up fighting on everything?" She looks over her shoulder at him. "We are acting like cubs or like brother and sister. Is there a topic we will not fight on?"

Red looked over his shoulder at her, "I don't know, you're the one who starts the fights," he said, only meaning it half-heartedly, and stuck his tongue out. "Maybe you should pick a topic, so at least I can't be blamed." He had a small smile on his face, lessening the impact of his words a bit, since they weren't meant to hurt, just to poke fun.

She rolls her eyes when he sticks his tongue out. "Alright..." She thinks for a moment, wondering what they could talk about."Fish..? Hunting..?"
