Livi circled a few more times, then changed her mind about her morph. The Soglera wasn't the best for around here after all. She took shelter behind the wall and morphed back into the villainous human she was, then she thought briefly and changed into a squirrel. Better to be up close and personal with the heroes than above them. Livi bounded out of her cover and scrabbled along the sidewalk, stopping to chitter softly beside Altair. Before checking to see if her had noticed her, she climbed up his clothing and perched on his shoulder, still making that chitter to distract him from the noise of the flute for just a second.
Altair, she thought in her mind to the boy. Where are you going? Can I come with you?

Altair wasn't sure if it was normal for Earth animals to climb on people, so he didn't do anything. He did, however, do something when he heard its voice in his head.
"What in the universe!" he exclaimed, jumping. "What was that? Hello?"
Hello? he thought. He still wasn't sure how to use telepathy. This was his first time.

Livi laughed, a cruel sound that didn't match her appearance. You know me, she said simply. Don't say anything aloud; it will give me away. Think it to me. And - no, it isn't normal for animals to climb on people, but that's just me for you. You have telepathy.

Nathan walked into the cafeteria and sat at his usual spot, away from everybody else. During his speeches and when he was in meetings, he was usually a happy extrovert. But, truthfully, he was an introvert. He liked being away from everyone else. True, he did have to use other peoples natural energies to power himself, but he didn't always like the clutter and mind noise that they gave. He didn't know why he came to the cafe, it was really the worst place to be during the day, especially if you were a telepath. Everyone was loud and noisey, especially in their heads. They didn't know it, but the telepaths did. They felt it. It was terrible. Nathan had been taught to control his telepathy by the great telepath and illusionist, Saturn Girl, once leader of the Legion. But, now it was over 10 years later, and Saturn Girl and her generation were gone, leaving Nathan and his generation to lead the Legionaires. He grabbed a bottle of water and sat back down at his spot. He scanned the room with his mind. All he could feel were horny, hormone-raging boys, and not-so-friendly, menstral girls. That's ususally how it is when the majority of your team are teenagers. Nathan sighed. What am I gonna do with these people?

Altair was surprised, but it wasn't that big of a deal; he still didn't know everything.
Umm. OK. His thoughts were slow and choppy. I'm not a villain. At least, I don't think so. Maybe. What's a villain?

Billie continued to play her flute, she normally did that to clear her mind of all thoughts. She hated having her mind cluttered, she knew how many telepathic people were around and she didn't want to bother them. People may have thought she was annoying, but she just spoke her mind so there wouldn't be any thoughts left to think about. She kept on playing a little louder and she smiled softly to herself. She was already helping people in the way she had wanted to, it was a relief.

Livi scoffed. You don't know what a villain is? Wow, you are so uneducated. She stopped for a moment to let her words sink in. A villain is one who does bad deeds. An evil person. Vampires, werewolves, ogres - those are all evil. Oops - here she laughed again - I forgot. You're a newbie here. You don't know anything.

He had no idea what she was talking about, but he did understand one part.
Hey! I'm plenty educated! He stuck his hands in his pockets. Look, I'm new here, like you said. I don't know what's going. All I know is, I'm not going to be taking orders anymore. From anyone. And that's that.

Ok, ok, I'm sorry. Livi settled into a more comfortable position on his shoulder. Then, with intense curiosity, she asked, Who were you taking orders from? Without waiting for a response, she crept closer to Altair's ear. I have something to tell you. Altair might have flinched, but she didn't know. Would you like to know who I really am? Just a quick warning: it's rather...unnatural, and possibly gross.

A shudder passed over Nathan's body. Something was wrong. Something was not normal. He reached out with his mind and swept the tower, like a giant mental arm sweeping crums off a table. He didn't feel anything wrong in the tower. What was that? That...feeling of being watched. I'll have to keep on my toes. He thought. Nathan stood and began a walk around the tower.

Billie stopped playing her flute, "Those waves again..." she strapped her flute to her waist and took off one of her gloves revealing a speaker on her left hand. She looked at the ring, "Might as well give it a test run," she used the flight ring to fly up and around following the negative waves she was feeling. She then spotted what was making those waves and she just watched them for now. She placed her hand behind her, waiting to send out a distress wave to Nathan if she needed to.

He did twitch a bit as she got closer, but not too much.
Ohhh, show me! I like things that are interesting. Only Altair could act so childish, and yet seem so mature at the same time.

Nathan flew around the Tower. He found nothing. Not a single thing that lead him to the disturbence. He decided to go inlist some help. Nathan entered the lounge to find that Billie was gone. So, he checked her room. Nothing. He checked the court yard. Nada. He checked the cafeteria. Ziltch. He checked the H-T. Zip. Nathan stood in the middle of the hall scratching his head. He decided to mind sweep the Tower again for Billie. Finally, he found her. Nathan took off flying down the hall as fast as he possibly could. He smashed into a few walls and avoid a number of others, but he eventually found her. Before he could approach her, Nathan saw a man with a squirrel on his shoulder. Nathan didn't recognize the man and realized that the squirrels were extinct in Metropolis. Natha lifted his hand a purple bubble formed into his palm. Then he extended it toward the man and it launched at him, growing bigger as it gained length. It finally hit him and lifted him in the air. Nathan ran around to the front of it. "By the order of the Legion of Superheroes, I demand that you state your name and purpose of infiltraiting our facilities." Nathan reached out with his mind and touched Billie's. Why did you not stop them? Or send a distress call? He asked her.

All right. Livi sighed and jumped down from Altair's shoulder. Come with me. She ran over to the same wall she had hidden behind so many times, checking that he was coming every few seconds. I did warn you... Then she morphed quickly into the villain she truly was.

Billie stood next to Nathan and took out her flute. She looked at him and sent to him I was going to if they did anything that was going to cause damage. I have been observing them for a while, I knew that there was something up with that crow earlier, that creature on his shoulder is giving off the same waves. They have done nothing so far, and she turned and gave him a look I could have paralyzed them you know.
