Tourma forced herself to suppress a grin as his nerves got the best of him. "Okay."
His next question caused her to absently pat where there would be pockets before spying a sharpie pen laying on a nearby workbench. "Now I do," she said while acquiring the writing implement. Uncapping it with her teeth and peering at him expectantly, her next words were spoken oddly through the pen cap. "Nuuh-bur?"

He recited the number for her from memory before repocketing the cel. His eyes wandered once again, looking for a new place to locate themselves and fixed on the car. He wondered if it would run any better now....it had a feeling it might. If nothing else, she'd probably saved him hundreds of dollars and tacked another few months onto the car's life.
"This was really awesome of you, by the way, I appreciate it."

While he recited the number, Tourma wrote it down on her arm, missing his wandering eyes due to concentration. His words caused her to look up as she capped the pen. Did he really enjoy getting greased up and covered in soda?
Oh wait, the car.
"Oh yeah, not a problem! Give me a call if you ever break down," she offered absently with a grin, beaming slightly at the praise.
Her tail swished behind her as she tried to figure out what else to say. "Uh, so I'll see you sometime soon...?"

"Yeah! Yeah, sure..." he said, fighting the urge to squirm even as his tail gave a swish behind him. This was very quickly going to become awkward if he didn't get out of there...and probably end up costing him his chance at living in a great place.
"You could probably give Ray a call tomorrow sometime, or later tonight if you think you'll still be up." he said, moving to give a brief check under the hood to make sure she hadn't left any tools or anything inside before catching it on the edges of his fingers to slam it down again.
"She usually stays up til about two AM or so..."

She stood out of the way as he shut the hood, fighting the urge to make the situation more awkward for the two of them. A small part of her felt amusement and she didn't know quite why. Either way, Tourma nodded and gave the car a healthy pat. "I'll be sure to give her a call tomorrow probably, I'm an early riser."
Absently, she hoped that the two of them weren't loud when they stayed up late. The worry passed as the teen stepped back to hit the garage door button so he could leave. "Have a good night," she offered with a smile, "And call me if you have any random questions or need to let me know something. Yeah..."
This was really getting awkward-er by the minute.

It certainly was, and Kendall decided that as she'd given him the out for ending the conversation, he'd gladly take it. "Sure, I'll do that." he told her, giving her a smile he hoped didn't look fake as he opened the car door and climbed in.
He sat there a moment, hesitant to give the engine a try. If it was still shot to hell, he'd feel bad she'd wasted her time for nothing...but moreso that it might prolong things.
Turning the key, the car gave its usual roar, but following, the engine purred rustily beneath the hood instead of the laboring cough and sputter it usually gave. He blinked in surprise, then grinned, looking up to Tourma, giving her a wave as he backed the car out of the garage slowly and down the driveway.
Once he was out of her sight, he gave the steering well a punch with one half-closed fist. "RRGH, are you ever NOT gonna look like an idiot in front of every girl that says hi??" he grumbled, reaching out for the radio to click it on as he embarked out on the epic journey that would be finding where Raven had gotten to and having to listen to her b***h all the way home.
