Richard had just finihed up some alst minute details withi his new job. He had to admit it awasn't as prestigious or paid as well as on the force, but ti was a job. A good, respectable job. And it owould bring him and his Lorey one step closer to happiness.
He opened the door, a soft jungle coming form a small bell at the top of the door way. He had considered bringing Lorey flowers but found that ironic and silly since she worked in a flower shop. So instead, he picked up a large slice of a sweet little cake from the cafe for the two of them to share. He looked around, recalling purchasing Lorey's little wooden rose here. He smiled at the thought, and Lorey's reaction to it. He was so distracted, he walked right into a little metal stand with various cards on them for people to add to their arrangements for loved ones. He cursed slightly under his breath, bending over to pick them up and put them back where they belonged.

A rather short, older woman came out from behind the counter to help him, but stopped mid trip. Through her eyeglasses, which made her eyes nearly twice their size, she saw his features just as Lorey had described them. "Thank you, dear..." she mumbled. Miss Fiadora shuffled right up to the kneeling Richard, and got right in his handsome face. She certainly didn't mind the closeness, and from this distance could certainly understand why Lorey was engaged to him.
"Are you Richard?" she asked in her old, rough voice.

Richard smiled nervously, putting the last of the cards back where they belonged on the lowest little run. "Um...y-yes Ma'am. I apologize for the mess..." He offered embarassed as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Is Lorey here?" He asked though found it a silly question. Of course she was there it was just if he could see her.

"Ooh!" It was the most excited little noise before she shuffled off behind the counter and to a door, which she opened just a crack. "LOREY! There's a strange handsome man here for you. Should I tell him to bugger off?"
Meanwhile, Lorey jumped so badly that she nearly fainted. The arrangement was done, though, so she sped that off to the loading cooler along with a tag saying who it was for. She did good work, if she could say so herself. "Who is it, is it Richard?" she called out, since she was a little ways back from the store front.
"Ooh, it might be!" Miss Fiadora laughed merrily, letting the door shut and turning to Richard. "She'll be out in a minute... Lorelee told me about you, and she was right! You're a real looker!"

Richard smiled and blushed bright red as he continued to rub his neck. "W-why thank you madam." He smiled, and set his bag down. "However I must say, Lorey didn't tell me she worked with such an incredible creature." He got over his shyness quickly, taking the older woman's hand before kissing the back of it like a gentleman.

Her laughter rang out once more as she actually blushed through her own brashness. "Ooh, you stop that! Your honey's coming, she can't see you kissing old lady hands."
"Richard!" Both looked up to the door to see Lorey coming through, beaming at the very sight of him. "Miss Fiadora, this is my fiance... This is Richard." She came over light as a feather from the pride she felt at that introduction, arms held out to Richard for a hug.
"I met him, I met him!" she laughed, stepping aside for the two.

Richard flashed an incredible smile as he saw Lorey come out. "How are you love?" He asked, unashamedly sweeping her up into a hug, giving her a sweet and slightly passionate kiss for all to see. "I brought some cake for us to share if you're on your lunch break..." he added, referring to the plastic bag on the floor behind him.

"I haven't even started eating yet!" she laughed, smiling with blushing cheeks. "There's a little patio out back..."
"Yes, a little patio with two chairs and a little table. Complete eyesore out back, but you two go out for your twenty minutes and I'll hold the fort." Fiadora took Lorey's waist and pushed her out towards the door while ushering Richard with the other. She'd given them five extra minutes on a whim, because once upon a time, she, too, had a love.
Lorey laughed once more before opening the door to the cool backroom. They'd have to walk a bit before reaching the very back door, which would lead out to a closed in patio. It was mostly gravel on the ground and three brick walls with a small wrought iron table and chairs, but it was quiet and that was all that mattered.

Richard laughed and nodded, picking up the bag before following Lorey out back. "It was a pleasure meeting you ma'am. I'm sure this won't be our last encounter!" He called over his shoulder with the tone of a true gentleman. He thought she was a very humorous and lively old woman, much like his own grandmother, if not a bit too spry for his taste.

As they walked through the chilly room, they passed coolers much like those at a grocery store filled with bouquets and special orders. Some were small and simple, others huge or almost as tall as Lorey. "Chilly, isn't it? I can't feel my nose after the last one I did." She grabbed the bag Richard had packed for her from off a counter, led him further out back until they hit a door, and out they were in the slightly dilapidated patio for their lunch.
"And here we are!" she said. Lorey's face was a little pinked from being in the cold for so long, and her nose was chilled. But, she did love her job, and so she didn't mind.

Richard set the bag down on the little table, and took off his jacket. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked, draping it over her shoulders lovingly. "I don't want you to freeze to death, you hear me?" He smiled, giving her a kiss on the cheek before taking a seat.

"Come here..." Just before he sat down, Lorey gave him another hug. She loved how he had come, just for her, and had been so nice to her boss. "I love you..." One more squeeze, and she let him sit down in the hard seat. Comfort wasn't something to be found back there, but it could be put up with.
"So, let's see if this soup stayed warm!" Lorey reached down in the back, but her fingers found a stem. Out came the daisy, making her smile and laugh softly before she tucked it behind her ear. Next came the thermos she'd been looking for. "Still feels nice and toasty..."

Richard just watched her in endearment as she went about preparing the little lunch, only snapping out of his daydream when she spoke. "Ah good. I had hoped so. A good treat on such a gray day no?" He noted, taking out a napkin and setting it out before her as if he were waiting on a princess. "I just hope it's not too hot...don't burn yourself..." he warned, though had to laugh at himself. He was like some over protective father who wanted to make sure everything was perfect for her.

Her smile told him it was perfect even if it was too hot, but as she poured it into the cup, she found it was just right. "Ah... so nice after spending all that time arranging. Sometimes I'm out on the register or taking phone calls, but now I also do little arrangements. It's fun, actually." Lorey wasn't sure if Richard knew anything about flowers or not, so just left it there. "How did your day go so far? Everything work out alright?"

Richard nodded and smiled as he leaned back a little. "Things went smoothly. I was worried when they ran the background check since I was fired for 'unresolved' reasons from the force, but they had no problem. Apparently I'm one of the least shady characters to apply fora job there in who knows how long...it looks like everyone's lookin' fora second chance..." He sighed, pulling out the cake, and a small portable mug of coffee that acted like a small thermos for himself.
