From the corner of the gym, Atamia smirked and watched the newbie play. Sure, he had gotten 2 points against Fate, and that was pretty fancy-shmancy, but she had played against Fate herself. It wasn't exactly hard. The zig-zag shot was irritating, but just keep your cool and Fate would be highly disturbed, even if she won. Besides, the girl could dish it out, but she couldn't take it. She was useless against the snake shot.
Atamia giggled. Then she took 2 strides to cross over to the net line. She leaned against the wall and said, "I wanna play winner, m'kay, Fate? Newbie?" It was good to get your dibs in.

"Don't speak to your Hanari High Squad Captain like that. Shut your mouth and wait your turn", Fate responded as she looked at Atamia. Fate had gone against Atamia many times and won. The fact that Atamia would get under Fate's skin, would not irritate her. Fate was way too confident in her skills and for that reason she had an advantage over almost anyone.
Ian watched as the two exchanged words in a rude fashion, "Oh man! She's still so cold!! I can't believe she told Snake-shot Atamia to shut up. I'd be scared!"
Reichi turned around when he heard the response, "Hey! Just because your captain...it doesn't mean you can treat people lower than you."
Fate turned her head slightly to Reichi, "And what are you going to do about it? Your the one trying out for the squad. Prove to me you can talk the talk."
Quote: "Mr...Haulber? You, uh, called for me", spoke Fate as she sat down in an empty class room. The sun glared inside the room covering the Coach of the Squad's face. "Ho ho ho! Don't be so cold when it's a hot sunny day! Get it!! Ho ho ho", said Coach Haulber as he placed papers down on the table. Fate sat quietly and then turned her head, "What is this about Coach? I know you didn't just bring me in here for me to hear your jokes." Coach Haulber cleared his throat as he shuffled the papers on the desk, "It's about that boy...Reichi. You met him yesterday didn't you? Knowing you...you are even going to challenge him just for tryouts. But it's a personal reason isn't it?" "...", She just sat quietly and then slowly stood up looking at Coach Haulber. "Fate...", Coach Haulber said. He stood up as well opening one of the folders, "Please...don't irritate Reichi. Why is it you think he was kicked out of so many schools? He finally came to this one and I think he might be the one to help us win the Championships. Do you see now?" Fate's eyes grew wider with shock as she looked at the folder. She couldn't bear...the news.

Atamia stuck her tongue out at Fate. "Whatever, Ziggy. I consider myself just as good as you. You just happen to specialize in speed, while I specialize in power. So you're just a little thorn in my weakness. No biggie." She retracted her tongue and crossed her arms, looking very calm and, somehow, immortal. "Just finish your game, I'm getting bored."

Snake-shot? I wonder what that's about...
Adrian watched the argument between Fate and Atamia with a bit of amusement before turning back to Ian.
"My curiosity is itching me... I saw the shot Fate made... I saw the birdie slowly turn... but Reichi couldn't... I think..."
She turned to see the other players in the gym, watching thier birdies move back and forth so slowly, yet everyone was watching with such intesity. Why couldn't she comprehend how fast they were going?
"I think... I want to try..."

Spaniard The Last Angel Snake-shot? I wonder what that's about...Adrian watched the argument between Fate and Atamia with a bit of amusement before turning back to Ian. "My curiosity is itching me... "I think... I want to try..." "Oh! You want to try? I'll play against you for a bit, then. You are...what's your expertise? Speed? Mine is power, so if you're a fast person, you should have a bit more chance than if you didn't. C'mon, here's a racket." Atamia strode over to the Spanish girl and started talking to her. She then handed Adrian a racket, took the girl's hand, and led her to the one open court. "So, what's your name?"

Mai ran through the possible comebacks, in her head, and chose to dive for it. Swooping down low, the dark haired girl flicked her racket just enough to hit the falling birdie. Her accuracy training had helped her overcome that.
As the birdie soared up again, it skimmed the net, and tipped over onto Toko's side. Mai stood up, a slight smirk on her face.
"Good job," She said, with even a little bit of sincerity to it. It was true; she had lost the shot, but she lost it without losing her diginity. If the birdie hadn't of touched the net, it would've been a point, but since it did scrap it, Toko got the point.

2-1 MAI! Toko went back to his side waiting for the serve. He smiled, "Hey hey cutiepie! I told you I was serious."
He continued to firmly hold his racket for the next serve. He knew she was strong and could probably beat him, which is why he had to go all out. He didn't want to seem weak, but what could he do. He had no skills.ADRIAN VS ATAMIA!Ian, shocked, grabbed Adrian's hand, "Adrian!! Are you sure you want to take on Atamia the snake-shot???"
He was incredibly worried that someone that was on the same level as Fate would want to go against a beginner. Atamia was already on the squad and Fate's rival, nonetheless to go after a beginner. This was very troublesome and Ian couldn't tell her exactly what to do. Ian knew everything about Badminton, but it was too bad he couldn't play it as well as the others.[MEANWHILE] Quote: "Fate...", Coach Haulber stopped Fate before she walked out the room.
"Don't tell anyone, ok. We...we can't have anybody know", he said waiting for a response.
Fate didn't say anything. She just closed the door behind her and left. With her eyes full of confident. Why Reichi got kicked out of school? Why? 4-2 FATE! 5-2 FATE! 6-2 FATE! Reichi began to sweat, trying to pick up his game. It was almost impossible for him to reach the birdie and then have the birdie move across the other way in a zig-zag fashion. Fate walked to her side again looking back, "Your all talk no show. You know...at least your trying." Reichi's eyes began to change. His stance changed too. He walked back to his side of the court as he spoke his voice had changed too, "Well...we'll see." Fate stood on her side, trembling. She began to murmur to herself, "I-Is...h-he...?"

Seeing as it was her serve, Mai decided to take a quick peek at the match between Reichi and Fate, and noticed he was losing horribly. But that wasn't the only thing that was different. Reichi... seemed different. His voice, as she couldn't see his features (like his changing eyes), seemed more impressive. He didn't sound like a whiny little boy anymore. She sighed, then focused back on her own match, but not before noticing Adriana, the girl who didn't even know what badminton was, going in to play against one of the members of the badminton team. Mai had raised an eyebrow, curious as to why a newb would think she could play Atamia.
Mai shook her head, then served the birdie towards Toko. She had a trick up her sleeve, but Mai would save that for later. When she at least got to 6 points.

Toko quickly reacted to the serve as he ran up to the net. He smashed the birdie instantly like a fast iron bull. The birdie quickly went to the floor.
2-2 TIE! MAI AND TOKO!
"Things like this are bound to happen. Ok cutiepie! Show me what your all about", Toko said as he walked back to his court. It was still her serve and her last one too. Toko glanced at Reichi's match as he murmured, "Man she's using the zig-zag way too much. What's her problem? Is she really serious? That kid...what's wrong with his eyes? They're...a different color...what's...well...let me pay attention to my cutiepie here."
exclaim Meanwhile
Fate served this time hitting more or less towards the center line. Reichi runs up to the center line as he yells, "Poor thing. You actually think you stand a chance!"
Fate, surprised, runs to the birdie. She quickly hits it to the right. Reichi hits it back to the left to where Fate was standing. Fate smirked at this and knew he wanted to see the Zig-Zag. Fate quickly changed her grip and smacked the birdie. The birdie flew to the right and then to the left changing it's course. Once more it changed to the right, but Reichi was already in that position smiling. The birdie changed to the left as Reichi quickly jolted to that side using a drop shot. Fate was too far away as she watched the birdie fall to the ground.
6-3 FATE!
"I'm guessing it's my turn to serve", Reichi said as he walked towards his side. Fate couldn't tell if this was the same Reichi she met. His appearance was completely different and so was his style. His voice was alternating as if it were two people. She just stood there waiting for his serve murmuring to herself, "Hmm. Was that folder accurate Coach Haulber? Is this really that kid?"

"Hm? Well, if you don't want her to play me, then I won't play her. Anyway, this game looks like it's almost over. Hey, you. Ian, was that your name? Ever heard of Beserker? You know, that guy who went crazy 20 years ago at that one super famous tournament and basically powned everyone? Same basic principal. He'll win." Atamia turned back to watch the game, swinging her racket dangerously as she crossed from the audience to the wall nearby the game.

Adrian debated between what to do, spining the racket nervously in her hand. It was so like... it felt as if it was apart of her. But she didn't quiet understand what the girl had said. Speed had an advantage over power, apparently, but how could she know what Adrian's strength's were. This, set Adrian's curiosity aflame, and so, she gave a confident nod.
"I... I want to play... "
She took her place like she had seen the others take across the net and waited, a bit nervous, but the rules seemed simple enough.

"Hm. Good girl. You subconsciously chose the better side. See those windows behind you?" Atamia pointed. "If you're staring into them, it doesn't matter how focused on the game you are, you're still going to be blinded. But, I don't like having no sight, even against a beginner, so..." She stuck her thumb in her mouth and bit. When she withdrew it, blood trickled off of it. She wiped it on the cheekbone under the eyes as some sort of war paint, then took the badminton racket with both her hands. "War paint. It keeps the sun out of your eyes. A lot of people don't believe it, but it works." She smiled at the girl opposite. "You can serve first."

Ian watched as both girls exchanged words and then interrupted then, "A-Adrian...are you sure??"

6-4 FATE!
6-5 FATE!
7-5 FATE!
7-6 FATE!
Fate began to sweat as she looked at the score. She knew she wasn't doing too good and he had already broken the Zig-Zag. Fate smiled, "I'll win this. For sure!"
Reichi served this time. Fate ran quickly and smashed the birdie to the right. It switched to the left in a zig-zag fashion, but Reichi had already moved to that side. He hit it as he laughed, "Haha! Your so weak! And your the captain! You should be ashamed of yourself!"
7-7 TIE!
Fate began to tremble at the thought of losing. It was still his turn to serve. She walked back to her side changing the grip and stance. Fate was fierce examining Reichi's every move. She whispered to herself, "I guess it's come down to this. I have to use that move."

((Grar! Adrian is offline! So, I shall just watch. Yay. XD))
As Atamia waited for the girl to serve, she observed the beserker kid throw insults toward Fate. "Hm. That boy wouldn't understand hypocritical theory if it was naked, danced on the end of his nose, bit his face, and was wearing a monocle." She turned back to her game.

(( sweatdrop yeah, sorry, I get on Gaia in the later hours... ))
Adrian held the light birdie in her hand, watching someone else across the gym serve as an example. Putting her foot out for leverage, Adrian gave a nod to Ian, assuring him that she would be okay. Tossing the birdie up, Adrian hit it dead in the center of her racket with enough force so that it flew directly to Atamia.
