GigglyGal WeissRitter Mayura GigglyGal WeissRitter Mayura i do find the indexing part confusing but do we really need to mind abut it? ~ If you're referring to my post, don't worry about it. I'm just in a mood to index the threads in which I'm loitering. Apart from Strideo's constant presence in the index, I'm nothing to do with the mods xp
For my part, though, I've never actually seen any of Jeyal's other threads. Not that I can recall, at least. Hey, Giggly, don't look at me like a bad guy ~ Huh?
(I'm keeping out of this entire argument - I don't know enough to comment either way) it's okay - i understand 3nodding ~ i feel like i accidentally pulled you into this gonk ~

Jeyal Strideo pippa102 Strideo Nadian pippa102 Yeah. Like "Type your name with your elbow" is not spam. Double standards is an ugly thing. I'll be honest, I'm not sure why some topics get moved and not others... sweatdrop I think it's just a matter of how old those ones are. It doesn't make any logical sense in terms of organization but on the other hand I don't really see why it's worth arguing over. Jshin proposed moving that one as well as some others already too. Then why doesn't it get moved? It's obviously spam. But again, Jeyal's threads gets rmoved immediately under the banner of "spam". Why the double standards? They do? Or do you mean some did? I don't recall moving any of her threads recently myself but maybe others have. I don't know for sure but you make it sound as if every other thread she makes is moved. To be fair, 3 of 8 have been moved. Not every other thread, but pretty close. I move threads that I fear are upsetting to the majority of the crowd. I don't classify much as spam, but threads I consider "harmful" to the atmosphere are also moved (and the only good place is the Can of Spam [as most of anything goes there]; Zeeky will please notice that this is why I moved his there, once I finally caught wind of its existance). Again, it is just "damage-control".

I don't want to quote but I believe that one of the problems is that the mods can't function as one singled opinion judge, therefore the mods that partially agree with Jeyal will eventually disagree the ones that don't, weakening the mod entity.
Now, why is this possible? Could it be that mods dont expose their doubts about the WN organization in time so they find themselves arguing over a minor matter?
I think there are mistakes about how WN is handled, but then again, it is not a democracy, but if a single person is able to create such debate and even got people on her side I believe problems are getting out of hands, and that is then when either mods unify to solve them or they start fighting for power and popularity....
I might been wrong but I wanted to say it so there it is.

Strideo Shirou - The White Demon Okami Ameras It's bad form for a mod to move someone's thread (without good reason), but no one can really do anything about it except for Z. That sounds like a lack of democracy in why not...
I can't believe it...
ninja
No one ever claimed this was a democracy. razz Quite. The illusion of democrasy is a courtesy, in this case. Otherwise Gaia would have set up quite a different system. Mind, I choose to run this guild with a very... Libertarian fist.

pippa102 Ame no Tenshi Why is it that every time I see you come in here Jeyal you seem to be wanting to start something?
Hang on. Don't do that. I'm in here too, asking questions. Are we not allowed to question things? Are we all puppets? If we speak out, we're deemed troublemakers? These are valid issues. Just for the record, most threads on the main page can be moved to some subforum in this guild. Ame hit the nail on the head as to why Jeyal's threads get moved. ninja And it'd be pretty funny if you couldn't ask questions in a guild called "Why Not?"

She probably wants to start all these debates just to tare apart the alliances of all the Why Not moderators, then conflict will arise, and when its all ruined -Why Not will drop in success. Shes just jealous that this guild is so successful. rolleyes That is low. You so obviously don't know Jeyal. Well, I don't understand why she called us her "nemesis/nemesi/nemesiseseseseses"...

Abrien Sliver There are no double standards, the mods keep the little game threads to help keep the CIF moving, along with the normal threads. Jeyal makes threads that cause disruption, disruption is not a thing we need here, we enjoy calm, nice enviroments and she acts like a troll but somewhat masks her intentions with her high intellect, I've tried just ignoring her threads, but this is too far, this whole thing is basically trying to say the mods are bad for trying to keep peace. Thanks for the astute commentary. smile

It just seems that every time I see her post a topic it has to do with us mods moving her topics. And then the mods turn into some hateful dictators who are out to get the little people.
I'm sorry. I hardly ever move topics. And if I do its because I think its spam. And its not me playing "who do I hate the most" If I'm going to move a topic, it doesn't matter whose it is. If it deserves to be moved, it deserves to be moved.
Isn't that the point? Move ALL the topics that need moving then. Wow, that'd be a **** of a lot of work. @_@

Jeyal had to leave some time ago to her job.
I'm giving up on my questions. It's of no use. Not one single mod in here cared to answer my question about why not ALL undesirable threads in here get moved. Why only some? Instead, people resorted to blame shifting and ugliness.
If you want to be vigilant about what should and shouldn't be on the main page, then be consistent about it. Move the "Look at my art threads" to the art forum. Move the "OMG, my boyfriend is leaving me" to the life issues forum. And ALL spam to spam. Etc... Almost every thread in here has a place in some subforum.
If you can't see why I asked, then so be it.

Jeyal's passive aggressiveness is what gets her threads on the past path to being moved. I defer to Abrien's observations here. There isn't really much more to be said.

If you can't see why I asked, then so be it. (Oh poop. I said I wouldn't get involved.)
See Z's post above. Do you have any idea just how much effort that would take? In a guild the size of WN, with the thread turnover that it has, it's almost completely impossible to keep track of every thread (Just take the index as an example here. There's only one of me, and I probably only index, what, 2% of a day's threads? Definitely less than 1% of the entire CIF). But, for me, that's half of the fun of this guild - there's no strict policy. As long as we're all sensible, we get along just fine, for the main part.
The other thing to consider is just how boring the CIF would be if every little thing was sorted into subforums. I mean, we'd each have to browse every subforum even if we only wanted a little light reading, whereas I love the fact that there's always something to attract my attention on the first page of the CIF. Compartmentalising the guild would just leave it sterile and inactive.
