Okay...once again, my tests proved bad. crying Oh Gods I hope I'm not mortally wounding these guys!! Please don't hate me...I'm horrible with tests. I freak out, man! I-- *is smacked by Aki* .....Thank you.

Okay, so...here's what I've found out so far about these blooms (their likes, anyway):

????:
Likes rock/dance music
Likes moonlight
Likes cold air

Merrimack:
Likes classical and some jazz music
Likes flowers/trees

...Wow. sweatdrop I must suck. Well, today is a new day...so, a few new tests!

I got this idea from Puchiko: a cloth test. However, this will be difficult since my blooms don't seem to like water...anyway. I hunted through my closet for that box of scrap material I had, and took some a couple. I won't try too many, as I don't have THAT much time to wait inbetween each test. Just maybe...five. Is that too many? ....Nah.

I had Chibi Neko help me, since Ares still isn't back yet. Gods I hope she'd okay. sweatdrop I got around to asking Puchiko if she knew anything about Ares at the moment, and she didn't...I'm worried. sad Happy thoughts...happy thoughts!!

Chibi Neko helped me with the cloth test, as she's about 1/8th my size and has better hands for something like this. I may have gentle hands, but I wouldn't be able to wrap these blooms in anything. sweatdrop

I got a couple of other ideas as well. So ???? seems to like the cold...I placed the bloom in the freezer for a little bit, and then the refridgerator. Since it doesn't seem to be affected by darkness, I figured that would be okay. And thinking about it, I decided to test Merrimack for something else I wish I'd thought of in the past: metals and time.

Getting metal shavings was a little difficult, but I managed...I'll just use tiny bits of metal dust on the petals and see what happens. That way, it'll be easy to brush off if it didn't like them. (I did this while ???? was in the freezer.) After putting ???? in the fridge, it was time to test...well, time. I love magic sometimes...

I tested haste, at first. Of course, this is slightly difficult, because I had to be able to make it so the test would not affect the blooms actual time...only my own. So, I guess in a way it was a test of speed...but hopefully this will work for time as well. It's been so long since I've run that fast...I managed to make it from here to the Haven in about 30 seconds. And that's normally a 5 hour walk from here. eek I protected the bloom, of course, so the speed wouldn't rip the poor thing apart. I also tested slow. Gods, this was difficult...but I was able to manage. But given, it being so long since I'd used either of those, I was rather tired upon getting back home.

After a long nap, I decided to stop by the shop with the blooms. Not much went on there...just some sappy feien love. sweatdrop I wonder if Ares and Arturo are that bad? ...I won't spy on them, though. Ares is an adult now...she has her privacy.

Gods, what a day. It's a full moon out tonight...I bet ???? will be very happy with that. On a side note, while I was out I got a nice bouquet of flowers, and put them in a vase...next to the flower Arturo gave to Ares several weeks ago. (Which is still alive. I can't believe the care Ares gives that thing! O.o) I placed Merrimack on top of the bouquet...I hope it likes that.

Experiments for ????:
Cloth: cotton, wool, leather, silk, nylon (results: no result)
Freezer (result: reeeeeeaaaaaally good!)
Refridgerator (result: likes, no impact)

Note: full moon tonight...record any different reactions (Bloom seemed tired after exposure)

Experiments for Merrimack:
Cloth: cotton, wool, leather, silk, nylon (results: likes wool)
Metal shavings: iron, lead, steel, nickel, gold, silver, zinc (results: ...not good)
Time: haste (high speed), slow (low speed) (results: noooot gooood...)
Bouquet of flowers (and...Arturo's flower...actual kind unknown) (result: not good?? Seems it changed its mind about the flowers...)

There was an RP, so I thought. WAS....WAS DAMN IT! I looked everywhere, and couldn't find it. Then, I found Mizuhi, somehow inside the house. With bits of paper on the floor next to it. And bits of paper stuck in its teeth. The domo ate my RP!! gonk Actually, the RP couldn't be done for one reason or another and has now become null and void. ^.^;; Ah well. This was a better excuse.

Ares finally came back! crying And she has a tail! eek ...And...she seems to have changed quite a bit. sweatdrop

~~~~~~~~~~
Ares
I seemed to have been...gone. For quite a few days, it seems. I was very tired...when I woke up, Arturo was already there, ready to greet me. I can't remember if Corvus or Simon were about...much less did I truely care at that moment. All I wanted was to go home, and rest...I knew I wouldn't get a chance to see the blooms, as they were already gone when I awoke. It never occured to me while I was at Em's that something had even happened to me while I was asleep: a mutation...or rather, a second one. There is now a tail behind me...very similar to Tempest's, only mine is black and is about knee length. Needless to say, I feel rather...balanced...and grown used to this new appendage rather quickly. After resting for a while, I met Merrimack, one of the blooms from the breeding. The poor thing was shivering...it looked very frightened somehow. What did Neko do, I wonder? The bloom is very pretty...I can already tell it'll have Arturo and my looks.
Well, I have one burden lifted off my shoulders. No longer will I hurt Merrimack! Ares, from now on, will be taking care of the bloom...and she agreed very willingly. Figures...it's partially her bloom, anyway. No skin off my back...at least she's happy. 3nodding
So now I just have ????...which isn't too bad. I let it rest in the freezer for a while, and even took it to school with me (which was very difficult...I had to freeze the inside of a very small cooler and keep it frozen until I got home...I only hope I kept it cool enough). So it really likes the cold, huh? I wonder how it feels about actual ice...
So my experiment today: Ice... I got a small container, filled it with ice, and placed the bloom on it for a little bit. Afterwards, I played a little DDR...I swear my bloom was jumping around to the beat. sweatdrop Hmmm...ah well. Gotta love dance music.
~~~~~~~~~~

Ares

I am now in full change of Merrimack, due to Neko terrifying the poor bloom somehow. It should be in my care, anyway...it is, afterall, a result from my breeding with Arturo. I can only hope that my care will help him somehow.

Neko told me the few things she found out about the bloom through all her tests. So in the morning, I played a little bit of classical music for Merrimack. There was also a little classical jazz mixed in, so I hope it liked that. While the bloom listened to music, I decided to visit the shop momentarily, for the sake of seeing other feien again. There wasn't very many there...only San, Simon, Corvus, and Yasha. I think Maquinar was there, as well...I also had the feeling someone was watching me, but I couldn't tell. It's hard, since people seem to look at me all the time. I know I'm beautiful, but I prefer to be adored than just stared at.

After returning home, I decided to try wrapping the bloom in a little wool while I talked to it. I told Merri about some of the other feien, particularly Tosten and Arturo. Even now, I still think Tosten is like a love-starved child, even if he is very much loved. He lacks the attention of a woman...a motherly figure, persay. While I thing the feien is quite strange sometimes, usually silly all the time, I can't help but feel like I'm taking care of him somehow. Of course, I wouldn't go out of my way to care for him like I would Arturo or Merrimack...or Nero...or my other bloom...but Tosten is special, and always will be. I've already warned him about painting my sons or daughters, though...it simply won't be tolerated. And Arturo...

Aside from Tosten, I talked a great deal of Arturo. I told Merri about how wonderful its father is...how he fences, weaves. How he was a feien from before our time...a "before" feien, if you will. I told him about how handsome and kind, and caring...and loving..... I could go on with this for quite some time. I'm sure Merrimack may have gotten bored with me while I spoke to it, praising my love for so long, but once it meets Arturo, it will probably understand.

I also told it about myself, of course. I told Merri about my element, about my mutations, about how I was so different from the others. I'm sure that even I don't full understand myself, because I still feel very different from everyone, and lately...even different from Arturo. Is it wrong for me to feel so...superior? I don't feel any higher than Arturo of course...I hold a great respect for him, being from before. I felt like a princess before...and now I feel like a queen. I feel as if everyone is like my royal subjects... No matter. Even if I'm the one being...childish...I know one thing is for certain: Merrimack...will be my little prince or princess.

I took Merri to the shop with me when I decided to go back, and it met San and Tosten. San is a good feien...I hope the two of them will set good examples for my little one. Merri also got to meet his father today, and I got to meet little Nero. Nero...the bloom was mostly only bi-colored, red and blue. Merrimack, on the otherhand, carries all four of Arturo and my colors...five if you count the center in which is golden like its father's eyes. I wonder what the last one looks like...?

As I end my entry, Neko tells me I should write down all the experiments I had done to Merrimack, for reference. Experiments? The poor thing is not a test subject...I hope she didn't do such things with me. Well, if I must label what I did today anything, then I shall call it this: a mother's love. I merely hope that I alone will be enough to undo the damage Neko had done to my poor child.

Experiments for ????:
Ice (result: likes)
Music: Dance Dance Revolution (game) (result: likes!)

Experiments for Merrimack:
Mother's love (result: the bloom looks much stronger now)

Ooo!! What a nice surprise!! I come home from school, and there was a little feien waiting for me. ...Well, kind of waiting. I first only saw Ares, sitting on the desk, holding her head as if she were in pain. ...Then I realized she was actually covering her ears, and meditating. Now why would she be doing that?

Then, I saw the reason why. She was zooming around EVERYWHERE!! After several stops and squinting, I think I got a main description down...or at least, what it looks like to me, since the colors were all blurred at first: feather wings (this was a given, because I noticed a few small red and black feathers floating about in a couple of spots), squared markings, somewhat pale skin...there's red and black somewhere...and black hair. Oh, and female. Okay, so at first it wasn't all that great of an observation...you try looking at a feien who wouldn't sit still, and was literally asking about every single object within the room.

This lasted for an hour, I swear. All I could do was STARE, dumbfounded. Finally, she stopped in a red and black blur, right in front of my face. She looked at me, I stared at her more, and eventually she smiled and stated her name. Tahki?? Where did she come up wi--wait, that was a name I had considered while she was in bloom stage. Blayde-kun helped me...he said it was Algonquin for winter. That suits her, right? She seemed to like cold things... Well, anyway, now that I got a better look at her, I realized she was partially opposite of what I imagined someone liking cold would be: red and black feather wings, red and black squared markings that didn't cover too much of her body, pale-ish skin, gold eyes, and black hair with blue streaks. Tied up in two, tight buns...much like a Chinese hairstyle. My goodness...she may be pretty, but DAMN she has a lot of energy!! Maybe I shouldn't have played all that dance music...

I've also noticed that not only is she a curious little bugger, but she has a very short attention span. Seriously...Tahki was blabbing on about how cool everything looked, even though she didn't know what it was or what it did, and then noticed something she hadn't seen yet, zooming straight to it...only to find something ELSE and zooming over to that. ...Oh Gods, help me. crying

~~~~~~~~~~
Ares
This new feien is certainly a bother. She asks about something different every few minutes, and has even tried to already paint poor Merrimack. With my paints, AND my glitter. Such a child...more so than even Tosten it seems, sometimes. No matter...I layed down the law, and I can only hope she obeys. No one is painting this bloom...
Later that night, Tahki insisted on meeting others like ourselves...I laid down another law that no one orders me around. Especially not someone who was younger than me. I did, however, want to go, so I took her along, and also brought Merrimack as well. Tempest zoomed by by the time we had gotten there, however I did see Yeande. It's been quite a while since I had seen here...she's still as sweet as ever. Although, I didn't get to talk to her long...a shame, really. I just had gotten distracted, was all...Arturo came in, and with him was Nero...our first son.
Oh, little Nero...he's a very beautiful child. Incredibly long black hair with blue streaks, red and blue squared markings (red on one side, blue on the other), red and blue small bat-like wings, and little red and blue mini-wings on his head. They're quite adorable...and his eyes, gold like his father's. He seems to be polite...good mannered...I have a feeling he'll do very well. Yes...very well indeed.
Nero met Tosten yesterday...this was quite interesting. There was also another that had come in, but I didn't catch his name. I believe it started with an R, however... I only watched, though. I stayed back with Arturo and Merrimack, while my son played with Tosten, Tahki, and the other child feien. Merri...will you be like Nero, as well?
~~~~~~~~~~

Tahki

Oooo, this is very exciting!!! Neko has so many cool things, and I wanna know what they all do, and I wanna know what they all are and where they came from and
(It was left unfinished...)

It was so awesome!! Ares took me to see the shop and there was the really pretty black lady feien, and then there was a small yellow feien that rushed by me, and there was glitter!! It was pretty...red glitter!! I was some...maybe Neko will get me some!! I got glitter aaaaaaaaaaall over me, and I wanted to rub so (...Unfinished again)

Nero is so cool!! He kinda looks like me...except really pretty and with blue markings, and mini wings, and bat wings, and he's a guy!! But we have the same hair and eyes, it's so cool! I wonder if we're related?? ...Nah, couldn't be. Neko said she got me before Merri! And I think Merri is Nero's sibling. I'm not sure, I can't remember w (It seems Tahki left a lot of holes in her entry...)

I met Tosten while at the shop! He's really cool...he has a horn! I wanted to put glitter on it, but I got distracted and instead got glitter in my hair. The gem was talking to meeeee! So was the glitter, actually, before I played with it. And then the paint... Oh, oh! I met Ra...Rrrrr....Raaaaakkkkkk.............Ra, too! He has blue on him like Tosten, and streaks in his hair like me and Nero! And feathers like me, it was neat! He said something about names, and what his meant, and Nero said his name meant somet (This is getting irritating...I'll have to talk to Tahki about completing what she started.)

I got to paint the counter with Tosten! I tried to paint a moon, but I fell and got paint in my hair, and I think I made Tosten worry. Nooo, I didn't mean toooo! crying And and and then we went home, and Neko tried to give me a bath! The water felt weeeeird...it was too hot! But she made it cold, so it was okay. She couldn't get all the paint out of my hair, ha ha! And there's still some glitter as well...and I have glitter all over my hands still. Oh well! They're pretty! All nice, and shiney!

~~~~~~~~~~
Tahki...is quite the handful. Why couldn't she be more like Ares??? The yellow paint was very hard to wash, but I managed to get most of it out...though, her hair is now stained yellow for a while, and the glitter seems to be...stuck. It'll fall off it eventually, right? Her hands are another story, however. I remember Luca's...glitter "accident." I wonder...will it fall off, or is Tahki another destined "glitter feien?" No matter...it's kinda cute, actually. Not the paint, but the glitter...it seems to suit her. I just hope she doesn't decide to make a mess everywhere...
I've also noticed that...she stops doing the things she's asked not to do. Interesting. Ares had asked (or rather, told) her not to paint Merrimack, and she stopped trying. I asked Tahki not to pull on the cerebri's ears, and she hasn't since. Hmmm...obedient little one, isn't she? No complaints on my part, at least. Now that she's done with everything for the day, she decided to make the windowsill her sleeping area, so that she can see the moon. My, she really likes the moon...
May 21, 2004
Today seemed like it would be a good enough day. And I must say, it generally was. There's only a couple weeks left of school before my mun is forcing me to start working (I don't need money! stressed Go to work yourself! [Mun: Nyuuuu, I'm already being nagged into working! gonk ])...so needless to say, there isn't a lot to do at the moment. I only hope my feien will be alright since it won't be long before I'll be gone half the time... sweatdrop
Tahki looked bored, somewhat, fidgeting a lot due to her restrictions about playing with some of the dog/cat-like pets I have, so I decided to teach her a game she'd more than likely enjoy: Dance Dance Revolution. ...This had to be...the worst idea I ever had.
While she can't play on my dance pad, I made a piece of cloth with the arrows on it for her to step on (so while I play, she'll think she's playing too). One day, I may attempt to actually sit down and make her a little dance pad...however, only when I know she isn't going to move the darn thing everywhere. So when we started out, she was on the floor next to me, and was only following my feet. It hadn't occurred to me that she couldn't see the screen until the song finished, so I told her she should move up onto card-table I had out. Did she move there? No...she decided that the end-table was so much better. Of course, I was too into the game to notice where she'd actually gone. The second song went rather well (however, I think I heard Tahki falling quite a bit. She kept stumbling over her feet...), and I wanted to actually see how well she was doing for the third. Picking one I knew by memory, I turned towards the card-table...and there was nothing. Okay...quickly I looked about, and after a few beats found her on the end table. Did I forget to mention that said table was VERY slick?
I stopped completely and watched, dumbfounded, as Tahki tried to do the steps, stomping, teetering, wobbling, and tripping all the way. I know she didn't know any better...but...ARG!!! During her trips and stumbles, she'd knock into the vase I had on the little table. Of course, I couldn't see this...it was moving in the opposite direction I was looking in: backwards. While what happened next was probably one of the funniest things I've seen, it just plain made me angry. Tahki stomped down on the pad with her left foot, on the wrong arrow anyway, and as she lifted up her right to move, friction seemed to be at a loss due to the force of her stomping. So the cloth slipped, Tahki went flying, doing a couple summersaults in the air, and only had to bump into my Japanese style vase (this was a very old piece I had picked up about...oh, maybe 2 thousand years ago). While Tahki stayed in the air with her flight, I could only twitch as I finally saw my poor vase fall...no sooner had a moved maybe a foot had it landed on the ground and shattered. Into about 50 pieces.
~~~~~~~~~~

Ares

I suppose I'm a bit relieved that I wasn't at home when my bonder and Tahki decided to play that childish little game. I wouldn't have wanted to hear any of it, much less about it after it happened.

I've been meditating lately, to keep myself in check, if you will. I've found that playing the classical music Merrimack seems to like so much while doing this has helped me keep calm, as well as using my Minor Recall to see the forest the wood on Neko's desk came from. I've started to notice that this ability has been becoming more controlled, and that my flashes aren't as random as they once were. For instance, I touched the acorn bowl that contains the paint I have, wanting to use my ability, and it happened. I saw how it used to be an acorn, high up in a tree. I've also noticed that some of my flashes have been becoming a little bit longer...and clearer.

I decided to try to read Merrimack a book today, or at least part of one. It was a story called The Sword and the Stone... I've read this myself already, but I thought perhaps Merri would like to hear a little bit. Read this again has made me want to know more...I haven't read much about queens, and I was always curious about that. Most of the queens in fairy tales seemed, to me, quite pompous, evil, and worse than the king. Have I not read enough books? No matter...I asked Neko if she could find me a book about a real queen...a human queen from her world. Perhaps they are gentler when it's not a false story... I wonder, did the feien have a ruler before? What kind of ruler were they? I should ask Arturo.

While Neko and Tahki's little fiasco was going on, I had decided to go to the shop for a little bit with Merri. I'm happy that I did...Kam was there, and she had brought the third bloom with her. So beautiful...the bloom is almost entirely red, with just a little blue and golden color. It seemed to be doing well, thank goodness...Kam isn't destroying the poor thing like I'm sure Neko would have. Aria was there, as well. I don't quite understand why no one touches the blooms...they seem to need permission. I don't mind, truly, so long as they aren't hurting the poor things.

Kam had the idea that perhaps the third bloom could stay a night with Merrimack and I, so that it could feel more connected with its family. We'll need to arrange this soon...I'll see if Arturo would come as well, and bring Nero. Then, we could all be a family, if at least for one night. I told Kam that Arturo or I could always stop by, as well, were she having any problems with the bloom...perhaps having one of its parents around for at least a few moments would calm it were it to be distressed.

Tahki

Awwww, I did something bad today!! I didn't mean to, I promise!

Neko was playing this really fun dancing game. It was so neat! I had to stomp on these arrows (I think I'm stomping on them to kill the arrows that are moving up the screen), and I think I was doing pretty well because it kept saying something like..."perfect" on the screen! Neko was playing too...I think she killed a lot more than I did! There were even points!! I was tripping a lot, though...but I kept going! I never gave up! I

(There is a lot of random letters on the screen, like one were running along the keyboard, stopping on keys for a moment, and continuing on. There's about half a page of this.)

I broke Neko's pretty vase today! I didn't mean to, really really! It fell, though...and broke! Neko wasn't very happy with me...so I scolded myself, yes I did! I even sent myself into my room! There was so much to do in there...there was this little pile of feathers, that had bluuuuue, and reeeeeed, and I think I saw a black feather somewhere, but I can't find it now. But but there were a LOT of feathers! Like the ones that fell from Tosten's wings! The feathers were calling to me, I think. So I j

I got to paint! I found some paper lying around, and drew a pretty picture! It has the mooooon, and some staaaars, and I drew Neko! I hope she likes it, maybe it will cheer her up. Maybe she'll forgive me for breaking her vas

~~~~~~~~~~
I can't stay mad at her. She's too innocent for her own good...I know she didn't mean to, and I found that the vase MIGHT be fixable. Besides...even if it looks like a two year old did it, she drew me a picture, just to try to make me happy. Granted, it was on the report I had been working on for the last three days that's due on Monday...but I can reprint that. Looks like I have my work cut out for me...I should start thinking about "Tahki-proofing" the house...before it's destroyed. sweatdrop
Tahki
Oooooh, today was so much fun!! I decided to go to the shop aaaaaall by myself today. whee I got lost once, but I did make it!! I met Heiko there! She's really pretty! She reminds me of one of Neko's Japanese dolls she has around here somewhere (a lot of her stuff has disappeared for some reason...I wonder where they went??)!
(...OMG...Did she actually finish a paragraph?!)
Who did I see...? Lesse lesse...oh oh! Nero and Arturo showed up while I was there! And and I got to meet that feien lady that almost ran into me on my first day! Her name is Tempest. She has a taaaail! And and the pretty lady from before was there, too, but but she didn't seem too happy for some reason. I wonder what happen? (.....She's on a role!! eek Finally!! Maybe some of her entries will make complete sense!)
What else what else? Oh! Nero was being really nice to Tempest, and I heard that when you're being really nice to someone, you should probably leave them alone. Why is that? I wanted to be nice to Tempest toooo! But I decided to explore the shop a little bit, so I left them alone. And I got lost!! crying I was walking around, and I went under this daaaaaaark place, and I got loooost! Tempest saved me, though! Tempest saved me from the monster in the shadows! Tempest is my he (Nooooo!!! gonk I jynxed it!!)
I went home after the rescue, and Ares wasn't there. I wonder where she weeeent! She's always home with Mmmmm...Mmmmmmeeeeeerri......Merri! I wanted to make something for when Ares came back, but I reeeeeeaaaaaally wanted to use the pretty glitter she had! I hope she didn't mind...but but I had an accident! I picked up the glitter, and there was this loud sound, and I think I sneezed!! eek The glitter went EVERYWHERE!! It e
~~~~~~~~~~

Mrrr. I've been sleeping most of the day, so that I wouldn't be tempted to play with Merrimack while Ares was gone. I'm not sure why, but she said something about leaving for a while, muttering something about needed to relax a bit. She asked me to watch over Merri and make sure Tahki didn't get to it...but Tahki had left on her own not long after, so there wasn't anything for me to watch. Right? Right. So, I figured a cat nap was in order, as I didn't get much sleep last night since I was finding all my fragile objects around the house and putting them in a much safer place: the closet. I mean the one that Ares and Tahki aren't allowed into. Yeah...they'll be safe in there...yeah...

Well, I slept pretty much through the whole day. One of my domos must have been mad at me or something, because Mizuhi decided to sneak inside the house and chomp down on my hand. That HURT!! Unfortunately, I had kinda...screamed my feral scream...so it was much louder than it would normally have been, and different in general. I hope I didn't scare Tahki if she was back...which, it turned out I did. My ears pick up even the smallest sounds...I heard a sneeze coming from my room and decided to check it out, because I'd hate to see Ares or Tahki get sick. Lo and behold, I AM A FOOL!! My Gods, I should have kept Merri with me...damn it! Whatever Tahki did, she got Ares' magic glitter ALL OVER Merrimack. So now it's...very shiney. Aaaarrrg, Ares is gonna kill me!! I know it was an accident (and I know Tahki was sorry for it, because she was trying to clean it up before I got in there...she was also covered in glitter, needless to say)...but still. I wonder if this will affect Merri at all when it arrives...?

RP that occured May 22, 2004: (From the shop)

Nero stopped spinning and offered Tempest a brilliant smile. "You're a sweet girl," he commented shamelessly.

Tahki blinked a few times, thinking perhaps she should leave them alone, and fluttered to the floor. Wooooow, everything's so big!! she thought, only just realizing this. Her little feet began to walk her around, looking at the new sight of things.

Tempest turned a little more red, but smiled. "You think so?"

"'Course I do," Nero replied innocently. "Lying is a bad thing, after all!"

Tempest nodded, giggling. "It's the truth!"

She blinked and peered around. "Where'd Takhi go?"

Tahki continued to wander about on the floor, her golden eyes peering this way and that. Her feathers ruffled a little, as she suddenly felt a little lost, having gone under the table. "It's...dark...." she whispered, stating the obvious.

Tempest flittered down towards the floor, staying a foot or so above the surface (horray for insect-like hovering wingpower!). She looked around, peering into the shadows, slowly turning in place. "Tahki?"

"Mmm?" Tahki looked around a moment, not quite sure where the voice had come from. She couldn't see too well, only walking deeper into the shadows, curious as so what was on the other side. "Hello?" she called.

Tempest's ear twitched and she turned in the direction she thought she heard Tahki's voice from. "Tahki?"

She sat there in the air for a moment, wondering if it was wise to go looking for someone who had obviously gotten lost or stuck...but her curiosity quickly got the better of her, and she flew under the desk after her new friend.

Tahki could hear a soft hum coming from somewhere. "..Hellooooo??" she called again. The humming was only growing louder.

Wait, what was it? Was it another feien? Or was there a monster lurking in these shadows? She frowned slightly, her hands grasping onto her arms. She began to walk faster, her red and black wings folding a little closer to her body, a couple feathers floating off here and there.

Tempest swooped around, looking for Tahki...though it was in vain, because she couldn't see much beyond her own face.

I envy Tempest! He could make a light, I know it...

She clenched a fist and set her jaw, determined to go on, light or no....

....and promptly got hit in the face by a couple of feathers. Her concentration broken, she dropped to the ground - thankfully, on her feet. She held up the two feathers - one red, one black (though she couldn't see that in the dark) - and blinked.
"Huh??"

Whatever was back there, it seemed to be following her. "Um...um..."

There was a faint light ahead. And it was calling to her.

Head towards the liiiight...
But...but what if you're bad??
The liiiiight...
But but but...you could be tricking me!
The liiiiiiight!!

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!" came her screeching voice as her hands pressed against her head, feeling something brush past her. Oh goodness, oh goodness! What do I do, what do I do??? she thought, several things rushing through her mind. Wait...the light! That's it! I'll just...no, it might be a monster...

Taking another step forward, she heard an odd sound. Very soft stepping...too many times within a second to be normal. "H...H...Hello...?"

Tempest blinked a little blindly at the feathers. I wish there was more light. Maybe they're Tah--

That train of thought got completely derailed as she heard a scream in the darkness....right by her. Her hair stood on end and her wings went straight up, and she almost cast Giant Strength in reflex. "Tahki? Tahki!?"

Tahki blinked a few times, hearing the now familiar voice. "Hm?"

Turning a little bit, she could only see a figure in the darkness. "Mmmmm?? Tempest?"

Tempest blinked in the darkness, and caught sight of a familiar-shaped darker shadow amongst the lighter ones. "Tahki! I was worried, you disappeared...and then SCREAMED!"

Tempest winced at the memory. "You scream really loud."

Tahki blushes slightly, out of embarressment. "S-sorry! I thought you were a monster..."

Then the thought occurred to her. Maybe there WAS a monster, and it was still lurking in the shadows? "M-maybe we should get out of here...curiousity killed me enough for one day!" she whimpered, trying to take hold of Tempest's arm.

Tempest giggled a little, but took Tahki's arm and started leading her towards the light, and out from under the table. She talked to Tahki to try to keep the poor feien focused...maybe her poor attention span was just because she was so new?

"There's not much under here, is there? Just dust."

If Tempest could see me now, he'd laugh himself sick! I'm gonna kick him for it.

Tahki nodded, still clinging to Tempest's arm. Coming back into the light, she released her, once again rather embarressed. "I'm sorry, I wanted to see what was under there! It was all dark, and creepy, an-- OOO!"

Already, she seemed to forget about. She rushed over towards a feather on the ground, red in color. Of course, she had no idea that it was her own. "Feather!" she said, smiling as she picked it up.

Tempest blinked in the light, and watched as Tahki ran up to a very familiar feather. She held up one of the two in her hand..and looked from Tahki's wings, to Tahki's feather, to the red feather in her hand, and back again.

"Um...Tahki? That's....."

She took a good look at the joy on Tahki's face, and giggled. "Nevermind!"

She rocked back and forth on her heels for a moment, but finally decided it was time she headed home. Getting her wings humming, she took off and waved goodbye to her new friend. "Bye, Tahki! It was fun meeting you!!"

She took off out the window, flittering in her usual happy, lively, erratic pattern.

"Awww, goodbye Tempest!" she called, waving wildly. "I hope to see you again sometime!!"

Thinking for a moment, she looked around, not seeing anyone around. Blinking a few times, she wondered if Nero had left while she was under the table...but without saying anything? Well, it wasn't really her business...though this did make her a little sad. Lingering in her spot a moment longer, she finally took flight, making her way to the window sill. Very carefully, Tahki placed the feather she found down, smiling happily. "There you go, Mr. Feather! Now you can enjoy the night too!" she said to it, looking out the window. There was no moon tonight...shucks.

"Well, I need to go home now...goodnight Mr. Feather!" she called to it, waving as she made her way clumsily out the door.

RP that occured May 22, 2004: (From the shop and IM)

Ares yawned softly as she glided into the shop, not spotting the group near the window at first. Landing on the counter, she stretched her arms a bit before turning to face the shop, her three eyes looking about. Her tail curled up a little, and she spotted only familiar faces today.

Smiling slightly, she took flight again, making her way over to the window.

Strong arms caught her around the waist and she received a kiss on the back of her neck, right under the jaw and ear - a feien hotspot. "Evening," Arturo purred silkily into her ear.

Ares blushed softly, easing into his arms a little. My...that was certainly a different feeling. Much different from the other tingling sensations she'd felt from kisses...this one, however, she very much liked.

"Hello," she said softly, her red lips still in a smile.

Arturo's arms tightened slightly around her waist as he rested his chin on her shoulder. "I haven't seen you lately," Lately being only a few days, but they felt much longer to Arturo.

Ares ran a finger up his arm, still being so much shorter than him, her hands folding together behind his neck. "I'm sorry...perhaps I have been spending too much time with Merri..." she said softly. Which, was more than likely true. This was the first time since she'd gotten back that Merrimack wasn't with her.

Heiko blinked and snapped out of her sleep-like trance. She looked around, noticing one new Feien she did not know..and Ares in Arturo's arms.
She slowly stood once more and rubbed her eyes, stretching her wings. She blinked again, just now noticing something...her eyes quickly darted back to Ares...She had grown! And she was rather beautiful. Heiko looked towards Nero...then back at Ares and Arturo..and it all clicked in her head.

"Good evening Ares.." She smiled, but took flight and hoved for a moment, thinking it was time to go home in a moment.

Ares turned, smiling to Heiko. "Hello...it's been a long time," she said softly, waving a couple fingers still behind Arturo's neck. "Heiko...have you met my son?"

Her tail curled a little, pointing towards Nero.

Arturo smirked, letting his fingers trail lazily up her stomach before tickling her slightly. Chuckling, he ceased his assault and reluctantly let go of Ares, moving to hover in front of her. "And how is Merri?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.

"Oh, he seems to be fine...no better, no worse, it seems," she told him, holding her stomach where he had tickled her. She ran a hand through her short blue hair, resting that hand on her neck. "I'm going to start backing away, though. So that he's not...too clingy?"

Heiko smiled, nodding. "Yes..it's been a while."
She blinked, her thought was right.."I indeed have. He's very pretty..and very polite. He has been raised well."

Ares smiled slightly, hugging Arturo gently. "And that's all thanks to this one," she replied to Heiko.

Arturo nodded towards Heiko, a bit upset that she was interrupting their moment. Then again, they were somewhere public. "Indeed. I've been raising Nero. Though he's a good child on his own."

Heiko nodded at Ares,"You both must be very proud. Also..I am assuming you have more children..or no? I bet they are as beautiful, if not more, than Nero." She looked to Nero once more, smiling. The combination of Ares and Arturo was wonderful.

"I don't think any of them could be more beautiful than Nero," Arturo said, his eyes sliding over to his son. Almost unconsciously, he slipped his hand into Ares'.

Heiko smiled, nodding at Arturo. "You're right.."
She looked down and sighed, then looked up towards the clock.
"It's late..I should be heading home now... Congrats to both of you on the children. I cannot wait to meet the others and see how beautiful they are."
She bowed her head and hovered a bit higher, drifting slowly towards the door. She passed all the Feien and turned to face them.
"Goodnight Ares, Arturo, and Nero.." At that, she quickly turned and flew through the door.

Ares blinked a few times, her tail curling slightly, gripping lightly onto Arturo's hand. "I think the three of them will be equally beautiful..." she said quietly.

She waved her free hand to Heiko, wishing her a silent goodnight.

Arturo watched Heiko go, then turned to Ares, offering her one of his rare, seductive smiles. "Just like their mother," he purred, brushing his fingers down her cheek. He added, more seriously, "I've missed you."

Ares smiled, leaning her head into his hand slightly. "And I you...I feel that I don't see you often enough."

Arturo led Ares over to the window sill and sat down, pulling her close to him. "I know," he said, almost sadly. He stroked her fingers softly and gazed at her with serious yellow eyes, intense as ever. "I hope to remedy that." Leaning forward, he placed a finger under her chin and tilted her head up, kissing her warmly.

Ares blinked a few times, not quite expecting this. She kissed him back, however, blushing slightly. Though, she wondered if it was appropriate to be doing this where they were, especially with younger feien so close by.

Arturo pulled back reluctantly and smirked. "Not the time or the place, hmm?" he said, as if reading her mind.

Ares smiled slightly, nodding. "Perhaps I'm what humans like to call, "old fashioned" when it comes to something like this," she said calmly. "Perhaps...we could go elsewhere..."

Arturo smirked. Standing, he motioned for her to follow and dived gracefully out the window.

And of course, Ares followed behind.

Arturo paused for a moment just below the window, gazing quietly at the sky above. Checking over his shoulder for a moment to make sure Ares was following, he shot up towards the roof, landing carefully upon the slope. He waved for her to come up.

Ares blinked a few times, stopping abruptly upon seeing Arturo dash towards the roof, and quickly followed after. Had she had claws on her fingers and toes, she'd probably look like a gargoyle because of her tail, especially in the darkness of the night. Landing next to him, her tail immediately began to move about, helping her find her balance.

Arturo gently took her hand in his and nodded his head upwards. "You can't see the stars as well here. Too much light. Where I'm from, we were in the middle of a forest. If you went up past the trees, there were stars everywhere." He snorted briefly. "One time, three friends and I stayed up the whole night, counting stars. We dozed off after we got to 1,551." Arturo sighed, not quite understanding where this bout of nostalgia had come from. Turning to Ares, he offered her the charming smile he so rarely showed everyone and shrugged. "I'd like to take you there some day."

Ares smiled, looking up towards the sky for a moment. She remembered how Aki used to sit with her on the roof and point out constellations to her, since the stars could be seen so well where Neko lived. Gripping his hand lightly, she nodded to him. "I would love to go with you, Arturo. It's where you used to live, am I right?"

Arturo nodded, then laughed. "New Milford, Conneticut. Outside of a sleepaway camp." He stared down at his plastic rapier and continued, "They had a fencing instructor there. He'd give lessons every day for two months - I'd watch every lesson. I'm a metal feien, so making myself a rapier wasn't hard, and I'd spar with my friends to get better. But then they started dying off. So I snuck into the counselor's cabin and stole his book on fencing." A rueful smirked crossed his lips. "And then I started to teach myself."

"How did you manage to steal the book...?" she asked a bit curiously. All this talk about the older feien...it reminded her of a question she'd been meaning to ask. "Arturo...can I ask you something?"

Arturo ran the back of his longer fingers down Ares' cheek. "Anything, love," he muttered.

Ares moved her head slightly, to rub a little more against his fingers. She closed her eyes as she thought, her wings folding down over her bare shoulders. "I'm curious. The feien from before...did they have a ruler of some kind?"

Arturo nodded. "There was a council - the High Council. The wisest and most powerful feien were the Council members."

"The wisest and most powerful..." she echoed softly. Of course, she knew she'd never be powerful. But...maybe wise? "Sometimes I can't help but wonder what it was like to be from before," she said softly.

Arturo snorted, but he smiled. "We lived in colonies. There was some contact between colonies, but for the most part we were on our own. Took care of one another. There wasn't all this... animosity, like there is now. I mean - yes, there was. But I suppose it wasn't as obvious." He leaned back on his elbows and pulled his ponytail over his shoulder, the white hairs tipped in black glowing in the moonlight.

Ares moved a little closer to him, reaching up a hand and touching his hair lightly. It was quite beautiful, to her, seeing it glowing the way it was. "Are we the only ones left, Arturo? Or are there other feien still out there somewhere?"

"If there are, they're probably dying," Arturo snorted. He reached up and held her hand against his chest, squeezing it slightly. "Corvus is the sole means of maintaining our species for now. It's not such a bad thing, really." he said, shrugging. "I mean, yes, it's sad. But at least we're not extinct."

"Yes," she admitted, leaning over and snuggling against him a little, leaning her head gently against his shoulder. "It's hard to imagine what things would be like had nothing been done. Aside from...everyone being gone."

Her tail curved up slightly, tickling Arturo's knee unintentionally.

Arturo jumped slightly at the contact and bit down on his lip, stifling a groan. He had no idea whether Ares had done that intentionally - but either way, he didn't really mind. Smirking, Arturo wrapped his arm around her waist and chuckled, rubbing her bottom lip with the pad of his thumb. "I suppose we should focus on the here and now, then?" he purred.

The tip of Ares' tail flicked a little happily, her red lips curving into a slight smile as she felt that tingling feeling again. She kissed his thumb softly before replying, "Yes, I have a feeling that would probably be better."

Arturo laughed and let his thumb trail up her cheek, following her jawline to that small space where the ear met the neck. Rubbing it softly with his thumb, he smirked lazily. "It's nice to be alone with you."

Ares took in a quick breath, closing her eyes at the touch, feeling her cheeks burn with blush. "Yes...I don't think we've been alone for some time now," she replied softly, sighing a little out of pleasure.

Arturo chuckled again and drew his hand away, patting Ares lightly on the cheek. "Tell me about Merri?" he asked, smiling.

"Mmm? You asked about it earlier," she smirked, opening her eyes halfway. "I would hope it's still fine."

"I mean... what have you found out?" Arturo pressed the palms of his rough hands together and smirked. "Anything about his personality? Or her's, I suppose."

"So far, it likes classical and jazz music, and wool," she replied, leaning back against the roof. "Oh, and that he likes me." She couldn't help but giggle a little bit. "Otherwise, I know nothing else..."

"However, I get this strong feeling still that Merri is a boy."

Arturo raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?"

"Neko said it was something called a "woman's intuition"...I only think that way because the bloom resembles you so much," she explained. "Of course, I could be wrong...a refined woman would like classical and jazz...I suppose the wool throws me off a bit, as I heard men tend to wear that more than women."

Arturo chuckled and flapped his miniwings with excitement. "I can't wait until they all bloom. I wonder if they look anything like Nero?" He tilted his head in thought.

"Well, if they don't look like him, I say they'll all certainly be as beautiful," she smiled, closing her eyes for a moment. A part of her wondered if any of them would have a third eye like hers.

"Of course," Arturo chortled, kissing Ares softly. "My love, they couldn't be anything but."

"You're right," she smirked, kissing him back. "With attractive feien like us, I wouldn't expect anything less."

"Mmm, and so modest," he teased, flicking his head to push his bangs out of his eyes.

"But true, nonetheless." She rested her hands on her stomach, looking over at him, having leaned back against the roof. "Or am I wrong?"

Arturo shifted so that he was laying on his side, elbows resting against the roof. Resting his chin in his hand, he stretched his arm across the distance between them and drew patterns over Ares' stomach. "You're the most beautiful creature I've ever seen." he said, voice completely sincere.

Ares smiled slightly, trying to ignoring the ticklish feeling of him drawing patterns. "Hmmm...does that mean I can get away with calling you the most handsome?" she asked.

Arturo chuckled and scooted closer to Ares, draping his arm over her waist. "Only if you feel it's true," he purred, kissing her nose.

Ares couldn't help but giggle slightly. She usually was much calmer than this, but she felt a little strange tonight...not a bad thing, really, but it was a little new to her. "I certainly do, Arturo," she said softly.

Arturo carefully drew a bit closer, chin pressed against his chest so he could look down at her. Smirking, he leaned his mouth close to her ear and asked, "Do you need to be anywhere any time soon?"

Ares' red lips curved up into a little smirk, her eyes closing halfway. "Not until I want to go back home," she whispered.

"Good," Arturo smirked, pressing his lips against Ares'.

So this was an interesting weekend. Remember how I said Ares was kind of missing? She came back the next day, and I swear she was glowing. I don't know HOW or WHY a feien would be glowing, but she seemed to be generally happy. ...At least, before she saw Merri. I called it...even if she didn't SHOW she was angry, I knew she was very mad. And I thought little Sasuke's brooding was bad...she wouldn't talk to me all day. ...But she did seem to like having Sasuke around. He was content with brooding in her lap while she was brooding on my window sill. And meditating. She's been doing that a lot lately...I wonder if that's normal? So anyway...

We tried to get the glitter off of Merri this morning. No use...we got a lot of it off, but it was still glittery, and Tahki had only gotten worse. I gave her a good scrub as a slight punishment, but even THAT wouldn't come off. At least you can still tell it's her now...

Ares

I will not be discussing what happened the other night, much to Neko's dismay. It isn't her business, and she can figure it out on her own. All I will say is that I got a night of...relaxation. No worries, no feien, just me and the feien I love.

I wasn't very happy coming home to Merri being covered in my magic glitter. Of course, I immediately knew Neko was to blame...I asked her to watch over my bloom and she failed. Tahki didn't escape my talk with her, either. To make sure I wouldn't get angrier, I decided to stay away from the two, but Sasuke insisted he stay with me. I must admit, he's quite cute...this little pixacat. Not my idea of a good personality, but he seemed to be a protector. He even watched over me and made sure no one pestered me while I was meditating. I'd ask to keep him, but I knew Sasuke would prefer not to be around constantly.

So this morning, feeling much better, Neko and I began to try getting the glitter off of Merri. We used the gum she'd gotten for me...as well as water, wool, and I think she tried tape. Carefully, though...that didn't work at all. We were able to get most of the glitter off with the gum (and my hands are black and blue now from the glitter...it won't come off). After resting a while, I decided to stop by the shop to see if there might have been any information on the magic dust. I saw Yeande and Seamus there. Yeande seems to have grown...cold...for some reason, but I did appreciate her help (even if it was what I had already tried). I had a long talk with Seamus, as well. We've set things straight...and all has been forgiven. An unknown burden has lifted off my shoulders, and my heart is finally at ease knowing he is all right now.

Tahki

Neko gave me a goooooood scrubbing today! It kinda hurt...but that's because the glitter was all sticky and wouldn't come off! So now I'm all shiiiiiiney and preeeeeetty and gliiiiitery!! It's fun! I like it! I

Today was quite eventful. Before the others awoke, I went to the Pixapet shop to see if I could get a little surprise for Tahki and Ares (Tahki wouldn't stop talking about a little tiger another feien had, so I thought I'd see about getting her a pet). They had the most adorable tiny leopard! I just had to get him for Tahki...he's a jumpy little guy, though. Hopefully he'll get along with Tahki...
User Image

While at the shop, they were holding a raffle, so on a whim I decided to participate. Now, originally I had only gone to get a pet for Tahki...Ares would get one when Merri arrived. Well, turns out I was one of the four winning tickets for the raffle. So, Ares got a little sheepdog...he's quite cute, actually. He's black...and looks to be a guard-dog. Perhaps he can protect Merri...?
User Image

While I was there, I donated a little for a good cause, and got a little cat for myself. She's so cute! She suits me so well...

Off to home I went! And boy, was I in for a big surprise. Merri was there! He's so gorgeous! So precious! Absolutely stunning! ....And he hates me! gonk As soon as Ares mentioned my name to him, he cowered and hid from me like I were about to eat him or something. I'm not the pleague, damn it! crying I'll never do an experiment again! gonk ...At least on the feien.

Ares

I awoke this morning to find a child clinging to my waist. At first, I didn't understand, as he wasn't Tahki, but I was quite pleased as I noticed the closed eye in the middle of his forehead, like my own. Merri...this was Merrimack, my son.

There is no mistake about it, Merri is a very beautiful child. Red bat-like wings, black squared markings, light skin tone like his father, short white hair with blue tips, and three beautiful orange eyes. Merri....Merri. My son...my second son.

It's quite obvious that Merri is very afraid of Neko, and even a little bit of Tahki. Though, I can understand...my poor boy was probably scared because of the demon hanyou, and Tahki could probably scare any new arrived feien. Thank the stars that Merri didn't come out glittery, however. I just hope he won't turn out to be anything like Tahki.

Neko brought home a few more tiny animals today. There was a dog she'd decided to give me. He's rather...pleasent, I must say. I don't mind him the least bit. Seems to be protective of me, as well...though he doesn't seem to like Sasuke. He's only wary of Merick, and likes being near Kori. Merri was scared at first, but it didn't take long for him to start liking Laharl. I wonder...perhaps I should see about giving the pup to him instead.

I took Tahki and Merri to the shop today, but Merri wouldn't leave my side. At least, until Nero smothered the boy with love. I met my beautiful daughter, Ruya, as well. So they arrived the same day...and they look a lot alike. Red with black outlined wings and squared markings, pale skin like her father, beautiful golden eyes, red mini-bat wings like Nero, and hair that was half white and half blue. She looks so much like Arturo...and Merri looks so much like myself. Nero became a bit crestfallen because of this, but I assured him that just because he looked different, didn't mean we loved him less. Arturo and I love all three of them just the same...they are our children. They always will be.

Merrimack

I don't understand why I have to write in here. I don't want to, I have no interest to, and I'll only write when I WANT to. ...Maybe when mommy tells me to, as well. ...Since I'm already writing, I guess I'll write a little bit about the day.

I met my horrible bonder. I don't like her...not one bit. She scares me, and I never want to see her. She hurt me...what if she hurts me again? I hope mommy will protect me from that horrible woman...

Tahki has no respect for people's privacy, nor does she seem to have enough commen sense to stay away from people. She...she TOUCHED me. I thought she was going to hurt me...I thought everyone was going to hurt me save for mommy. The only reason I knew who mommy was was because she had the eye...the third one. Like me. But...I guess Tahki isn't too bad. So long as she doesn't try to hurt me...

Mommy took me to the shop so I could meet the others. Nero scared me at first...only because I didn't know it was him. Family won't hurt me, right? So my fear of him was over quickly. I like Nero...Nero said he'd protect me. Ruya, too...my sister. ...Am I the only one who thinks she looks like my twin? I met daddy as well...I have to admit, he scared me. He scared me a lot. He's so big...and looks really strict. I hope he doesn't make me learn how to use that stupid stick he was playing with...I don't want to. All I want is to rest.

There. I wrote. Now I will sleep.

May 28, 2004

Today was pretty quiet around here. I woke up this morning and found that Ares was gone. I've decided not to ask about it anymore, since I can't keep a very good track on her lately...I trust her enough to come home when she's ready to. Though, it does make me wonder if it's because of the sudden new member of the house. For people who know me well enough, you'd know that there aren't very many male ANYTHING that live here...there's no real reason for that, it just happened. Most of my celestrus are female, most of my cerebis are male to balance that out, an even number of sphrions, and the domos have no gender. And then there's my many female spirits, and only two males amoung them. ...Needless to say, my home is ruled by the female gender, and it wasn't my fault that happened. Perhaps it's the fact that we're sharing the house now with a much bigger male...as in, taller than me (though I can't say he's taller than Juubei). ...Well, okay, so that's not saying much since I'm rather short, but hey. Juubei isn't around enough to count. And I just realized I'm rambling.

So anyway, I'm going to back off Ares a bit, as Tahki is the one that needs the most attention. She likes the others a bit too much, and it's already getting on their nerves. This is almost as bad as when Kori (my butterfly puppy spirit) was always running around hugging everybody. Every two seconds. I made the suggestion of going to the shop, and she immediately thought I was asking her to find Ares. So while Merri was still sleeping (he...seems to sleep quite a bit), she abducted him and took him along. Kicking and nearly screaming. Okay...so now my feien are all out for the day. Perhaps this could be a good thing.

It took me a while to figure out that even my spirits were gone. All eight of them. ...What's going on here? Is it "leave Neko alone" day today? The cerebri were actually behaving, the celestrus were even staying in their new room. Even the domos weren't sneaking in today! (I found out later that Juubei played a big role in all of this. He noticed I was getting pretty stressed lately, especially during his lessons with me, and went as far as asking everyone to let me have peace today. To let me relax. Oh Juubei...I owe him big time, that's for sure.)

For the first time in probably two months, I was allowed to spend a quiet, stress-free afternoon and evening kind of by myself. I can't exactly do anything about Domonic, but I don't really have to worry too much about him; he has the hardest time talking to any woman, friend or stranger, and can't stop blushing when around them. It's...cute, actually. However, not the kind of guy I'm looking for. Maybe spending some time with me may help him... Needless to say, we didn't talk too much.

The others came back pretty late. Ares returned maybe a few hours before Tahki and Merri, and the spirits were already sleeping when I went to check up on them. Maybe I owe EVERYONE...hopefully, I'll get more days like this without someone planning it.

Ares

Juubei is always up with the sun. It's typical for a ninja, I suppose...though I find it odd since he's really a demon. Something had been troubling him, so he asked to speak with me not too long after dawn. A man hanging from the ceiling first thing in the morning is quite an interesting wake-up call.

He was explaining to me about how Neko had seemed to be really out of it lately, even lacking in her more recent martial art lessons. (So THAT'S why Neko's been dressing strangely.) He suggested maybe letting her have a day to relax...so Juubei's sending everyone away? I suppose that works...makes sure that no one will bother her. I agreed to go, since I was planning on visiting a forest I'd discovered recently. Neko told me she used to live in the mountains that the forest lead to...I wanted to try to find that place. I took off after Juubei had left.

The forest was quite beautiful, and very peaceful. Perhaps that's where I can go when I want to be alone. I had taken Laharl with him, since he insisted on coming along, and he seemed to enjoy it as well. I wish I had brought some food with me, though...I had gotten rather hungry. On the down side, I didn't make it to the place Neko was talking about, but I did get as far as a mountain trail. It was very worn, though...is that really the trail to Neko's old home? I'll have to investigate another time. Perhaps if I used that spell... head start, I think it was called, I could get to the trail quicker and see where it leads.

The stars are very beautiful there. Even at Neko's there weren't as clear as I had gotten to see them this night. It reminded me of Arturo...how he said he wanted to take me to his old home one day. I wonder...are the stars like this there, too?

Merrimack

Stupid Tahki. She made me go with her when she was asked to go to the shop. She was screaming something about searching for mommy...couldn't she go by herself?

There were so many feien at the shop...I didn't like it. I thought they were going to hurt me, so I hide behind Ruya. Just as I was about to go to sleep, she moved! Hmph...she could have told me she was going to move. And then, just as I was about to take a nap, some girl feien showed up. What is it with all of them...? They're so scary...and she had the nerve to follow me when I was trying to get away! I tried to hide...she was staring at me. Why was she staring at me...? And then she...she touched me before she left. She messed up my hair, and she left. I was so scared, I thought I would die...but, it didn't hurt. She didn't hurt me...I didn't get a good look at her, but she was yellow, and had a tail like mommy. Who was she? Why was she so...bold...like Tahki? ...Why didn't she hurt me...?

After that, Tahki dragged me back home, and mommy was already back. ...I don't ever want to go anywhere without mommy again.

Tahki

(...The entire page was filled with random letters, numbers, punctuations...there were no real words for one reason or another. The only thing I can assume is that Merick got loose from Tahki's grasp and they were running all over the keys...)

Neko stepped in through the front door sadly, pushing it closed with her foot. She sighed as she leaned her back against the wooden door, running a hand through her red flipped hair, resting her hand on the back of her neck. This wasn't good...not good at all.

"Neko's home, Neko's home!!!" Tahki rejoiced, through her little hands into the air. She was painting on the table, a large sheet of newspaper underneath her to prevent the paint from splattering on the white cloth. She was getting smarter, it seemed. "But Neko dun look so good..."

Neko's golden eyes were a little blank, shaking her head at the red and black feien, looking up towards the stairs. "Where's Ares and Merri?" she asked quietly, standing up straight, her tail flicking slightly behind her.

"Uuuum...Merri's sleeping on the couch, and Ares is reading something up in the room!" the little feien smiled, waving the paintbrush towards the stairs, red paint splattering lightly onto the paper and her arm.

The demon hanyou nodded slowly, and began to make her way up the carpeted stairs, her black fingerless-gloved hands clinging to the railing for support. Upon reaching the door to her bedroom, Neko stopped, and leaned quietly against the wooden doorframe.

Ares sat on the pages of a large book, standing so that she could move down the page easier. She seemed to already be about half way through the book, her three red eyes fixated on the tiny letters that made up the alphabet. Her black tail flicked curiously behind her as she read each word with interest, her black and blue wings folded over her shoulders like a cape. The adult feien had her hair tied back with a piece of blue string so that her two longer locks wouldn't get in her way.

Not really wanting to interrupt the feien's reading, Neko reluctantly spoke. "Ares? I need to talk to you," she said softly, a hint of pain stuck in her tone.

"Can I wait?" Ares asked calmly, not looking up from the book. "I'm in the middle of reading."

"It's important...otherwise, I would wait."

Ares sighed softly, finally looking over to her bondmate. Sadness was etched onto Neko's face, she knew, as she looked at the demon hanyou. "Yes?"

The other hesitated, finally stepping into the room and closing the door behind her. The other two didn't need to hear about, since it only dealt with Ares. They didn't know, nor would they understand. She looked towards the ceiling for a moment, her ears drawing back, trying to figure out how to say what she needed to say.

"Ares, I know you may not want to hear this...and more than likely not from me, but you need to know. I..." Neko paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to calm down. "...I'm not sure how it happened, but I just found out that S-Seamus..."

Ares rose an eyebrow at her, sitting down on the book she was reading. "That Seamus what?" she asked curiously.

Neko began to drum her fingers against her thigh, trying to find the heart to say it. "Seamus....Seamus has turned into a gem..."

The feien blinked a few times, not seeming to understand at first. Had she heard correctly? Her friend, whom she spoke to only a few days ago, was now some sort of gem? She had heard from somewhere that feien gemstones were actually feien that had died. So Seamus...died? "Pardon?"

"He's dead, Ares...I don't know how it happened, but...he's dead. He's become a gem..."

Well, it was a good thing Ares was already sitting. While the news was rather unsettling and disturbing, she was still unusually calm for such an event. She swallowed hard before taking in a deep breath. "I-I see," was all she said before closing her eyes. "...If you don't mind, I'd like to be alone for a while."

Neko watched as both Sasuke and Laharl immediately padded up to the adult feien, the shinobi kitten hopping into her lap and the little sheepdog sitting obediently next to her. Neither seemed to speak at the moment, but knew their master might need them. The demon hanyou nodded slightly, and made her exit out of the room, leaving the three to themselves.

Several hours later, Tahki went to investigate the room, Merick slipping underneath the door to look inside. After a moment of muffled conversations, the tiny leopard poked his head out from under the door, looking up at his owner a little sadly. "They said she's not there, and the window's open," he informed her.

"Oh!" The red and black feien quickly rushed back down the stairs, fluttering quickly over to her bond who was reading on the couch. She nearly crashed into the woman's arm. "Neko Neko! Ares ran away!"

"It's alright, Tahki," Neko replied, not too surprised. She seemed to expect Ares would go off somewhere to cope with this. "If I know Ares, she more than likely went to see Arturo, or she'd out in the forest nearby. She'll come back when she's ready."

"Are you suuuuure?" Tahki asked curiously.

"I'm positive. Why don't you go...play with those mini cards I gave you. You remember how to play 'Around the Clock', don't you?"

"Come play with me?" she pleaded.

Neko blinked a few times, closing her book and setting it down on the couch next to her. It couldn't hurt, right? It would get her mind off today's events for a while, at least. "Alright, go get them."

"YAAAAAY! Old Maid, Old Maid!!" Tahki sang, darting off to find the cards.

Neko groaned, holding a hand to her head. What had she gotten herself into?
