Kain had discarded his clothes besides his boxers and went into the water. How could Hydra do that to him? Just because she got into a spat with Akio? He was hurt and frustrated. Not to mention furious.

Hydra kicked at the ground and stumbled down the hill towards the lake. She got up, once at the bottom and just stared into the blackness of it, admiring it's deepness and mystery. She did not notice Kain in the water. She walked towards the water slowly and then let it touch her toes, which sent cold shivers throughout her body. She waded into the cold water, letting herself become numb to it. She closed her eyes as weeds wrapped themselves around her legs. Everything was calm here.

Kain came up for air, but his back was facing Hydra. The water had calmed him a bit, but he was still upset. He ran his hands through his wet hair and sighed, kind of loudly.

Hydra's eyes shot open and there Kain was. She wondered if he'd noticed her. She didn't remember exactly what she'd said, but at one point, she had crossed some invisible line, and even the way that Kain was moving showed his anger or frustration or whatever he was feeling. She shivered, this time because of the cold water, and let herself sink below the water with her eyes closed, and stayed there. She hoped that maybe he would swim away or leave the lake. She had told him, hadn't she?

Kain grunted loudly and lashed out at the water. "Goddammit." he swam to the shore and laid down on his back, not bothering putting his clothes on. He just couldn't calm himself down.

Hydra felt the water shift around her, and she brought herself to the surface, taking in the air once she broke it. She tried to swim backwards to where she might be able to reach the bottom with her feet, but the weeds that had so wonderfully surrounded her had snarred her and she was now caught. She wiggled herself free, but not after getting a nasty cut on her ankle that stung as she swam back to shore and then heavily walked out of the water. It was only then when she realized that Kain was still present, lying on the shore. Her eyes softened and she walked over to him, standing over him for a moment before sitting down next to him, silent.

Kains eyes shot up and he bolted up. "Oh...Well, I'll just get dressed and let you be..." he grabbed his pants and slipped them on. "..." He was still angry.

She did not get up, she did not look at him, but she did speak softly. "Please don't leave," she said, her voice cracking on the last syllable.

He turned around on his heel. "Why not, Hydra?" He could feel his face boiling up again. "Didn't you come here to be alone?'

She stood up and could feel her voice getting stronger and a tad louder, but she wasn't yelling. "Yes, I did. But you know what I found? I found you. I found you, Kain. And maybe you don't think I'm something worth fighting for, something worth keeping, but I am not just going to let you walk off, when I couldn't care less about being alone and I still find myself wanting you next to me!" Tears were converging in her eyes, but she promised herself that she would not let them show. She would not cry.

"Then why did you say that, Hydra! You don't show me anything. I've tried to be good to to, and I have been, haven't I? I like you. A lot, but sometimes...I feel like you don't feel the same." His started to put his shirt on. "Do you want to be with me, Hydra?"

She just looked at him for a moment, really considering his question. But once she was absolutely positive, she answered him, unprepared to be hurt, unprepared to let him leave her there, never knowing what she could have had. She walked up to him, and wrapped her arms around him, burying herself in his chest. She would not let go, she decided, even if he tried to push her off. "I want you," she said simply. "How can you not think that?" Goddamn tears. No crying. No crying!

"I'm not crying!" she wailed. "I say things...I say stupid things. But I didn't mean anything by it. I don't even know why I said it," she lied. "It's ok though," she said, letting go of him. She smiled sadly. "Unfair, right?"

"...Hydra. That's not fair. I've dedicated a lot to you. I'd just wish that you were honest with me. I want to be with you. But I'd like it if you'd at least try and think about what you say..." He backed off to give her room.
