"Why?" asked Ellyseta as she tilted her head. Normally others would just show aggravation towards her Mama. Very few had ever shown any sign of sympathy.

He shook his head, "Just...well...he can't remember things, right?" He frowned, "It must be pretty bad to forget things, especially if they were important, right?"

"I guess that's true..." Ellyseta's voice trailed off as she thought it over. She looked back at the direction Reyn had gone. "You can't tell him, but I'm kind of glad he lost his memory. I know it makes me selfish, but if he hadn't, then chances are he wouldn't have been around to raise me. And he probably wouldn't be who he is now, he wouldn't be my Mama."

Mihir nodded, "I must admit...I agree with you." He laughed a little nervously, "I mean, he hated me when he was little...so, one less person on the hate list is always good, right?" He bit his lip, "Though...that also makes me feel selfish...one has to consider the stress that must come with memory loss, and then, that is when we question whether it is good or not. When you become old, and you start to forget things, would you be sad? Or would you simply not know?"

"Hated you? Why?" Ellyseta tilted her as she thought over what might have made her Mama hate someone. It was true that he was cranky and didn't seem to care for social contact, but he wasn't hateful. Then again, she had no idea what he was like before he lost his memory. And secretly, she really didn't want to know. What if it tainted what she thought of him now? She shook her head and said, "Never mind, I don't want to know."
She thought over what Mihir said, then went on, "Well the only way you would really know if you've forgotten something in that case would be if someone was there to remind you. It wouldn't be be same as what Mama has, waking up one day to just realize that your mind is nothing but a blank. So I guess it wouldn't make you sad unless there was someone there to tell you that you were forgetting stuff?"

Mihir smirked playfully, "Heh, no, it's nothing big. He didn't like me because I was flirting with his mom." He listened to her, his eyes trailing over to her lazily before sliding up to look at a bird that seemed to be eavesdropping on their conversation, "I suppose you're right." He said, yawning, thinking about what would happened if he'd lost all his memory, "I guess it'd be pretty hard, yeah?"

Elly could feel herself growing sad, her thoughts turning of what it would be like if she were to lose her memories. She shook her head. "We need a happier subject."

Mihir nodded, "Yes, we do." He said, smiling, trying to think of what he could say, though nothing could come to his head.

Elly looked around, searching for an idea for a topic. Her eyes kept bouncing back to Mihir though. "Are you my Mama's friend?"

Mihir shrugged, "I suppose so...depends on what he thinks of me, though."

"He likes you, I can tell." Elly nodded in an all knowing way as she talked. "He doesn't try to chase you away like he does others."
