Lightwater, I need to point something out to you. Don't think I'm going RAWR or anything, I'm just stating something pretty important. Lightwater2520 Lot Tribal RosaAfter fetching water, Lot went to the Inn's kitchen to find a washboard. This is called one-lining. Posting one, or just a few, sentences, in an RP. And generally, it's looked down upon in RP communities. I'm not bitching, cause I used to do it too, years ago, way back when I first started roleplaying. Like I said, I'm not bitching. I just want to make sure you understand, this is a para- or at least a semi-para- RP. Which means your posts should be at least half a paragraph long. Which would be three to five sentences, AT THE LEAST. If your character isn't doing much at the current moment, ther's always more you could write about. You could mention the scenery, what he's looking at, or, better yet, what he's thinking and feeling at that moment. Say your character just got his shoulder sliced by a sword. Of course it hurts like a ********. That's obvious. But don't take obvious things like that for granted. Details are important. Just imagine that you're writing a story that someone is going to read. Thrill the reader. Keep them interested. Make it hard for them to put down the book. Anyway...I'm rambling...I just wanted to inform you. One-lining is a pretty amateur thing to do. And it can get irritating. No offense if you are actually an amateur at roleplay. We all start off that way. I know I was, and I was TERRIBLE. xP If you want some more help/tips/advice/suggestions/whatever about details and whatnot, let me know. I'll help you out as much as you want. Anyway, I gotta go for now, so yeah....XD

The thing is Banshee, there's not much I can say till something happens. Guess I could send Lot on a hilarious quest to find a washboard.
Random Encounter Time! Guess Banshee will need to come up with an opponent for a level one white mage. I'm guessing a house cat.

I know, man, but like I said, you can always add miniscule details. They may seem to be no big deal, but trust me, they really help and make things more interesting. Like I said, if you want some tips on this, you can ask me or anyone else who's willing.
Also, you don't have to post if you feel you have nothing to write about at the moment. Things go by slowly, cause everybody's got different work/school schedules and s**t. And I usually always wait and give everyone a chance to post their responses to everything and whatnot. So don't feel you HAVE to post if you don't really see the necessity.
It's all gravy. I have something in store to kick this rp in its a** and make it move on a little more. It might require a little additional work from everybody who's willing, but it'll be awesome. ^_^ Hopefully.... =/

No, I don't post if there is nothing I can add. Plus, I do try to wait for people to respond. Right now, though, my character's separated from the group; hence his latest action.

Okay, everyone...
The information thread, and the first post of the Profiles thread, have both been severely updated. A LOT. I would suggest that EVERYONE go and read up on the changes, as soon as possible.
Thank you, and sweet dreams. I have work early tomorrow morning, but i'll be up all night tomorrow night cause it's the WEEKEND!!! XD No work saturday so yeah. I'll be here.
And that's about it for now. Oh, Lightwater, I'm about to approve your character and give you a memo. Incoming~

I've got questions!
You know the Moogle Job Mog? How does one attack with a flute? Kind of like staffs, I guess? It increases magic attack or something, I presume. But I'm wondering about the default attack. Do I play magical music or something to damage foes? Just wondering.
On that note, what's the Mognet business? If you haven't noticed I kinda want to make a Moogle character, so I'm getting all the background I can get.
However, this one will be a villain so I'm kind of wondering how 'evil' or something you have to be to get classified as that. I know it's not all black and white, but I need some kind of guideline since... Well, it's a moogle. I want it evil but still 'nice'. Like, being greedy and not really caring much for other people but at the same time doesn't really want to actively make other people really miserable if he can help it, since he's only doing it out of self-interest or something.
Anyway, just some information would be nice. I'm trying to make a moogle villain that is in the Thousand-Year Wall with his reason for being there explainable (Perhaps as a mercenary but who would hire a moogle as a mercenary?) as well as trying to justify why a moogle would be evil-ish in the first place.
So, yeah. Just want to know some more stuff so I can make my character more, uhh... Believable, I guess? So that he'd fit in with everything else.

O_O
Wow, Anarki! That's really thoughtful. I'm extremely amazed and impressed that you're putting so much deep thought into it! And I'm also very glad that you asked, instead of rushing in and then saying "oops!" when something went wrong. Hehe. I try to make sure y'all know that I'm always here to answer any questions or comments y'all have. I don't want anyone to be afraid to ask, no matter how "dumb" you think the question might be. Anyway, stopping rambling and starting the explaining. xP
Okay, for your first question, the flute thing...Well, Flutes (and other musical instruments, but we won't be getting into that until later...) are both long-range and short-range weapons. If a Mog was right there facing his/her enemy, they would simply whack the opponent with the flute like a stick. XD But if the enemy were some distance away, you could play a tune on the flute, and the tune would "materialize" into a sort of energy, sent to the target, and deal some damage. Not a wise thing to do if the enemy is close to you, as they could skewer you before you had a chance to play. X_X
Yeah...That's how it works. I can't believe I didn't explain that sooner. Dude....That's another thing we need in the Info thread - Weapons info! Woot! I'm gonna get on that ASAP. Thanx for the induced revelation, Anarki. XD
Second, about Mognet:
It's a message delivery service. Kind of like it is in Final Fantasy IX, and Crystal Chronicles, etc.....
If you've never played a FF game with Mognet in it, well....Nevermind then. Basically, it's to Altan (the world the RP takes place in) what the Postal service, or UPS, or FedEx, or whatever, is to us. They have several offices throughout the world, but the only one available AT THE MOMENT, is the Tribal Mognet Office, in Gabbiani. I'm working on including the Amoria Mognet Office in the Info thread, but...yeah...I got a lot of stuff to do. I'm workin' on it. XD
But anyway, where was I? Oh yeah. Well, the Mognet is owned and operated by Moogles. Cause they can fly. And they're the best at the job. They totally own at it. XD That's pretty much the basics. If you need any more info on the Mognet service, just let me know.
Aaand, the villain thing. Well, it'd be fine to make him a villain. I'm not gonna tell you how to make your character's personality and whatnot... After all, it is YOUR character. But I will give you suggestions and whatnot. As for guidelines....Well...There's really no limit on how mean or aggressive a moogle can be. Moogles are people too! Hehe. So yeah, if you want to make him kind of pushy and looking out for number one, yet still not a total p***k, then that's fine. If you want to make him all RAWR and MUWAHAHAHAHAA DIE DIE DIE!!!....well, that's fine too. I personally like your idea, it sounds interesting, and great for a story. ^_^
As for being in the Thousand-Year Wall, well, we can arrange this in several different ways...hehe...
Well....as far as the "who would hire a moogle as a mercenary?" thing...Don't underestimate moogles. They can be pretty fiesty. Ever played through FFIX? Gwahahaha. I love the wall scene in the Roo. KUPOOOO!!! rofl
But yeah, you could have a mercenary moogle. It'd be an interesting twist. Something not many people would expect. Hell, if Square put a badass moogle mercenary character in an FF game, you could bet your a** I'd play it. XD
But there are other ways. He could even be an Amorian soldier. Even less likely and more surprising. O__O Or, we could do the "oh, hey look what just happened!" thing. Gwahahaa. No, but seriously. We could make it where your moogle was just wandering around in the tunnels and happened upon the scene. That's not an impossible or very unlikely thing to happen; after all, the tunnels traverse all over the underground of the city, and entrances can be found all over the inside of the town....if anyone looked hard enough. XD
Yeah, that last option would be better for...well....more flexibility of the character's history and whatnot, like if you don't want to make them into a tough-as-nails GRR-ARGH type of person or whatnot.
Like I said, these are just suggestions, to help you out, since you asked. ^_^
Also....About the evil thing....Like I said, moogles are people, too. They go through stuff in their lives just as the humans of Altan do. Maybe he had a bad childhood or something? Maybe certain events in his life caused him to have a worse attitude and whatnot? There are all kinds of possibilities.
My advice to you in this case, is to not think of your character as "oh, a moogle, they're all nice and cute and fluffy" and whatnot, but instead, just think of him/her as just another person, like yourself or anyone else. If you look at it from that perspective, I'm sure it'll come to you.
The only restrictions on our minds, are those which we create ourselves.
And you can quote me on that. 3nodding

Oh, and Lightwater....
You are aware that there are no monsters in the town of Rosa, right? We won't be encountering any monsters until we leave Rosa and head toward Gabbiani. Which will be....sometime. For now my main focus is on the villains, though, and they're gonna be fighting a LOT. So yeah. Just wanted to make sure you know.

Thanks for answering my questions! I think I recall Mognet now, though I can't really remember much about it. It's been a long time since I've played FFIX. Been a long time since I played any FF games actually. Kinda got put off by FFXII, it was really hard at times and complicated and I spend way too much time on it. I managed to see the main plot through the end though, but I've barely even begun to scratch the surface on all the side-quests and everything else. It was just too awesome. Maybe I'll continue playing it some other time.
Anyway, I think I've got something for my character now. Though I want to keep some information about him, like age and some of the more murkier details of his background (So I can have license later on to change things if he doesn't quite fit in), is that alright? Besides, I have no idea how long a moogle's lifespan is. At all. Or how their society functions for that matter. I'm even at a loss as to what they eat (Aside from Kupo Nuts, that is). So, is that alright with you?
Everything else should be pretty clear but I want some details to be a bit flexible since I've no idea at all about most things for moogles.
Also, a badass moogle mercenary would really be fun to see. I do know there would be completely evil and jerk-type moogles. That's not how I'll make my character though. Still, I wanna see one. A badass moogle mercenary that is. Awesome. However, I do think that people would be rather skeptical in hiring a moogle mercenary if there are other mercenaries available. Moogles aren't generally known for their mad fighting skillz. I think I remember them sort of being healers in one of the games but maybe it was that summon. But that's just what I think anyway. I do agree that they would be pretty incredible fighters anyway.
Hey, on a side-note. Moogles in general can fly? I know that they have wings and all and I'm pretty certain that in the games I saw some of them fly. But I am pretty doubtful that their wings can support their body, but maybe it's sort of a moogle thing. Might have something to do with magic or really strong wings or something. But I just want to clarify if all moogles can fly here? Just so I know that he can fly. And if so, can he like just hover a few feet above the ground or something or can he actually go gliding off somewhere like a bird. I'm leaning more towards the hovering some feet above the ground but I don't really know.
Oh, yeah. A Mog's initial equip is a Mog Flute right? I notice the distinct lack of armor or anything else for that matter. So I'll just be... naked then? That's fine, I guess. Or do I get to wear non-armor clothes? Like say a shirt that does absolutely nothing except look good on me. Because I don't think my character will fancy being naked. Not with the personality I'm giving him.

Haha. Yeah, sure, that's fine. As for age, I've always imagined moogles to live about as long as humans...maybe a little less. I dunno, that's just me though. But yeah, keep some flexibility. It's all gravy. After all, I did just kinda DUMP all this s**t onto y'all at once. Haha. And I still have some things to work on, especially in the info thread. So yeah.
Yeah, it's true, moogles aren't as physically strong as humans. And the Mog job class in this rp isn't built for strength hehe. But there are other strengths besides physical. xP
Flying...Yes, all moogles can fly. Except if their wings are cut off or something...ouch....>.> But yeah, it's more like hovering off the ground, six to seven feet off the ground at the most, and they can't do it forever. They can remain airborne for about three minutes....It would be less, though, if they're preoccupied or straining themselves, by fighting or trying to concentrate on something, or if they're just plain tired.
Sure, non-armor clothing is fine in a moogle's case, I suppose. Like a shirt or something. That's cool. ^_^ Truth be told, I only refrained from adding armor or anything to the "Mog" job class cause it's kind of a tribute to the character Mog from FFVI, who is just a plain white-furred moogle, and he IS naked, as most moogles, at least in the classic games, usually are. XD
