the wheel of morality death my guitar sounds like an ideal way to die..lol jk. Tripping and falling onto your guitar, causing your ribs to shatter, sending tiny shards of bone into your heart? That IS the way to go. And I called YOU sick...

Die while ROCKING OUT
Nah. Any method of death involving a lot of pain all at once isn't really an ideal way to die. o_o

The reasons swords saw so much use back in the day for melee range is because they were faster than spears, and a LOT harder to break than the wooden shafts. Axes were too slow when you were surrounded. And daggers were best for assassinations, not brawls.
I myself am partial to swords, mostly because it is the most versatile weapon for close range. But I also think that any proper warrior should know how to use a bow and arrow effectively. Its just common sense that if you can take out an opponent from afar, why the heck would you risk fighting him man to man. (pardon the uninentional chauvinism)

Swords can be a pretty good one-time-use throwing weapon if you have it balanced perfectly.

But that's how I see it. Shoot from a tree and you've saved yourself a fight...unless, of course, you can't aim. Or get distracted. You can't be easily distracted. Like someone nudging and teasing you while your about to shoot...that can be bad. >__> I would know. ._.;;
However daggers would be fun for the stealthy assassins...Personally, if I ever needed to fend for myself, I'd have a bow & quiver on my back, a sword at my side, and two daggers: one in my boot and the other either on my other side or attached in an apartment on my sleeve. I'd want to be ready for anything, really...And it would all be rather light compared to most other weapons...
Though death by Guitar...while it sounds cool, it would be rather pathetic when you reaaaally think about it. sweatdrop

I wanna be an assassin that is out of the stereotype. I wanna use a giant sword* while being all stealthy.
*Any large sword were it would be wise to use with two hands.

Throwing your guitar into the crowd and then jumping after it only to get impaled by that stupid person in the crowd who caught it WOULD be kinda embarassing

Axe > Wood. Thus, axe > lance? Whack it in half, then the enemy only has half a wooden stick in their hands.
