The '80s weren't THAT bad. Yes, the good band to bad band ratio was 1-100, but there was some good stuff in the '80s. Thrash bands like Metallica and Megadeth (when they were pretty good), came out. Guns N' Roses with their albums. Stevie Ray Vaughan sparking a new interest in the blues. But I do agree Clapton did release some crap albums. Michael Jackson released some VERY nice albums (whether you like it or not). And well...Prince.

I hate Guns N' Roses.
Not because of Slash, he's a great guitarist.
BUT I HATE AXL'S VOICE SO MUCH.

There was good music in the eighties, its just like today, its out numbered by the s**t i agree.

******** Slash. He is THE most overrated guitarist ever. He doesn't completely suck...but he's nothing amazing.

Name is Jonathan, but call me Raven, Hugin, or Djadadjii (which I doubt any one will do, heh). I play bass guitar, and own 3: Washburn XP-100 (Medusa), Titan 5-String (Hresvelgr), Fender Cruise (Orthrus). I also own a fender Starcaster (Baihu), and if you couldn't tell I'm a major mythology nut.
I play my bass with either distortion or double distortion (Boss DS-1 distortion pedal and amp channel), and play pop, slap, strum, pluck, tap, swipe, and am still learning. I've been playing for almost two years, played in a local blackened-death metal band, and am working on forming a melo-death/thrash band. I use a Peavey RAge 108 amp, a Johnson Reptone amp, and a yamaha SP-10 amp.
