All in all I am happy that they are giving SM the Master of the Forge. He is exactly the kind of commander that I have been looking for, and gives me a reason to take a techmarine. Just sit him next to the Whirlwind on your side and let the damage commence.

All in all I am happy that they are giving SM the Master of the Forge. He is exactly the kind of commander that I have been looking for, and gives me a reason to take a techmarine. Just sit him next to the Whirlwind on your side and let the damage commence.

Your entire comment was about the Master of the Forge in reference to his repairing abilities. I'd have been completely cool with it if you had referenced how the Master of Forge can have a Conversion Beamer or how he allows the Thunderfire Cannon.

Actually...On that topic, I'm absolutely loving the look of the sampled rules on the Conversion beamer. I loved the rules on it, though they're likely changing the old modular BS on it. It used to be that Conversion beamers hit based on the target's armor save. Therefore, Terminators were hit on a 2+ and Orks would be hit on 6s. Tanks were hit on I think a 4+. Now we just need to see Rapier platforms come back for the Guard.

Well, as far as shooty, the old Techmarines and Tech Fathers had a Bolter, a Twinlinked Plasma Gun and a Flamer. The last two were on his servo harness, and he had full access at the Space Marine armory. This one looks to have the same benefits.

The Thunderfire cannon is it's own entry with it's own Techmarine. I think it could be operated by another Techmarine if the original one dies, but I don't know the full rules for gun emplacements and crews.
