EhmiEhmi Honestly, I'll be sad to see DT go as the Doctor, but I was sad to see CE go, too, and I got over it. However,I'm angry with DT for quitting now because the whole show was put on hiatus for him to do Hamlet, and now all of a sudden, he's not going to be continuing on as the Doctor after the next year of specials? If he was going to pull this kind of a stunt, then he could have told us all before he FAKE regenerated, and he could have just let the Doctor regenerate FOR REAL, and we wouldn't have to wait a whole year for a proper season. scream Also, I bet that whole thing with the Doctor being a companion and the other guy being the Doctor is some kind of body swap thing. That's pretty much my feelings. I mean, even if he didn't regenerate in Journey's End, he could have taken time out of Hamlet to do, like, one opening scene... if he wasn't staying anyway...

knightofthe21stcentury Willow--Rosenburg gongkat I'm just sad he didn't break Tom Baker's long standing run of seasons like DT once said he would. *sigh* Oh well. I know! I was hoping that he'd at least try and match the TB run crying But, then again, maybe he matched it in terms of stories. Tom did 7 years of 30 minute episodes and at least 4 episodes per story. DT has done 4 years of hour-long episodes and most of them wrapped up the story in the hour. Maybe he did almost match Tom's run when you run those numbers (I'm too lazy to do that...) But this means that at least 1 special needs to have River Song in it. I mean, think about it: she knows about regeneration and was able to reconize the Doctor while he was still 10. She had to have met him before he regenerated otherwise she shouldn't have reconized him, right? Wah, temporal paradox think fries my brain...and the tar from the roofing job at school doesn't help... Timelords can regognise eachother, so she must be a timelord, yes? _____________________________________________________ >>> <<<lol Maybe. Oh, the news made it onto the FEED on G4. I guess this really means that it couldn't be a case of the boy who cried regenerate, then. Oh well, a girl can dream.

He should have stayed for long enough for River Song to sink to the back of our heads, before taking us by surprise is a season finale or whatever. _____________________________________________________ >>> <<<

Agreed - there has to be at least one special featuring River Song. You can't set up that story-thread and just abandon it because of a change of actor.
Also agreed - David WILL be missed. From "he'll struggle to do as well as Eccleston" to "second-best Doctor ever" (IMHO) - AND his performances certainly helped me through some tough times. Best of luck for the future, Mister Tennant - and don't forget the possibility of guest appearances in another multiple Doctors story...!

I'm rather upset about his leaving. I mean, I understand his reasons I suppose, but that doesn't make me any happier. D: Just means I'll have to buy all the seasons STAT before the prices jump like mad.
I'll miss him terribly. I think the person who will replace him is going to have one hell of a time. -nods-

I just didn't think he would be quitting anytime soon so I never thought to check or... HOW DEPRESSING I think I'll go cry myself to sleep. Haha, we shall all get over it eventually, but it is SO SAD to see him go! I'll miss my Tennant!! But, now I'm also incredibly curious as to who the next doctor shall be. what a momentus ... moment!

My Dad ran up and told me, he thought I would want to know but I just started crying... and crying... He was my first Doctor and he got me into the series. Even though I've gone back and seen all the other Doctors he is still my favorite and when he dies I have no idea what I'm gonna do. Just hearing the announcement means I can't stop crying, what the heck am I gonna do when the final episode airs! crying
I've always know he would have to leave eventually, but I really didn't think it would be this soon. After all the stuff he has said about how much he loves the show and loves doing it I though he would stay around longer than 4 seasons.

I got the news from a subscription email from youtube...watched the interview thing where he said he was going to leave...and I almost cried. But then, me personally, I don't like change. I suppose I at least thought he'd stay for 2010..but at the same time..I'm interested as to the next Doctor. I mean, new writer, new doctor..who knows what Steven Moffat will do?

So i wish him aLL the best of Luck and hope that he continues a successfuL stage career

I'm surprised you liked Tennant's Doctor that much, considering how you always sided against him in our Battle of the Ten Doctors game... razz One thing I'm glad about... David actually bothered to try and explain why he decided to leave the show. I just wish Eccleston had said something before quitting, too.

I shall be annoyingly honest and say YES! I never really like David as the Doctor. Mostly because to me the Doctor is not some hyper pretty boy, he is a grumpy old man. Now that doesn't mean I don't like Paul or Peter. They may have been pretty and not all that grumpy but to me they were very good Doctors. But sadly any hopes I have of a good Doctor (in my opinion) are dashed away because as long as Steven Moffet is there we'll probably just get another pretty boy with some clingy female companion. *sigh*
( I swear if anyone starts flaming me just because I hate DT I will hunt them down and kill them because I hate flamers like the Daleks hate the Doctor! )

Just when he got good. Typical or what?
