The first turn Phage is possible, in all cases where the combo exists in a deck. Impossible? Nope. Improbable? Very much so.

It works on almost the same level as every other 1st turn kill deck.

And I don't think he played 4 Dark Rituals... unless he's a total dumbass. Think about it:
1) Swamp (0 Mana Floating)
2) T, Swamp: Dark Ritual (BBB Floating)
3) B, Dark Ritual (5 X B Floating)
4) B, Dark Ritual (7 X B Floating = 7 mana)
5) 7 X B, Phage the Untouchable

To add another BB (-1+3) would be idiotic. No one in their right mind would do it.

Also, as soon as I get some Dark Rituals I'll be able to pull that off... I got a Phage a while back. Hehehehe...

EDIT: Just to stay on topic...

You opponent is mass producing token creatures (think factory mass production) then throws a Glare of Subdual on the field. I can't block. Or use tap abilities. Ouch.



EDIT 2: Not only that... hehe... but when your opponent has these cards in their hand:
1 Mountain
1 Raging Goblin
2 Myojin of Infinite Rage
2 Blazing Shoal

...

Ever seen a 21/1 Raging Gobling rape someone on the first turn?

Any time there's an Umezawa's Jitte and a creature on the board, things get ugly.

I don't know how much you guys have played against Jitte, but it is one stupid broke piece. Thank god they printed Putrify.

i'm not sure if this counts as loseing horribly to an awsome enemy, but once i lost without ever playing a single creature, enchantment, sorrcery, or instant.... i had a full rainbow of mana though sweatdrop

Panaoptic mirror lets you copy a sorcery and play it every turn for free .

Plow under takes two target lands and puts them on the top of their controllers deck .

You are screwed when your oppenent pull off a unlimited combo.

knw what happens when someone has a raging goblin and everyone else is mana screwed?

next game i crushed him with darigaaz, darksteel colossus and draco

pulled an infitate mana combo with drain life by my tenth turn


also played an 5 person game(3 green token, 2 black token decks) with over 10,000 tokens in play at once

i was playing a friend during lunch recently and he got a 4 turn kill (technically a 4 1/2 turn kill, cuz it was his 5th turn and i went 2nd) anyway, here's how it went:
turn 1: welding jar x2, ornithopter, cloudpost
turn 2: cloudpost, energy chamber
turn 3: cloudpost, cranial plating, equip plate to ornithopter
turn 4: stalking stones, 2nd cranial plating, equiped to ornithopter, swings for 13, that hurt
turn 5: attacks with ornithopter, game over.

that was one of the few times he actually beat me, but man was it embarrasing losing to an ornithopter.
