Shimofuri nodded as she watched him jumped and listened to him speak. "That would be so cool! Come one! Let's go look!" she said as she ran over and grabbed his paw before pulling him in a random direction.

Nefir allowed himself to be pulled along for a while, then he found his footing and was able to keep up, even getting ahead for a few moments. Soon he spotted a large mountain of ice that gleamed in the sun like a huge crystal. He skidded to a halt, eyes wide. "Look at the size of that mountain! I bet it's loaded with diamonds!" His smile suddenly began to shrink. "And I bet it's crawling with monsters.......and littered with pointy ice shards and bottomless crevasses......"

Shimofuri gasped with delight as she looked up to see the giant ice mountain that towered over them. "Whoa!" she exclaimed as she stared at it and as they stopped walking, her eyes wide with excitement. "Yeah, I bet there's tons of diamonds and jewels in there!" she agreed before giving Nefir a small smirk. "And if there are any monsters, we can take 'em. Plus we can help each other dodge those bad things. So... you wanna take a look inside?" She asked, motioning to a small cave opening at the base.

Nefir was about to inform Shimofuri about the general abilities of ice efrits when, per usual, the mention of sparkly things shoved the warnings to the back of his mind. "Yeah, let's go!" He rushed toward the cave entrance and bounced in, where he promptly slipped and slid into an icy stalagmite. He lay there upside down with his hind end in the air and he chuckled nervously at Shimofuri. "I guess it's kinda slippery in here, huh?" He stood up and shook the icy bits out of his fur before looking toward the back of the cave. Like two lifeless eyes, there were two holes leading deeper into the cave. They both seemed to lead off in opposite directions, but other than that, they were completely alike. Nefir turned to Shimofuri. "Which way, d'you think?"

Shimofuri ran after Nefir, laughing as he slipped into a stalagmite. "You think?" she remarked as she carefully slid to a stop where he was and continued laughing. Her laughing calmed down and stopped as she looked to where he stared, and saw the entrances. "I think....we should go.... left!" she said as she pointed to the left hole.

((Left tunnel, Indy! Left tunnel! Couldn't resist. xd ))
Nefir smiled. "Okay, left it is!" He walked carefully into the tunnel, looking more at the ground than up ahead. He extended his claws to try and keep a better grip on the icy ground. He saw what looked like a dark patch on the ground off to the left of the tunnel. He walked slowly toward it and gingerly put a paw down, touching......nothing. He gulped and skittered away from the dark patch and turned to Shimofuri with a white face. "See that? That's one of the bottomless crevasses. Stay away from anything what looks like that." He continued down the tunnel, squinting as the light grew weaker and weaker. "Maybe we shoulda brought a light before we came in heeeeeeeeere!" He suddenly found himself sliding down an incline of ice with no way of stopping.

Shimofuri slid next to Nefir, her arms out to the side to help her keep balance on the slippery ground. She glanced to her side and saw him approach a dark patch, and run back. "Yeah, I guess we had better stay away from those," she agreed and looked forward. She strained to see in front of her as the light quickly became dimmer and dimmer. She turned to answer Nefir when she slipped and began sliding down on her butt down an impossibly long incline. "I so did not see this coming!"

Nefir tried to put his claws out once more, even though they hadn't helped when the ground was even, and he found himself putting them away after a few seconds because not only were they sore almost immediately, but the resulting sound was like nails on a chalkboard. He slid down into darkness occasionally pierced by shafts of light that came from who knows where, and at least once he felt the ice crack beneath him as he slid. He waved his paws uselessly as he continued to slide deeper and deeper into the ice mountain. As suddenly as it had begun, the ride ended. The slide ended with a four foot drop, and he found himself landing painfully on his stomach on a sheet of ice. He moaned and looked up, trying to pierce the darkness and not having any luck.

Shimofuri looked around as they slid down, her hands unable to provide any resistance at all. She looked behind to see pieces of the ramps cracking and falling below. She gulped as she tried to keep calm and looked to her side, unable to see Nefir. She was about to call out for him when she felt herself be dropped and landed on her side. She cursed lightly before looking up in the darkness.

Nefir heard Shimofuri drop somewhere off to his left, and he put his paws forward and groped around until he found Shimofuri's tail. "There you are. Are you by any chance as blind as I am in this dark?" His voice seemed to echo all around the area, leaving no clues as to how big the place was. Nefir looked over to where he thought Shimofuri's head was. "What should we do now? Should we split up and grope around until we find a way out, or should we stick together and search?"

Shimofuri looked around in blindness until being startled by a grab on her tail. She was about to turn and hit whatever had grabbed it when she heard Nefir's voice and figured out that it was him. "Yeah, I can't even see you," she remarked as the looked to where he was and only saw black. She thought before saying her idea. "I think we should stay together because of the buddy system."

Nefir chuckled, not the nicest sound in the dark. "Buddy system? I thought I was more than that. Heh, sorry; bad joke." He swished his tail in Shimofuri's direction so she could grab it. "Okay then, let's see if we can just move in the same general direction until we find something." He started to move forward at a slow and steady pace, taking a few bumps on the nose before managing to walk down a dark corridor. "Hey, I think I see something ahead; kind of a grayish light. Do you see it, Shimofuri?"

"And we could always do more things in the dark than just wander around blindly, since we know where we are," Shimofuri coyly replied back as she took a hold of his tail. She walked beside him, Hey free hand feeling around for a wall before finding one. She looked forward where he spoke and saw the slightest hue change. "I think so."

Nefir's eyes bugged out and he was glad that they were in such deep darkness, so that Shimofuri couldn't see him flush. He walked steadily toward the grayish light, which oddly enough didn't seem to be getting any brighter. He found out why when he stopped in front of a sheet of ice that seemed only a few inches thick; the light was struggling to make it through the clouded ice. Nefir ran a paw along the smooth cool surface. "Wow.....I wonder how THIS got here?" He turned to look at Shimofuri, as much of her as he could see in the weak light. "Looks like we'll have to break through this to go any further."

Shimofuri wandered towards the light that seemed to be endlessly away before walking into a wall of ice. "Chikushou," she cursed under her breath as she rubbed her face before rubbing her hand along the ice surface. She knocked on it once before taking a step back. She jumped up and flipped before hitting it with the heel of her foot at a downward angle, splitting the ice in a hushing sound.
