"Hello?" She calls, banging on the door. "Is anyone inside? I'm lost, and alone, and I need a place to stay!" Hopefully they'd at least open the door...Caroline had learned from experience that men tended to look twice at a belly dancer in full regalia. "Please, open the door!" She calls, trying to sound distressed. Isn't hard.

|Feh, here I go.| Caroline puts her ear to the door. Above the general clamour of several voices, two reach her ears. "Who d'you think it is?" a voice asks. "I don't know, you pea-brain!" responds another. "D'you think it's safe to open it?" Seizing her chance, Caroline calls, louder than before, while putting on her cloak again, "Is anyone inside? I've been wandering in the woods for a long while now. Can't anyone hear me?" She really does sound distressed. "Aw, come on Awthur," says the first voice. "It ain't nothin' but a young lady!" The second voice, presumably Arthur, still hesitates. "I don't know, Peter..." "Come on, please? I haven't had socheeable company since we started this whole business!" Caroline wraps her cloak around her, hiding her costume. For now. The door opens and reveals the two speakers, along with a whole roomful of other men. All standing in front of...something, obscuring her vision of it. In the back of the room she can see the other door. "Why thank you, gentlemen," she says, lacing her voice with honey and oil. "I was beginning to become frightened that no one could hear me." She bats her eyelashes. She's in her element now. "Please, sit down. Make yourselves comfortable. Let me pay for your hospitality in advance." She lets her cloak drop, and there she is, in full regalia. The dim light in the room winks off of the bells, coins, and other jewelry she's wearing. She smiles demurely at the astonished--and some lewd--faces. She starts by doing a few veil tricks. She'd save the hips for later. She dances automatically--her body going into autopilot so her head has time to think. Her smooth motions had already enraptured her audience. Time for the bells. She starts slowly, circling her hips rhythmically. The coins on her hip scarf clink and ripple, and the bells start to ring. Her audience leans forward in their seats. She does a few turns, a few belly ripples, and then.....everything. Turning, shaking, shimmying. The men who are seated stand up and start to advance on her. Still smiling, still dancing, she opens the door and dances right out of it, followed by all of them. Out of the corner of her eye as she whirls, she catches a glimpse of Anezka and Aisrhan. She dances into the night, leading her captive audience away from the precious children.

Silver waited in the hallway with Valelldia and Emelyn, just outside the door. She recognized Kale's barking and heard a few men shouting. Their words, however, were muffled by the door and the chanting that had continued, despite the destraction. Marissa's hasty retreat was well noted by her obviously intentional stomping on the roof, which induced more shouting from the men inside. "Well done Marissa..." She said under her breath. Moments later the commotion ceased entirely and Silver couldn't hear anything. The suspense was heart wrenching. Then, as Caroline's dance became more agressive, Silver heard the bells: a golden, beautiful sound blending perfectly with the tinkling of the coins that adorned Caroline's outfit. "Caroline's in. Let's get ready you guys." Dagger in hand, Silver waited a few moments to give Caroline some time to get out. She then, carefully, cracked the door just hair, so she could see. The room was empty except for their poor children, who were bound to the altar. Thank you, Caroline, She thought with a small grin. She was about to get her baby back. "C'mon you guys, they're gone!"

Val rushed in after the dagger-wielding Silver- into the dimly lit room with the two infants tied to the altar. She rushed towards them, almost blindly- the sight of them being treated this way filled her with fear and anger.
"They don't seem to be harmed," she said to Silver, in dulcet tones, "Sh.. it's alright Anezka." She soothed the frightened child as she unbound it from the altar. "Why would they take them?" She wondered aloud.
Then, a noise from outside. She gasped. "Caroline! Hurry Silver, we may have to help."

Caroline, meanwhile, is having problems of her own. She now has a clustering of men, all much bigger and stronger than she, gathered around her. They're still captives of the spell, but they're dangerously close to her. I hope they've got the children out by now, she thinks, I can't hold them much longer!

Lesh jumped at Marissa and Kale joined her and Veshengo. "Who is that?!" She grabbed onto Veshengo's arm, then calmed down as she heard Kale whimpering. "Marissa? What has happened? Where are the others?" She blindly reached out and touched Marissa's shoulder, "Do they have the children?"

Silver hurriedly untied and picked up Aisrhan, who promptly began to wimper into her mother's shoulder. "Shh... it's alright babe. I'm here now." A wave of relief flooded over her as she fully realized that her Aisrhan was once again in her arms, and relatively unharmed. Then, a new wave of seething anger. "My thoughts exactly", she muttered to Val's spoken thought. Preoccupied with her daughter, she didn't hear the noise, but Val's words jolted her thoughts back to the situation at hand. "Oh no! If they get to the bells..." Silver didn't finish the statement. They both knew what kind of danger Caroline was in. She nodded brusquely to Val, hugged Aisrhan tight in her arms, and headed for the exit the dancing Caroline had led the men through.

Caroline's heart thumps loudly in her chest. The seething crowd draws closer every second. Suddenly, genius strickes. Hurriedly, Caroline unties the bell belt, slings it around, and wings it over the crowd and quite a distance away. The men go chase after it, and Caroline starts to make her getaway. As the spell breaks, however, the voices clamour in anger. "She's bewitched us all!" "The theivin' little...!" "We won't let some little slut get the best of us!" "Get her!" They start after Caroline, who jumps and flees. Quickly.

Silver rushed outside just in time to see Caroline throw the belt. Oh no... She saw Caroline start to run and heard the men shouting. Silver called over her shoulder at the older gypsy who was carrying Anezka. "Val - can you do something?! Caroline needs help, but we can't have the girls get hurt - we just got them back!" Aisrhan saw the men and began to wail. She was obviously scared to death of them. Silver patted her head. "Shh... come on, hun. Be qui -" Then, someone from the angry mob spotted her. "Damn it! They've got the brats! Forget the tramp! C'mon!" Suddenly the mob changed direction and was headed toward her. Silver muttered a string of unintelligible beligerence under her breath, then, "Well, you've got to give them credit - they aren't entirely stupid..." Silver brandished her dagger and prepared to fight, hoping Val would think of something before they got to the girls again.

The charge of men sent a wave of fury up in front of Valelldia's face. She had been persecuted in her life- and captured and tormented and persued. There was a dark part of her mysterious past- and this wall of hateful creatures before her caused that darkness to manifest itself in a sharp heat coursing through her veins- up her legs, into her torso, and then into her arms.... where it then curled outwards from her fingertips in strands of red and purple energy. She hardly knew that she was controlling it with her rage, when she screamed- and a wall of energy like a bolt of lightning- struck the air.
It made a heady, resounding CRACK!! And everything was dark for several moments. When the light returned to the already dim night... every man was laying flat on the ground, stunned by the reckoning power of a pure hatred. ...Unfortunately, the blast had also hit Silver, who had been in the path of the stream... and one other lay silent on the soil...
Valelldia lay, silent... blood dripping from her fingertips.

"Oh my god..." Em said, speechless. She'd rushed up with Val and Silver, but as soon as they'd come into the night air, she'd separated from them to rush back to her son, who was still with Lesh and Veshengo. She'd regretted stepping into that basement as soon as her foot was on the first stair... but seeing that Pierre was alright in the blind gypsy's care, her worries had cooled.
They were replaced- even doubled, perhaps, by this new turn of events. She returned her son to the care of another- Marissa, this time, with a hurried gesture, and then picked up her skirts and ran towards their fallen comrades.
"Silver!" She cried," Valelldia!" The kidnappers were all equally discarded on the forest ground... but she was only concerned with the two who lay crumpled like ragdolls. She reached Silver first, for she had fallen steps ahead of the caravan leader.
"Silver?" She said, lifting up the gypsy's head. She put her fingers at the woman's throat... and was relieved to find a pulse.

Silver heard Valelldia behind her. She turned her her head quickly, just to glance at her friend and leader before they were to risk their lives together. However, the angry blank stare on Valelldia's face foze Silver and she stared in fear as the air fairly crackled around them with energy. Aisrhan closed her eyes and let out a terrible rhasping squeal, a most horrifying noise. "Val... no..." A deafening sound, a blinding light. Searing pain filled her skull and wracked her body as Silver's vision went red. A split second later, all faded to black and she collapsed to the ground, an unmoving, and now silent, Aisrhan still clutched in her arms.

After feeling for the pulse- Em felt something stirring, and jumped back to give Silver room to move. However, the gypsy was still passed out from whatever Val had done- instead, the movement had come from Ais, still wrapped in her mother's arms. She was unharmed- still under the protection of Val's overarching protection spell of the infants, but frightened at everything that was happening. Em scooped the snake-like girl up in her arms...hoping that she wouldn't be frightenened enough to bite her- but not particularly caring if she did. She called over to the others to come help, from the woods, the girl in her arms.

Marissa watched the scene in horror. It was overwhelming; she had a wounded and a healthy child in her arms, watched helpless as her dear friend got chased by thugs, and saw Val explode in what seemed to be lightning. Now Silver was on the ground, she no longer heard Aishran's cries, and she couldn't see what was happening.
She huddled over the children, and started to sob. At one point, she twisted Kale in a way that yanked the arrow deeper into his skin and he screamed in his pathetic canine way. She gasped and saw it was bleeding heavily now, as her baby's mouth was lined with blood as he did his best to lick it up. She only cried harder, praying for someone to come find her and tell her what in the world was going on.
