Oh, and since I haven't said it yet, I'm loving your version of the Time War.

So . . . anyone here happen to know how to attract the attention of Mr. Steven Moffatt? My life's ambition is to write a DW script (not this story, tho, for reasons of nekkidness amongst others rofl ).

BTW, I'm glad somebody's liking this last bit, 'cause I've heard nothing all day from Eirwyn. I suspect she's off somewhere rolling her eyes rolleyes , since this is just so romance novel to have the big angsty emo scene end up in bed lol . Of course, my intention when I started writing this was to write a romance novel, and a romance novel must have at least 3 "bedroom scenes": the "I can't believe this is happening" scene eek (which was the scene in the TARDIS bedroom), the "This may be wrong, but it feels so right" scene burning_eyes (the one I just posted), and the "I love you foreverandeveramen!" scene heart heart (which will be at the end, if I ever get there). As an aside, I do not read romance novels, as a general rule. They don't have enough plot to hold my interest. I do read fantasy, mysteries, or thrillers with romance sub-plots, but if they get too explicit, I actually skip a page or two! Nor do I condone the kind of free-love carryings-on that I'm writing about for real people in the real world, since the real world contains any number of, um, social diseases (what exactly did Reinette die from, anyway? I'm betting it wasn't a cold . . .). Not to mention the whole "who's your baby's daddy?" issue. OK, now that I've given the disclamer, back to the total fantasy of Doc 10, naked, on hands and knees, looking for his sneakers. SQUEEEEE! rofl rofl

Oh geez. rofl
And yeah, I don't read romance novels either, for mainly that reason.. it's fun to write up stuff that doesn't get too explicit, but I agree with you, I don't condone it either, it's rather immature to do something like that, not to mention it can be dangerous/risky/whatever. confused
And it may be good to perhaps write a letter to him at the studio or wherever.. send a sample of your writing or something.. I'd love it if you wrote a DW script! Considering Moffat's The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances was making innuendos (dancing = sex) that made me laugh a lot despite the creepiness of the episode.. and from what I've heard of him he certainly sounds like a nice enough person. 3nodding
Okay, back to crazy fangirl fantasy world! rofl

I got such a kick out of the whole "Doctor Dances" thing, because, you see, I grew up in the '80's, where folks were trying to write sexy lyrics without actually saying sex, and "dancing" wat the metaphor of choice . . . I just hope this doesn't mean that in 20 years DW scripts are going to be cursing like Nine Inch Nails lyrics ! eek rofl eek Especially since I'd be too old to handle it! lol

D: Ahahaha, I think Doctor Who is too classy to curse.. Torchwood can go do all that and be 'gritty', but DW is just too good for that to happen. 3nodding (And yeah, I know it uses mild language even now, but I don't think it'll cross that line).

I just discovered this new section--you've surprised me posting so much this weekend! I didn't expect any more. I've been watching the Geezer Guild growing like kudzu on Miracle-Gro. I think it's tripled size in the past week! eek And there are several new Who fans in that crowd, because the thread has been running pretty hot for days!
*Patiently waits to get back to the storyline.*

Thanks for your patience. Don't know if I'll be posting lots or none for a while--lots and lots of non-Who stuff in my life, but I hope not to have to completely neglect this!

As I put some clothes on his skinny behind and try to steer him back towards a plot :
“Good morning, sorry we’re late,” said River as she entered the lounge, trying to ignore any smirks, snickers or stares from the rest of the team. It wasn’t easy, as the Doctor had come in just before her and was exchanging truly sophmoric grins with the undergrads. “The Doctor and I were up late discussing the significance of yesterday’s find.” Po snorted audibly, and the females on the team were all simpering. River soldiered on. “I think it’s safe to say that what we’ve discovered here pretty much blows the lid off any other work done on the Great Time War to this date. We’ve brought the Time Lords out of the realm of fiction into fact. But we can not let the academic importance of what we’ve done here . . . Excuse me?” The Doctor had put his feet up on the conference table. “Oops, sorry, my bad,” he said, lowering his sneakers to the ground. He’s utterly incredible, River thought, reflecting on how in less than 12 hours he’d gone from sobbing like a child in her arms to horsing with the undergrads as if he were one of them. She doubted the peanut butter was responsible. Nor was she self-important enough to take the credit herself. It was more likely that the Doctor had made a very effective habit of keeping his emotions “bottled up,” as he’d put it. Has to take the cork out and let off pressure every so often, so to speak, and the rest of the time he keeps it shut up and out of his mind, she figured. It made sense–if he had to live every day with as much raw pain as she’d witnessed the night before, he wouldn’t be able to function. She had to give him credit. If she’d been elected to wipe out her own species and then live forever with the guilt, she doubted she’d do so well. “Oh, by the way,” she said, “Summer, we apologize, but we rather destroyed your private stash of peanut butter last night.” “That’s all right,” said Summer as Juan and Po unsuccessfully tried to stifle sounds remarkably like giggles. Oh, for crying out loud! thought River. And if I was going to do that, I certainly wouldn’t use peanut butter. Whipped cream, maybe . . . “The Doctor had worked through dinner,” River continued by way of explanation, “and we decided to make sandwiches.” She decided not to look at the faces the Doctor and the undergrads were making at each other. “Now, as I was saying, we can’t get distracted by thinking about how all this is going to look on our resumes and get sloppy. This planet is still one of the most dangerous environments human archaeologists have ever excavated in, and we’ve still got two weeks left to work. Let’s make them count. And one more thing. Please. Remember the people whose property we’re unearthing gave their lives for us. So. Respect. Caution. Let’s get back to work.”
