Ume, feeling the need for revenge on her previous failure, takes out another throwing knife. The pain in her bandaged arm forgotten, she throws it. The knife spirals toward the chimera and lodges right between its eyes. The chimera shudders, stumbles and falls.
Ume grins at Serithia and gives a sigh of relief.
((Chimera dead. Third hit. Woot woot! Go Slytherin on this kill!))

Hearing a cry from behind her Serithia spins around, readying her bow. Right behind her (or in front as she just turned around) is another Chimera. As the monster is too close, she abandons thoughts of hitting it and dives out the way of its claws.

"Great job guys. I'm so sorry I haven't been of much help. I'm not very good at dodging these monsters." Lyra sighs, disappointed in herself. She wanted so badly to help and prove that she CAN do something useful. "I'm so sorry I've let everyone down."

"Don't worry about it Lyra," Serithia calls out, rolling upright out of her dive. Grabbing another arrow she lets it fly at the Chimera. The arrow hit it's throat and the Chimera went down. "See, we got it," she says with a smile, "Just rest up and heal so you can get back in the fight."
((Instant kill, Chimera's dead))

Ume leans back against the wall again catching her breath. She looks to Serithia who narrowly avoids a swipe from the Chimera's talons. "Close one..." she whispers.
Lyra is nearby looking disappointed, she is hurt from the last monster. Ume grasps her bandaged arm. "Tougher than it looks... ...without wands..." She looks at the students still fighting. "I wouldn't feel like I was letting anyone down. It is better to try than to do nothing at all."
Serithia goes for a second round and kills the chimera instantly. "Amazing shot Serithia!!" Ume calls.

Turning her smile on her housemate Serithia calls out "Thanks!" and looks around, waiting for the next creature to appear. She's enjoying the break, but knows the monsters are far from all gone.

Lyra winces as she sees a Chimera standing so close to Serithia, but Serithia manages to get out of the way just in time. "Thank goodness." She watches as Serithia gets up and shoots the Chimera in the throat. It falls down, dead. "Excellent shot, Serithia. I'm so glad you're here to help us fight. You too Ume."
Lyra hears Ume say something to her. "That's true. Thanks, guys." Lyra replies, feeling much better (mentally, not physically). "Now then, I really need to find something to bandage my leg with before I loose too much blood."

Jess walks over to Lyra and bends down. She then rips off a piece of her robe and ties it around the gash in Lyra's leg.

Taking advantage of the break in monsters, Serithia walks over to Ume as Lyra is being taken care of by Jess. "How's the arm?" she asks.

Lyra sees Jess walking over to her. She watches as Jess ties a piece of her robe around her leg, and winces as it's pulled tight. "Thank you, Jess." Lyra hears Serithia ask Ume about her arm. "It's so nice to know you've got friends you can depend on in a situation like this." Lyra smiles faintly at the three of them, then closes her eyes, knowing she needs to rest if she wants to be able to fight again.
