Muse looked at Aria and shook her head, but before she could explain she was given the two packages that held her new attire and her dress. When the woman began to take Donovan away, Muse turned to Aria and sighed. "I don't know Aria...I always get this weird feeling around people. I can't really tell if it's good or bad, but it's usually bad. No offense, I got the same feeling around you when I first met ya, but since you were so nice, I assumed that you were a good person, and you are. But guys are different. A bloke could put on the facade that he's the most chipper lad in all the land, but he'll turn out to be a royal arse, you know?" It was the only way she could explain her feelings towards the situation at hand without being too weird about it. Plus she had experience in this sort of field.

Listening closely, she nodded. In a way, she understood. You never knew what someone was going to be like, and she was relieved to hear Muse had changed her initial opinion about her. Despite turning her into a vampire, thought Aria. Shadow's father and uncle were perfect examples of just how different two people could be. Her uncle was sweet through and through, if not crazy. Then you came to her father. He acted proper and gentlemanly enough, but he was cruel inside. "But you have to give everyone a chance to prove themselves one way or another."

Muse sighed softly and looked over to Donovan while he was getting measured, then looked back to Aria to speak to her. "I know, I know...but it just seems a bit dodgy to me...blokes just aren't the most trustworthy to a girl like me, ya know?" It was true for her, she had been hurt a lot growing up, and a lot of guys had promised her many things and said their "I love you"s, but in the end, they all ended up leaving her after getting something from her. She just couldn't trust guys when it came to relationships, weather it be friendship or lover related.

"I think I do, actually." She grasped what Muse was saying, though it only created more questions about her new friend's past. Their upbringings had been so different, even Shadow could conclude that, but they must have some common groud somewhere. "You're call. Leave or stay?" She had made Marie come back in, but if they left again, that would be that. Would they see this boy again? That was the older vampire's worry. He seemed to be a student, but would they have much of a chance to talk with him again?

Finally reaching their original destination, the girl stopped just outside the shop to read an advertisment in the window. It's purpose was to tell students this is where to get their uniforms for Grove Academy and the different styles. "Well at least their green." Verdi mumbled to herself. The idea of her in a uniform was laughable. It's all for research, it's all just for research. Chanting that in her mind, she took a deep breath and led the way into the shop.
The tinkling of a bell announced their arrival. The clotheir looked up for a moment, acknowledged them with a wave, and then went back to work. Three students were already inside, a boy and two girls. The boy was getting measured at the moment. Opting to keep her social contact limited to her traveling parter right now, Verdi started looking through the different racks of clothes. There were some cute ones here and there, but most of the clothes were things you couldn't pay the female student to wear.

........... / Previous /The clothing store was small, but it had a good variety of clothing. More interesting to Gerald were the other students already inside the store, most likely obtaining their uniforms. The three of them looked more likely to be important social connections than Verdi. The girls were both pretty and looked older than he was; the boy was probably nearer to he and Verdi's ages, tall, and a bit rugged. Gerald needed to make a good impression here. He tried to look relaxed without slouching. Body language spoke louder than words, especially in Gerald's case, where the words were few. Taking stock, it seemed like the two girls were just about ready to leave. He got the distinct feeling they were talking about the other young man in the shop, perhaps waiting for him or planning to talk to him. For his part, the other boy kept shooting glances their way while the store employee finished taking his measurements. Typical boy-girl games, Gerald thought. The shopkeeper straightened from taking her final measurements and looked up at the new arrivals. "One moment," she told the pair, and Gerald was surprised to hear that her English was heavily accented. Turning back to the first boy, she said, "If you will be kind enough to wait out here, I will get your uniforms right away." She bustled away into the back of the store, leaving them to wait for a few moments in silence. Gerald tried not to look too distant; if the other students wanted to talk, he hoped that he and Verdi looked approachable. Or maybe Verdi would surprise him and approach them? He doubted it. He paused to consider whether he should make an introduction or let the scene in the shop play out as it would.

Muse was looking at Donovan as he had finished and he merely looked back at her, smiling warmly and causing Muse to turn away shyly, her face a little red. When she finally got her act together, she looked at Aria, although it was a look of uncertainty as if she were a child. "Well...I...I don't know...we got whot we came for...maybe we could...." She stopped mid-sentence due to the fact that two more people, a boy and a girl, had come in and it seemed that they were her age, although she couldn't tell for sure. With a flustered sigh, she quickly turned towards the door, and after walking past both the new boy and girl that had entered, she opened the door that led to the outside of the shop and sighed a bit, saddened that she had just left without warning and that she let a boy cause her to act so foolishly.
--------------------------------------
Donovan, who had finally finished getting measured, was gently led over to an area for him to wait, which was near Aria, which at the exact same time, caused Muse to leave the store quietly. Feeling as if he was the cause of something, Donovan looked to Aria and sighed a bit. "Well...if I have done anything to hurt Marie's feelings, please tell her that I'm sorry. I don't want her to run every time she sees me." He said with a nervous smile as he nodded politely to the two that had just entered in the background.

((Sorry it took so long for a reply sweatdrop School took some figuring out. Even I'm wishing for the weekend already gonk ))
Shadow nodded. "Of course I'll tell her." Smiling, she looked over Donovan a last time. He really did seem like a nice guy. "Don't worry, you're a student, so I'm sure we'll see you around." With a quick wave to the boy and the two newcomers, the vampire was out the door after her friend.
Finding Muse on a bench just outside the shop, Shadow joined her. "Well, what a shopping trip we had. That new dress is just so lovely on you."
The woman came back with a uniform for Donovan, handing it to him, she gestured to the other two students to come over. "Come on dears, let's get you measured."
Verdi had watched everything unfold, and now had to take another deep breath. She began chanting her earlier thought in her head about research.
Walking to the lady, the spirit-seer was able to smile and attempt a friendly attitude as she said hello to the boy. "Hello there, the name's Verdi." As the clothier put her up on a small pedestal to be measured, she gave the unknown boy a questioning look to indicate she wished to know his name as well. Hopefully Gerald would talk to him and that would be it for her friendly participation.

(Sorry for the short post. I was going to wait for Donovan's response, but then it occurred to me that people might be waiting on me. *sheepish*)Their arrival seemed to break up whatever had been going on. With few words, the two girls in the shop departed. Gerald felt a bit slighted; they hadn't so much as looked at Verdi and him. The other boy at least nodded in their direction. Verdi surprised him by promptly introducing herself. As she was measured, Gerald looked around the store, watching the other boy out of the corner of his eye.

((Sorry I took so long....won't happen again...))
Donovan merely nodded and smiled holding the package that was given to him so quickly. As he watched the one named Verdi go to get measured, he noticed the look right away and bowed a bit out of courtesy. "Ah, my name is Donovan Mikhail Olonov, although most people like to call me Donny for short." He said with a smile before turning to the boy that was looking around the shop. "And my I ask who you are my friend?"
--------------------------------------
Muse looked up rather quickly as she realized that she was being talked to by her best friend Aria. With a smile, she nodded and looked back at the packages in her hands. "Well....it is nice. But whot do ya think I'll need a dress like this for?" She asked, a little curious as to what might be coming up in the future.

Verdi actually sighed in relief. The attention of Donovan, she didn't know if she liked 'Donny', was now on Gerald. Sure he had taken what she said really well, something the had her almost estatic, but he could probably use contact with someone else. Just glancing down at her clothes, the girl knew you could tell she was a bit on the odd side.
"You're done deary." Verdi was broken from her trance by the woman's voice. Nodding, she stepped down and to the side, out of the way. The clothier motioned for Gerald to take his place on the small platform.
Her eyes wandered around the shop, resting for a moment on a small section of shoes. Could she find boots she liked here? Small feet wriggled around in the worn out boots. Not that there was much of a choice as to not getting new boots. The ones the spirit-seer wore were not long for this world much longer. Yes, she'd definitely get boots today.
The older of the two girls shrugged and smiled. "You never know. It's always good to have a dress like that in your wardrobe. Unexpected events come around and what would you do with nothing to wear?" Surely this school had events such as nice dances. Perhaps something for Halloween would be coming up. Such schools as this were usually noted for their Holiday events, weren't they? Aria was fairly sure of this. "Either way, we've secured what we need from here. Where to next?" As far as she knew, there was no where they needed to be, but it wasn't like she trusted her own memory.

The other boy had a thick accent, which sounded Eastern European or Russian to Gerald. Donovan Mikhail Olonov, he repeated to himself, trying to burn it to memory. Donovan had good manners, at the very least, and Gerald thought he should respond similarly. He crossed over to Donovan and put out his hand for a handshake. "Gerald Campbell." He was interrupted momentarily by the shopkeeper's summons. He gave Donovan a vaguely apologetic look before moving to the measuring platform. Figuring now was as good a time as any to start familiarizing himself with the town merchants, he tried to catch the woman's name. "Thank you, Miss...?" "Madame Vernier," she corrected, concentrating more on the measuring than on conversation. Taking the hint, Gerald posed as she wanted him to and turned his attention back to Donovan. Maybe he could get the foreign boy talking. "So, I assume you're attending Grove Academy. First year?" (Is it just me or is Gaia a bit glitchy today? I had a heck of a time getting the forums to load and post... -_-)

Donovan smiled and shook his head in understanding when Gerald was called away. Both Gerald and Verdi seemed like a rather nice bunch of people, so he knew he would be okay with them. When he was asked if he was new, Donovan nodded and kept his warm smile.
"Yes, it is my first time here. I came from Russia in order to learn a bit more about the world around, maybe get to meet new friends." Donovan said in his usual accent as he placed his hands in his pockets and looked over to Verdi, who seemed to be checking out a pair of boots that looked rather good on her in his opinion. "What about the both of you? You seem new like me, but looks can be decieving, ya?"
--------------------------------------
Muse smiled wearily and looked up at Aria nodded. "I suppose you're righ'." Muse hadn't thought about the events of the school. It wasn't like she had been to a school in the first place. Everything that she knew was taught to her at her orphanage and the only event that went on around there was the celebration of someone being adopted, or the punishment of another orphan when they stole something.
When she was asked where she would like to go next, Muse thought for a moment, then looked to her stomach as she felt it growl softly. "I could use some vittles righ' about now...they got anythin' ta eat around 'ere?"

"Yeah, but we're new." Verdi nodded vaguely as she picked up a pair of boots in her size and tried them on, sitting down. They were simple black leather lace-up boots, no zipper, and they went up to her knees. The student observed them for a moment, contimplating whether or not she liked them. Yes, she most definitely did. No need to take them off, in a place like this she could just pay for them and wear them out of the store, that would suffice. Lost in thought, her eyes wandered, widened, and then quickly looked away. Her face was a mask of calm again, but once again, there was a distracted aura to her. What had that spirit gone through in life? Such grotesque wounds!
"I think I read about an inn nearby, or a tavern if you've the notion." Truely either one would suffice their needs, though the tavern was more shady by far. Not to say that that wouldn't be a fun experience, but who knew? Must could decide between the two options and Aria would be just fine with either. Now what was it that was so important that she was suppose to be doing for Muse?
