 Desert followed River and the others into the cave without a word. He inclined his head slightly in respect as he passed the two females he hadn't met. He watched the pup at Diego's feet wondering why she was upset. Laying down away from the others, as he wasn't sure how rank fit in here, Desert told himself to say hi to the female cub later. Maybe they could be friends? Sighing, he turned his eyes toward the Alphas, waiting for them to begin whatever it was they had been brought here for.

River looked at everyone as they came in and smiled at each. Her eyes kept flickering over to Ren who she wished and hoped would be happier at some point. Now though was time to get everyone talking and set down the rules.
"Thank you for coming in here we won't be having these alot unless there is something important. I want to just explain a coupe of things about the pack." She paused and sighed a little. Her eyes flicker over the pups and then Ren once more before looking at her mate. "First I will apologize for my mate." A smirk arose on her face as she looked to him, "He was a few screw lose and please whatever you do, dont hurt any squirrels you may see. He sees them as friends!" She did kinda speak as if he wasn't there but she liked messing with him. It was fun.
"Oh and about ranking. We may find Beta's at some point if we make friends I guess, oh and we wont have any Gammas in the pack unless someone really wants to be. So all the Gammas look after each other and try to treat each other equally." She paused again trying not to look at Ren at this point. "That is probably it for now. However I would like you to at least tell each other your names and try to remember them. Then you may do what you want." She smiled and laid down on the ground letting Diego speak if he so wished.

 Diego smirked knowing most of what was said was completly true. He wasn't the most stable or mature. In truth River was the one who mostly ran the pack. He was just there for show. Parting his lips he let out a childish giggle and loved over to River who seamed to be doing a very good job at keeping the pack in line. "Nope I think my mate got everything out on the table." His maw spread into a wider smile. It was no wonder he scared all the puppies like so. He'd probally be afraid of himself had they both met.
Shruging he moved forwards and sat next to River. Giving her a quick nuzzle he grinned playfully at the rest of the pack. He just couldn't act serious in any situation- like he was a premanat joker or something along those lines. He was just more amazed then anything that none of the other wolves tried to challenge him for his position. Blinking he turned his head and nuzzled River. "Love you so much!" His tail wagged in a puppish manor. That was one thing about Diego- no matter how many fights or scars he carried inwardly he'd always be a little puppy. As if the events of his life didn't effect him.

 Nudging the tired pup reasuringly Koenshan joined the others. The green and blue wolf managed to slip into the cave just before the "meeting" officially took place. There had been something strange in the way the injured older female had looked at him. It had caused him to pause, and nearly miss the meeting. He had shaken his head with disgust for himself; it was probably nothing more than his being used to being overlooked by females anyway.
His focus was not quite what it should have been when River began to speak. However her words brought Koenshan's thoughts quickly & sharply into focus. The brightly colored Diego's following words and actions backed up his alpha mate on every level but left Koenshan reeling in confusion. The words were out before he could help it. He just stared at Diego & blurted out "You're really the Alpha?"
In those split seconds one has after their tongue has wagged but before anything else can occur Koenshan regretted his careless choice of words. His mind & heart were already seeing how good a job River could do as Alpha, it was only his instincts -or was it merely upbringing- that was not comprehending a strong female leader. The loose form of the pack really appealed to the hurt & lost scout. He was starting to realize that it was not just a pack he had been blindly seeking. Koenshan was looking for a place he could be home.
Hopefully he had not just blown it. He winced.((ah... lots of RP while I was gone. *sheepish* I can't get a lot of Gaia time in on the weekends right now, so there's a chance I'll miss the bigger RP times. Just FYI))

Had it been any other wolf that the question been adressed to, the lower male would have been ripped apart. Diego on the other hand was easy going, and frankly the question just made him beam. "Yup I'm the Alpha." He nodded his head in a puppish manor and wagged his tail happily. "And my mate River is the Alpha too!" The Rainbow wolf had never met Koenshan before so he thought it was a friendly question of him wanting to know the pack better.
Santering over to the blueish green wolf he sat infront of the other looking him in the eye. But they weren't filled with hate- but more of a desire to play and make friends with everyone. "So did you just join the pack? I haven't seen you around here befo-" But before he could finish his mind wandered onto something else. "Did you know theres an abandon human village around here!" His backend sprung up from sitting to standing as if a scorpion had stung his rear. "Have you been there?" His tounge lolled out playfully again; he was two seconds from play bowing and inviting the other to wrestle when he caught Rivers ever watchful eye. And with much effort pulled himself to a sitting position again.
"Ummm yea- sorry about that. Welcome to the pack anyway." Grinning sheepishly he looked around to the others in the cave and smirked like he knew he was the one caught with his paws in the cookie jar.

River's glare at Diego had worked. She sighed and smiled at the green wolf before laying down on the dusty ground. She watched the two pups, hopefully they would become good friends one day. She was overlly happy here apart from seeing Ren. She looked awful and clearly wasn't happy for some reason or another. It saddened her to know that some weren't happy here but she had to accept it. The others seemed to be getting on well.
Out of boredom she yawned and looked at everyone, ok once you have all introduced yourselves to each other we are all going hunting apart from Diego who will stay and look after the pups. She had decided that he would be better off with the pups then off hunting however she did whisper something in his ear about being nice and remembering that they are both younger then himself.

Diego himself was never 'not nice'; 'Scary and somewhat disturbing' yes but not the later. He actully liked pup sitting even though he was relitivly skilled at hunting and bringing down big game. But he supposed he did understand it, with his track record he really couldn't be trusted to keep his mouth shut and his energy in line. Grinning sheepishly he turned with a milatristic pose towards River. "Righto-" Then softly he whispered back. "I'll do my best m'love. And I wish you a safe and prosperious hunt." He then turned and looked at the pups that were now in his charge. He was really going to have to grow up one of these days- he was after all the Alpha of an ever growing pack. His eyes caught Rivers; he was just a burden to her as a youngling. Smiling warmly he was going to try and grow-up just for her, because he loved her that much and she was worth every moment of it.

Desert sat up when he heard River's announcement about the hunt, and a smile twitched at the corners of his mouth. A real meal...finally. He had been living off what bugs he could catch and the occasional carcass of small animals he came across, ever since he had been forced to leave his home. Of course, if this pack worked like his old one, he would be one of the last to eat, but that didn't really matter to him, so long as he got something. But then again...this pack so far was nothing like his old one...so maybe food distribution would be different as well. He sat back on his haunches and watched the Alphas, supposing he would have to wait until the hunting party returned before he would find out.
As Diego approached, Desert tilted his head to the side, studying the wildly colored wolf and trying to figure him out. He was like no other wolf the pup had ever encountered, so he didn't know the best way to deal with him. Blinking at the Alpha, Desert chose to be silent for the moment, waiting to see what Diego might have in mind for them. He cast a sidelong glance at the other pup, wondering what she was thinking.

 Cinder let river carry her, until they were in the cave. She had never seen the inside yet and she blinked as her eyes adjusted to the light... She wriggled as river placed her down and didn't know what she was supposed to do.. She laid on the floor of the cave her ears back as she listened to River. Food! it would be wonderful to have a full belly... though she had never really had a full belly before, she was always last to pick off the bones.
She perked up her ears when she heard river was leaving her with the male wolf! She let out a small whine, she turned and looked at the other pup... she had not bothered to introduce herself to the rest.. she was after all on the low end as she thought, so she thought the introduction wasn't meant for her.
Cinder yawned, she was tired, she had not slept much over the last few days and she found herself closeing her eyes in a half sleep stareing at the other coloriful pup

River looked down at the two pups knowing that Cinder was a little scared of Diego. She sighed before turning to her mate and licking at his muzzle, "Ok then. You want to go do the hunt?" She smiled her eyes darting at the scared looking Cinder. Maybe it would be better if River stayed here and Diego fulfill his role of alpha by taking the others out, it would be upto him obviously, just maybe it would be nice for him to do something for once instead of her always doing it.

Diego's carefree response to what could very easily have been a dangerous question imediately relaxed Koenshan. It was easy to see him switch from wincing -waiting for the blow to drop- to utterly relaxed. The tenstion left his muscles letting the male slump comfortably. Even as he relxed however the emotional rollercoaster of reacting to the Alpha Male's words & behavior was becoming more than Koenshan could keep in check. His mouth opened as if to answer Diego's first question, still rather relaxed. At the mention of humans though his recent experiences with thier distruction instantly bristled Koen's fur & darkened his eyes. Hastily the green & blue wolf tried to get control of himself. But he was tired yet. It seemed to him too much was going on, too strangely, for him to keep up with it all. Wrestling with himself internally he sat, lay down, lowering his head down to show submisiveness that perhaps would counter any discourtesy he might have shown with his previous exhausted actions. "I, ah, hope to join your pack. My late pack called me Koenshan..."
His voice trailed off slightly as his tired mind let the memories roll in once more. Only his empty stomache seemed to catch River's words on a hunt at first, for it rumbled loudly. Koenshan shifted in embarrassment as his thoughts returned to this moment. He smiled happily at the realization that not only did there seem to be no other trial or battle to join the pack, but there would soon be food too. His belly rumbled in agreement as Koenshan 'replayed' to himself what his ears had heard while his mind was drifting. When he realized that one Alpha had told the other to stay behind with the cubs he could not contain his shock. His mouth dropped, & for scant moments he could do little but just gape while looking at the two Alphas in turn. Blinking forcibly he tossed his head & grinned. This was certainly strange company he found himself in. Koenshan hoped he was up to the challenge of never knowing what would happen in a given moment. No drone of monotony in this pack!
Then just as suddenly it seemed to him the Alphas appeared about to swap places. Confussion washed over him in what was beginning to be a familiar wave. It was evident in his eyes, the flip of an ear, the tilt of his head. As soon as Koenshan was aware of his transparency he forced himself once again to his 'natural' calm. Lifting his head with pride he gazed at the Alphas. "I will follow whoever leads the hunt."
A hunt would be good in many ways. Food for the belly. Food for the soul. And almost more importantly for Koen in this instant: a chance to do something 'normal' where his instincts could override his emotions. Yes, this hunt would be good.((meh... laptop issues & RL obligations lead to no RPing for me this past week. At lest now I'm set to go again!))

In the mood to do some wandering, and a little tired of the Alphas taking so long to decide what they were doing, Desert silently crept away and slipped into the trees. He intended to be back by the time the hunting party returned, as he was still rather hungry. He also hoped that he wouldn't get in trouble, but the urge to wander and explaore was too strong at the moment to be ignored...

 Raising from her laying position back to her haunches at the mention of a hunt, Inazuma licked her maw. Standing up she stretches out, stomach protesting and telling her to hunt now rather then wait for the others. Stiffling it, she sat back down to wait for the others to get ready.

At the female's movement Koenshan's ear twitched. Part of him wanted to look & see exactly what she was doing, try to read anything from her body language. The other part was holding him still, waiting for a sign from the Alphas. At least one of the Alphas. A lifetime of pack rules & regulations held firm. For the moment.
