She waited as the heard trampled under her. Some leaping while all moved. What a thrill to be next to life and death again in this way. Dancer set the basket on a branch and made ready for a leap. She would either do this well or have a story to tell when she got back to the others of how she flopped onto then ground.
Waiting till most had gone by Dancer held her breath then leaped. As she did so her mind lost focus for a heartbeat. In that heartbeat her chance was lost. Smacking into the animals back she tried to land sitting but it was not to be. She was more flat then needed and although the animal staggered a bit under the extra weight it soon recovered and Dancer slid to the ground with a thud. The wind knocked out of her she just lay there a moment till all was still again. Her head spun when she finally opened her eyes. It seemed so quiet. "Fire Bright" the call was weak and shaken but the big cat didn't come running. Placing a hand to her head she rolled to her back. The clear sky peeked through the trees that lined the field but it was still so quiet. Sitting up slowly Dancer looked around. A short distance she could see her fuzzy friend eating his kill. Still the sky was silent other then an odd bird here and there. She lay back again. Her chest hurt from the crash so she turned to her side. If she shut her eyes a few moments Fire Bright would warn her of any danger.

OOC: The roll is how bad her head is hurt.

The send touched her mind lightly. Waking her but her head hurt so much. *I.... Yes..... Get back...* Llune could feel the pain in Dancers head. It clouded as she tired to focus. The send held another pain in it as well, her chest. By now Fire Bright was making his way over to Dancer and licking her face. The slightly dazed elf pushed him away and grumbled. "You get a full belly and my new tribe gets nothing. Not even a skin to show for it." The sigh made her wince a bit and standing made her face twist. This would not be a swift trip back. Though her head throbbed she wondered what was going on back at the cove.

Llune's return send is worried - about Dancer, and about the news she's heard, **There is a dangerous storm coming... Can you return quickly? Or is there a place for you to weather it?** she sends, concern as evident as her lack of solid knowledge about the situation, **Should I... Should I send Savith?**

At the mention of Savith her mind almost snaps Llune like teeth. *No.* If she searches the feelings though it is clearly because she wants nobody hurt trying to help her. That she is not worth the risk of their lives. The shortness of breath clearly leaking through as she labors. Walking hurts, ridding hurts and breathing is a nightmare along with the pounding in her brain. *I'll be fine or I'll find someplace to wait it out. If it's only rain and sky fire I should be ok.* She takes a breath. *Please Llune, don't worry and just tell everyone I will be ok.* Then Dancer started to look around in the woods to see if she could find a hole or something to stay dry in.

**We shall stay in contact... Are you hurt? Crosscurrent has warned us... It seems extreme...** The sending is filled with concern and thoughtful trying to understand what's going on.... The problem with being able to send emotion is that panic can transfer like wildfire. **Find a place that will be safe. Are you okay? You seem... Pained.** Yep, that's Llune. Always polite, even during an emergency.

Dancers send is worried as well. Ripples of pain flow with it as do feelings of embarrassment. *I fell and hurt my side. It's hard to breath but I can. My head hurts too but I think that will pass. I'm looking for a place to hold up during the rains. Please don't tell anyone to come get me. I will find a place to keep dry.* Then her mind focused a bit more on what Llune said. *Is Crosscurrent safe in the vast deep? Does he need any help?* The worry in her send growing as she pressed on but kept her eyes open for a tree or something to hunker down in. She soon came across what must have been a fox den or some other animal in the base of an old tree. Dancer called and had Fire Bright dig it out a bit more so she could scoot into it. Oh that hurt so much to crawl and twist. Inside the hole opened up just a bit. Enough for her to sit and nothing more. Her mind tried hard to send to Crosscurrent though she knew it most likely wouldn't reach. Still she wanted to try. *Are you safe in the vast deep my dear one? Do you need help where you are?* Dancer also tried to keep any pain from the send. It took great focus but alone in the hole what else did she have to do? After that was done she sent Fire Bright off to find a safe place as well. In truth she would have loved her furry friend to hold on to but now, alone in the hole under the tree all she had was herself as the sky started to darken and she just put her hands over her ears with eyes closed tight. Fear creeping into her swiftly as the darkness in the sky grew and wind the picked up.

Llune's return send is filled with concern but reassurance as well, **I will tell them you are safe to weather the storm. But I will stay in touch with you throughout. Have you found a place that is safe? It seems as though the weather will be dangerous... There may be flooding as well... How far out are you?**

Ah Llune, the ever concerned mothers voice was nice to hear as Dancer started to be swallowed up by fear. Her mind snapped back from it by the send. *I am in an animals den. It is on the ground under a tree so if it floods I will just climb the tree. I might be a bit more then half way through the woods from where you are. Please don't risk any life for me.* The send rippled with a mix of fear and growing despair. Dancer was having a hard time dealing with being alone during what might as well be the second upheaval of the world. She kept repeating to herself for it to end quickly and to touch none of her new family.

Llune sends to Dancer, still full of concern, **The group wishes to bring you back... I believe they will send StarSong to fetch you... We think there are a few hours before the storm begins, still. You should not be alone through this...** The send echoes the near-panic of the group and Llune's concern. **We are moving to a cave soon, either yours or mine, the decision has yet to be made... Please make your way back to us, my dear, and StarSong will be along to assist you soon.**

Again the send pulls her from the edge of panic. Still when Dancer hears that someone is being sent she isn't happy. Grumbling and groaning she pulls herself from the animal hole. Brushing herself off she looks up at the sky then into the woods. She would not call her friend from whatever safety he has found for himself and would not let anyone be hurt trying to save her if she could help it. So she started to walk again. It was slow and each breath was burning her right side she pushed on. Dancer calmed her mind and stopped walking for a moment as she let her mind reach out to gentle Llunes again. *I am on my way. I have left the hole and will be back. It does no good for the wolfrider to come if I can't ride. If I could I would have rode Fire Bright back. If on my way back the High Ones see fit to have me join them then so be it. I do not wish to take anyone to see them with me.* Her send was scared and pained but most of all it was filled with acceptance. A feel of whatever happens, happens and she is glad it happen to her then any of them. *Oh* Her mind lightly touching Llunes once more. *Tell my brother to find the joy in a smile and for Blaze to not pick fights with the baby bird. Thank you Llune for always being so kind to me.* And then her mind is gone. The send was oddly calm, as if she was ready to face her end on the way back.

Llune's send is firm, like a mother telling a little one to be good in church, **Starsong will be there shortly, do not despair. There is time before the storm, little one, we are all working together to weather this storm. We will survive *together*, so quiet your goodbyes. Is there a direction I should send Starsong in, or would you have her wander the whole of the cliff forests looking for you?** Llune's mind remains open to Dancer while she pauses, her concern and frustration at Dancer's resignation to needlessly sacrifice herself is evident but wordless for a moment. **We must all stay together, that is what a tribe does, right?** she sends at last, almost pleading for an agreement, clearly hoping to inspire Dancer to hold out hope.

All Dancer says quietly is, *The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. Keep her with you. One way or another I will come home.* The fear still rippled under the calm that had settled in her. It was easy to face death bravely when all was so still for the moment. The woods falling as silent as death themselves as animals made ready for bad weather as well. Dancer stopped and took a breath slowly but deeply. It hurt so much more then quick little breaths and she wanted to lay down again but knew better. She lifted a hand to her side where the pain came from. The pain eased up just a bit. The burning not so strong but her head fuzzy now. Moving to the ground she felt dizzy and sat with her eyes closed. Leaning against a tree it wasn't long before she did what she knew she shouldn't and fell asleep.

As she made her way down the forest path, the second she caught ahold of Dancer's scent, she went into hunting mode. She felt that Shine had done the same. Her hair standing on end, even the faintest of breezes sent thrills up and down her body, there was electricity in the air, from the oncoming storm, and the excitement of the hunt. It never ceased to amaze her, this feeling, every time she went out, it never dulled, it only seemed to grow stronger.
She clung to Shine's back as he ran through the tree's, skirting rocks and shrubs with ease and landing softly on the leaf strewn ground. Their bodies moving as one as she followed the scent. It was something that was alive, she could almost see it, she imagined every hunter was keen to this view and she never spoke of it as if it were almost a universal truth.
Minutes passed, and the scent grew stronger, another scent as well, prey. And for a moment, they were distracted in their task, how could she have not noticed this before, it was a different way, a way she'd not traveled yet.

It took a little time but Dancers eyes fluttered and in time she was awake. She wondered why she was getting dizzy so much as she slowly made her way to her feet. Looking back into the forest Dancer fought the urge to call Fire Bright back to her. Without him she felt very alone. Dancer moved slowly. Her head still hurt and she was sure she felt a lump on it, her side still hurt but at least it wasn't burning to breath and now she had dizzy spells to worry about. She wondered if Star was on her way or if they kept her safe at the cave like she asked. The thought pushed her forward. She walked on. Softly she hummed to herself to keep from thinking about much of anything other then getting back.
