Lianna shook her head. "Thanks. And it's ok. You did a good job." She took the boards and the fabric and made a brace for herself. When she finished, she sighed in relief. "Much better. Thank you, again." She told Julie. "I'm Lianna, by the way." The cat from earlier walked in and jumped on her lap."There you are, my friend. I was wondering where you ran off to." She smiled at the cat and began to stroke it's back. Lianna looked back at the girl. "You know you could try and take your blindfold off. It's not that bright in here."

Julie hesitated for a moment, then shrugged. She'd trusted Lianna this long, so why not? She slipped the blindfold down around her neck, letting it hang loosely there. Blinking rapidly, she let her pale blue eyes adjust to the sudden light. "It's no problem, Lianna. I should be thanking you." She smiled and sat beside her new friend. "My name is Artemis, but everyone calls me Julie." The pain in her leg had eased and now that she could see, she knew why. The Underling girl had fashioned a brace for her leg, supporting it. She extended a hand to scratch the cat behind the ears. "It got quiet outside." She murmured, looking concerned. "I wonder what happened..."

The cat purred as Julie petted the cat. "Yeah, I just hope no one got hurt." Lianna said. Julie's eyes reminded her of her sister and everyone back at home. Lianna sighed and lied back. "I don't know. I just hope everyone is alright." She said. Chills ran over Lianna's body. In the dark, Lianna could hear more cat's meow. They ran up to her and jumped on her lap, creating heat with their fur. "Guys, I'm fine. Really." She giggled to the cats. A smaller cat walked up to her and placed a fresh dead fish on her lap. "Aww thanks." She said and snapped the fish in half and handed one half to Julie. "Here. You'll need your strength." Lianna told her before taking a bite into her piece.

Julie smiled. "Thanks." She was looking at Lianna, but her hand was on the little cat, including her in her gratitude. It was a little tan-and-white calico kitten. The little female purred, rubbing her cheek againt Lianna's chin. Julie bit into the fish gratefully. She wasn't a fan of meat, raw or otherwise, but it was a lot better than some of the stuff she'd eaten recently, and definitely better than not eating at all. Aiming her pale gaze at her companion, Julie tilted her her slightly, scratching the little calico under the chin. "You were concerned about the others..." Letting her eyes slide out of focus, she searched for the emotional signatures pf their friends. "I think they're alright..." The blonde frowned slightly, troubled. "It's a bit hard to sense them. But I don't feel any pain." Re-focusing on Lianna, she blushed slightly. "Gomen. I'm an empath; I can feel the pain and emotions of those around me." She gestured at Lianna's splinted leg. "That's how I knew you were hurt."

Lianna finished most of fish but gave the rest to the cats. She looked up at Julie. "I'm glad you were there to feel my pain. Literally." She chuckled. "Other wise I would have been there for hours. Just waiting for them to finish with the beast." She paused and listened but she couldn't hear anything. "I just hope everyone is ok. They should know to come in here. At least I hope they do." Some of the cats fell asleep on her lap. Lianna looked at Julie. "This is a a little random, but you have beautiful eyes."

Julie blinked, surprised by the abrupt change of subject. "Well, thank you." She murmured. She'd never paid much attention to her own appearance, being far too caught up in finding her family and exploring the human world. Taking in Lianna's face, she smiled and reach out to gently touch one of her friend's furry ears. "I like your ears. They're really cute." Glancing down at her legs, which were scaly, reptilian and built more like a raptor's than a human's, the girl made a face. "I suppose most people would prefer furry to scaly, huh?" She laughed a little, glad she had never really cared what she looked like. One of the cats that was still awake started to play with the twitching and of Julie's dextile tail, and she giggled, watching the feline. "Do they follow you everywhere?"

Lianna nodded. "I can call one and get a whole lot of them. Sometimes they just come to me. Like all of these guys here." She pointed at all the cats around the couch. "We can sense when other felines are near. It tends to be a comfort when you get lonely." She said remembering all the times she cried at home.

"That's gotta be handy when you're cold at night." Julie pointed out with a smile, still stroking the little calico. Her eyes took on a kind of dreamy expression and she chuckled. "I remember when I was little there was a cat who wandered down into the caves. It was such a sweet little thing..."

"When I was little, I used to be afraid of cats. They would follow me everywhere. I was thought they were going to eat my face or something." Lianna chuckled. Most of the cats had fallen asleep already.
"Back home I heard something called the zoo. Where wild animals are locked up and they have cats that I've only seen in pictures." Lianna thought for a moment, trying to figure out the names. "I think my father called them the striped ones torgils. The big orange ones linolas, who he also said were King of the Jungle. The spotted ones Cheekas and the big black ones pandoras." She paused. "Or was that a box?" She said to herself. "Anyway, he told me I should stay clear of them because we don't know what the animals will do."

Julie watched her friend, her eyes growing wide at her mention of these wild animals that she'd never even heard of before. A disturbing thought struck her, and she frowned slightly. "But... don't you think that's cruel? Putting animals in cages isn't right." She paused, looking troubled as she gazed at the cat in her lap. "I just can't imagine that anyone would be happy living in a cage." Her thoughts strayed to her own form. Being half-animal herself, she could understand the feeling of being trapped; boxed in and unable to escape...

Lianna nodded. "That's what I thought to. When I told my father, he explained that they're caged to show humans what they look like. To actually see that they exist. You know, to really see them face to face. He told me they're never tortured." She shrugged. "I want to see them for myself. To actually see how they feel and if they like it. But I'm afraid how they will act when they seem me." One of the cats that was still awake, walked up to her and started to rub faces with Lianna.

Julie smiled slightly. "Well, if I had to guess by the way these kitties are treating you," She murmured, still scratching the calico's ears, "I'd say that they'd probably like you a lot." Her thoughts barreled off without her, wandering over her own affinity with lizards. It was a very slim one. She could comunicate through body language to just about any animal that she wasn't the threat and wanted to help, but that was only because she had a tail. "Do they talk to you? I mean, can you understand them, or is it just that they life you a lot?"

Lianna thought for a moment. "Sometimes. Most of the time it's a feeling more than an actual communication. Other times, though, I can hear them in my head. I guess it depends on the cat themselves." She told Julie. The cat that was rubbing faces with her cuddled in her arms and lied there as Lianna petter her.

((Are we switching colors now? xd ))
Julie smiled, her gaze wandering over the cats before her. She was capable of no such communication with animals, though it would be neat if she did. With a wistful sigh, the Underling stroked the cat in her lap. "I wish the others were here." She murmured, her pale blue eyes clouding over with worry. "Or that I could at least sense they were alright..."
((If someone doesn't show up soon, I'm gonna throw a monkey-wrench in the works and set this up as a 1x1 rp. Yay, DRAMA!!!))
