Syvra had uncurled from her position by now, stretched herself out and taken up the entire corner of the room. But she was having a nightmare. Her muscles spazzed and she jerked around, trying to get away from imaginary enemies.

There were screams everywhere. The book lying in front of Syvra all of a sudden had dots of blood scattered across its pages from Kaley's head being ripped off and a vampire slurping greedily where it used to be. She heard David yell and throw a chair that hit one of the vampires, but as she turned to look at him, he was taken from behind and he went down in a pile of stinky black leather crusted and stained from old blood. Somehow they hadn't noticed her yet. She was sitting in the back of the room, so she quickly glanced around before she slipped into a closet full of supplies. She sat there in the bottom of the closet, her hands covering her ears and her eyes squeezed shut, but she couldn't block out the sounds, and with every scream and slurp, she could see what was happening in her mind's eye. Eventually, all the sounds stopped. She slowly opened her eyes a bit, but on her legs she saw a bar of light. She hadn't closed the closet all the way! As her eyes widened, her breathing and pulse quickened, a shadow fell across the crack. Slowly, she turned her head to gaze horrified at a man staring at her with blue, bloodshot eyes.

Everything went black after that, and Syvra fell still in her corner, clutching at the scar that covered the majority of her throat.

Alaric woke suddenly. He didn't think he'd been asleep for long, but he could feel the restlessness in his body. Oh well, he didn't really need much sleep anyway. A long nap later in the day would do just fine. Right now he needed to move. He sprang up from the bed and picked up his sword. Training would be perfect. Maybe if he wore himself out he'd be able to sleep again. There was nothing else to do during the day.

He exited the room and walked through the main living area to one of the unused storage spaces. Shutting the door behind him left only the crack underneath for lighting. Here he could practice. He unsheathed his sword and carefully set the scabbard on the floor. Then he brought the sword up, holding it with both hands and touching it to his forehead. His breathing became deeper and more regular. Then he disappeared. Air rushed into the vacuum and the little light moving through the space was bent, causing a sort of shuddering effect. He instantly reappeared across the room and slashed. The sword moved cleanly through the air, barely visible in the dark room. A couple more strokes and he shadow walked again, repeating the process. It never took him long to wear himself out shadow walking so much, but at the same time he could always keep it up a little bit longer than last time.

Logan was arguing with Alice, still, so Jess pinched him and gave him the "Shut-up-and-be-a-man" look. Then he said, "Let's go...people are staring to get nosey." So Jess walked out of the shop and waited for them to follow. She looked down the street and found Jasper looking around at some of the sales and she signaled to him. She told him with her eyes "We found her.."

(sorry not much I can do at the moment.)

Alice walked by Clark, the store manager's son. He had been a crush of hers a while back, but that was before Luke died, when her life was a little less hectic. He gave her a concerned look, but Alice just gave him a friendly smile, hoping he would buy it and not pursue any curiosities.
From there Alice lead Logan and his friend to her apartment, she noticed another guy and girl join them shortly after they headed down the street.
It didn't take long at their pace to reach Alice's apartment. She took out her keys and walked inside.
"Logan!" She called. Logan looked at her like she had lost her mind.
"I'm right here..."
"Not you jackass, my cat. His name is Logan. Luke named him."

Jess followed Alice, along with the others, to her apartment so that they could get her cat. She understood, she used to have animals that she was rather attached to, but that ended when she had to hit the street years back. Once they arrived, Alice called, "Logan!" All of them stood there bewildered, Logan was standing right there, with everyone else. So, he said, "I'm right here." Not understanding what she was talking about and Alice lashed back, " Not you jackass, my cat. His name is Logan. Luke named him." Jess laughed, it had been years since she had heard anyone speak so harshly to anybody. It was obvious that she had been angry at him for a long time, though Jess didn't know why, not yet at least. She wanted to talk to Jasper, after all...he didn't think that they would find her like she said they would.

She walked over to him and whispered, "Still think that I'm wrong about this?...You should know not to doubt me, Jasper." She smiled and shook her head, she wasn't so sure that she was right either. But she knew that most likely everything would turn out as she had saw it in her dream. So far, it was...although, everything wasn't in the clear yet.. they needed to get somewhere safe, whether it was their house or somewhere else. "Logan, we should get going. We aren't in the clear yet." With that she walked over to Alice and offered her hand. "My name is Jessica Hawthorn, you can call me Jess."

Klepto_Kit
Outside of the room where Alec and Sky were someone lounged against the wall gnawing on what appeared to be a piece of beef jerky for their breakfast.
The person would have been described as boyish, if it wasn't for the fact that they were female. Neasa Connor, werewolf, thief, and tomboy extrordinaire was waiting outside the door for no real reason at all. Mostly it was because she saw Sky walk in, and if Sky was talking to Alec then maybe if she was nearby when he came out then she would get to go on whatever mission or whatever he was being sent on.

Sky shrugged nonchalantly as he took a step back. His boss's words had long lost their barb but that didn't mean he couldn't do the usual nod and smile. Keep him alive? Well I ain't got a problem with that. There were so many things he could do to a person...and still keep them alive. He turned his back to Alec as he walked away, whistling a lively tune about a sailor's girl.

"A'aight boss man, if you'll only be so good as to wish us god speed or something."

Sky shut the door on his parting shot and walked right into the girl standing on the other side. "Hey there squirt, feel like a little shake 'n' bake?" There was the usual glint of mischief in his eyes as he leaned toward her conspiratorially. For all the gravity in his words, they could as well have been planning a road trip instead of a mass murder. Sky couldn't help chuckling at her ready acquiescence and he shoved his hand into his pocket, withdrawing a set of keys. "Now how about you round up your partners in crime and meet me out back? If you're good I'll let you drive."

She went off to do his bidding and he checked his watch. Prime time for the mooch to be a witness in the plane of the living. Sky decided that he might as well check on the mooch while he was out.

Neasa smirked to herself as she got into the elevator to go down and wake up the rest of the Rogues. Normally she might be a little ticked off at the "squirt" comment, but the idea of getting out and about far outweighed the name calling in her mind. She jabbed the button for the basement where the Rouge's slept and then leaned back against the wall, swallowing the rest of her breakfast and running a hand through her messy hair to smooth it.

As the elevator slowly made it's way down Neasa couldn't help but think about the fact that one day she would actually have to shed someone else's blood; it was a fact that she couldn't escape. So far it had been so easy just to let that duty fall to someone else, so easy to keep them from knowing she wasn't a murderer. Even though she worked with them, it didn't mean she agreed with their tactics, but it was an inevitable part of life she simpy couldn't escape.

The doors slid open and the werewolf slunk out into the open corridor, rapping on doors as she headed to her room to change. Down here she felt it was easier to allow her thoughts to come more freely, as if being upstairs somehow hindered them or she was afraid Alec could somehow hear the inside of her mind. The only reason she was here was because she was the stealthy, sneaky, thief; if it wasn't for the fact she knew locks and alarm systems better than she knew her own name, she might have been gotten rid of eons ago... well, that and the fact that she desperately wanted to stay a werewolf.

Luke was rolling in his grave somewhere, Logan knew it. “That b*****d,” he hissed, giving a venomous look to the cat.
“Name it something else.”
Alice looked at him like he was crazy. “What? No! You name yourself something else!”
“NO!”
“YES!”
Now, this wasn’t the most intelligent conversation Logan had ever had, but there was no way he was backing down.
“I’m going to strangle that cat if you don’t-”
“CHILDREN!”
Everyone got quiet and turned to look at whoever had screamed. Jasper leaned against a chair and smiled. “Jess has a point. We need to get out of here.” Logan the kitten chose that moment to come out from under Jasper’s chair. He bent down and scooped it up into his arms. The little ball of hair gave a mew in protest but Jasper gave it a little scratch under the chin. Logan closed his eyes and started to purr. Jasper got a smug look. “I rub Logan the right way.”
Logan clenched his fists. “We are leaving. Now.” He turned to march toward the doorway, but Alice coughed behind him.
“I need clothes. Unless you’d like me to go naked.”
Jasper started to raise his hand but Jess smacked it down.
Logan pivoted around, his face looking red and his eye twitching slightly.
“You look constipated,” Jasper mumbled, still stroking the kitten.
Without saying a word Logan stormed into the bedroom. He returned a few seconds later with an armful of clothes. He dumped them at Alice’s feet and grabbed the door, throwing it open. “Now may we leave?”
“Well I still need-“
“Go or I am carrying you.”
Alice looked like she wanted to kill Logan but she bit her lip and bent down to retrieve her fallen clothes. As she passed by Logan she stuck up her nose and pretended not to see him.

Jasper followed everyone out the door. He fell in step with Jess, letting Logan and Alice storm ahead in their silent battle of poisonous looks- and a few smacks from Alice.
“Well I definitely didn’t see this coming.”
Jess smirked. “I did.”
Jasper threw up his hands. “Okay okay, fine! You win. Your vision voodoo-witchcraft thing was right. You are the all-seeing, all-powerful Jessica Hawthorn. Happy?”
The sun overhead was starting to make Jasper feel like he was in an oven. He reached up with the hand that wasn’t cradling the kitten and pulled his hood over his face. Absentmindedly he did the same for Jess. “Wouldn’t want the Psychic Queen to get toasty,” he mumbled.

Rosen followed behind the group silently. So this tiny insignificant girl was the Cure? Well, at least she wasn’t easy to pick out in a crowd. Rose tucked her hands into her pockets and sped up, closing the gap a little. Now she could hear Logan and Alice arguing, those it wasn’t apparent what the topic was. Her eyebrows pulled together in concentration. Logan had kept all of the Cursed in the dark about the Cure. He had known her all along. It would be interesting to see everyone else’s reaction.

The sound of someone knocking on his bedroom door snapped Ronin instantly out of his slumber. "Come in." He called out, but when no one did he frowned slightly at the ceiling and sat up, staring at the door blankly. Who would knock and then just walk away? It didn't take him long to figure it out, he could tell by the slight scent drifting under the crack of the door that it was Neasa. No one else could smell that appealing and yet revolting at the same time. ((No offense, Kit.))

Slowly the vampire stood and pulled on fresh clothes, though he hadn't been sleeping that long. If he was needed he was needed, and that was all he needed to know. When he finally opened the door he caught the tail end of Neasa disappearing into her room, and that left him alone in the hallway wondering what he'd been awoken for.

As they walked, Jasper pulled the hood over Jessica's head so that it wouldn't harm her. She looked down, feeling hurt by what he had said. She really hadn't meant to sound like such a smart a**...quite frankly she was just feeling proud of herself for being right about one of the most important things to them right now. "Jasper," she cut off but then decided she should continue, "I'm really sorry...I really didn't mean to sound the way I did.." She shoved her hands in the pockets of her coat and stared down at the ground as they walked. She had acted like she did when she was a dumb little human girl. She looked up slightly, and saw that Alice and Logan were still arguing like a married couple. She continued to walk, despite how she was feeling and tried to think about something else, at least for a moment. She thought about how things were when she first got into the group.

::Flashback::
"Jess..I would like you to join us in our cause to find the cure." Logan said to her, being quite serious and sympathetic at the same time. "I understand that you're hurt for what happened to you in the past. But, I believe that you can use that for good." She listened closely, she was still young, she had been alone for years upon years, not being able to trust anybody. She had gotten used to that..but for some reason she found herself believing Logan...maybe she could help them. "Alright. I'll join.." He brought her back to a warehouse, which was her new home. "So this is it?" He nodded his head and she walked in. She saw another man there..she came to learn that his name was Jasper. "So I'm the only girl with you guys so far, eh? Well... I told you my story...time for you to tell me yours."
::End Flashback::

Then she was shot back into reality when the cat meowed quietly.

Hearing the knock at her door Ebony turned in her red leather chair, and putting down yesterdays newspaper she smirked. Ebony rose stiffly to her feet and stalked across her room to a small wooden wardrobe. Opening the doors Ebony opened the first of the drawers and fished out a large black velvet bag; twisting her hips Ebony threw the bag onto her single bed. The bag landed with a metallic refrain and it bounced lightly on the white feather down quilt, coming to a stop after making a few creases on its passage.

Turning back to her quarry Ebony leaned down and fished out a pair of small black high heels, and slipping them on she turned to the full-length mirror opposite her. Smiling at her appearance Ebony straightened the collar of her stiff red business shirt and tucked a few wayward strands of hair behind the shell of her ear. She then lifted her wrist and pulled back her sleeve checking the small hidden mechanism fastened to her right wrist. Pressing the release button gently a small click resonated in the dimly lit room and a glinting silver line began to pour out. When the small ball of weight hit the carpet of the floor Ebony quickly flicked the wire back into the mechanism and locked it once again. Well oiled and greased, as was to be expected.

Silver eyes roamed the room until she once again saw the velveteen bag resting on the small bed, crossing the room Ebony slipped the gauntlet laden pouch into the pocket of her tailored jacket and straightened out the few creases in her quilt. Turning to the door and grasping the handle she gave her bedroom a quick glance to make sure all was in order, and apparently satisfied she opened the door brusquely and stepped into the corridor.

Inclining her head slightly Ebony could hear the rustlings and grunts coming from the other Rogue’s rooms, in an effort Ebony thought, to get ready. Crossing her arms and wiping the pleased grin off her fragile features Ebony waited in anticipation for the other Rogue’s to emerge and for them to give her insight as to what the summons was about.

Jasper crossed his arms, still cradling the kitten, and set his eyes dead ahead. Jess deserved what he said to her. She deserved to…
“I’m sorry Jess,” Jasper said with a sigh. “I was just being an a*****e.” He looked down at the smaller vampire and smiled. “You did well darlin’. I don’t know where you got that fancy power of yours, but it did us more good then I have in all my years.”
Jasper cleared his throat. “But don’t let it get to your head. Cockiness can get you killed.”
He raised an eyebrow. “What are you thinking about? You got that drugged-up, distant look in you’re eye.”

Logan couldn’t have been happier when he spotted the rooftop of the warehouse. He waved a hand in front of Alice’s face to silence her, but she ignored him and kept on babbling. He trudged forward and eagerly threw open the door when he reached it. “Welcome home,” he said sarcastically, almost closing the door on Jasper, who quickly caught it and held it open for the girls to come in.
Logan took a deep breath and attempted to calm his nerves. He was leader around here; he needed to have a clear head at all times, it was expected of him. He eyed the food, wishing it were lunch time so he could whip something up. He sighed wearily.
“Jasper, put these away please.” Logan lifted his shirt and removed the twin blades, passing them over to Jasper as the vampire removed his own weapons.
Alice’s mouth dropped open.
“What are you, the mob or something?” She yelped. “I knew something crazy had been going on, but are all the guns and knives necessary?”
“Actually, we packed lightly on this excursion.” Jasper muttered as he stuck his head into the cabinet.
“Lightly?!” Alice whirled on Logan, shoving a pocket knife into his throat. The point pricked his skin, drawing a single drop of too-dark blood. “Who are you Logan? Why did Luke and my parents die? Why am I here? I have waited patiently, but now I wants answers.”
Rosen, Jess, and Jasper all stepped forward, but Logan held up a hand and they all calmed a little.
“If you were anyone else,” Logan said calmly, “You’d be dead right now.”
He reached up and gently pushed the blade down. Alice let him, slowly bringing it back to her side held at the ready just in case.
“Please, lets sit.”
Logan moved over to the table, pulling out on of the three chairs for himself. Alice reluctantly took the one closest to him and Rosen filled the last at the opposite end.
“Your parents died protecting you,” Logan said, his tone much softer then before. He folded his hands on the cluttered table. Crimson hair fell in his face, but the shadows could not keep his amber eyes from glowing slightly. “As did Luke. And that is why I left, to protect you.”
Alice sat the knife on the table, forgetting it at the moment, and leaned forward eagerly. Her eyebrows were pulled together in concentration and then anger as Logan mentioned leaving.
“Protecting me? Logan, what the hell are you talking about? Protecting me from what?”
Logan sighed. “So Luke never even mentioned what he was? What I am?”
“No,” She said, shaking her head. “It is the mob, isn’t it?”
“Logan chuckled darkly. “No, not the mob. Though most of them are very much like ourselves.”
“No,” he continued. “We are protecting you from the Diseased. The Demon Children of the Rouges.”
Alice stood up, knocking some plates from the table as she fumbled for her knife again.
“You are sick Logan!” She looked around desperately at the solemn faces of the others, waiting for one of them to laugh and tell her the truth. “You are all sick!”
“Not sick,” Logan said quietly as he too stood up, gently pushing his chair back into its place beneath the table. The liquid gold of his eyes was burning hot as he took a few steps away from the group.
Alice’s eyes grew big and then she turned away when she saw him start to take off his clothes. “Logan, what the hell?!” Still holding the knife securely in front of herself, Alice whirled around and tried to find an exit. There, the door was only a short sprint away. She could make it…
A scream tore through the room. It was filled with the most excruciating pain. Alice leapt to the side, just barely catching a glimpse of a figure writhing on the floor, its muscles bulging within the confines of its skin. But when Alice blinked there was only a huge red wolf in front of her, standing in the pile of clothes where Logan had been standing only a second before. Past the gleaming fangs and bristled crimson fur were liquid gold eyes. The great best shook itself and took a careful step toward Alice, and then another, until he was at arms reached. The eyes were locked on hers, large and challenging as they sized her up.

Alice's mind was a jumble of nonsense.
This isn't real...I'm dreaming. I have to be. Wake up Alice! Logan is NOT here and he definitely is NOT a werewolf.
But her attempts at denial were in vain. In her heart she knew the truth, and maybe she even knew it all along, deep down. But now wasn't the time to ponder that. She had to get out, run far away. Yes she had missed Logan terribly and wanted to be with him, but her instinct to get the hell out of there was stronger at the moment.
Alice's eyes darted around the room, searching for a better escape. She knew she wouldn't be able to out run the wolf to the door. Alice backed up and felt wood behind her. She felt it wobble against her. It could be a boarded window, she remembered seeing the windows had been boarded when she arrived.
It's worth a shot. One shot. She thought to herself.
Alice took to steps forward, to give her self some room. The wolf proceeded back 2 steps, his liquid gold eyes boring into her.
Alice remembered she still had her small blade.
Yeah like that is going to stop a werewolf. Wait a sec....it's silver. Luke you son of a gun you gave me a silver blade. Alice almost laughed, almost.
Suddenly she kicked hard backward, sending wood flying in every direction. Leaving the window open and unprotected.
With out missing a beat she turned and jumped through the window. Cringing as little shards of glass sliced her arms and legs.
The second her feet hit the ground she took off. Running like a mad woman.
She realized her surroundings at once, they were in a back lot of old Brooklyn. Tons of abandoned warehouses lined either side of the streets. To one side Alice could see the river. Bingo.
She averted her track and headed towards the nearest warehouse.
Alice had no doubt that they where right behind her, but she took into thought that they probably are keeping an eye out for any nosy on lookers. Unfortunately for her, this part of town didn't have many residents.
Alice tried the door to the warehouse but it was padlocked.
"s**t..." She muttered.
Down the alley way she could see the river. It would be risky, and not to mention gross...but she was sure she could pull through. Anything to get away.
"I guess I am going swimming."
She sprinted down to the edge of the concrete and climbed to the top of the rail, and hesitated. That would cost her.
"Alice...." She heard. The voice was low, threatening...and right behind her.
"Any closer and I jump." She said, internally kicking her self for sounding so cliche.
I sound like a suicide jumper.
"Oh right, because we can't swim. You jump, we jump in after you. Now would you please just come back with us?" His tone was so sarcastic that Alice didn't even have to second guess the speaker. It was the one called Jasper. And boy did he sound miffed.
"Why are you doing this? Why couldn't you people just leave me alone?" Alice glanced up at the sky, the once bright blue had been painted grey by the evening storms.
And then...it started to rain.
Perfect.
"Okay thats it. If you don't get that tiny a** over here in two seconds I will knock you unconscious and carry you back."
Alice looked over the edge. She was going to jump.
"One..."
She took a deep breath and slightly leaned over the edge.
"Two.."
There was a thud, it took a second for Alice to register.
Damn he is fast...

Darkness.

Safely in her room Neasa quickly brushed the bed head look out of her hair, brushing the short dark brown mess flat. She was in a bit of a hurry, after all, she had been promised that she could drive if she was good, and that was a rare option for her. In her hurry she jumped onto her bed, jerking the drawstring pants off in one pull, and then let herself flip over the top of bed to the other side. She grabbed a pair of oversized black pants with straps hanging off of them everywhere and jerked them on, pulling the belt already in them tight so they'd stay up.

She grabbed a shirt out of the closet without really looking and pulled off the one she was wearing, jerking the long sleeved shirt she'd grabbed on. It was tighter than she'd normally wear, but it was made from a stretchy material that she liked; still, it clung in places and made it more obvious she was female, so Neasa grabbed a jacket as well. On her way out her bed room door she shoved her feet into a pair of boots, not bothering to untie them to slip them on, and then she wandered out into the hallway with the jacket under her arm.

There were already two others out in the hallway, Ebony and Ronin, and she couldn't help but crack a smirk at them. "We're s'posed ta meet Sky out back, as soon as a few others show up, I guess." She explained, yawning and stretching, twisting to crack her back before she put the jacket on. Once that was done she stupidly ran a hand through her hair, messing it right back up again.

Lila walked silently around the more quite parts of the city. This was where she would always lose the red headed lycan and the spot where she would sit down and draw random pictures in her sketch book. Her katana hung snuggly against her waist ready to be used at a moments notice and her sketch book and supplies in a toting bag hanged nicely on her back. She was in her usual outfit with her hair tied up. She was in a good mood today for she actually slept the whole night without interruptions. Than suddenly, she hears a female voice threatening to jump.

'A suicide?' When she heard a male voice talking about coming back with him and such, she dashed towards the scene. A male had just knocked out the female on the edge of a river.

'Oh crap, he looks like a Vampire... A cute one too.... Oh what the lord am I thinking, she needs help.' She dashes off behind the male when he had just lift the female in his arms.

"Why don't cha suck on some of this you b*****d vampire!" She unsheathes her katana and made a gash on her arm and swung the spilling blood onto his face, hoping that it would hit the target in the eyes. And it did. He double back and loosen his grip for just that moment, Lila took the chance and snack the female away. But the vampire tried snatching her back but snagged Lila's bag instead. Lila made her way back to her apartment without looking back. Mentally she cursed herself with sticking her nose into things she usually wouldn't and argued how she lost her things for something so juvenile.

She turned the knob to her home and laid the female onto her bed, err couch.

'Dam it, he might get his lackey and follow the scent of my blood. Better start cleaning up the place.' Lila had a slight feeling she had forgotten something very important. Like she had seen that vampire with someone else before, but she had no time to worry about that feeling and got to work on ridding the smell of her blood.
