Of course, Vincent always had to be right when it came down to things going bad. He had thought about it just as he had passed out, and when he was woken by movement on his arm, he definitely did not expect what was coming. No sooner had he turned his head and opened his eyes, the heavy, still tired feeling hanging on him, something hit him rather hard in the jaw. It was not enough to break his jaw, nor was it enough to seriously damage him, but god damn, did it hurt. Of course, in his reaction, his head slammed back down towards his left hand, yet, he instinctively reached to protect Arian with his right arm. And that's when he realized that she had moved.

"Who the ********? Arian, run.. don't let them--" And then Vincent froze as realization struck him. He'd figured that he had underestimated the people in this tournament and that they had come to do he or Arian harm, so, as he threw himself to his feet and his head snapped around to find their assailant, he came face to face with a very animalistic form of Arian. She looked wild, as if she were a beast of some sort; as if she were some kind of trapped and cornered animal. She looked nothing like the beautiful, cute, innocent woman that had cuddled with Vince simply for the hell of doing so. That's when he remembered ********. She'd been drugged, and while she had realized it at the time, or so Vincent thought, she did not remember as she woke up. That was when he also seemed to recall one important thing. She enjoyed being alone, and so, when men or anyone for that matter came near her, she was rather angry. Vincent struggled with his mind to come up with an explanation, so he began quietly, his voice strong and determined to buy his way out of this. "Abigail slipped something into your drink last night, Arian.. I was drunk, slightly, and you wanted to swim.. so.." Vincent stopped and looked at her, his eyes concentrating on her's, letting her see the truth and sincerity in his sandy eyes. "I brought you here, and then, we fell asleep.. That was all, really. Nothing happened, I can assure you that. I just watched over you while you slept, and then, fell asleep myself."

And so, Vincent was telling Arian the cold, hard truth. Though, he was sure that she would definitely not listen to reason in this form, yet, despite the stinging pain in his jaw, and slightly sure that she would feel a bit of pain in her knuckles from a direct hit to Vince's strong jaw, he refused to run. He stood still and slipped his hands into his pockets, watching Arian as a slight gust of wind blew a little bit of Vince's hair into his eyes. Now it was going to be up to Arian what happened now.

"Against the law?"

Arian shot to her feet, sand slipping though the fingers of her right fist, Arian bringing that hand up, ready to throw that sand right the ******** into his eyes-and you could almost see it happening, her knees bending, shifting foreard onto her left, a wound spring ready to fly-when he starts to speak, and lucky for him-he spoke without panic.

Meaning-Arian didn't have to work hard to translate. Abi.

Her homicidal rage diverted on the two targets. Vince first, then her captain-and then anybody else she felt like venting on, or whatever, until someone offed her or she got the ******** off the island, if it came to that.

'I was drunk-'

And then any distraction was gone, her expression darkening where it had, previously, been impassive while her eyes blazed-and when she again lifted the fist of sand in a smooth movement-he met her eyes.

Arian's bored back into his, temper and fire daring him to lie to her. She didn't move to strike him. A liar didn't make eye contact-even the good ones, they always looked away.

Because she would know, and they knew it. 'Nothing happened.' She still had her pants on, he still had his on, and nothing hurt, and she was nearly positive something would have, if he had taken advantage of her, if she had...Abi. God DAMN that woman.

Arian still wanted to kick his a**. Badly.

Silence, the woman watching him intently, calculating-and then, finally, she opened her right hand, and let the sand trail to back into the beach, face becoming impassive once more, eyes no longer narrowed, full lips no longer tight. Her eyes though-they were wary.

Things were trickling into place, but everything seemed cloudy and dreamlike. She didn't like that. The only other laspe in ehr excellent, insane memory was the tail end of the battle with Chance-where the man had beat her into senselessness, reshattering her jaw. She had been told later, that Chance had been hurt so bad he couldn't stand after, had to be dragged off the field just as her sorry a** had-so she had that much. Same with Duc, who had originally shattered her jaw with a gunstock-he'd needed new genitals. Literally-Arian had kindly castrated him with a dagger through the groin.

It said something about her-she may not always emerge victorious-but the lady could deal a lot of damage before she succumbed to whatever injuries she sustained during it.

Her hand hurt. Vince had a strong jaw.

Arian's body finally seemed to relax-much as it ever did-just as her thoughts turned from violence and murder to the two things of importance-one, her shirt. Two-the weird fact he hadn't done anything stupid.

Arian realized she had been holding his arm, not the other way around. The faintest bit of color rose to Arian's darker skin tone, but her face didn't changes. Eyes, however, had left him, moving along the beach for her shirt, crossing her arms casually over her chest-but the movement was too slow, TOO casual.

Yeah, she didn't want to be standing here half dressed. "Well." She finally uttered, all rage gone from her tone and voice. "...sorry." She finished matter of factly-and she was, somewhat, but she sure as hell wasn't going to fall on her knees and beg forgiveness, or something.

At least nothing had happened. No killing spree was needed, except to go hit Abi with something. Arian turned and moved along the beach, looking for her shirt-and her knife, where ever the ******** that had gone. She didn't like being unarmed. Made her feel vulnerable, and that was something Arian simply would not tolerate-being vulnerable.

She was confused. A...well...a MAN had done something RIGHT. Boggled the mind, and Arian pondered her own sexist attitude-but she knew she was. So. Weird.

"Good answer." She said, nearly muttered, in reference to his quick choice of words and truth.

Vince watched her closely as she dropped the sand that she had no doubt intended on whipping into Vincent's eyes, obviously, an act of offense or defense, whichever, it didn't matter. That s**t still would have stung like a b***h, and he was rather glad that he didn't get it to his face. That was when he realized that she had really backed down, and hadn't wanted to kill him, as she had simply seconds before. Vincent knew that she would believe him if he were to look her in the eyes, and in the second place, Vincent had nothing to hide.

Though one or two stray sexual desires had crossed Vincent's mind during last night while Arian had clung to him before he'd fallen asleep himself, he knew that he would not take advantage of her. Simply because one, she was drugged, and that just wouldn't have any fun in it. Reason number two being; Vincent had respect of women, and he had strong morals, despite really being a monster in his true form. I guess that was just what came of originally being a human whose blood was replaced with draconic blood. Just tended to mess with your psyche, he supposed.

With that, Vincent's gaze scanned the beach, and after a second, he began to walk slowly towards what he'd been looking for. After a second, he returned with Arian's knife, holding the blade carefully in his hand, his fingers carefully closed around the sharp edges. With a soft smile, he handed the knife to Arian when he returned to her, figuring she was still looking for her shirt, which Vincent mumbled to himself and provided with a small wave of his hand. He held the knife out towards her and sat the shirt gently on her shoulder with his other hand.

"No, no, Arian.. It's my fault, really. I knew you weren't okay, yet, I brought you with me anyway.. I apologize.." And again, Vincent's eyes were to be level with Arian's, sincerity and truth once more flashing and staying in Vincent's eyes. His smile remained, though, he was sure that Arian would hit him again, and he didn't really care. Perhaps he deserved it, because even though he had managed to not take advantage of her, he'd still brought her to lay with him in a somewhat romantic way when she normally wouldn't have. For that, he was truly sorry, and honestly, he hoped that she would get over it.

Perhaps it was just a hope, yet, deep down inside, Vincent known he had won a small battle in this war with Arian's personality. Eventually, Vincent knew that he would win the war.

"Against the law?"

The dagger was sleek and surprisingly heavy, for a weapon of it's type. It was not center balanced, and it was intentional-the handle had more weight than the blade, the top portion flat and dimpled for, no doubt, ramming into someone as a blunt weapon.

It was also wickedly sharp, but sleek rather than jagged-so it wouldn't get stuck in someone, if she indeed found herself needing to sink a knife into some a*****e's chest. It could be retrieved easily. The blade itself was not shiny-but blackened, reflecting no light-clearly meant for stealth. Arian comes after you in the night or in dim light, you won't get the warning of a flash of steel.

By the time he had procured the weapon, Arian had found her cloth boots-and could be found pulling each on, ankle height cloth flat and containing no heel-you'd never hear her coming either.

She glanced up as he neared, eyes flickering over the knife out of habit-weapon after all-but it was clearly a non threat, and her mind registered it as such. Fingers of her left hand deftly wrapped around the handle of the knife, and she retrieved it without so much as nicking his hand or fingers. Arian didn't look at it, but watched him as her hand spun the knife with a flick of her thumb, and then she sheathed it back in place at the small of her back, the cloth sheath making not so much as a whisper. Next was the shirt.

But he was talking. He knew she wasn't okay?

Same left hand curled into a fist and was striking him before you could say applesauce, the lady more than speedy. Right the ******** below his right eye, a strong, solid punch for a woman to land, IF it landed-and just as quickly she stepped back and to her left, notably safely out of the way from any retaliation he could make without first stepping after her.

Damn she was quick, and moved with an ease that was just-well, not really expected of humans. Arian would watch him a moment, then pull the shirt over her head, and back into place, toned stomach covered once more, the knife not at all noticeable, as if she didn't have one. Brand was half covered on her right shoulder.

Longish bangs were swept to the side with a huff of a breath directed at them, and she spoke. "Alright then." This time, she said her words with an air of something having been resolved. Indeed-she did not appreciate waking up here. And now he knew it, and she wasn't pissed, really, because he hadn't done or tried anything...bad. She extended her right hand as she spoke, seemingly to shake on this matter.

So, this is where a fine line was drawn between he and other men. After she had taken the dagger from his hand carefully without injuring him anymore than she had already with the uppercut to the jaw, he watched her closely once more. Of course, she was still beautiful, and he thought that even when she had looked wild, her eyes filled with rage. In-fact, that had only proved to make her even more so, and while it lasted, Vincent got a kick out of it. Most men, of course, would have likely lashed out at the woman and fought back, and Vincent was more than sure that if he wished, he could leave Arian broken and bloodied on the beach; but he wouldn't.

He wouldn't simply because of the fact that he was becoming more and more attracted to her every moment, and because that was not how he behaved. Never once had he badly beaten and broken a girl, except for once, and she could hardly be considered a woman. Even then, Vincent had only used a small force as she tried to kill him. So, when he watched Arian, and even as he quickly registered that she was going to hit him again, he stood still and took the shot to the face without so much as a flinch or a step backwards. Most men, again, would have lashed out at the woman as quickly as possible, but Vince simply smiled at her and shook his head.

After a moment, Vincent looked down at her hand and grinned, simply taking it in his own, and squeezing it tightly. He shook it and then he withdrew it, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand, chuckling to himself.

"So, what do you want to do now? Want to drown me, or hit me again? Sounds exciting." God, Vince really was a sucker for the crazy women, and then again, to sit here and deal with it, he was just as crazy.

"Against the law?"

He didn't whine about the hit, and earned himself some points on THAT note. To Arian-you didn't apologize unless you meant it, were willing to take a consequence. Now that she at least punched him, she no longer felt angry or otherwise.

It was done. Any negative aspect of it, anyway.

He shook her hand-but would find she wouldn't let go of it. She was not holding him in a vice grip, or anything, just stopped him from drawing back easily. "No. I merely wish to tell you I will be no man's conquest." She responded to his last sentence, dead serious. She was, apparently, telling him flat out he wasn't going to get 'lucky' with her. Her accented tone and eyes carried weight to them, and she watched him, releasing his hand to return her own to her side.

He was crazy. Flat out crazy.

"There's a tournament to fight, Vince. Wishes to be won." Her eyes left his, flickering over her left hand, splaying out her fingers and then closing the hand again after a wave of them.

Ow. But her face gave no expression of discomfort or pain, and frankly-neither did her eyes, because pain was something Arian could handle in folds. Just determination. "I'm a warrior, nevermind I'm a woman. I'm your enemy." She continued, eyes remeeting his, even though she had to look up-she seemed taller, somehow. Not than him-just taller than she was.

"And I don't like flowers." Not cut ones-to Arian, it didn't make sense. You gave someone something you had, effectively, killed. Mainlanders were weird. The last statement wasn't quite as serious as the previous ones-and...though her face remained impassive, one might have sworn they saw her lips twitch as if to curve. Her eyes, though-they were amused. And then she looked away again.

"So. There you are." And that, in Arian's mind, was that.

Vincent watched every movement she made, and took in every word she said with interest. He studied her face, studied her tone, and when her words seemed to carry a sense of gravity to them, Vincent's grin subsided into a hard line. He was honestly confused about the woman, because as she had seemed to be lightening up a little bit, she got hard again, and yet, Vincent still refused to let go the fact that she would eventually be his. Yet, she had said she would never be, he did not believe her, because he could tell that he was winning some kind of battle with every ounce of pain that he felt.

"I don't wish to get lucky, with you, Arian. I want to win your heart the old fashioned way, and I believe.." Vincent chuckled and his grin reappeared on his face with that. He was being smug, and he was being arrogant, because frankly, that's exactly how Vince really was. He was arrogant, and he was that way for more than good reason. He usually had the talent, or the strength, or something else to back up his words, so he threw his words like there was no end to them. Then, Vincent gave Arian a wink and finished his sentence. "That in my actions of the last night, I've already proven to you that I'm a bit.. different, from the man that you are used to."

And then, she told him that there was a tournament, and that serious matters were to be had. Of course, Vincent knew that this whole thing was rather serious, but really, it was all a ploy. It was all for fun and leisure, and perhaps, the one wish that Vincent wished to take. He shook his head at that comment and simply allowed her to think that Vince was all into taking this serious; though of course, when it came to fighting, Vincent would definitely be taking every single moment as serious as possible. Again, Arian reminded Vince that she was his enemy, to which he shrugged and gave her a soft smile.

He did not care that she was his enemy, because in his eyes, some of your closest enemies could easily become your closest friends, and in the same way, vice-versa. "I know, Arian. I know. You are very much a warrior, as am I; yet, it's not so bad to open yourself up sometimes." And while Vince had jested before, laughing and whole-heartedly joking with Arian, his words were serious this time. He knew all too well what it was to keep pleasure out of your life, seeing as how it had driven him almost to insanity at one point. Seclusion was definitely not good, but anyway, Vincent sighed and turned his head slightly to the side, looking at the sand for a second, before his eyes looked back into Arian's.

"Next time, I'll just get you a kitten." With that, Vince's eyes lit back up like fireworks, and his face, grave only moments before, turned upside down as he began laughing.

Perhaps, he really was crazy.

"Against the law?"

Lennox." She gestured to her right shoulder, where he had no doubt seen the brand earlier when all of it was exposed, as opposed to now when only half was. "I don't have one.." No heart? That is what she was most certainly claiming. That is what most people believed-and should believe. "Different as in crazy, yes-and while I very much find you wise to have NOT touched me-I assure you, it's your own a** you were saving, not mine."

Though...he had a point. And it was her too-Arian didn't...do...such things.

"And it-you-I-dammit, I don't need to be told what is good or bad for me, thank you very much-I've managed thirteen years just ******** fine in this kind of life, and I don't need to be told about the nice finicky little 'feel good' things that I'm supposedly missing out on." Words were fast and accented more than typical because of it, more musical, exotic, unique. She was a very pretty woman-even more so when speaking with a passion about something.

"You don't know me. You don't know the first God damned thing, not really, just what you think you've gleaned. If it's my face you like, my skin color, my shape or dark hair, then I assure you, beauty fades and it will fade, just as quickly as anything unearned does. If it's the rarity in the way I speak, look, or the perk that I am different from Mainlanders-know that I am not unique where I am from for any of these things. I have no heart to be earned. I have no desire for things unnecessary. I am not here to form ill fated relationships, sir-I'm here to carry out an agreement and be done with it, back to the life I very much am determined to finish, which can end only in early death. I am twenty one-do not bullshit someone who knows better, and dammit-don't pretend you know who I am."

Frustrated. He really-he was nuts.

"For Christ's sake-I sent your flowers on to another man, bearing your name-I've done everything short of attempting to KILL you-it'll come down to a fight, you and I, and you're too big and freaking strong to make me think well of it, even if I HAVE my toys." She kicked a little heap of sand violently, not towards him, no, it didn't rise far-just to kick something.

"And if you send me a damned cat, I'll kill it." She said this venomnously-but her eyes gave her away. She would do no such thing. No-Arian liked animals, and a blameless kitten-even hardened criminals had their weak points.

Even ones like Arian, doing her damndest to make this man lose interest, and FAST. She didn't care how much of a b***h it made her look like-she had been considered one unfairly and had given up on the assumption, pretending to be one so long she hardly knew what was really her, Arian-and what was the bad a** she had to be to keep her Courtelli a** alive.

Oi. She needs to train or do something else physical like running to get rid of this angry energy. Or maybe just go to the bar and get some watermelon.

Such an innocent happiness at the thought, anyone who had been in her head would have been startled. Arian was a paradox. Fierce and fiery, she would go toe to toe with anything, regardless of size or match-and yet, she WAS innocent, in a lot of ways.

She was something else, that was for sure.

She was certainly playing hard to get, but it was fine, Vince would simply play along with what Arian wanted until eventually she gave in, as he knew that she most likely would. Besides, Vincent had lived 2500 years and a bit more already, and over that time, he'd learned to ignore small trivial things, so not a whole lot annoyed him anymore; which was what he figured Arian was trying to do. She was simply trying to chase him off by agitating the ******** out of him, and if he were any other guy, she most likely would have succeeded already, however, Vincent knew that patience was a virtue, and it was one that he regarded very highly. So, when she tried giving the 'I'm a heartless b***h' bit, basically, Vincent simply shook his head.

She claimed that he was crazy, and perhaps, it really was a true statement, yet, she had no idea. Vincent was not infact crazy, he was just a bit different, simply based on the fact that Arian was still young, and as was stated, innocent. Arian had not yet discovered the finer things in life, nor had she yet discovered love for anything, let alone another person. Vincent knew her type very well, because he had fallen for girls just the same, as with the case of one of his most recent lovers, Amie. They had lasted for years, until at last, she succumbed to a fatal illness and died, broken and pale in Vince's arms. Since then, he'd strayed away from pursuing women, but it was about that time; after-all, it had been many years. Ten, twelve? Vincent had no clue.

He chuckled and after that, he simply shrugged and looked at her with a grin on his face. The whole time he looked at her, he took in her words, her speech on why she figured that Vincent was attracted to her, yet, little did she know that Vincent was infact not interested in any of what she described. Well, not as a singular statement, anyway. What he was interested in was Arian in a whole, and he really did not mind telling her that, despite what might happen to him; after all, a stab or punch only hurt for a while. "No, no, Arian. I'm simply interested in you as a whole. Sure, all of the things you listed contribute, but you're more beautiful than you know. You radiate that beauty in the words you speak, the way you act; not by your accent, nor by your skin or hair. You are you, and that is why I find you beautiful in the extreme."

So there was a truth, which Vincent showed by looking her in the eyes, though, he could almost not keep a straight face as he prepared to say what he was going to next. He managed to keep his voice level and serious, however, as he said the first part, starting with: "Arian, I've lived much, much longer than you. I sure don't know who you are, but, however, I can guess how you act. I've seen it before, but it's okay. If you don't wish my advice, I won't give it." Vincent simply looked at her and let his eyes flicker to the ground as she kicked up sand which hit Vince's ankle, slightly dirtying the already dirty jeans.

His next statement was, in it's fullest, another joke. He was sure, however, that it would likely make her mad, because even though her words were about as acidic as his breath, her eyes showed softness and almost regret as she spoke of killing the kitten. He chuckled and looked back up at her, grinning once more.

"EVEN if the kitten is newly born and fluffy? You seem like the kind of girl who adores fluffy kittens."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 25, 2009 9:34 pm

"Against the law?"

Why in the ******** was he still smiling!?

"I am NOT beautiful!" She insisted, practically hissing the last word. "I'm not supposed to be pretty-" Oh, love of-damn-

Arian ran her hand through her hair, longish bangs pulled back while her fingers threaded through the silky dark stuff. "You're crazy. No-seriously. Crazy."

Won't give his advice-"Good." She uttered, seeming slightly distracted, and she was-because she had no idea what the hell she had to DO to scare this man off. Short of setting him on fire or something, she was out of ideas-for now. She'd think of something. She always thought of something.

Eyes had flickered away, looking out across the ocean, nearly absently-only to flicker back to him when he began to speak again, eyes going from alert-to slightly staring. "I-what?" Hand dropped to her side from her hair, and for a bad moment, Arian seemed to be more than ready to draw that knife and USE it.

"ESPECIALLY if it's fluffy. Shed. ...Everywhere." Again-her eyes didn't seem to agree with the statement. Shedding? Who the hell cared about shedding? Arian wasn't the sort to worry about silly things like that.

Kittens. Arian Lennox, homicidal, insane outlaw-being told she seemed like the type of girl to adore fluffy kittens. She felt weird suddenly. Like she'd just stepped into some strange world where she wasn't...well...so scary.

Maybe she had. Maybe he was nuts. Maybe SHE was nuts.

Arian swept her eyes over the beach, frowning slightly. "Well. ******** it-you want to go to the hotel and demand some watermelon?" Um...what?

Weird...transition.

"Cause if I try to kill you now, I'll lose." ...or not.

Again with Arian calling Vincent crazy, and again with Vincent shaking his head and laughing. She had no clue, honestly, no clue how sane Vincent really was. Before she'd called him crazy however, she had began to deny and deny again, the fact that she was pretty. She was losing this fight, and Vincent knew it just as well as she did. He'd backed her into a corner, and so, now she was fighting the most typical defense that she could. She was denying, and then, when she realized that had no effect, she insulted him. It was all rather comical, and it had almost made Vince want to die laughing right there on the spot, yet, he managed to contain the laughter behind an amused smile.

From there, Vincent gave her only a chuckle as he looked at her run her hand along her hair, and then, he watched in amusement as her hand reached for the knife at her back, well, it appeared that she would. His right arm moved slowly upwards to scratch at his head. For the first time, his tattoo rippled from the moving of his muscles. It was a rather strange tattoo, and possibly, Arian had messed with it when she had been out of it, curled up against Vince's right arm. Of course, he really didn't know, and even if she did, she most likely did not feel the magic of the runic symbols that was the tattoo itself. That magic that was contained in that tattoo was immense, so much more than anything that Vincent could conjure on his own.

He was simply lucky that most people passed it off as a bizarre thing, and most people didn't even think about it being magic. Vincent shrugged and listened to Arian claim that kittens shed, and then, the s**t eating grin reappeared on Vince's face. "Well, what color do you normally wear? I'll have to make sure that it's fur is almost the same color so that it doesn't show up. Wouldn't want you to miss out on your fluffy kittens." Vincent laughed and watched Arian, waiting for yet another flash of anger, yet, he had watched her eyes closely, so he knew that she was liking the idea of having a kitten. Oh, now it was just up to Vince to find a kitten, but he was quite sure that he could find one; better yet.. He'd send Mordecai to go fetch one.

Then, she asked to go get.. watermelon. Vincent stopped laughing and raised an eyebrow, and then, he shrugged and nodded, thinking that he very much liked the idea of watermelon. "Why the ******** not? We can get some watermelon, I can get a drink, and then you can stab me. Cause we all know that you'd have fun out of that."

With that, Vincent laughed again and watched Arian, waiting for her to start walking towards the bar. "Well.. we can walk.. or we can get there how we got here.." Vincent chuckled and began mumbling under his breath. If she didn't deny the idea soon, she'd be swept up into his arms once more.

"Against the law?"

"Will you quit-will you stop SMILING all the time?!" She didn't want him to be unhappy, exactly, but the sure, nearly arrogant smile was terribly unnerving.

Indeed-she had noted the tattoo. Or rather, re noted, she had sort of not mentioned it before, or asked, and right now she was NOT going to ask about it, not even to ask if he had WANTED his 'body art', as she had not wanted hers-but bah.

"I. Hate. Animals." She said with more venom, starting to feel mocked, starting to worry he really WAS going to go get a kitten, God damned crazy man-warriors did NOT own or take care of infant freaking cats-DAMMIT! "Damned...racist...cat...person." She muttered, apparently because now he wanted to be choosy about cat fur-or maybe because she's going to keep working on that angle to drive him off.

It wasn't working well. He quit laughing, at least, at the watermelon-good. He thought that was weird? Excellent. She was weird. She was foreign and she didn't care who thought her odd. She started off, even as he was speaking, intentionally being rude-

"And then you can stab me."

She stopped dead in her tracks whirling on him, eyes flashing with fire now, not quite the blazing feralness that had been seen there earlier, when she thought he had tarnished her honor, but with that all consuming temper, the fire that did not belong in such pretty, deep eyes.

"You find me a joke or something? You think I won't do it? That I only threaten?" She did not shout now, but spoke in a lower tone, one laced with danger, threat coiling off Arian like smoke.

Uh oh.

She had drawn the knife, was absently, slowly twirling it in her left hand. "Is that what you think?" And at the next thing he said, her eyes narrowed dangerously, knife stilling in her hand, Arian's grip a semi fist, as she moved the knife to point at him, away from her, right before her chest. "I'll walk, thanks." Challenging him perhaps? That she'd sure as ******** stab him? Maybe.

"Hey-I MEAN it Sah-lai." That Courtelli word again, in reference to him- "I'll WALK." Talking over his mutterings.

And so, the fun was to begin. Vince disregarded her comments about the kitten; she was definitely getting one, because when Vincent got back from eating watermelon and drinking, he would get the one from Mordecai. Though, he was not entirely sure of what she meant when she had said that he was a racist, so, instead of pushing further on the topic, he continued to listen and continued mumbling. Then, she whirled on him and was talking seriously about how she would stab him, which, only made the smile on Vince's face widen even more. She would have one hell of a time, because around the time when she ended speaking, Vincent finished his spell with a final syllable which Vince said louder than the rest of the recitation.

"Alright, Arian. Here's a game for you, because I know you aren't joking. Just want to see exactly how you react." Vincent stepped forward slowly, and for a moment, it appeared that he was walking normally, and then, in a blur, Vincent's feet left the ground and he took a vertical leap over Arian before she would even be able to blink. She would have had to slice him mid-air, or make a stabbing motion, and by the time she made a swipe or lunge at the form, she would be missing, swatting at open air. Then, she would have possibly.. one second to spin all the way around and stab at him.

However, Vince doubted she would get the chance. If it worked, he would be directly behind her, his right arm gently wrapped around her arms to prevent her from stabbing, and his left arm sweeping down to pick up her legs. If that didn't work, however, Vince would be getting stabbed, and then they would be going for watermelon with a blood-stained, half-naked male. Rather, if the wound was bad enough, they would have a fully naked male. Because if it came down to it, Vince would use his pants to stop bleeding, if he needed.

His next reaction would come after he seen if he'd succeeded. Then again, it was possible that Arian had slashed him mid-air, if she had some kind of super-natural reactions or foresight. Though, he doubted both, just as he doubted that she would be able to spin and stab him right away with the sand all around her, causing her feet to slip and become buried. Wouldn't be easy, but Vince was not underestimating the woman.

After-all, he was daring the woman to stab him. It would certainly be amusing.

"Against the law?"

"I'm not a plaything." Arian hissed when he finished speaking about wanting to see exactly how she'd react. Her knife remained held in such a way he couldn't rush her or attempt a body check (not that she really thought he'd do that) and then BAM!

Blurred motion, eyes wideningly slightly but dangerously as Arian's quick mind slammed into overdrive-up?! He was going UP!?

She didn't attempt to twirl around or stab as he came, the loose footing of the sand wouldn't have allowed a quick pivot to turn and face him again, and she suddenly wondered if he was attacking her, and if so, she was in trouble, because she had one knife and one knife only, no armor, no toys, no Flute Staff.

Arian stabbed downwards, the blade of the knife passing the outside of her left leg in a whisper-and finding it's mark no doubt in Vince's thigh.

Oooh. Ouch. At that point though, she was grabbed, and all she could do further with that knife was give it the cruelest of little twists before her hand slipped free of it completely when he got his other arm behind her knees, sweeping her up-and dammit, she WANTED that knife to stab him AGAIN.

He was wise not to underestimate Arian Lennox. She was a quick thinker with an unpredictable, wild streak, and she would do things utterly unexpectedly. Like stab backwards to hit a leg rather than try to hit what she couldnt' see.

Despite the fact she was easy to pick up, couldn't be more than a hundred and twenty pounds or so-she was furious, and struggling with him immediately, possibly hard to keep a hold on, I don't know. He's a strong guy, after all. "Put me-DOWN!" She demanded, as if she was six feet tall rather than two inches over five, kicking her feet and turning her shoulders. "I said I'd walk! WALK! Give me my knife back!"

Yeeeah. Right. So she could stab him again? Indeed.

Vincent knew damned well what she would do, so, when she drove the knife into his thigh, he bent his head forward slightly so that his face was close to her and gave her a soft smile, a chuckle forming in his throat. He was a beast of burden, and so, he behaved as such; pain did not balk him, nor, did the fact that she was tearing valuable muscle. The hide-carved magic would work wonders on that later, but, he knew that she had been grabbed too quickly to actually drive the knife deep enough to where it would cause him problems. Vincent was rather lucky that he'd worked out enough to the point where his muscles were hard to tear, yet, the stab would still do a number on him for a while.

She wanted her knife back, and later, when they arrived at their destination, Vincent would gladly give it to her. Though, for whatever reason, he wanted, rather.. needed, to tease Arian. "Oh babe, that's the spot. You should have kept going, though." Vincent gave her a flash of his perfect white teeth and listened to Arian's pleas for him to put her down. He would put her down when they reached the bar, and no sooner, and even though Arian was a bit tough to hold while squirming, he managed easily enough. It was told by the fact that Vince's muscles rarely tensed that he was being careful not to harm her, even though she had tried her hardest to harm him.

Which, was rather funny. She had failed hard in that account, and, she had thought that it would most likely chase Vince away. She was wrong on that account, also. So, with a shake of his head in response to Arian's nagging about letting her down, he began to walk slowly, getting a sense of how bad she had really gotten him. Which, to his surprise, was not bad at all. Of course, she had gotten the knife stuck fast in his thigh, but she had gotten it stuck in muscle, which, due to Vince's hide-carved magic, had began to close around the blade. That would cause a bit of damage when he went to pull it out, but, it would also be fixed by the same magic.

The worst part of this whole deal though, was not for Vince. The bad part is that Arian would have to breath in Vince's strong blood. Though it carried a smell of iron, it was more than that. It was so much iron that it made you light-headed. Not only that, it was the amount of blood that had poured from the wound which made it worse. Remember, Vincent was magically in this form, and in reality, he was still a dragon through his human blood. So, when she stabbed his leg, she in-fact did stab the dragon's leg, and so instead of dealing with human blood and the amount that a human would lose, she was dealing with a full-sized dragon.

Not fun, but, Vincent hoped to make it as easy as possible, and so, with a nod, he ran off with his magically augmented speed towards the bar, the squirming Arian in his arms. However, after a moment they soon reached the bar and Vincent stepped back slightly, pulling the knife out of his leg and handing it to Arian after wiping it off on his blood-stained blue jeans. Again, he held the blade, and handed her the hilt.
