The Doorstop is now longer than any single thing I've written on my own before. It's important to keep in mind though that a friend of mine and I wrote an online serial that ran more than 2,500 pages.
OK, it was a REALLY trashy WK fanfic >_>;;;.
So, I ah... don't think I can I can top my total output anytime soon unless I write two 500-pagers in a year or something! That sounds painful.
I don't post what I write in my LJ. I post about writing and what happens to me and POINTLESS DOLL SPAM. 4laugh
Ahem. Yes, I am/was a fanficcer. I have nothing at all against fanficcage, I've just chosen to not do it any more if I can help it. Although, the Doorstop lead me to abandon a really cool one I was writing. Ah well, that particular part of the fen is pretty dead anyway. I'll just read the non-G-rated doujinshi and wish on a falling star for one to actually be in character.
Wait, what was I talking about?
Oh umm. Right. I wasn't very inspired tonight, but then I heard that there is a Tales of the Abyss anime set up to air in the fall! Which made me really happy. It's probably not going to be that great, but, hmm, you know, if I was still fanficcing, I'd be all over that. You'd need a crowbar to get me off.

I've never read fan fiction.
I can never find something I actually know. It kinda sucks but in a way I don't care as I have the real things xD
It must be hard to write it.

Honestly, it was very hard for me. I would always be very particular about canon and STILL BOTCH IT. Which just made me angsty. And I don't like AUs so...
AHAHA. Actually, I just found out I CAN'T write Gurren Lagann fanfics given that. The one character Savvy wants to arrange naughty scenes for died a virgin according to the producers. LAME. I would have wanted him to be a sexy man vamp for naughty scenes and such.
As you can see, as much as I love any show/book/whatever, the writer in me will always find SOMETHING to nitpick. Always. Without fail. It is like the sun rising, soda going flat...
In The Doorstop, the MCs finally made it to the party. I never thought I would actually get to that point. I'm almost afraid.

I don't want to spoil anyone.
It's skerry because I NEVER get this far in anything substantial!
I don't usually get this far, period.
I just kind of mowed down everything in my path and the story is going somewhere. I know they do that sometimes, but I've never gotten one to do it this well for so long.
Only problem I'm having: I am getting a little lost on the outline for my next project. I know where I want to go, but not how to get there.
I might just do the sequel for The Doorstop instead. Or something else. But I really want to write the Untitled Story With Duck!
Even though it doesn't have ducks in it anymore.
I actually have more notes written down from some crazy dreams than for it. Like the story I almost started for NaNo last year! I could have done that instead. I wonder what my life would have been like if I'd started that instead?

Oh, speaking of which, Hypatia is being worked on as I type. The person I sent her to for painting dropped her other current project to work on her. BEHOLD THE POWER OF THE GOAT GIRL.
Anyway. 150K tonight! I'm so happy with what I wrote. I believe I will celebrate by writing more tomorrow and maybe having a sticky bun for dinner.
Now, watch me get drunk and pass out on the couch, accomplishing nothing.

Alas, no sticky buns this Friday ;_: *SOB*. I had a giant ham sammich instead. Delicious.
I said I was taking tonight off, but I kind of think I might end up going back to work. This has NOTHING to do with the fact I just hit another naughty scene. Nothing at all. Really.
It's actually because I've been a bit stumped about the subsequent sequence, but I just had an idea so good, I honestly think I could plow through the naughty JUST to get to it. Yeah, I don't see this book showing up in school libraries... and if it does, I bet I get on the banned and challenged list.
I treated myself to some new music for hitting 150K. I think I bought the wrong remix of "Heaven Sent" though. Oh darn!

Well, the naughty scene came out very naughty. I finished it and straight off put up the notice for my LJ mates that I wanted input for the next scene with this particular pair. I take the term "fanservice" very literally!
My Gurren Lagann doujinshi got here today. Well, my fifth one. I have NO IDEA why the original owner sold it. It was so hot it made my mouth water.
Ahem. I'm noticing that, alas, a lot of people in this guild don't have very supportive parents. I wish I could, in my old-lady-ness, give more and better advice for dealing with that, but the fact is, my parents and my sister write also. I bet the cat would if she had fingers. Much of my extended family does. It's just the way we are.
I think I got in trouble ONCE for not wanting to come downstairs while hacking away at something.
