And the part of Endiness that would collide with Alagaesia would be Serdio, which is the land farthest to the East The mountain range that splits Serdio into North and South could then become a perpendicular branch of the Spine.

Such a collision would cause almost instant interaction amongst the prime main characters.
So then, what do we do with the old rp if we are going to replace it? Though it may seem rather shrewd, I'd take preference to not simply pushing the delete button.

sigh...how about a crash in the southwest of Endiness and the northeast of that other place. That way, it's not an instant meet up, but more of a gradualt thing...

instant meeting usually only work if there's the main two characters & everyone else fades into the storyline.

The North East of Alagaesia is not connected to the sea. It is merely unchartered land, much like Endiness.
And lakita, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Why in the world would there possibly need to be only two main characters and every else need to fade into the background for an instant interaction to work? Especially when an instant interaction is, exactly that, an instant interaction! Hence, all the characters interacting! Where in there does it possibly include everyone fading off and only two people being important?

ever read JRR Tolken's "The Lord of the Rings"? most of the "main" characters fade into the story & the main focus is on 2 or three people. though, "A Rumor of Dragons" had all the characters meet in like the first two chapters & it was an ok story. "Katherine" too, had most of the characters meet in the first chapters, but nearly all of them die so that adds to neutral i honestly don't know what to say except...  mostly because its fun! 4laugh lighten up; you know you wuv me. I'm adorable. razz

Lakita, you see, your what I call a college-know-it-all-wannabe.
See, a college-know-it-all has gone to college and learned useless crap and then spouts it out in everyday conversation to make whatever senseless thing they're trying to prove seem right, even though it's utter bullshit, just like them.
Whereas a college-know-it-all-wannabe is exactly just that, a wannabe. Thats you.
Those books have nothing to do with this, Lakita. Figure it out.

Actually, she does make a point that you apparently can't see. She was saying hat making the people all meet in an instant would probably result in the fading of characters she mentioned. She was merely agreeing with Meru that having the two groups meet gradually was a much better idea in a literary sense.

I knew her point, and I replied seriously. I was not ridiculing her point. Merely the evidence by which she attempted to substantiate it with.
Seriously, why do I find myself having to explain myself with you all after every post? Will I have to explain everything I do as I write it from now on?

I believe that even though a direct confrontation may save us the threat of long term drawn out individualism...there is also more room to build upon each of the characters...unlike if it was a direct confrotation, and each of the characters are struggling to build upon themselves AND contribute to the story...
