Blinking at the abrupt switch of people, he took the poking from Pomme with aplomb. He noted that the vampire's eyes had glinted a minor challenge when he mentioned he was a swordsman. Outwardly he gave no sign of this observation but inwardly we was thankful that he didn't have to face a master, as her walked indicated she was.
"My name is Midalthron Valcovin Setwin. Call me Midal." Letting himself be tugged along by Pomme. "The Elite group? I'm getting a position in the castle? Wow." He followed Pomme's lead around the castle, careful to note every potential attack point and praying he could convince the majority of his clan to support the new Erion Queen. "So how long have you served the Queen? She has such poise and power. She has an air of authority and honesty." Adding under his breath, "Which I find amazing compared to her relatives." He touched his sword and the leather bindings around it rejoined the scabbard, leaving the sword free. He pulled a series of small clay beads ,with letters engraved on them, and began running them through his fingers.

"Wahooo that's a long name! Midal! That sounds nice!" She gave a smile to the man. "Congratulations! You must have made an impressive effect on Lady Serenice for her to make you part of the Elite team. I'll introduce you to the others later."
She paused before answering his question. She had never served the Queen and never would. But that was not a statement to say, especially in front of someone who obviously was impressed by Lilith. "As far as I can remember..." was her answer. "She is different indeed, very different..." she remembered the time when Serenice had been beaten by the King himself for leaving Lilith unsupervised for a minute.
As she noticed him playing with something, she asked vividly "Ooooh what is that?! Are you a sorcerer?! You don't look like one!" This man was strange and different from the other men in the castle and she was happy to have something unique to do today.

Thumbing the beads through his hands he listened to Pomme rattle on, noticing how she didn't actually answer his question about her length of service. "No I'm not a sorcerer. I am transmuter. I can manipulate inanimate material to suit my needs." After a few minutes of talking about magic with Pomme he stopped as an eerie thought drifted into his head. "Pomme, what exactly are the tasks give to the Elite team? Are they used as like a secret police force?" Looking around he noticed the window nearby and mental gave thanks to the gods for the advantageous position. He was not going to be some brute in this army. He wanted honor and a place of acceptance for his people. If he was about to become a member of an Erionian Brute squad, he was leaving, fast.

{{Hmm'kay.}}
Lilith could still hear what was going on outside, although she didn't bother to turn her head to look. It ached too much for her to bother to do something like that. Just a few days ago everything had been so peaceful and now it felt like it was an absolute wreak. She leaned her back against the side of the windowsill, eyes lowering as a breeze trickled by and brushed a curl across her neck. She pressed a cold hand against her neck, pinning the curl between her hand the skin of her neck. She knew that there would have to be some sort of a crowning ceremony for her to be fully accepted as the queen. When that would happen wasn't something that she was sure of- perhaps in a few days or by the end of this week. It was incredibly soon, but the faster that she was able to be in the seat of full authority the better.
And so what should she do with the army? Normally the idea would be to send some troops out to hold out briefly against their incoming enemies, but she feared that doing something like that would cause them to be too spread out. However, if she kept her troops here then when the Mei'q Valuk army came there's was the possibility of the capital being cut-off from resources and slowly starved them out of supplies and men. If only the Mei'q Valuk troops could be down-sized before they came....
'Perhaps... what if...?' Lilith's read rose, eyes lifting up as more ideas came filtering through her head. It was normally Erion's style to send out their own forces and fight directly there. But what if they set up traps before their enemies arrived? Make the terrain more difficult to travel across? Certainly their mages and workers could do something... albeit doing something quite like that wouldn't be honorable, but they were on the verge of being destroyed. Lilith was willing to try anything.
"Serenice! Come here." Lilith ordered, her voice ringing out clearly through the empty room and into the hall.

Serenice quietly closed the door. She was relief that Pomme would take care of the man. He was powerful to be both a threat and useful. She did not trust him. Outside of Pomme and the Queen, and even then..., Serenice did not trust anyone. She knew Pomme since childhood, the orange hair woman was about her age, full of life and she never seemed to bother that Serenice was a vampire.
She walked to the Queen silently. Lilith seemed lost in her thoughts, becoming Queen was something that was affecting the young woman, Serenice knew it. When Lilith shouted, Serenice almost jumped as she was so close. She looked at the Queen a little puzzled. Maybe she did not see me entering... "My Queen, you called for me?" she asked politely with a bow.
Pomme was truly interested into the man's abilities. That was very unique, not many people could transmute, that was even the first time she was to meet a transmuter. She noticed that despite his nice ton and discussion about magic something seemed to be eating into his mind. When he asked her what the Elite Group was about, she gave a small smile. "Let me see..." She wanted to tease him but did not. Then giving her a bright smile, she pushed a door. "Here you are! This is your room. As part of the Elite team you have your own." she came closer and whispered to his ear. "That's a great privilege, given to few in this castle!"

Standing out in the hall still worry, determination and a mild does of apprehension clouded his eyes and face. "First answer my question. What purpose does the Elite team serve?" Slowly sliding one hand towards his sword and the other towards his sword breaker. "I must know before I lose my honor." He touched the hilts of both sword and sword breaker, slowly his fingers encased the hilts, and he gripped them without drawing.

Pomme stopped at the ton of the man and her eyes narrowed when he slowly touched his sword. "I see that both Lady Serenice and you have something in common Midal." She paused. "Paranoia!" she giggled but her laugh froze and in a quick pirouette on the side she carefully placed herself behind him. A knife seemed to appear from nowhere in her hand and was quickly against the skin of his neck. "Never threaten me, ever again!" her ton was surprisingly cold. She had been nice to him and her reward was seeing this man ready to draw her sword while she appeared unarmed. What type of man was he?
She quickly stepped back and looked at the man. "Well I guess I cannot hold it against you to keep your honor..." she said with a softer ton. "I was about to answer your question, however the Elite team is somewhat...secret." she raised an eyebrow. He was screaming it as if he wanted the full palace to know about it. "Didn't you notice that Lady Serenice waited for both the Queen and the guards to have left before telling you that you were part of the team?"
She stepped in the door frame of his room. "If you may trust me only once, it shall be now. I will talk further only in a smaller and close room." She stepped in his room and sat on a chair, waiting for him to come in and close the door or fly away. At that point she did not care.

Reflexly partially drawing his swords as her knife appeared, he froze the moment it touched his neck. As she talked he thought about explosively opening his wings but decided against it. He wasn't here to fight those who should become allies.
When she removed the blade and moved into the room. He slide the weapons back into their sheaths and shook himself. "You evaded my question and that made me suspicious."
Making a small sign with his hands, he visibly calmed himself and stepped into the room. Using a wing, he slowly closed the door. The moment it clicked shut, Midal squatted and his eyes zeroed in on Pomme with intensity. "What is the Elite team's purpose?" As he spoke he placed slightly spread his wings and placed his right hand on his knee and his left on the stone floor.

Pomme looked at the man. Her smiling and jovial expression gave place to something more serious and less airy.
"The Elite team does not exist." She looked at him, waiting for the words to make their way in the winged man's mind.
"We do not exist." she added, anchoring her dark orange eyes in his. "The Queen needs protection. Serenice is the Queen's protection. Serenice needs multiple eyes, minds, ... blades. She needs information. We are her 'intelligence'." she gave some time to the man before adding. "We do not exist. The Queen does not know of us." Although she is no fool that something like us might exist. Lilith is very clever... thought the short woman. She looked at the winged of the man. She wished she had some herself.
She stood up all at once and squatted in front of him, a couple of inches from his face. The seriousness had disappeared from her face and she poked the wings. "I envy you." she admitted with a smile. Then looking at him straight in his eyes. "Do you have any other questions?"

As soon as her bodyguard answered Lilith turned her head to look at her. "I want you to bring the head of the magic division here... along with whoever manages our building projects." Lilith pushed herself off from the window sill and walked over to her vanity. She picked up a pin and pulled her hair back, sticking the pin in and then looking down at her dress. 'It's covered in dirt and there's a huge rip!' Lilith growled and walked over to where more of her dresses were. Fantastic, a ruined dress. There were plenty more inside and a second later at her call maids rushed in to help her into a new dress.
Only a few minutes afterwards she was in a new, unripped dress. It was blue with white rims and various ribbons and ruffles. She walked around her room, pressing a hand against her cheek before looking over to where the people she'd summoned should come in from.

Seren bowed and silently moved to the door ringing the rope on her way. Quickly a servant came running, lowering his head as much as he could. Serenice spoke few and quickly and the man ran in the opposite direction. She waited at the door, keeping on eye as the Queen changed clothes. She would never wear any feminine clothes. She smirked at the idea of having herself in a dress...
She did not wait long before two men arrived. A tall man with a grey beard wrapped in blue. The archetype of a magician, Serenice had always laughed at how much of a caricature the man was. As if he had posed for any book containing pictures of magicians. Next to him was a strong man, slightly shorter but always as tall as the vampire. The man was nervously scrubbing his hands together. As they saw the vampire they both bowed, the man more than the magician who had a defiant look as he watched Serenice. They did not like each other.
The vampire opened the door and announced the men. They slowly entered. This time both bowed as low as they could, waiting for the Queen to address them.

He jolted back like afork of lightning had run through his entire body. The jolt sent him rolling back onto his butt, his wings flung wide, hitting the bed and a wall. As his wings encountered the bed and wall, a few feathers scatted from his wings and drifted down. The bed skidded the few inches into the wall before stopping.
Stumbling over his words he babbled like a brook "Envy me? Why in the....Nevermind. No, no more questions. Secret Operatives. " Closing his eyes a moment he flushed slightly in embarrassment. A few long calming breaths later, his blue eyes snapped open, "Sorry, I have no more questions. Your answers are excellent and this is a position where, I think, I will be most useful to our Queen. Thank you for your information and candor. Again I'm sorry for my rudeness."
He righted himself and closed his wings, rubbing the edges that impacted with wall and bed. "Ow." After a moment he got his feet under him and bent over, and began collecting the feathers from around the room. "Actually I do have one question, can you have the guards give me back my sets of runes? They are important to me."

When he spread his wings all at once, Pomme backed up with a hands-free somersault. She was puzzled by his reaction. Did I say something wrong? Her eyes were wide opened. She found his flushing cute and could not help but giggle softly. She watched him closely. He was such a unique person. His manners were strange, it was obvious that he was a foreigner, but he was fun. Her eyebrow raised even so slightly at the word 'candor'. Well as long as he does not believe me stupid...
"Those ones?" she asked, retrieving the runes from nowhere. She had a bright smile. "This is quite a unique collection" she added. She had seen runes before but these ones were very unique. "What do you use them for?" she asked, giving him his runes and sitting back on the chair.
