They didn't have to go far; Marius met them at the door. "Well, gents, you ready for some more treasure hunting? I get the impression you don't have a taste for trinkets and knick-knacks... so, to thank ye for yer company, why don't we go an' see what them rich folks near the palace keep in their houses?"

Without waiting for a response, he stepped out of the building and began heading back for the Sabre. Stopping midway, he turned around.

"Agreeable?"

"Sure, as long as these 'rich' people have more than medical syringes." Shin was still kinda pissed that they had found nothing of monetary value besides some medical equipment. The fact that they had also found weapons only lessened his anger over this so far useless choice of direction. He bet the other had already found some gold.

Caesar actually took pause for a moment at this suggestion: raiding the asylum had been an impersonal crime, whereas this would be busting into houses. People's personal living space.

Of course, logic caught up with him. These were personal living spaces. "Sounds great. And you wouldn't want one of these, would you?" He awkardly rested the barrel on one arm and his side while continuing to walk. With his other hand he activated the snapping, arcing electric head on his prod and withdrew it from the barrel with a grin.

He had decided to put off the log discussion until after he could drop the barrel.

Kuji stepped forward. "Lemme see that," he muttered, holding out a bony hand.

"Alright, then! Let's go! Loot! Loot!"

With that, he headed off to Central Fields.

((Sorry I'm taking so long. sweatdrop I wasn't planning on controlling this boss.))

"That one's mine." Caesar handed the baton to Kuji; despite a small part of him being alarmed at arming the pirate.

Caesar let the objection drop. It wasn't important. He re-hefted the barrel and continued on towards the Central Fields. Loot was loot.

He was now back at Happy Restings. He didn't expect to be back here, but it looked like this asylum was actually going to be helpful. He heads inside through the door Athan had bashed opened when they were previously there, then heads over to some drawers behind the desk, searching to see if he can find a listing of a Genevar, such as information on her and her room number.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 01, 2008 12:29 pm

With enough searching, he would find a very thick folder on Genevar in the cabinet marked "Special Cases." Pages upon pages written in illegible scrawl from over a dozen psychiatrists and psychologists filled the folder, the front page containing normal information like date of birth, date of admission, and--a common stat for residents of Happy Resting--time spent in the Unity Field (she had spent entire decades of her life there).

The common thread in these notes were the bafflement at what, exactly, caused Genevar to crack. She had been in perfect health right up until she lost it early last year, which was atypical for cases of Unified Psychosis, the Frostschildian mental disorder with which she was diagnosed.

Included in her file was her room. She had a "VIP Suite" on the top floor, with a view of the Corn Maize.

He flipped through this large folder as he lies it on the counter. "Unified Psychosis? The hell?" Quite a word for someone to be diagnosed with, but he'll have to get a better understanding on what exactly what they meant. To him, it seemed more like they were misunderstanding her case, from what he has learned and is assuming. With the location pinpointed, he takes the folder under his right armpit, and heads for the stairs, heading up to this VIP suite on the top floor.

When he arrived, he would find the room littered with scribblings and diagrams, presumably in Genevar's own handwriting. The papers covered the floor, were pasted all over the walls, covered her uncomfortable-looking bed. These papers were about threads and marbles and tears, but none of it really made any sense.

Then there was her desk. A single note, and a pen that rested on top of it. The note ended with a wavy line, as though she had simply let go of the pen and walked away.

The note simply read:

"We are not dead. We are still here."

So much paper. Chen lies the folder down onto the bed, taking up sheet by sheet. Everything didn't really connect, though there were still those references to marbles. But now threads and tears? Still not connecting. Then he walks over to the table, reading the note. His eyes gaze away, returning to his reading, this one from Genevar's Lost Marbles.

"If we have gone when you find this, read my words and know them well: We Are Still Here. Protect the Unity Field. Protect my dear Azhralani. For if She should fall, so shall we, and Frostschild will be lost forever. "

Chen steps away, looking out the window onto the Corn Maize.

"They're still here. If they are, then maybe..."

Chen raises his right hand in the air, as if he was placing it against some glass. Bringing his left hand to his temple, he closes his eyes, concentrating with his powers to attempt to feel any metaphysical presences within this room. He would be expanding this mental globe, too, to see if how many presences he can pick up. And maybe if he was lucky enough, he can get into contact with one of these presences. Genevar would be his prime goal, using his powers to their best.

"Genevar, if you are here, answer me. I have come to help."

Chen would expand his psyche, and there he would brush against hers, but just barely. She was still sitting in that chair, at her desk, still writing the note, but frozen. Gone. Incorporeal from the perspective of this dimension, but still there. And distant. He could feel her, but she was so far away. Too far away to hear his call.

And so were the others. As he extended his reach, he would find them all, all the citizens of Frostschild, frozen, right there yet so far away.

Upon realizing this, his eyes open quickly, looking toward the chair where he had felt her. So that wiggly line wasn't just a special effect. The moment she finished that phrase, something happened that caused everyone to just....disappear.

"She's right....I can feel them.....every one of them. They're still here. They're still right here. They are here, yet...they can't get into contact with this world."

"However, if they are still here," he says, his right finger pointing in a serious manner toward the ground. "Then that must mean Azhralani is still here! I wonder..."

He walks over to the desk, picks up the pen, and writes on the notepad: "Do not worry. I will save you. All of you. Chen Ning."

Out the room he runs, he stomps down the stairs, and is now off back to the Central Field in a run. It was time for him to bring this case into clear perspective.

A figure dramatically stood on a hilltop near the happy resting asylum. His scarf was dramatically waving is the winds, which by the way, were quickly growing colder. The man was wearing a full suit of armour, not a single bit of flesh was exposed, and even if it could be there just seemed to be darkness. Strangely enough the man was strapped with more martial weapons than any one person should carry.

"Those clearly were not the fighters I sensed!" It spoke from behind the closed visor and quickly held up a clenched fist, "I must explore this city... to test my MIGHTY BLADE!"

"Hrmn." The armoured figure thought, "Perhaps my search will be more fruitful... THIS WAY! HYAH!"

The figure took off on a charge towards the North Fields.
