"But you do!" she insisted, cuffing her other side with her other wing. She jumped slightly as she suddenly stood up, and stood rock still. "Ah..." she trailed off sadly. "Come back soon...?"

Arrakis smiled toothily at Hateya, "A clan of dragons couldn't keep me away!"
The dragon embraced the harpy. Arrakis sang the first few notes of Hateya's song softly in her ear, "Remember your song!"
With that, the dragon left the room. She twirled at the last instant and waved to her new friend, and then danced off into the night to return home before Elf woke up.
Along the way, the echoing sound of Arrakis singing Hateya's song could be heard.

Smiling back at Arrakis, Hateya hugged her back, listening intently to the song she was singing. "I will.." she said as she watched the departing figure of Arrakis.

October 22 I met a girl last night --Arrakis. She seemed nice, she helped me find out what I was, but I wasn't too sure about some of the things she was talking about....
Suboshi let me pick out what room I wanted (she said 'any room that isn't occupied....), so now I live in the attic...There is a very nice view of the forest in the back yard, and it seems to extend over most of the house, so there's a window in the front of the house too.
Going back to the night I met Arrakis--What I found out about myself was not exactly what I was hoping. Deep down, I'm starting to wonder if I will end up like that...

Hateya sat on the old broken down swingset, humming tunelessly under her breath and scribbling in her journal. She was so absorbed in her task, however, that she didn't notice the long grass surrounding the swingset waver as if something was passing through it.... With a snarl, a small boy flung himself out of the grasses, and onto the swingset. Biting back the shriek that was emerging from her throat, she slammed her journal shut, and turned to glare at the distraction. Her angry snarl died, though, when she saw her attacker. The small boy was lying on the other swing, swinging back and forth, making 'whrrr'ing noises in time with the swing. "...Who are you..?" she asked, dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of the boy. "'Lind" he said shortly before returning to his whirring. Scuffing his feet along the ground to slow him to a stop, he twisted around untill he was staring at Hateya. "Who're youuuuu?" "Ah...Hateya..." she said, completly knocked off balance by this odd child. "Oooh....Well, bye!" he said, sliding off of the swing and running back into the grass, echos of 'doot, doot, doot..' following after him.

Grumbling with frusturation, Hateya stopmed down the stairs leading from her room, down the hall, and into the library. She dug around in the drawers, looking for another pen. Her hand brushed against something that was quite likely to be a pen....Untill it burned her hand, of course. Biting back a scream, she yankd her hand out of the drawer and examined it, looking for any trace of a burn.
She pulled the drawer open further, letting more light shine in it. Peering into it, the only thing she saw was a small glass bottle, rolling around. Picking it up carefully, she examined the contents, and jiggled it slightly to see what'd happen. Inside of the bottle wasa bunch of what looked like glowing purple gravel that sparked when agitated, and was warm to the touch.
Glancing around in an almost guilty fasion, she pocketed the bottle, and grabbed a pen quickly before racing back upstairs to her room.

It was a dark and stormy night. Trees rustled, wind blew, and from out of the bushes came a... ...well, she wasn't quite sure WHAT it was. Feathers rustled, tails swished, and a pair of deep orange eyes stared into hers.
::Mistress...:: a voice rumbled in her head, the creature's head inclining.
"Who..." she began, but was cut off when something bit her hand...
Hateya jerked up from her bed, almost hitting her head on the slanted roof of the attic. Looking down at her hand, she saw that it had small peices of glass in it and was bleeding sluggishly. Apparently, she had gone to sleep with it clutched in her hand and it broke..somehow.
Looking anxiously around her, she saw the dying purple embers scattered around on the floor and in the sheets. She moved to start scooping them up when something shiney and purple crossed her line of sight, loop around the room, and ram into her head.
Reeling from the blow, she shook her head, and looked on the ground next to her. Laying there, was a long purple dragon, glowing like the embers that were in the bottle. The dragon got up, and wobbled around a bit, before it saw Hateya and leapt on her, chittering happily. She tried to pull it off, but it just would itself tighter around her.
"Aargh! Fine! Be that way!" she growled irritably, before trudging off to her bed and burrowing under the covers.
The dragon, greatly confused by the whole ordeal, unlatched itself from Hateya's arm, flew around the room for a few minutes, before settling down in the folds of the sheets on the bed.

Stumbling down from her room at a completly unholy hour of the morning, Hateya bumped her way along the hall and into the living room.
"Gah, Beryx! Get out of my face!" she snarled at the purple dragon that was quite content to sleep on her head, tail dangling in front of her eyes. Finally making it into the living room in (generaly) one piece, she blinked and thought she had been transported to another house in the middle of the night.
"Heee~lo 'Teya! What're you doing up so early?" a voice said behind a large pile of...something.
Spluttering, her tired eyes strained to take in the many decorations in green, red, and gold. "What happened?!?"
"Decorating." the voice responded, arm snaking out from amongst the boxes to grab a hammer and a few nails.
"..For what? It looks like something exploded."
"'S for Christmas of course!" A black-haired head popped out from the boxes. "Does it? I think it looks pretty~" Grinning manically, Faras tossed her a santa hat.
"Yeah, you would." she mumbled, tossing the hat back to him and trudging off to the kitchen to grab some breakfast.
Frowning slightly as Hateya left, Faras tilted his head and thought for a moment. Shrugging slightly, he jammed the hat on his head, all traces of the frown gone, and continued the decorating.

It was cold. Too cold. Grumbling, Hateya rolled out of bed, dragging the blaknets with her. Padding over to the window, she slammed it closed, and was stumbling back to bed when she head something crashing around downstairs. Snarling silently at the gods, who were clearly enjoying themselves at her expense, she stomped down the stairs and into the livingroom, where the disturbance was apparently coming from. Her jaw dropped open when she saw a....flying reindeer...which zoomed over to her and latched onto her leg when she entered the room.
Right, she could almost hear the gods crying from their laughter. She hoped they choked.

Hateya leaned on the broom and examined her work. Perfect. The entire roof had been swetp clean of all the snow, but it had all been piled up on the section above the door...
Grinning evilly, she positioned hersef next to the pile of snow and waited. A few minutes later the door creaked open. Her target was in sight >D
Quickly scrambling to the snow pile, she took the broom and SHOVED. What seemed to be a small avalanche rained down on the unsuspecting victims head. Jumping off of the roof, wings flapping to slow her descent, Hateya landed next to the human-sized snowlump, sinking a few inches into the surrounding snow. Patting Faras' head as it popped out from beneath the snow, spluttering indignantly, she said only one word as she entered the house.
"Payback."

Hateya trudged down the road, rubbing her elbow and cursing under her breath. WHY a giant six-armed elephant was on the stairs, she had no idea. In her angry musings, she almost missed the store with a large sign handing in front of it.
...Almost.
About half an hour later, she stepped out of the shop, her wallet lighter, and with a definate spring in her step. Following in her wake was a young man with long brown hair. When they reached her house, Hateya pushed open the door and looked around to see if there was anyone there.
"Well....you can see you have abit of work to do...."
The man just sighed and plunged into the precariously blaanced house of stuff.
~*~*~*~*~
A good while passed before Subo came home. She was walking towards the house when she saw a strange...man walk away from the house. And Hateya was waving to him. In a nicehappy friendly manner.
Well now, uh...o_o; That was odd. She wasuptosomething. Glancing briefly at the man as he passed, she hopped up the stairs and stood in front of Hateys. "Who was that?" she asked, smiling widley.
Snorting, she said nothing, but shoved Subo through the door.
Silence, then... "....Since when did we have hardwood floors?"

"Flying Purple People Eaters"
Hateya's foot jiggled slightly to an unheard tune, absentmindedly observing the world in general from one of the benches in the park. She sighed and shifted her position slightly, crossing one leg over the other, foot resuming its jiggling when she settled down. Ah, PEACE and QUIET. A rare commodity around the house. Her eyes slowly closed untill only a small slit was visible. She hummed a tune under her breath which whould've been slightly haunting at any other time, but the small smile hovering at the corners of her mouth and the soft chirping of birds in the background softened the melody.
Of course, peace and quiet in public was almost as hard to obtain in public as it was at home. Her eyes cracked open and her humming ceased as what sounded to be a large group of teenage males advanced towards her. Grumbling slightly, she sunk into the bench, hoping to be overlooked.
This, rather predictably, had no effect whatsoever. She hissed as her ankle became offbeat, jarring up and smacking into the leg of the bench when a loud chorus of whistles, catcalls, and suggestive lewd comments floated her way. The glare she shot their way would have skinned them alive had the world and sense of justice. Sadly, the glare only seemed to rile them up, and they all broke out in loud bouts of guffaws.
"Heh, seems like the little girly has some spunk." said the (supposed) leader of the group as he collapsed onto the bench next to Hateya. Her brain was in such a state of incomprehensible rage, embarassment, and fear (mostly rage, though) that she didn't respond to his arm which snaked itself around her shoulders.
She was lost in her own malestorm of anger, eyes narrowing in rage and talon-like nails biting into her palm. She was ignoring the comments of the men around her, until one particular one snapped her out of her reverie.
"I wish I was a flying purple people eater, cause DAYUM you're fine, and I just want to...eat you up, woman!" the man sitting next to her exclaimed, the hand on her shoulder sliding down slowly. Hateya, however, did not respond the way ANY of them thought she would. Her lashing out at them in anger was all fine and good, she was just ONE girl, what could she do to them? But no, instead, she hunched over, clutching her stomach, her shoulders shaking with....laughter. The man next to her withdrew his hand quickly as she sat up again, head leaning over the back of the bench, still laughing too hard to do anything.
"That...was the stupidest pick-up line I've EVER heard!" she manged to choke out, wiping the tears of laughter from her eyes with the back of her hand. "Really, you need to get some new material or something." she said as she stood up and began to walk away. However, the leader's hand caught her wrist and pulled her back onto the bench--well, his lap, actually.
"Nownow chicky, don't go yet, we haven't gotten to know eachother yet..." he muttered into her ear, his hand still gripping her wrist, the other wound around her waist, pulling her closer to him until her back was pressed against his back. The band of men snickered as Hateya squirmed about, trying to break free.
Oh, so that's how it's gonna be, huh? Her eyes narrowing in wrath, she relaxed, wiling her limbs to become limp. She let out a small 'Hah!' of triumph as he pressed himself closer to her. And with a snap of her wings, sent him flying off. He landed with an audible 'thump' which made many onlookers wince. Hateya slowly paced over towards him, keeping him pinned to the ground with one booted foot.
"Now, YOU," she said, tapping his chest with her toe to emphasise, "are going to toddle off nicely and leave me alone. Right?" She frowned slightly and added more pressure on her foot when she saw him growl and start to rise. "RIGHT?" The man could only nod as her foot slowly squeezed the breath out of his chest. "Good."
She walked back to the bench, glaring at the group of men untill they slowly edged away. She grinned widley and began to hum again. THis time, however, the tune was chilling, and the malicious glint in Hateya's eyes did nothing to soften the tune.
Ah, she so loved getting out of the house.

The monster was about to eat the pineapple. But the pineapple had other ideas. It morphed into a spider and latched onto the monster's face, which was looking more sheep-like by the moment---
Hateya sighed and sheilded her eyes against the sun as the clouds moved out from in front of it. SHe shifted slightly, trying to find a more comfortable spot on the platform that was part of the swingset in the back yard. Opening her journal to the next blank page, she scribbled in a few lines, before sighing again and slamming it closed. Well, today was rather uneventful...and sleepy. Very sleepy. Oh look, the pineapple's ba--SCREAAAACK!
Rolling lethargically over to her side, she peered down over the edge of the platform, "Hi Nova.." she said, rolling back over onto her back and throwing an arm over her eyes.
"Everyone's so SLEEPY." The small butterfly girl huffed, curling an arm around the chain of the swing.
"Eh, well, nothing you can do about it, huh?"
Nova sat for a few moments, slowly swinging back and forth on the swing. With a small sigh, she hopped off of the swingset andran through the tall grass in the backyard. "Staring at the sun is bad for your eyes!" she called over her shoulder before being swallowe dup by the overgrown platlife.
Hateya stared at her retreating form for a moment before returning to her regularly schedualed cloud-gazing. Thatgirl is wierd.

Hateya crept down the stairs from her room cautiously, peering around corners as she got to them and slowly made her way thusly to the area near the front door. The voices she was hearing (one familiar and the other very much not) drifted down the hall, taking on a note of finality. She came out from behind the shelter of the wall as she heard the door open, and curiously padded into view to see if she could catch the tail-end of the conversation without being noticed. "...won't happen again." Faras said, head inclining as the other figure stepped out the door. "I'm sure it won't." the strange man (for he was rather strange, the par of his face Hateya could see was covered inan odd pattern, there were two black horns growing out of his foredead, and he was dressed as if he was hunting, complete with bow and quiver of arrows that were leaning on the wall) said, humor tinting his voice as he slung the quiver of arrows over his shoulder. Her eyebrow quirked upwards as she stared at the man as he retreated, shifting her position slightly. She winced inwardly as he stopped and turned his head to stare at her, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards in a small smile before he left. "Annnd who was that?" Hateya asked Faras, who was retreating to the library. "A neighbor. Apparently little Al-Hadiye has been bothering the local domesticated animals." "Uhm...I thouught the only neighbors we had lived a good long way aways?""He lives in the forest." Oh. "Oh." she responded, slinking back up to her room. Nova appeared at her elbow, though, and peered up at her face. "You're blushing..." she observed, and hurried off, but not fast enough to avoid the fist bonking her on the head.
