Father prompt (Father's name is Shayden Foal 1- Glow, Foal 2-Spark Mama-Sadiya)

Perfect, Shayden thought with a sigh, My love isn't feeling very well today. He looked over at the mare as she slumped around, her head low, nearly rubbing against the dry dist on the ground. In a few minutes, she would fly away, to "relieve her stress" as she told him, and he would look after their two lovely daughters.

As Sadiya spread her wings, and swooshed into the air, letting it weave through her mane, Shayden sighed and looked over his shoulder at his daughters as they galloped across the field, jumping up at each other once in awhile. He shook his head and slowly turned around again. When he turned around, he immediately stiffened. Where was Glow? Spark was there, lying on the grass, but where was Glow?

"Spark!" he yelled, "Where's your sister?"

"Oh, she went to look for mum when she saw her go towards the cliff face," Spark said with a shrug, "She claims that she's gunna gain wings when she flies! pshaw, as if she even has the guts to jump,"

Shayden's face when from a midnight black to a stormy grey. He knew how proud and confident Glow was, not to mention jeuvinile she was. He looked back at Spak, knottingup his eyebrows.

"What's wrong daddy? I wouldn't worry about glow if I were you, I think she's going to be fine." Spark said, rolling around in a patch of dusty ground, "She's not that stupid..."

"Spaaark!" Shaden howled, "You're sister is in danger! How could you-"

"Hi daddy!" Glow said, popping out of the bushes, "I couldn't catch the butterfly Spark, but, hey! Daddy, your face is a funny color." Glow giggled as the color of his pace had a huge contrast to the rest of his body

Shayden just sighed, letting his face go back to it's original shade. I guess I only remembered what a naive and confident little girl Glow was, but next time, I also have to remember what a big talker and trickster Spark is Shayden thought with a chuckle.

The last thing he heard before Sadiya's silouhuette appeared above the setting sun was Spark's hysterical laughter. I hope I won't be looking after these two for a bit Shayden thought as he nuzzled Sadiya affectionately.

Again, the foal's names are Amaya and Nerifiti, and since I'll be trying for the mother in this one, her name is Ozawa. <3 The dad will still be referred to as dad... XD

Both of your beautiful offspring have taken after their father, genetically. Neither possess wings, leaving you to be the only one in the family capable of flying.

One of your daughters questions you as to why she hadn't been born with wings like you. What do you tell her? How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself?

---

She knew that it was coming.

Her little angels... her daughters... they were so full of energy. And they were not stupid either. From the minute they were born, they knew that their mommy was different from their daddy. From the majority of Soquili in fact.

Ozawa remembered the night when she had asked her mother a similiar question.

"Mother, how come I have wings?"

"... Your father... you inherited them from him..."

"Father? I have a father?"

"Had. Had a father. He disowned you when you couldn't remember him."

"Why? I got his wings, wouldn't he like that?"

"No he wouldn't. He doesn't like me, he doesn't like you, that's why he left."

"But-"

"No buts! Just because he had wings like an angel doesn't mean he'd act like one! He's a despicable, filthy creature that should have never walked this earth!"

Her blue eyes misted over from the memory that bubbled up. She would never forget that night of stomping, shouting, and venemous hatred oozing from her normally docile mother.

But the question had to be asked sooner or later. She would have to be better than her mother, who blamed her one-time lover for everything. Not wanting her daughter to grow up blaming her father for not having wings, she'll have to think of a different approach to things.

"Moooooooom?"

Ozawa snapped out of her daydreams and turned to the filly. "Oh, sorry Amaya. What was the question again?"

"Why do you have wings and I don't?"

"Right." She knew very well what Amaya had asked, but she was still hanging onto the glimmer of hope that she had misheard and her daughter had asked something different.

"Well... your father doesn't have wings." Ozawa began with a sigh.

"So? What does that have to do with anything?"

"When you were born, there was a very little chance that you would inheirit my wings. You shouldn't blame your father though. Even we both had a pair, it wasn't certian that you would too."

Amaya scowled. "Why is getting wings so hard? It's not fair!"

"It's not fair, I know." She nuzzled her dark blue daughter out of sympathy. "If I could give you and Nerifiti and your father wings, I could. But the ability to fly can also be a burden as well as a gift."

"Burden? How so?" Amaya at first tried to back away but then let herself be nuzzled for her own sake.

"The sky is a lonely place. When you're flying, it makes you realize how few of you there are in the world that share your ability. And feathers are much harder to clean than fur and hair."

She laughed softly at her daughter's look of disgust. Knowing her dislike for cleaning, Ozawa figured that the prospect of washing wings would be enough to discourage her of getting some.

"But if it's that difficult to have wings, how did you get them? Did your parents have them? How did they get them?" Amaya was mind-boggled at how far back she would have to ask to determine the source.

"Yes... and no. My mother didn't have wings, my father did though. And how he got them... I don't know." The mother chuckled, amused by her curiousity. She wasn't quite sure herself how some Soquilis got wings. Her best explanation was the legend that was told to her when she was young, and became more skeptical of when Ozawa got older.

"Oh." Amaya wasn't satisfied with her mother's answer, but that would do for now.

"And remember, you'll always be my special little girl. You and Nerifiti. I would trade my wings for you, because I don't need them to love you."

Ozawa draped a wing over her, smiling and how lucky she was to conquer a touchy question. And how have such beautiful children and a wonderful mate, with or without wings.

FATHER PROMPT

You've been very blessed throughout your life, especially in regards to your family, which consists of a loving mate and two beautiful daughters.

Your mate is currently feeling under the weather, so you've taken on the responsibility of looking after your two daughters. Where do you take them? What do you talk to them about? Do you try to teach them a life lesson, or do you play around?
----------------------------------------

“Daddy~” Called his daughter, Riome. Her sister, Emoir, was right next to her, calling for him as well.

“Yes?” Raskoth called back to his two beloved daughters.

“Momma don’t feel good~” They said in unison, giggling at what they just did. They were so cute, and looked a looked so much like him. They were his precious gems.

“I know, dears. Come, we’re going to that meadow you love so much.” He told them, beginning to walk slowly up the path. They quickly pranced up to him, giggling with excitement all the way.

“Really, Daddy? The one with the big blue flowers, and the butterflies, and all the grass?” Riome asked, eyes full of genuine excitement.

“And the huge trees, and the creek, and the pretty hummingbirds?” Emoir chimed in, kicking her back legs in excitement.

“Yes, my dears. That one.” Raskoth told them, giving them a genuine smile, which got them even more excited.

As they approached the meadow, the girls squealed at the sight, and ran as fast as their little legs could carry them. Raskoth smiled, and trotted to keep up with them. As the still wet grass touched their hooves, the girls jumped with glee, and began sniffing flowers, and watching the butterflies with awe.

“Daddy, what’s that one called?” Riome asked suddenly, nodding towards a large orange and black butterfly. It was sitting on one of flowers his daughter had mentioned earlier, flapping its wings slowly, as though relaxing.

“That, Riome, is called a Monarch Butterfly. Some humans believe that they’re a passed soul, going to heaven.”

“Daddy, what’s heaven?” Came Emoir’s voice, with genuine curiosity.

“Well…it’s hard to explain. Some of the Humans believe in it. It’s where a higher being, known only as “God” and his son Jesus are supposed to reside. They say it’s the most beautiful thing in the world, more beautiful than any woman or pearl. If you’ve lived a good life, you’re supposed to go there.”

“I wanna go to Heaven, Daddy.” Riome said, staring at the Monarch. “I wanna be a butterfly.”

Raskoth gave a small sigh. “So do I dear, so do I…”

“Daddy! What’s that?” Emoir shrieked, whinnying and running behind him. A moth, with a skull shape on its abdomen, fluttered past his nose, reeking of rotted fruit.

“Its just…a moth. The name escapes me, but it’s merely a moth. A cousin to the butterfly.” Raskoth told his daughter, giving her a gentle nuzzle.

“But Daddy, it’s so scary…” Emoir whined, still shivering.

“He’s harmless, don’t worry.”

“I don’t like him…”

“Let me tell you something, Emoir. Riome, it would be good for you to hear this too.” Raskoth commanded wit his gentle voice, and both his daughters paid close attention.

“In this world, there are lights and there are darks. Often, they are opposites, but closely related to each other. Like Life and Death. Heaven and Hell. Law and Chaos. One is something desirable, while the other is something vile. However, we must have both to survive. There is no Dark without a bit of light, and there is no Light without a shadow. That is the law of our world, and if it is broken…the Apocalypse would be upon us.”

Both girls stared at their father in amazement. They never thought that he could say something so deep, and always thought he was a big, fun goof ball.

“Come now, it’s getting dark. Your mother must be worried sick.”

Mother Prompt: Both of your beautiful offspring have taken after their father, genetically. Neither possess wings, leaving you to be the only one in the family capable of flying.

One of your daughters questions you as to why she hadn't been born with wings like you. What do you tell her? How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself?

She knew being a mother wouldn't be easy. Though, she had no idea that it would be questions that made it that way.

The day was just like any other. The sun lay high in the sky and cast down shining rays all over the grassy meadow. The mare sat enveloped in both the grass and the warm rays. Today she had nothing to do but relax and take in the quiet majesty of the world around her. Both would have been easy to do, if not for a small distraction.

Just as she felt her eyes closing, a soft rustling sound was heard that made her open them again. In front of the mare stood just one of her fillies. The fillie stood with her red eyes and dark fixed on her mother. For a moment the mare wondered if something was wrong, but forgot about this when her daughter asked one question, "Momma, why do I not have wings like you do?"

The question seemed simple enough to the youngster but left her mother speechless. She had in no way been expecting this from her daughter. Atleast, not for a while anyway. Now she would need to think of the perfect way to answer it...

"Well, that question requires some-what of a lengthy response. Are you up for that?" she questioned her daughter. The filly nodded quickly and plopped herself down in the grass.

"Alright. For starters, you have to realized that there are many different kinds of us Soquili. Some have wings while others don't, some have horns, and others may swim in the sea. You my dear are one that was not born with wings upon your back."

"But Momma! You have-" the filly cut in suddenly. Though, this wasn't unexpected. The mare knew her daughter would say something in that manner.

"Yes, I was getting to that Sweetheart. But first, do you understand what I said about the different kinds of Soquili?" she wanted to make sure and ask before continuing.

"Yes'm. I've even seen this one guy that had a horn and wings," the filly proclamed, feeling proud about what she had seen."

"Soquili like that are different all there own. Now, as you know, I have wings but neither you nor your sister do. There is a very simple answer for this. For you see, your father is like you and is also wing-less," the mare paused for a second to gather her thoughts before continuing. "Now listen very closely. When you and your sister were born you took things from both your father and myself. Well, you didn't take things really, we gave them to you. We gave you many, many things. The colors on your coat and the patterns that grace them, aswell as the colors of your mane and tail. It just so happens that I was not able to give you my wings. Your father had already given you his wing-less back."

The mare stopped and took a deep breath. Her response had been nothing short of long-winded. She looked towards her daughter hoping to see an understanding face.

"So, I got Daddy's no-wings like I got your darkblue body?" the filly asked, unsure if she had understood her mother right.

"Yes! That's right!" the mare couldn't have been happier. For a moment she had feared that her daughter would not understand what she had been trying to say.

"I also gots your dark hair!" she burst out, happy to see that she had been right before.

"Yes!" It was growing hard for the mother to contain her joy. She felt as if she was hearing her daughter speak her first words again. And was acting that way too. Her daughter simply smiled and hopped up on her thin legs. Now that her question had been answered, she was ready to rejoin her sister for a game of tag.

The mare watched as her little filly galloped off and disappear as quickly has she had come. To her, she had just been given the answer to a question. But it had been different for the winged mare. For she felt as though she had won a victory within herself.

Then she realized that that was probably only the beginning of the difficult questions she would have to answer. That is when she came the the conclusion that whoever said being a mother was easy had to have been a male...

Father Prompt:

The stallion looked at his mate, and gave her a smile. He knew she wasn't feeling that well, and she was stressed out from taking care of their two daughters. He then gave her a snug, and let her know that he was going to take the responsibility for the fillies for the day. He then went over to their daughters, and gave them a motion to follow him. "Your mother isn't feeling that well today, so I'm in charge of watching you both" He said in a strict tone of voice.
As the made their way to the watering hole, he stopped and turned around to look at the girls. “You two have been stressing your mother out, I realize that you two don't mean to do so. But you both stress her out as she has to care for you both, and with her ill it makes things worse. So as I said earlier, it leaves me in charge of watching you two. So she can get some rest, and hopefully feel better once we get back.” He said, as he smiled at them both. “Now what shall we do?” He questioned them both. But before either of them could answer, he playfully nipped at both of them. Then jumped backwards, hoping they would play too. He then jumped forward, and nipped at one of the filly's hair. They both quickly realized what their father was doing, and decided to play with him. Both playfully nipping at each other, and also at their father.
After they got done playing, he lead them to a field full of apple trees for lunch. Watching them closely, he made sure they weren't pulling down apples just for the fun of it. Watching them both was quite hard, he could easily see why his mate was always stressed. Walking up behind them both, he felt the need to try and tell them something. But not knowing exactly what to say, or how to say it. After a few seconds of thinking, he finally figured out what he was to say to them. “I realize you two are still growing, and feel the need to get into everything. But can you both try to not cause trouble for your mother, and please listen to what she has to say.” He said with a strict, but loving tone. He cared for them, and his mate. With saying that, he grabbed his mate an apple. And lead the filly's back home to their mother.

-------------------------------------------
Nelza sighed, having only recently recovered from a vicious sickness that made her MIA for a few weeks, making her mate, Raskoth, take care of the children. Sure, teaching them of the lights and darks of society was a good thing, but they were so young. Emoir had taken it to heart the most, and even started acting like an adult.

At least Riome was still naturally curious as to the things of the world. Every other question was a “Why” question. Like; “Why is the Sky Blue?” or “Why is the grass green?” Or Nezla’s personal favorite, “Why do Humans have two legs, and not four?”

And today, she seemed chock full of questions.

“Momma, why are bugs so much smaller than us?”

“Because if they were any bigger, their exoskeletons would weigh so much, it’d kill them.” She answered with a smile.

“Why don’t birds have ears?”

“They do, but they’re just not visible to us.”

“Momma, why do some people hate each other?”

“Because of stupid little differences that can be overcome.”

“Momma, why is Daddy bigger than you?”

“Because that’s how we were made, for us females to be smaller than the males.”

“Momma, why do you have wings, but me and Emoir don’t?”

Nelza had to stop and think about her response for once. She never thought that Riome would ask such a question. It came to her with the force of one of the white man’s guns.

“…”

“Momma?”

“Well, it’s hard to explain, dear. There are these things called genes. And the Winged gene is very rare, so very few of us have it. It’s no big deal really. They’re just a little extra weight that let me fly. And flying isn’t really all that it’s cracked up to me, trust me, honey. Sure, you can get places faster, but really, I prefer to feel normal, and walk most of the time. ”

“Ohh…” Riome said with understanding, lying down next to her mother. “But, the Flutter Soquili love flying. Why?”

“It’s in their genes, honey. They enjoy flying, because flying is in their genes. It’s in mine too, but I’ve seen reality with my own eyes, not through my parents’ eyes.” Nelza told her daughter, smiling at her wide eyes.

“Momma?”

“Yes, my dear?”

“How did I get your genes then?”

“…”

Father Prompt

Havoin had started his life as a very lonely colt. His mother and father had disappeared during a Great Flame, and he had not seen them since. Somehow, through survival instincts he hadn't known he possessed, Havoin had survived long enough to become the luckiest Soquili in the lands.

"Most days..." The jet black stallion amended his thoughts, watching his lovely fillies romp around their mother. She was decidedly unwell that day, and was lying down in a bed of sweet oats he had gathered to make this thicket their home. They had no herd, and lived peacefully in this wild grassland...when the girls were behaving, that is.

Finally, the stallion decided to take the situation under control."Myani, Tatsana, leave your mother be!" His voice was not unkind, but firm, a tone both foals instinctively responded to, and listened almost immediately. Bending lightly to nuzzle his mate, he nickered at his offspring and led them from the thicket.

He remembered his days roaming this softly rolling grassland, and while it was peaceful now, he knew his beloved little girls would not always remain here. And it might not always be safe. Nudging each little filly on the rump, he pushed them playfully into the field that was their favorite play spot.

It was a cluster of small hills, and they could play hide and seek very efficiently, without having to go too far from their papa. Just how he liked it. "Now, girls, today we're going to play the ultimate game of hide and seek! You two like to giggle, and give yourselves away. But...if you're found, you get none of the sweet oats tonight!" With that ultimatum, he set out to teach them about survival. How to hide, and how to keep totally silent.

Predators loved little Soquili, and he vowed the day they were born, he would never allow it. He loved his mate, and he loved his daughters. Havoin, Soquili of the grasslands, would do all in his power to protect them.

And they loved him for it in return! Turning, he pawed the count on the ground, hearing the two canter away to hide. Noisy little things, adorable in every way possible. He was wrapped around their hooves, and the fact that they took most after him made him almost unbearably proud at times.

Finishing the count, he turned, hunched, and started peering through the grass. Unfortunately, he and his mate were dark, and the only places to hide in daylight were, well, nonexistent. It didn't take long to ferret out the softly giggling girls, much to their dismay. But, he didn't intend to hold them to it, offering them again, double odds that they wouldn't be found.

Finally, when it took him longer than five minutes to find his beloved darlings, he called them out of hiding, and promised them a double helping of their favorite sweet oats for the next moon cycle.

Chuckling, he herded them gently back to their mother, hoping the exhausted fillies would not trouble her any more, and his mind was calm. He was, after all, the luckiest Soquili!

Foal Prompt

Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up?

(( Trying for foal #2. ))

She wasn't entirely certain where her sister had gone. They had agreed to find something, anything really, to cheer their mother up which had, of course, lead to them going separate ways. Her sister just didn't have the same ideas as she did; night and day, really.

With a soft snort followed by a light huff she trotted along the path that she often walked with her father. "Hmm, hmm... What would cheer Mama up?" There were so many things that her mother liked... But no way that she could bring them home all at once.

Then she got an idea... A brilliant idea...

... ... ...

She wandered back close to sunset, completely exhausted but quite pleased with herself as she plopped down next to her mother. When asked where she'd been all day she started to tell the story of her day's adventure, starting with the stories that Father had told about Mother and the things that she liked to do. "I thought... That since you weren't feeling well I could go out and do those things for you... And maybe..." She yawned, gently nuzzling her mother as she settled down further. "Maybe... You and I can do them together next time."

Filly #1 Prompt
Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up?
Filly 1 is referred to as Rilhea.
I call Filly 2 Blanca. XD

Moooom,” Rilhea whined, nudging her mothers side. Rilhea was worried. Her mother’s feathers were ruffled, and her nose was not the normal snow white, but red. Bright red. Something is wrong, Rilhea thought, but what? She’d never seen her mother like this. She seemed a bit distraught. What was the word her father had used today? Ill, that was it. But what did it mean? Rilhea looked up at her mom. If this was what ill looked like, maybe it meant the same thing as ugly. But the way her father used it. She thought. He had said, “Rilhea, your mom is feeling ill right now. Hopefully she’ll be alright tomorrow. Leave her alone, I’m sure she doesn’t want you to catch whatever she’s gotten.” Feeling ugly? But, her mom was beautiful.

Her mother had long, flowing, black hair. Her eyes were a bright, crystal blue color, like the lake that her mother loved. Her blue and white wings, the one thing that made her truly stand out, was what really made her stunning.

Rilhea watched her mother’s slow, sloth-like movement. Ill. Her curiousness led her to voice her concerns. “Mommy, why do you feel so ugly when you’re so pretty?” Her large, round, red eyes were full of concern.

Her mom laughed. “Dearest, I’m not feeling ugly. I’m feeling…” she groped for the words, then finally came up with something suitable, “Under the weather. Rilhea, I’m sick.

Rilhea’s concern showed no sign of leaving. She nudged her mother lovingly, then trotted away, in search of Blanca. Blanca was Rilhea’s sister. Her coat was colored more along the lines of their mother, but the rest of her looks, her dad was responsible for.

Blanca!” Rilhea called, searching for her sister. She soon spotted Blanca, nudging an unmoving basket in the shade of a tree. “Blanca! Mom’s sick, we need to do something for her. She doesn’t look well.” Rilhea explained to her sister what she meant and they soon went rushing to their mother’s aide.

Blanca looked at her mother, her eyes filled with the same worry and concern that had consumed her sister’s only a few moments ago. “You’re right, Rilhea. We must do something to help! She looks… unwell. She’s never looked this bad before!” The two fillies were careful to keep their voices low, hoping to conceal their plan till the moment they chose to reveal it. After putting their heads together, literally (the two of them butted heads when trying to whisper, and hear the other at the same time), they hatched a plan.

Hello, Mom,” Blanca trotted up to her mother after talking with Rilhea and their father. “Mom,” she started again, “is it too much to ask of you to follow me?” Blanca’s tail was swishing around in excitement, hoping her mother would take the bait. After her mother nodded, she raced off to find her dad and Rilhea. They were standing by a large oak tree. After they met up and muttered something quickly, they waited. Soon afterwards, the fillies’ mother trotted up to them, out of breath. Before she could say anything, Rilhea opened her mouth.
Just a bit further, Mom. You’ll make it, we promise.” She looked around at her family, then started off. Soon enough they arrived at their destination.

The sky now sparkled with stars, and the wind was silent. The lake, the fillies’ mom’s favorite place, was glowing in the moonlight. A small gasp escaped their mother’s mouth at the beautiful sight. The trees all around were steady, and no others were around. The fillies exchanged glances and smiled. They knew, after this, their mother would feel a whole lot better.
Because of the sibling’s small gesture of love, their mother took it to heart to get well as soon as possible. The next day she was running about with her mate and fillies. Whenever they looked upon that day, and remembered it, as a memory, they referred to it as “Mother’s Day.” As it was, the day was devoted to their mother, wishing for her to get better, and not feel so… ugly.

Iva stretched out her wings, looking over at her mate and two daughters. They were darlings, and it didn't take long for the youngest, Shea, to notice that she was watching them. The foal skipped over to where she was standing, and immediately burst into questions that she seemed to have been waiting to ask.

"How come sister and I don't have wings, Mama? Aren't all girls supposed to look alike? Are we broken?"

The mare smiled down at her daughter. "Of course you're not broken, ma fille. It just happens to be that you took after your Papa, instead of gaining my wings. And wouldn't it be strange if we all looked alike?"

"I guess so Mama, but doesn't that make you feel out of place, being the only one with wings?"

"Not really, since I'm not really the only one with wings. There are all sorts of different soquili's in the world."

"Really? What kinds are there?"

"Well, there are the regular soquili, which are like you, Tayce, and your Papa. There are Wind soquili's that have wings like mine, and..." She would have gone on, explaining more about the different breeds, but she noticed that the little one had already scampered away, chasing after a butterfly.

One of your daughters questions you as to why she hadn't been born with wings like you. What do you tell her? How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself?
Mother: Zhivya
Daughter: Efrya

Zhivya walks up to her daughters, her tail softly wagging back and forth. She had two such LOVELY daughters, even if they couldn't fly. She beamed at them, then tilts her head as Efrya looks up at her with a curious look. "Yes, my darling one?" Zhivya asks her, her long tail flickering slowly. She was sure a difficult question was in the offing, but she was also sure that she could handle it. She'd never had an issue yet.
Efrya pauses, then, slowly, and nervously, says "Mama... Why do you have wings... and my sister and me don't?" She looked down, then blurted out "I've seen you fly, and I don't know why we can't! Or Daddy can't! we're like him more then you, how does that happen? I don't understand!" She stomps her hoof a little, to emphasize her point of confusion.
Zhivya pauses, startled. This was a harder question then she had expected, for sure! She thinks hard, then finally says "Well. That's a complicated set of questions for me. But I'll see if I can make it clear. Lay down with me, sweetheart, and we'll talk." She kneels onto her forelegs, then lowers her back ones, and shifts as she gets comfortable, then waits as her darling Efrya does so as well.
When they were both settled, Zhivya took a deep breath. "I think I will start with why Daddy can't. Daddy is a normal Soquili, my precious. But there are many kinds. I, for one, am a Wind Soquili, and that is why I have feathered wings. There are many others. There are Unis, mers, kelpies, Flutters, and many, many other kinds. We can all breed with each other, but... it's chance, as to how the foal or foals will come out. Some breeds are less likely to breed with others, for various reasons, then other breeds.
As for you and your sister, well Daddy and I met, fell in love... and had two beautiful children. When born, you both took after your father."
She paused for a breath, and Efrya burst out with "But why?!? Couldn't you CHOOSE to make us have wings too? I mean... you get to choose, don't you? And so why didn't you?"
Zhivya laughed, softly, but sadly. "No, my precious. We don't get to choose. If I could have a choice, I would have made you and your sister with wings, so that you could soar the skies with me. As it is, fate chose to have you and your sister be ground bound, so as to have you run like the wind with your father. Are you so sad, then, to be like your father?" At her last words, her face looked worried. She wanted her darling children happy!
Efrya thinks, and then finally says "No. I'm not so sad. I just... I didn't understand. I guess, now, I do... But I have on last question, Mama."
Zhivya looks very relieved and says "Go ahead, I'll see if I can explain!"
Efrya tilts her head, and says "Mama, how are babies made?"
Zhivya pauses, then, after a long moment says "Well that... I think we should leave for another day, my sweet. For now... let us have a nap."

FOAL PROMPT

Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up?

Trying for Number 2
-----------------------------
Riome looked at her mother awkwardly. She usually wasn’t like this. She just seemed so upset today, sighing and quiet. Usually, she would be up and around with her father, taking care of her and her sister. But today…she just seemed so sad, and drained of all her energy.

“Mama, what’s wrong?” Riome asked, nuzzling her mother’s nose.

Nelza sighed, looking at her daughter. “Nothing, dear. Mommy just feels…a bit sick today, is all.”

“All right, Momma…” Riome sighed, giving another nuzzle, and walking off to find Emoir. Emoir was practically a grown up, so she should know what to do.

“Heck, I don’t know, Riome! Just let Mom deal with whatever she’s dealing with.”

“But Emoir! Momma needs us to make her better! Daddy’s gone with the other Stallions, racing or something. C’mon!”

“No, Riome.”

“You stink, Emoir!” Riome cried, tearing up and sticking her tongue out at her sister, then running to a secluded meadow near the human village. After crying for what seemed to be hours, she stopped, hearing the footfalls of another horse.

“What do you want, Emoir?” Riome asked angrily, glaring at her sister with her bloodshot eyes.

“I wanna help you with cheering up Mom. I’m sorry for being so mean to you.”

“It’s alright. Thanks.” Riome nuzzled her sister, and proceeded to look around the meadow.
“Now, any ideas as to what we can do for Mommy?”

“Mommy likes Flowers, right?” Emoir asked.

“She does…I know! Let’s get a buncha flowers, and give ‘em to Mommy!” Riome beamed with pride, liking her idea.

“That’s…actually a good idea! Let’s get to work!” Emoir chirped, prancing off to find some flowers.

“Hey, wait up!” Called Riome, prancing off after her.

They found colors of many shapes, sizes, and colors. Poppies, Daisies, Sunflowers, Lilies, and Roses, all of them were beautiful.

“Momma will love these!” Emoir squeaked with excitement.

Riome, on the other hand, said nothing, and cried softly.

“Aww, what’s wrong?” Emoir asked, walking over to her sister.

“Momma…I miss her.”

“We’ve only been gone for a few hours!”

“But Mommas are the most important things in the world! We can survive without Daddies, but not without Mommas! And Momma is sad right now, and Daddy is gone! Why?” She cried, sniffing and coughing.

“Oh Riome…” Came a different voice, soft and soothing. It was their mother’s voice. “You didn’t have to worry so much about me, I’m just missing your father, is all.” She said, not noticing the flower bundles and flower wreath that had been made for her. Right now, she only cared for her little girl, who was crying because she was hurting.

“But Momma…I don’t like it when you’re sad, and lonely.” Riome sniffed, getting up. “I hate seeing you depressed.” She said, nuzzling her mother’s side.

“I know, dear, I know.” She said, nuzzling her back. She smelt the flowers on her daughter for the first time, and noticed them with joy.

“Oh you two!” She cried, walking over to the flowers. You did this…for me?” She asked, looking at her loving daughters.

“Yeah, we did Mamma. It was all Riome’s idea, I just helped.” Emoir told her mother, nuzzling her.

“I love you two…” Nelza told her daughters, putting a wreath around her neck, and then two smaller ones around her daughters’ necks.

“Come on now, we’re going home.”

Father Prompt.

“Father, let’s play!” her voice comes out sweet and half-lethargic, her head tilted and bowed in earnest.

It is a pristine spring landscape spread out before him, and he does wonder how he has made all the right moves to end up here. But, alas, thoughts like that are never long lived. Instead, he lifts his head, smiling at his girls.

“Don’t wander too far, you two.”

“Oh, but why must we stay here?” the other voice comes, childish to its limit, a small smile gracing her lips.

He shakes his head, immaculate mane spreading out before him, a sleeping mare behind him, her limbs pressed to the ground beneath her.

“Because we should stay with mother. Remember, love is the best medicine,” he laughs, moving closer to nuzzle the closest one, playfully blowing a stray piece of hair falling in front of his eyes.

The light drifts in beautifully and he wonders how he can possibly love anyone else, everyone beside him like this.

The girls stand for a moment, still, with no direction or understanding, but slowly their eyes fill with light and he fancies they can see a piece of what he can see, except more beautiful.

“Father, let’s play,” she says again, but this time softer, sweeter, in consideration to her mother, asleep, behind them.

And then everything clicks together inside of him, and he realizes that there might be hope after all- hope that he can change, hope that he can protect his children, after all, raise them right and raise them beautiful.

“Father, we will be waiting, okay?” the other says, standing up to exit to the small plain outside, not far, never too far from home.

And before he can say another word, she looks back, a small smile running the length of her countenance, radiant as the sunshine steeping in from the roof.

The meaning is not lost on him.

Foal Prompt
Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up?

Notes: I am trying for foal #1
Mother: Tsu
Foal 1: Asetha
Foal 2: Dova

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Asetha and Dova giggled with each other as went to see their mother. Asetha was the first to look up and noticed the distant and glassy-eyed look that played within her mothers eyes as she laid in the grass. Becoming concerned, Asetha quickly ran to her mother and leaned down to nuzzle her softly as Dova followed behind her sister questioningly.
"Mommy...are you okay?" Asetha inquired softly, not wanting to speak to loudly just in case something was actually wrong.
A giggle was heard from Dova as she stood a few feet away, not even the slightest bit worried. She only wanted to keep playing. "Mom's fine, As. She's probably just daydreaming."
"You're wrong!" Asetha said loudly, being very mad at her sister. She cold tell something was wrong and she wasn't going to leave until she knew and until she tried to make it better.
"Shhh, quiet little one," Tsu said softly as she raised her head and nuzzled Asetha softly. "I just have a bit of a headache, that's all. I just need some peace and quiet so I can rest."
Asetha looked up at Dova and saw that her expression had changed from a playful one to a concerned one. Getting up, she went over to her sister before turning back to her mother. "Mommy, get some rest. Dova and I will leave so it will be quiet."
"Thank you, girls," was all that Tsu said before she laid her head down and closed her eyes for some more rest.
Seeing that their mother was resting, Asetha wordlessly motioned for Dova to follow her. Dova nodded as Asetha started walking away in the direction of a small lake that was nearby. Once they were out of earshot, Dova sighed.
"As, where are we going? Shouldn't we be staying with mom to take care of her?" Dova's normally loud voice rang out only for Asetha to shake her head.
"No, Dova, we're getting mommy a present to cheer her up." Asetha's voice was soft in contrast to her sister, which made it very easy to tell who was coming before they wer spotted.
Finally reaching the lake, Asetha stepped into the lake and started to kick around at the mud-like sand, staring intently through the not murky water to find something unknown to her sister. Not wanting to get wet, Dova stood at the edge of the lake, watching her sister curiously. After a few minutes, Asetha smiled brightly and kicked two objects onto the dry sand about a foot out of the water, getting Dova a bit wet in the process.
"What was that for?" Dova shouted before seeing the two large shiny seashells that sparkled in the sunlight. "Oh! Mom loves seashells so she is going to love these!"
Walking out of the water, Asetha smiled proudly. "Of course she will! This has to cheer her up!"
Asetha and Dova each picked up a seashell before running back to their mother eagerly. They hated seeing their mother sick or unhappy, so they wanted to make her feel better quickly. As they reached their mother, they slowed down to a walking pace then placed the shells down in front of their mother before Asetha nuzzled her awake.
"Mommy, Dova and I got you a present to help cheer you up!" Asetha's voice rang out a little louder than normal since she was so excited.
Looking up, Tsu saw the two shiny seashells that were laying in the grass. She smiled and gazed lovingly at her daughters, thinking about how lucky she was to have two wonderful daughters that cared so much for her. "Girls, they're beautiful. Thank you." She smiled brightly at her daughters as they laid down on either side of her, Dova falling asleep quickly.
"Mommy," Asetha asked softly, almost whispering, as she laid her head down, "are you feeling better now that Dova and I got you that present?"
Tsu nuzzled her daughter and gave her a comforting smile. "Yes, I feel much better now." These words were the last thing Asetha heard before she fell asleep beside her mother.
Father Prompt
You've been very blessed throughout your life, especially in regards to your family, which consists of a loving mate and two beautiful daughters.
Your mate is currently feeling under the weather, so you've taken on the responsibility of looking after your two daughters. Where do you take them? What do you talk to them about? Do you try to teach them a life lesson, or do you play around?
Father: Raviv
Mother: Fayola
Foal 1: Taipa
Foal 2: Taini
-------------------------------------------------------
The weather had been cold and cloudy for a few days now, it was a relief to see the sun rising over the distant hilltops. Raviv walked out from the protection of the giant willow he called home and took in a deep breath of fresh air.
It wasn't long before his children, to beautiful daughters named Taipa and Taini, were by his side. They immediately began playing, tugging on each other's manes and tails in a game of tag. Raviv smiled at them, and commanded softly, " Stay close, children. We would hate to loose you to a kalona." Taipa stopped for a moment to roll her eyes at her father, she knew the kalona was just a legend. " Yes, daddy!" The girls said in unison before continuing their game.
Raviv looked around for sight of his mate, noticing that she had not risen with the family. Black ears perked up at the snuffle and groan and he moved back under the tree to find his mate, Fayola. The mare eyes were closed, her nose appeared to be running and her over all appearance looked drab. She must have noticed his presence, because she slowly raised her head to look at him through half-closed watery eyes. She didn't have to say anything, Raviv smiled at her, nuzzling his mate. " Rest, my love. I'll take the children down to the river. It looks like it will be a warm day." . Fayola placed her head back on the ground and drifted to sleep.
The stallion stepped back out, finding his two children still at there game of tag. He grinned, and braced himself. " Hey kids! Last one to the river is a rotten egg!" Both fillies froze and stared at him, and took off down the well known pathway toward the river's edge. Raviv galloped to keep up with them, passing them. " No fair, Dad!" Taini giggled and pushed harder, keeping pace with her sister.
Raviv slowed to a trot, to give his daughters a chance. His front hooves barely splashed into the cool river, when he was suddenly tackled to the ground by two giggling bundles. He laughed heartedly, kicking his rear legs carefully and softly nipping them. Raviv was finally allowed to stand, heaving for breath and giving a soft shake of his head. Water dripped from his body and he kicked a hoof out to send water splashing over his two daughters.
He decided to let them play in the water, slowly walking to the shore before Taipia yanked on his tail. " TAG!" she yelled and again both girls giggled. For the rest of the evening, the father and the two gems of his life played tag, went for a swim and watched wildlife before heading back to tell the tales to their sick mother.
