i've seen some funny comments abound
mizsweet- if avatar were an ANIME, zutara would be canon
i reject your reality and substitute my own
and more, but i am too sleepy to think about them.
i kinda feel like this should be an aaa meeting:
i am 23, and i want to sulk like a 13 year old.

I'll sulk like a kid. Truthfully, I'd rather there be no canon couple that has always how I have wanted the series to end.

If the series had ended with a huge penguin sledding competition it would have been declared....

Now though, I'm going to be bitter over the fact that Ozai gets to live and Jet got the shaft... The injustice of it all! Even badass Zhao got a good death. Ozai's fate does not bode well for the future.

Now though, I'm going to be bitter over the fact that Ozai gets to live and Jet got the shaft... The injustice of it all! Even badass Zhao got a good death. Ozai's fate does not bode well for the future.
Jet was awesome.
And taking his bending from him will TOTALLY stop Ozai from being a power hungry tyrant. rolleyes

yeah, that's how i feel about it to. all that potential, just wasted. i hadn't watched a nick show for YEARS, and i thought this one was different. oh to have the wool pulled over my eyes. i am so freaking mad about bryke stringing us along. in fact, i am madder about that then zutara not canoning. ******** them, they can have their cheesy, immature, and bland couples. if this is truly what has come of atla, then i want no part of it. i do not like being strung along. i do not like being played. bryke had the power long ago, back when zutara fans started to unite in season one, to squash it. they could have said back then that zutara stood no chance, and the fandom would have lived. us zutarians, well not happy with the decision, would have finished watching season 1 with no real hope of our ship being canon. i know we all would have respected their decision, if it was known back then. but after three seasons of wonderful symbolism and tension, and truly an EPIC ending potential, they pander to 5 year olds. oh yeah, and they don't "engage in fanservice". you know how many times i have ******** seen that sentence. too many! "or will katara have a more fiery romance" - bull ******** s**t. finale trailer- yeah like that was concocted to pull one over on us. atla is just so ... tainted.... for me now. i'll probably watch the finale, you know, as trishna said, for closure. but i know i won't watch any other projects from the atla universe. apparently their will be a sequel to the show, one set in the atla universe but not with these particular characters. yeah so not watching that. the movies- i will only watch them when they come on tv... and not being aired on nick. i am definitely engaging in a total nick boycott after atla's finale. i am sure as hell not buying any atla products. its just so... asinine... to piss off half your fandom. even people who don't ship zutara hate the ending. zutarians in particular are older... so which demographic would i want to make happy... you know, since i want to make money and our demographic holds jobs. the ending is full of EPIC SUCK. i know i won't be like "OMG SQUEEL" when the new episodes come out. and what's truly sad is that this guild is going to go down hill fast. if people are like me, they are so pissed and sick of this show, so why stay here and discuss it? there are so many nice people here, it breaks my heart. i'm just so crushed.

My Rant (Highlight and READ):
Well, I dunno guys. I beginning to think that the comic isn't the real ending. And why? I'll tell you.
First of all, what about all the Zutara foreshadowing? Just a conicidence? They have the same dialogue, for crying out loud! Hello? Remember all the examples of yin and yang, the subtle hints? What were those for? For fun?
Let's face it. Katara has never openly expressed feelings for Aang. So, when she suddenly walks over to Aang and kisses him, it makes no sense. It's just... random.
Let's also remember something Mike and Brian said in the interview.
"So when he loses them in order to save Toph, it really feels like a sacrifice. And in an epic finale, it's more satisfying when the characters have to sacrifice something in order to achieve their goals."
Okay. If I were them, I wouldn't make such a big deal about losing a boomerang. Why the big deal about characters sacrificing your dreams to achieve your goals? Doesn't this sound a bit like Aang letting Katara go? Speaking of that... what is up with no Avatar state? Hello? The boxed set had Aang in the Avatar state. There was such a big deal about it, and in order to go into the Avatar state, he needed to let go of his earthly attachment. (Katara).
Remember a while back in the DOBS commentary when Bryke stood up for Zutara? Well, look back to the interview. They sounded like they were completely shutting us down. What happened to Zutarians betting fierce and tenacious and passionate? That didn't sound anything like them. I'm beginning to wonder if they actually meant that.
The book also didn't explain anything about URSA, the WHITE LOTUS, and the IMPORTANT STUFF WE WERE EXPECTING TO LEARN ABOUT. That alone can tell us that the book skimped over details. Did I also mention that the book sounded like a crappy fan fic?
We still have a chance. Though the Triumvirate have given up, we can still be strong. We will never know what is canon and what isn't until the episodes air. So for now, I'd say don't trust the book... yet. I know I'm not, though I still fear for Zutara. We can't give up this easily. We just can't. Though, we can't say that the book isn't real yet. It would make us look foolish if it actually was canon. But, if it is just a trick, then we'll know that we stayed through in this war until the end.
I'm not believing anything until the episodes air. Who is with me?

I'm not telling you that you're wrong... just don't set yourself up for huge disappointment.

I seem to be in the same boat. As much as I want to believe, I just can't. I can't deal with having my hopes up, then find out we are wrong.. again. I just can't do it. I applaud your optimism too. It's very brave. And I'm sorry I can't be brave with you....
