"Don't be silly, Carmine. How would they know we were coming?" His ears perked forward, stopping at the very back of the teepee now. Listening for any sound of movement or two legger talk. In which he heard none.
Turning to look at her, his green eyes intense. His own tummy making rumbly grumbly noises as well. "If your too scared just go hide in those trees over there and wait fer me, kay? I'll bring ya some apples no problem. It'd probably be better if one of us only went anyway." Lucky wasn't ready yet to give up on getting a couple apples. And if he ran into some two leggers who decided to come home well....he was pretty sure he could out run them anyway. Four legs were better than two, right?

"How would I know...?" She grumbled not liking being called silly for what felt like a legitimate concern. If it was a trap they were walking straight into it. "And I ain't scared!" She said a little bit too loudly. Her ears flicked back and she looked about nervously wondering if anyone had heard. She didn't like having her guts questioned. "S'just better to be prepared is all..." She continued in a whisper.
"I'm goin with you...I'm the thief after all. Wouldn't be good for me to sit back and have you do all the work." With a flick of her short bob of her tail and a quick nod of her head she crept closer to the teepee. It was true that she wasn't scared but she was a bit nervous. This was her first time stealing from two-leggers after all and she had heard some pretty awful stories from her dad.

He made a face at her little outburst. Head lifting up as he scanned the area around them. Listening closely to any sounds of someone coming if they had heard her. Once satisfied, he lowered his head once more. Lucky understood her concern, but really, he wasn't all that worried.
The colt shrugged. If she wanted to come with him he wouldn't stop her. But he also didn't want her gettin' skittish and kind of spoiling the plot just cause she has the jitters of two leggers catching them. "Suit yourself. But don't say I didn't give you the option of hangin' back." Quietly, he crept around the side of the teepee. Keeping close, his side rubbing up against the soft animal skin that it was made out of. It actually felt kind of nice.
Lucky poked a nose around the...corner....eyes scanning the little camp quickly. The sound of the front flap, flapping in the breeze caused his ears to perk as he froze in place for a second. Almost half expecting a two legger to come tumbling out. But after what seemed forever nothing came and he quickly made his way inside. Careful not to step or trip on anything on his way in.

Carmine stuck her tongue out at him the moment he moved away. She didn't need the option of hanging back. So what if she was a little scared about getting caught, everyone got scared about something. She was afraid of her career as a thief coming to an early end. Pulling her tongue back into her mouth she watched as her partner vanished from sight and she could only assume he had made it safely inside. She smiled a bit when she realized she hadn't heard him enter, Lucky may just be her muscle but he had the makings of a good thief.
She shook her head a bit and followed closely after her friend keeping a little further away from the skin to keep it from making noise against her wings. Once she came to the front of the teepee she shrank a bit closer to the side. If any two-leggers came they would probably show up in the front first but it looked as though the coast was indeed clear and she followed Lucky into the humans' home.
She grinned looking around. It almost felt like home for her. Almost. She hadn't been inside a teepee since she had broken out of her basket but it felt familiar in a way. "So...just apples or can I pick something extra up too?" She asked quietly. True she was the boss but Lucky seemed to know what he was doing better then she did right now.

By now Lucky had already started to sniff through baskets and skin bags trying to find the apples. He knew they'd be in one of these containers. Two leggers didn't normally just let their food sit out to let bugs get in it. Though they did have a nasty habit of putting tight lids on things or tieing things up with strings.
Pulling his head out from beneath a pile of what seemed to be skin blankets, green eyes locked on Carmine who seemed to have finally decided to join him inside. Looking about, he hadn't taken the time to look at the things around him. Or at least with a close eye anyway.. He was on a mission. Giving a little shrug he went back to pulling lids off of some small baskets. "Sure, go ahead. I'm sure they won't miss a few little things."

She grinned and trotted over to join Lucky in the searching. Of course while he was searching for their food she would be looking for something shiny. Lucky was smart, he could find a few apples on his onesies. "Alright, lemme know when you find the food and we'll beat it..." She side quietly before making her way to a basket to begin her search.
The first one she came to was closed tightly and she didn't want to bother breaking things. She wasn't sure how good humans were at tracking thieves but on the off chance that they were good she wanted them to stay in the dark as long as they could. She moved to the next basket and easily knocked the lid off this one. Eagerly she poked her nose inside and snorted in surprise. "Great." She said with mixed emotions peering down into the basket. "I think I found the apples....but they don't look so hot..." She said eying the fruit. It didn't look fresh, more like it had been sitting in wait for the last few months.

His ears perked and Lucky quickly lifted his head out of the basket he had been sniffing around in. A strangly colored cloth nearly wrapped around his head. Trotting over, he peered into the basket. Eyebrows furrowing as he spotted the spoiled fruit with a frown. "Well, thats no good. Dunno why a two-legger would keep nasty apples like that around." Giving a good shake of his head, the colored cloth went flying across the teepee. He watched it for a moment before turning his attention to a pair of baskets he had yet to inspect.
"Ya know, you'd think two-leggers would keep better care of their apples. I don't know anyone who'd let apples go to waste like that." Lucky was a bit dissapointed. What if that was the only basket with apples in it? Rotten apples were just--yuck! And they had gone to so much work to sneak into this two-leggers home to! It would really suck if all that work just went to waste. A little frustrated, the colt kicked at one of the un-examined baskets. Knocking it over, the lid came off. But he didn't really feel much like examining the contents that had spilled out.

"Maybe they're big time grumpy butts and keep em to throw at people..." She said trying to hide her disappointment. She couldn't figure out two-leggers. She figured there had to be some good reason for having apples like that but for the life of her she didn't know what it truly was. She gave Lucky an odd look when he kicked the basket, he was taking it worse then she was it seemed. Her stomach growled. She wanted food and not rotting food.
Carmine looked over at the spilled basket curiously. What looked like cloth had spilled out. She side and made her way over to straighten it out. She didn't want the two-leggers to know they had been there. After a few minutes of struggling with it she managed to set it back up. She deposited the few pieces of cloth that had fallen out back inside but decided against trying to get the lid back up. She didn't want to risk knocking it over again.
"There's one more basket Lucky...let's check that one an' get outta here." She said not liking how things were turning out. Her dad had always told her that not every place had something to get but she hadn't wanted to believe him. It was starting to seem true though.

"Maybe. That would be a pretty good reason. I know I wouldn't want to get hit with a rotten apple. Who knows how long it would take to get the stink out." Lucky didn't like being hungry. And once he had his mind set on food disappointment wasn't something he wanted or even looked forward to. Of course, it would be the same with everybody one would guess. Thinking about those apples, stomach rumbling, having the proposition of getting some apples and then no apples being found really brought a guy down!
He watched her casually as she decided to straighten up the basket he had kicked over. The colt figured she did it so it seemed like no one had really been in here. Though it might be kind of hard not to tell what with the dirty little hoof prints all about. But he wouldn't mention to those. She might spend the whole afternoon trying to fix things up. And by then he'd be dying from starvation.
His gaze turned to the last basket for a second. "You check it. I'm not sure I can handle anymore disappointment from the lack of apples. Shoot, I'd probably eat a bunch of milk weed by now I'm so hungry!"

Carmine didn't know what milk weed was but from the sound of it Lucky didn't like it so she made a face. She looked over at the last basket almost as though it were about to explode. She wasn't sure she even wanted to open it. This teepee had been full of nothing good so far and she really didn't want to make the day worse.
Her stomach rumbled again and against her better judgement she marched over and knocked the lid off. She squeezed her eye shut and poked her head over the rim afraid of what she may find. She slowly opened one eye and smiled. "You can eat your milk weed Lucky...I'mma havin' and apple." She said shortly before snatching up one of the red fruits from the basket.
She stepped away and grinned at her partner from behind the apple before biting all the way through it. She suddenly had an idea about what that other basket of rotten food was for. "Ya think they were tryin to trick people into thinkin' they had no food?" She asked her mouth half full or apple.

Lucky's ears and spirit perked up as Carmine mentioned apples and pulled one out of the basket. His eyes lit up before he shoved his nose into the basket as well. Pulling out a nice big one. Taking a bite, he let it drop to the ground before picking it up and taking another. Gods it was so good. So sweet and tasty.
He gorged on that one apple before even saying a thing. He had just been so hungry and all this searchin' through baskets with nothing but dissapointment did nothing but make him hungrier.
Biting through the core, he ate the apple whole. No need to waste really. Or leave any evidence behind. After finishing it off, a wide grin spread across his face. "Good work, Carmine!" Looking off at the other basket which held the rotten apples, he quirked an eyebrow. "Probably. I know I'd probably do the same if I didn't want people takin' my apples."

She nearly started laughing through her food when she saw evidence for just how hungry Lucky was. Grinning from ear to ear she took another bite out of her apple, then another and another until it was completely gone. "Thank you, thank you." She said bowing a bit. "But...you get some credit to, you found the place." She straightened up and looked around. Her excitement over finding the apples had made her forget that they had to be quite.
"We should probably get outta here..." She muttered eying the flap like she expected a human to burst through any second now, truth be told she kinda did. "But first...let's take some of these to go..." Peering around once more she spotted a pouch that resembled the one her father had taken from his friend's two-legger. It wasn't very pretty, just a brown hide sack, but it would work for carrying things. She snatched it up and brought it over to the apple basket.
"We can fill this up now...and then eat 'em later."

His grin grew to match hers as he giggled lightly at her bowing. "Lets just say we both get equal credit then. We make a pretty good team thats for sure." Flicking his tail about, the apple had rejuvinated his energy. Now that he wasn't so desperatly hungry as he was, he felt like a brand new colt right out of the basket.
Lucky walked over towards the flap of the teepee, sniffing at it before peering out through the small opening it created. Just to make sure. But he didn't see anyone out there. No Soquili, no two leggers. But she was right. They had probably stuck around here too long and whatever two legger who lived here was sure to be back soon. He turned his head to glance back at her, just in time to watch her snag a brown sack. "Good idea. Incase we get hungry later and want apples again we won't hafta come back. I doubt we'd be able to get back in anyway. The two leggers would probably be here."

She nodded in agreement dropping the sack on the ground. "The best team ever. So good we ain't ever gonna get caught!" With that said she nudged the bag open and started grabbing apples out of the basket to fill it. As she worked she could feel it getting warmer inside that meant it was getting later and that meant that she needed to be on the lookout for her dad now. "Yeah. I figure we'll split them in half...though I don't know who's gonna get the bag..."She said muttering the last bit. She didn't really want to think about it but she got the feeling her time out adventuring with Lucky was going to be cut short.
Not wanting to think about she put her full attention on the present conversation. "And even if we had to come back and the two-leggers were here we could take em...unless of course they pulled out the stinky apples."

"Haha! Yep!" Lucky wiggled his nose back outside. Eyes glancing up towards the sky as he watched the sun start to head towards its resting place. Hues of pinks, reds and purples filling the sky. It seemed it was starting to get later, man how time flyed when you were having fun! He hadn't even noticed the change in the day.
Turning his head back, he shrugged. "How bout you hold onto them apples until we meet up again? That way we got somethin' to eat next time. Its gettin' pretty late and as much as I dun' wanna I gotta start headin' home." Frowning lightly, he seriously didn't want to go. But his dad would come searching for him soon and that would be quite emberassing to be dragged off by the larger stallion in front of his friend. Lucky thought he was pretty strong and could take on anything, but he knew there weren't many stronger than his own father.
Wiggling his body out of the teepee, the colt stretched his legs one at a time. These homes just seemed a bit too cramped for his style. Turning around he waited for Carmine. She probably had to start heading home soon as well. He didn't want to just run off leaving her there holding the bag. He figured he'd walk a little ways with her away from the two legger camp and then take off.
