((Sorry I haven't posted in ages, I've been busy with uni! Bleck!))
Ruth stared off into space for a while, then shook herself and looked back at the bartender. "'Ave yer ever seen th' likes o' 'im around afore?"

He glanced up from the bar, and thought a moment. "I'd heard of someone going 'round dressed as a bat but I'd never seen him before today."
((Ah, it's all good. I've been a little busy myself and should probably be doing other stuff right now as a matter of fact. Oh well.))

The barman was silent a moment. "Aye," he said finally, his tone strange. "I've heard of that bloke as well." A curious little smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, but only for a brief second-- perhaps it had never even been there at all.

Ruth sat silently for a few more minutes, then sat up and turned to the bartender grinning. "Th' world'll look cleara through th' bo'om o' a rum glass, can I 'ave anotha then? Yeh can 'ave one too, on me if yer like"

Ruth drank then placed the glass down, watching the bartender drink for a moment before speaking. "I can' recall if I asked yer this afore, bu' wha' sor'a folk you ge' in 'ere?"

((Meh, it's all good. I've kinda been busy anyway. sweatdrop ))
He moved a little closer to her, wondering how long it would take the substance he put in her ale to take effect. He had no fear that anyone would witness her go unconscious as they were the only two people in the bar, and it shouldn't take more than a minute or so for Ruth to pass out at that. "Well, miss, we get all sorts o' folks in here," he answered. "Usually it just be common people, you know, but sometimes... well, we'll get types like that 'Batman' fellow."

"'E seemed strange ter me, 'e did" said Ruth, her words slurring slightly. Had she had too much to drink? No, she thought, she could drink rum with the best. "I wonder where 'e came from. An' yer say there're otha types like 'im?" Ruth's vision began to feather at the edges and her eyes began to cross. She gave her head a little shake, trying to clear it.
