Itomaru nodded as he stepped out of the pond, and then shook the water off. "I'll go collect some," he said as he finished drying, and looked at Zinnia. "Would you like to come with me to look for some good wood, or would you like to find some flint or something to light them with?"

"I think I'll go with you and find some good wood. Maybe along the way we can find something to start the fire," replied Zinnia. She wasn't sure where exactly she would be able to find some flint, but she figured that maybe a couple of course rocks might be able to do the trick.

Itomaru nodded to acknowledge that he had heard Zinnia, and began to search the ground for some choice sticks. Not too damp, not too small, and not too thin. He ended up with about 4 of them before he turned to see how Zinnia was doing.

Zinnia had picked up about 3 good sticks of firewood by the time Itomaru looked at her, and was looking for at least of 4th. She wasn't sure how much firewood was needed, but a few good sticks should probably do the trick. She looked over at Itomaru, the familiar sensation of being watched coming over her again, and saw that he was looking at her. "I think we have a good amount of firewood. What do you think?"

Itomaru smiled back at Zinnia, impressed by how many sticks she had. "Yes, I think this will do quite nicely," he replied as he began to walk back towards her, and then with her back to the lake. He set them in a pile before beginning to look around for something flammable. His ears twitched as he saw something shine, and then looked down to find a black rock. He picked it up, and hurried over to where the sticks were, showing it to Zinnia as he huffed, "I think I found something to light the fire!"

"Really?" replied Zinnia after setting her sticks down upon the pile. She then walked over and got a closer look at it. When she got a good look at it she was genuinely surprised. She didn't expect to find some of that out here. "It's flint," she commented happily. "I wasn't expecting some flint to be out here. What luck!" She then looked around to find something to scrape against it, quickly finding a good sized rock. Holding up the second rock, she said, "Now we can make a fire no problem."

Itomaru smiled proudly as Zinnia saw the flint, and he took the second rock from her. He kneeled down next to the sticks, and began to hit the rocks together. Small sparks came out from between them as they collided, and eventually a small stream of smoke began to foat from the sticks. "I think we got a spark!" he said as he began to flap some air into the ticks, causing them to light into flames within a few seconds.

Zinnia smiled at the fire, watching the flames dance about for a few moments. She then pulled her gaze from the fire and grabbed a couple of small yet sturdy sticks that they had passed up for firewood. Recalling how fish was cooked in all the anime shows she had ever seen, she handed a stick to Itomaru and stuck the stick into her own fish through the mouth. "This'll make them easier to cook without burning ourselves," she commented, just to have something to say.

"Thank you, Miss Zinnia," Itomaru said as he took the stick and placed it in his fish's mouth. He stuck the fish in the flames, and watched them lick the scales and change their color. "This is a very helpful idea," he commented back to Zinnia as the scales became darker, and the flames began to die down slightly.

"You're welcome. I actually got the idea from an anime," Zinnia added. She wasn't entirely sure why she mentioned it, considering that Itomaru's probably never seen an anime (judging from his lifestyle as she knew it), but it just sort of came out. Who knows? Maybe they'll start a discussion from it as they waited for the fish to be fully cooked.

Itomaru cocked his head slightly at he looked at Zinnia confusedly. "An anime? I don't believe I know what anime is, could you perhaps explain it to me?" he questioned as he tried to figure out what she had meant. In the background, the sky was beginning to lighten up to a pale navy, and the slightest tint of orange could be seen on the dark clouds.

"Well, an anme is a type of television show that is made in Japan. It's a sequence of drawings, consisting of who knows how many drawings, that is put together and synchronized with voice acting and music. At least that's how I think it's made. Not sure if it's still drawn anymore or if they've computerized it." Seeing that it was done, she drew her fish out of the fire and blew on it a bit before taking a bit. "This is good." She glanced up toward the sky, noticing that it had grown lighter. "Looks like sunrise is almost here."

Itomaru nodded as he listened to Zinnia speak, and then followed her in taking the fish out of the fire. Instead of blowing it of though, he simply took a bite of of the slightly charred skin. He looked to where she looked, and swallowed before saying, "It does appear that sunrise is approaching... I'll have to leave when it comes."

"Yeah," Zinnia nodded as she heard the news. She knew that he'd be leaving when the sun came up, being a vampire and all, but for some reason the night seemed awfully short. Having fun sure does make time fly. "It kinda snuck up on us," she commented lightly, smiling. "I'll probably have to head off to bed myself." She nearly yawned as she thought about it. She'd been up for quite a while, and in the midst of all the fun she hadn't noticed. She took the last few bites from her fish and asked, "So are we heading off toward your tree?"

Itomaru finished eating the rest of his fish before tossing the stick to the ground and swallowing. He warily looked atthe sky againbefore returning his gaze to Zinnia. "It does seem like it's been an awfully short amount of time, doesn't it?" he said as he stood up and stretched a bit before turning to where they had come from. "Yes, lets head back now." He than began walking back to were the trees were thick and where ha had been earlier that night.
