"I'm too clumsy for dance class," Grace admitted, shaking her head. "It'll be utter chaos if they have me try to waltz with a prince. By the end of the week, all of the boys will be nursing their toes." She laughed a little, glad that Amira shared her interest in the princes.

Lord Taite laughed softly at Lady Maybelline's response. He wished she'd smile and be witty a bit more often. He tore his gaze away from the beautiful instructor when she questioned Lady Florizel. It appeared that the orientation was about to begin. As boring as it no doubt was, as a faculty member he felt he should at least try to pay attention and set an example.

"Yes, I think that would be best," Lady Florizel said, allowing herself a smile. Sometimes she let the stress of running the academy get the better of her. But it was only the first day. She nodded at the girl who had entered late briefly. "You are excused for today - but please try to remain punctual from now onward." She stood and tapped her glass with a spoon. "Attention students. Welcome to the Prince and Princess Academy. I am your headmisstress Lady Florizel. These are your teachers..." She went on to list them. "A few teachers are missing. As such, I will fill in for the frog identification instructor, Lord Taite will double as our looking glass class instructor, and Lady Taite will serve as the sewing instuctor. After breakfast" - she nodded toward servants who then began to lay out bread, butter, pastries, eggs, and bacon - "you will receive your schedules and you may unpack your bags in your rooms. Your room assignements will be on your schedules. Princes will find their rooms on the 5th floor, Princesses on the 4th. All students will have one roommate." She continued to go over the school ruiles and then she glanced at the faculty. "Is there anything I've missed?" she asked.

Coralie sent a last nervous smile to the twins before starting off to the teacher's seats. Halfway there, however, the Headmistress stood and began the introduction.

Coralie blushed and bowed her head in thanks before looking around for the twins. After finding them, she hurried to an empty seat near by.

"Thank you," she whispered before listening attentively. After being late, she didn't want to give the impression of being disrespectful as well. Her dark blue eyes went to each of the teachers as they were named.

"Lady Maybelline is very pretty, isn't she?" she mused quietly, forgetting that there were people around who could hear her. The woman's fair skin and hair had attracted her attention, as well as the dove on her shoulder. She loved birds.

The Headmistress finished her speech and Coralie looked on thoughtfully. "A roommate!" she smiled, obviously talking to herself again. "How fun. I wonder if it's like having a sister?" Her gaze fell on the food and she watched it being served with mild interest. She dared not touch anything until she was sure it was proper, so she watched the rest of the students at the table, waiting for them to make the first move.

Damien was brooding.

His aura had grown as dark as his hair, and was weighed down with depression. A roommate. A roommate! he groaned inwardly, scowling. So much for sulking alone. With a drawn out sigh, he watched the food being laid out and grabbed a pastry. He ate silently, alone in his misery.

"I'm good at dance," he said suddenly, continuing Grace's and Amira's conversation. His tone was dull and moping, as he was still lamenting over the roommate issue. "Would you believe that? I, of all people, am good at dance." He laughed bitterly and then promptly shut up, taking a sip of milk.

It was true. He was fairly graceful when the time called for it, though most of the time he had bad posture and a bad attitude. His best subject, however, would have to be Magical Creatures - it was his favourite, the most interesting, and the only one he put considerable effort into.

Lady Maybelline smiled at the students, watching as some gazed in awe at Arabella, who's glistening white feathers seem to catch the light in the oddest ways. She listened to Lady Florizel introduce the teachers, and said nothing when she asked if she had missed anything.

Lady Josephine went silent yet again as Lady Florizel began to speak. She glanced around at the students, hoping to find at least one student who like he or she could prove to be talented in music. With no success, the red-haired Lady turned her attention back to the headmistress.

Wonderful. A roommate, though Maxwell disdainfully to himself. As he sat there, the prince glanced at all the teachers. Lady Maybelline was quite beautiful, and both Lord Taite and Lord Lawley seemed like they might be nice teachers to have. Lord Canis seemed like he'd be a good teacher, but Lady Josephine scared him. Her dark look sent chills up his spine as he sat there. He returned his attention to Lady Florizel as she finished speaking.

Amira laughed at Grace's response. "I'm sure you can't be that bad, although it would be pretty amusing to see the princes like that." She turned as Lady Florizel tapped her spoon against her glass and listened intently as she explained the rules of the academy and everything else the students would need to know. It was sad that the teachers were missing, though. Hopefully those that served as substitutes would still be knowledgeable about the subject, and were kind to all of the students. It would be horrible to have an irritable teacher for two classes on the same day. All of the teachers looked wonderful. Many of the Lords looked handsome, and all of the Ladies looked beautiful. Amira looked over at the food that the servants were carrying out. "The food looks delicious," she commented to Grace. Still, she didn't touch any until the faculty did. After all, they were her superior. Amira had been taught to wait until they were starting to eat, or told to eat. She wondered who her roommate would be, and if they would get along. It would be horrible to be stuck with someone who disliked her, although Amira hoped she would be able to get along with everyone. Being roommates with Grace would be fun, she thought hopefully. "I wonder when we'll get to know who our roommates are," she said, voicing her curiosity to Grace. Then she turned to Damien as he commented on their conversation. Clearly, he was eavesdropping, but she didn't mind. "Looks can be deceiving," she said, not meaning to sound rude, but after she spoke, she realized it could've come off to look that way.

"You're welcome," Aaric said before Lady Florizel began her speech to the students. He listened as he fingered the ends of his coats, clearly bored. Rules were never very interesting, as he sometimes broke them in the first place. Aaric listened as Coralie spoke, not sure if she was talking to herself or to them. "Well, if its anything like having a brother, I'm sure it'll be fun," he said, looking over at Rylan, eyes twinkling with mischief as he thought of what they had done together in the past. "I don't know how sisters are like though." Despite everything, he enjoyed meeting new people. But he wasn't sure about having a roommate. In any case, he hoped he'd get along with the bloke. Otherwise there could be trouble. "I doubt she'll put the two of us together, eh Rylan?" he suggested. Schools usually encouraged making new friends, and he doubted the academy would be any different. If so, they would certainly seperate the two brothers into seperate rooms. Aaric wasn't too peeved though. He figured he'd probably get along with who he was paired with, as long as he wasn't a p***k. A smile crossed his face at the thought of it. Bickering all night long, fighting over pointless things. It would be much more fun to have someone he got along with though. Maybe help him with his schoolwork or something.

Lady Taite watched as Lord Taite used his charms on Lady Maybelline. Ah... He certainly did like to play with ladies minds. She wondered if he was actually interested in her, though. Of course, she was rather beautiful, but Lady Taite wasn't sure if Lord Taite would go for her. She seemed a bit older than her cousin, but wasn't sure if that would bother him at all. She turned as Lord Taite did, listening to Lady Florizel as she spoke to the students. Of course, she had taking the sewing position reluctantly. Lady Taite wasn't the sewing type, although she was very good at it. She could teach the students, but was more excited about her job teaching the boys. Oh well, at least she'd get a chance to socialize with the princesses. "I don't believe so, headmistress," she said, as Lady Florizel finished her speech.

((So sorry everyone! My internet was cut off yesterday not to mention I was up in Orlando for my Grad Nite trip. Sorry!))

Throughout the entire time the outburst had started, Lady Anita sat fidgeting in her chair. On the one hand, she was deathly afraid of spiders, couldn't stand the site of them, but on the other, Lady Anita also couldn't stand the idea of the young lady being so devestated over the loss of a pet, prehaps even a friend. On one side of her was the Head Mistress and the other was Lord Lawley; while both were intimidating, Lady Anita was slightly less nervous around the Lord, as odd as that sounded. Hesitating for only a moment, she leaned over slightly until she was close enough to whisper, though she was still twisting her fingers together in her lap. "What about...letting the creature...stay in the Magical Creatures room? That way it doesn't have to...roam around the school and distract the others and the girl gets to keep her pet?" She bit her lip slightly, wondering if maybe she had overstepped her bounds, before looking down at her lap, wondering what he would say.

Lord Canis finally turned back in his seat to face the rest of the hall, glancing here and there at some of the students. He happened to look just in time to see one of the Princesses make a face at one of the Princes, before gliding to a seat a few chairs down. Though the skirts hid her legs, he could clearly see that she had the inate grace of a girl born to dance. Smiling slightly, he leaned back in his seat, content to see that he had found at least one student that he would be able to be hard on.

To be honest, he wasn't all that bothered by the whole spider incident. If the girl had wanted to keep her pet, she shouldn't have brought the thing here. It was his pesonal belief that one should learn to think things through, especially in these matters. Lord Canis listened carefully as the headmistress spoke, knowing better than to interrupt or to say anything that would make her look bad. When Lady Florizel asked if anyone had anything else to add, Lord Canis stood and cleared his throat. "For the Lady's, when you come to my class the first few times, I'm expecting you to wear one of your lightess gowns in order to move better. After prehaps a month passes, I will be restricting you to ball gowns and the like."

Cassi listened quietly to the conversation between Bella and the other girl whose name she hadn't quite been able to hear. She knew that it was beyond rude to evesdrop, but she couldn't help herself. So when the prince she had made a face at started to eavesdrop as well, Cassi could not help the small grin that lit up her face. Taking a small, folded peice of paper out of her pocket, unable to resist, Cassi stealthly lifted her arm and tossed it at the boys head. She was't quite sure what she was doing, only that prehaps this was her true nature and staying in that stuffy old castle at home had simply hidden this side of her. She knew for a fact that if her mother had seen her do that, she'd have been restricted to her room with nothing to eat for dinner and no guests. Snickering slightly, she leaned back to look at him, wondering how he would reacit.

As Bella listened to the announcement quietly, she heard of every bit of detail. Smiling politely at the introduced teachers. Soon, she heard that they were to have roommates, that she was not really aware of till now. 'Roommates...? I never had one before in my life, never in the castle back home...I was always alone, I wonder if my roommate is friendly?' She thought to herself, but her thoughts were soon broken when the breakfast food was being served. Her hunger was overtaking as she saw all the edible selections in meals. Bella did not eat anything at all this morning. 'So much food...'

She could not help it. In a proper, but hasty manner, she selected her food that was soon on her plate. French toast, buttered toast, grape jellied spread toast, some eggs, and a glass of fresh orange juice. As soon as it was on her plate, she dug in. Using the correct utensils, she cut her piece of french toast, tasting it in her mouth deliciously. 'Its so good...such delicious food...' She thought as she continued her meal. She never really had this kind of meal in a long time. When she was back home, her stepmother put her on a strict diet, non that consist of anything that would really taste so good, just simple meals. For breakfast back in her kingdom for only her, she would have boiled egg for breakfast, clam chowder soup for lunch, and rice with some cooked and vegetables for dinner. Though, now, she was free of that as she was in this academy. She was that hungry as she ate little by little and taking sips of the juice from time to time. She ate happily as she finally had some food to fill her hunger.

Damien stared at Amira for a few moments before answering, trying to figure out if that was an insult or a simple comment. Deciding that it didn't matter, he gazed down at the meal and said "True." He was about to continue when he felt something land in his hair. With a long, resigned sigh he reached up and pulled the thing out. In his pale fingers he held a small piece of folded paper.

His eye twitched as he looked at it blankly. The boy unfolded the square and found nothing written on it. What... he thought to himself, irritated, before catching the glance of the girl who had thrown it. She was the one who had made a face at him earlier, after he had told the gawkers to stop staring.

A slight smirk flashed in his eyes as he raised an eyebrow. Truthfully, he was still in a moping mood, but she had just challenged him and he wasn't about to back down. With a languid, lazy motion he flicked the paper back at the girl and crossed his arms over his chest, watching for her next move. This would probably pass time until the students were released to their dormitories, he figured. Then he would have all the time he wanted to brood and sulk.

Sounds good enough, he decided, giving the girl his unwavering stare.

Cassi grinned as he looked down at the paper and caught the very subtle twtich of his eyebrow. Glancing quickly back down at her lap when he looked over at her, she knew that he had seen her staring. Deciding to do away with the whole abashed act, she turned back to look at him, facing him just in time for the small peice of paper to bump into her nose and fall into her lap. Surprised, she blinked, before grinning again and looking at him from across the table. Taking the small peice of paper, Cassiopeia unfolded it gently only to refold it into a different shape, like a crane. Smiling as she looked down at it, Cassi lifted it up and tossed it over again.

Lukas sat back in his seat comfortably while pulling a strand of his violet hair away from his face as he listened to Lady Florizel's announcement. 'Roommate?' he thought to himself as leaned over and grabbed his drink and sat back again. He didn't mind sharing a roommate with a person, just as long he's not annoying. He took a sip from drink and listened around the conversations around him. 'Princes and Princesses...we all are gonna be rulers one day...' he thought about the idea and was bored with lame idea of ruling. He gave a slight sigh as he placed his drink back onto the table. His amber eyes then just stared across the table as his mind seemed to be focused on a small spot on the wall.

Aurora didn't pay any attention to the prince nearby as she listened at Lady's Florizel's announcement about sharing a room with another princess. The idea thrilled her but the idea then shot down at the thought if she was one of the princesses that fear of Webster. She gave a sighed as she gazed down at Webster. She could see Webster looked up at her with his multiple eyes. She knew that he could understand what was going on. He was no ordinary spider at all. In fact, there was a secret about him that no one knew but her. She figured that everyone must be buzzed about the idea having a spider at the academy but she couldn't just leave him at home alone while she'll be here for who knows how long. Her eyes sadden at the moment and decided to wait on the authorities decision.

Some times Machi wondered why he even tried. He blinked back uncertain of what to respond. Being shouted at confused the young prince who didn't understand a word the princess said.

Fuego to the rescue. The translator saw Machi's bewildered expression and spoke to him in their native tongue which cleared a bit of confusion but not quite all of it. "A friend who I won't give away?" Machi pondered this before speaking aloud. "But I don't want to take her friend away."

"I don't think she was referring to you, but rather to the staff of this institution..." Fuego clarified soundly.

"But why?" It was such an innocent question, but Machi saw nothing wrong with Aurora's friend. But Fuego didn't try to explain this one, knowing the prince would only disagree, and besides, the staff was gathering and beginning to speak. As they did so, Fuego quietly translated what they announced. Upon brooking the subject of having a room mate, that ever bewildered look returned to Machi's features. It was really hard to imagine that this same prince from an hour or two ago looking to all the world like a feral tiger in a cage. "Room...Mate? I did not realize we would be given spouses or be involved in marital matters here..." Machi mused a loud grossly misunderstanding the term.

As usual, Lady Maybelline took only a small cherry pastry and a slice of bread. She delicately ripped off a peice and held it up to her shoulder for Arabella. The bird ate it almost as daintly as her master, ripping off a small peice and eating it. She said nothing as Lady Anita mentioned her room, for spiders did not worry her, nor did she fancy the idea of having an arachnid (sp?) in the same room as her bird.

Damien saw her throw it this time and caught the miniature crane, being careful not to show that he was careful not to crumple it. With strangely gentle fingers, he unfolded the paper and refolded it into a small boat. His hands were nimble but the figure was slightly crude, with creases that didn't always match up and an odd end or two poking out.

Once he had finished, he aimed at the girl's face again and threw it with a slight smirk.

Just barely managing to catch it before it hit her, it tumbled into her lap as it slipped out of her fingers. Though it wasn't prehaps the best looking boat, for a boy it was pretty good. After all, he did have bigger hands than she did. Smiling softly at that thought, Cassi thought of something else to do, before it occured to her that she still had a small peice of vine charcal in the small pocket on the inside of her waist ribbon, for drawing on the way here. Not that she was good or anything, but her mother insisted that she practice, continuesly. Taking out the small peice, Cassi gently unfolded the boat and spread it out on her lap, carefully writing out a message. 'My name is Cassiopeia.' Doubting that he had his own peice of charcal, she placed it in the center of the now insanely creased peice of paper and folded it into a small triangle until she could feel the thing on one edge. Looking up to make sure that the teachers weren't paying attention, she carefully flicked it over to him.

Lord Lawley looked surprised when Lady Anita whispered in his ear. The woman, though beautiful, spoke rarely; at least to him. She always seemed a bit skittish and shy to him. While this didn't bother him, he did wonder what she was like, underneath all of her uncertainty. He looked at her curiously, considering her idea. "True," he said, looking over at the spider. "Of course... It isn't a magical creature, at least as far as we know. But we could still give her the option of keeping it in a cage there. At least, with the permission of Lady Florizel. And if it doesn't scare Lord Taite all too much." Lord Lawley gave a mischievous grin to the young lord before turning to Lady Florizel. He figured Lady Anita wouldn't mind if he spoke the idea to the headmistress, and Lady Maybelline didn't seem to mind. "Do you wish for us to give her the option of leaving the arachnid in the Magical Creatures classroom or letting it into the wild? Of course, it would have to go in a cage," he said thoughtfully. "It was Lady Anita's idea." He sounded rather proud of the lady, glad that she had actually said something to him, a rare but pleasant occurrence.

Damien was surprised to feel a weight inside the paper this time, and unfolded the note to see a small piece of charcoal enclosed. He picked it up and examined it with a raised eyebrow.

"What is this - " he started quietly before seeing the slightly smudged writing on the paper. Cassiopeia. A quick grin flew across his face and he turned the square of paper over. That's a mouthful. Have a nickname? I'm Damien. It just barely fit onto the paper, but his writing, which was surprisingly neat for a guy, was small and squeezed on just fine.

Quickly he wrapped the charcoal up in the paper again and folded the sides in so it wouldn't slide out and hit anything. With a subtle glance at the teachers, he tossed the note back to her. As soon as it left his hand, he leaned back in his seat and lounged comfortably as if nothing had happened.
