Karite stepped into the forest of sorrows which he was in not to long ago. Setting Kore down on the now icy swamp land that once scared him to no end. The wind was deeply chilled and much more intense then the rest of the island. Feeling the wind around his newly developed scar on his check he felt the burning sting of the mark. Shame is all it screamed, but he had to get his mind off that right now. Now he had to move onto to more important things. Clearing his throat he smelled the fowl air and smiled. "Its a good day to die. Its an even better day to feel the thrill." Speaking louder he motioned for the other two to stop. "Whats our first target and whats our battle plan to bring them down?" Karite was actually taking the time to think and using the other two people with him as a tool instead of a hinderence. Maybe Maya's little lessons were rubbing off on him.

The dark feeling around Shisei was heart trembling, yet it was interesting to the snake child. The cool brisk air of the morning, the dark canopy above the taiga still made the area look dark as night, the ever sounding screeches and growls of whatever has made a home inside of the area. The overall place was a sanctuary of danger. It was a feeling similar, but not at the same magnitude as that person…. Gold eyes watched as broken hopper was tinkering with some subject within her mind while reaper leo asked a question. The snake youth had to wonder this also. One couldn’t move without the use of crutches, the other had his insides holding in just by a string, and his chest had become an inch more concave, not allowing for respiration as he normally would. Breathing would not return to normal for a while, still the snake child was sure he was at least 80% capable of doing objectives. His long distance fun runs around the island may have to wait a while though. With a small tremble and a quick spasm of the body, the Orochi maverick decided to make a comment. “Obviously the one with the lion should go find the prey. Karite you and your pet go find some animal… preferably pig.” his voice orders while the gold eyes return from their bright stance to being almost completely closed. The gaze then fell upon Orika. “You make a trap similar to one that caught me. If need be... I can lure it into the trap.” the Orochi also stated at her. His body then moved to the closest tree, a large piece of plantation with a trunk the size of his body times ten. Yet it had a branch that was at a small enough elevation for him to get to. With a small hop on a protrusion from the trunk and then another from it the dread head was a few feet off the ground on a thick branch that could hold his weight. This arm of the tree put him about seven feet off the ground. His frame leaned back against the tree with one foot against it while the other kept his form at equilibrium. Both arms, covered by the blue sleeves and the green pentagon design, crossed around his chest with one finger slightly tugging at the scarf. "Well? Get to work." the youth stated at the two as the his head pivoted around the area scanning it. Perhaps there would be something interesting to find.

Karite grinded his teeth as Shisei began barking orders. It was beginning to piss him off. He was no leader and was nowhere near qualified to be one. "Why you slimy a*****e! I should rip your voice box from your neck and make you choke on the dust of your ancestors bones!" Karite clenched his fist and began walking off clicking his jaw to have Kore follow. If it were for the fact he was here hunting he probably would have killed the boy then and there. In his mind away from the cold air of death that surrounded him Karite began to recite in his mind a poem a certain leader told him once. “As the wolf stands alone in the pale moonlight. From a whole different level then the man in white. It seems to die a whole new fright. Only being affected by its raw might. And it cannot be said that fear is his goal. When all it does is pay its toll. Assigned by nature. Yes he hunts and feasts on innocent flesh. But do we not all seek this same instinct in our DNA'ed mess. So lose this stipulation that in you is a better demon. Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight and see you are no better being. For yes I do stand but not alone for I look forth into a mirror and see. A pale man blending with snow. And in his eyes pupils. Pupils to be taught the meaning of freedom. The meaning of being human. The meaning of instinct and animal lust. The meaning of the pale moonlight.” Shaking lose his mind he looked down at Kore. “Well buddy? You think you can find us some dinner?”

The lion noticed the sudden spike in emotion from Karite and knew it was about to happen. Shisei was about to get it again, but instead of a physical lashing the boy simply walked off. Maybe the boy was growing up or he knew he was right. Who knew it didn’t matter. Walking deeper into the now frozen marsh the lion could see that something was on the boys mind but soon enough the boy stopped and looked at him. Asking if he was ready to find dinner. If it meant a hunt he was more than prepared. Sitting nicely on the ice, his black tipped tail swinging back and forth. The cub breathed deeply his surroundings. Instantly picking up on the scent the young cub began to walk off knowing the boy would follow. Yet some strange feeling rushed into Kore's body. This was a bad feeling not the thrill but something was warning him to be careful. This was going to be intresting but dangerous for his health.

Kore was following the smell deeper into the clawing forest. The sun did not shine bright here in this place and it smelled of death. Running is dark paws over stumps and on frozen puddles. He wasnt moving as fast as he ussually did due to his shoulder. Stopping every so often to breath in the fowl air to make sure the scent was still strong he moved with speed. The scent was getting stronger along with that Kore could almost feel the boar. They were geting closeer to the prey. Yet that gnawing feeling had not gone away from Kore's gut. Something was telling him to turn away now. This wasnt the time nor place to be hunting, but he ignored it. Hopefully he would not pay the price.

"I thought we were hunting a deer first!" Orika hissed, also annoyed at Shisei suddenly acting like he was the big bad boss. Plus, they broke the silence in this freaking scary forest! His idea was stupid anyway and proved just how lazy the boy really was. Orika would have sent both Shisei and Karite out to lure the boa- deer into her trap. There was no telling which direction a full grown animal would run. Plus, once she made her trap, there would be no need for a sneak attack since the boar'd already be trapped, raving mad, and they could just take it down with sharpened sticks or something. Orika puffed out her cheeks and ended her opposition with "Whatever beast he meets first is the one we'll be killing, then." Knowing that arrogant p***k, he'll probably refuse to kill the deer Kore finds first simply because he wanted boar. Orika limped off on her own and found a place where she could think without her brain waves being messed up by Shisei's massive ego. So she had to be prepared for any animal. What trap fits that? IT had to be something big and she didn't have much time so a pit wouldn't do. Orika looked around the forest and noticed the multitude of vines hanging about. It wouldn't be too hard to built a makeshift pen that only needed to last long enough for them to stake the deer!

Orika reached up and yanked down a strip of vine, pulling and pulling until the whole length fell around her shoulders like some kind of cape. She lifted the weighty mass off and slung it around a tree trunk, then walked the other section over to another tree. The vine hung about a metre off the ground, way too high to catch a boar or a fox or a bunny. Darn it, she wanted a deer! Orika spat in the direction of eggplant head and looped the vine around the tree again so that two strips now linked the trees together. A fox could still leap in between. She looped the lengthy vine around and around until her first piece ran out, then stepped back and look at her creation. It was... awful looking and really weak, with the vines drooping down so low that a deer could easily jump over without even breaking a sweat. She was already getting tired from having to move so much, her legs aching. Orika used her headband to dab a bit of sweat off her face and retied the purple cloth so that no bangs would interfere with her work. Huh, what kind of a trap was she making anyway? Would the animal run into the mess of vines and be knocked out? No. She needed a lot more to this than just a wall of vines for the animal could so easily just run around the two trees. But what? Orika looked around her for more vines she could use in lieu of an actual plan, but found she couldn't reach any of them. Oh great! But the girl remembered that Shisei had managed to climb up a tree so she could ask him for some help. Wait, what was she thinking, submitting to his ego like that? The farm girl's fist shook as she thought about how much she'd rather sock him in the face. Give him something real to whine about. But believe it or now, she needed the boy to do Maya's task, but for nothing else! Orika wandered up to Shisei's tree and shouted up, "Throw down some vines, would ya?" She hoped he wouldn't toss down a snake or fling nuts at her. If so, she'd have a few things of her own to throw! Orika balanced on one crutch and held up her hands to catch the vines.

The Orochi loner dismissed the vex looks and language by his ‘comrades’. The shinobi in training kept his eyes out peering around, but could not see anything. Then his mind came up with the idea. Perhaps if he was higher up he could see the all the prey they needed to get. Yes. This would make this ordeal much quicker. His eyes reopened fully so that the amber suns could perceive everything at the best of their ability.“Throw down some vines, would ya?”.Orika’s voice made the boy pivot his head downwards to see the girl with needy hands trying waiting for a vine. He’d almost expect the girl to set the tree on fire instead. Both pupils peered up into the branches and brush searching for vines and a possible branch to get a higher altitude. After a few seconds ten fingers began to pull at a small area across a branch. From far it may seem to be a group of small snakes or one giant green boa constrictor. The snake youth just hoped that the morning air had not made his senses dull, because a boa constrictor would probably love a morning snack. With small snaps of twigs and slush from the falling snow the pale boy managed to get the cold vines. Looking back down at the girl’s hands he tossed the vines down so that she could catch them. “Anything else?” his voice questioned from under the scarf. His body then leaped onto the branch with the once jungle ropes. This branch was not his target but another a few feet higher. This one would be slightly tricky to get to. His black sandals will have to move quickly or his possible ledges would break. To get to the other branch there were five other branches he could use to get there. Shisei jumped to the first one he saw. It was probably a sturdy branch a few days ago, but now it was half cracked and probably would not hold the serpent youth’s wait for long. Both arms and his chest collided with the branch and the last Orochi scrambled up quickly and placed both feet on two small branches just above the branch. The momentary weight was too much for the branch and cracked moments later falling to the ground. The snake child hugged the tree like an infant to its mother while his eyes peered for another branch to hop on. With one sighted above he stretched his arms upwards allowing his nails to grasp into the bark and then both legs slowly made a walk upwards till the shinobi child could flip onto it. From there it was one more leap and the Shisei was at his desired destination. His eyes looked back down to see hopper to get an idea of how high he was. He estimated his height to be around eighteen feet within the tree now. His eyes still could not detect anything he desired so the youth would need to be careful if ascending any higher. Snow and tree climbing did not make a good combination…

The gold eyes darted around looking for a branch that would be able to hold his weight and was high enough to give him a better perspective of the area. From his current position it was good, but a little higher would be better. He just had to make sure not to go above the canopy or else he’d see nothing but bush. The small frame stood up boldly considering how high he was in the tree. His body walked back to the trunk and scanned it trying to find a suitable branch. After a minute Shisei finally found a satisfying platform. Now the main threat now was how would he get up there? There did not seem to be any branches or twigs this time that he could use for a momentary boost. The falling snow was also beginning to make the tree slick like oil. Even when daringly standing on the branch as if he was on the ground the Orochi born knew that if he was not alert with each of his steps and his equilibrium he’d fall to his doom. Or hopefully he’d fall on top of Orika so she could break his fall. The thought made him snicker slightly which almost made him lose his footing. Shisei quickly regained his balance as both feet almost left the branch. As funny a thought it was the serpent youth rather not make it a reality. He carefully scanned the tree again looking for a way upwards.

His head continued to scan around finally coming to the realization that there were no branches for him to latch on to. “This is going to be bothersome…” the snake kid thinks to himself unsure of how to make his next move. The only thing he saw was something was an oversight that his eyes had seen before. There were small holes and crevices within the bark. Probably made by different animals that have had made a tree their home. With a sigh Shisei hoped that a chipmunk would not bite him in this endeavor. Falling from this height would mean death, but if it was over some tree dwelling rat then the serpent youth would welcome a quick demise. His brain had already contemplated a way of getting past to his destined branch. He’d have to use those holes for his feet to keep hold while his hands used some of the inclines and marks in the bark. Then the sly serpent could slowly and carefully cross upwards by the use of the foot holes. It would be just like mountain climbing, except it was a ghoulish tree and not a mountain. Still the same danger was present.

Things would remain the same if Shisei did not start moving so the serpent youth began his trial. First a foot into a hole, the child hoping that his toes would not disturb a sleeping animal. Then next a hand at a hard jagged protrusion from the tree. It was pieces of bark that was slightly torn down but not all the way off. The peeled tree skin was still sturdy as the rest of the wooden skeleton and Shisei had no problem holding onto it. Another foot and then another hand. Soon the snake youth was slowly making his way as if hugging onto the tree. The boy looked like some sort of white parasite clinging for dear life on the tree. His head trying not to think of the grisly fall and exactly how many pieces his skull will shatter into if he fell. Nor of the thought of how many feet his brain would splash about like a water balloon dropped from a far height. That type of thinking had to remain far away from his mind. Especially since his each hole his toes managed to mash into was cold and slick with snow. Another minute, another foot, another hand, another second to remain in the world of the living. He was almost there. The snake child just had one more break in the tree for his foot to grapple into. This one though was much farther than the rest. His right foot stretched from its secure fissure to the unknown crevice hoping for the best. A small bead of sweat began to form on his head as the realization his limb might be a centimeter too short to reach. With one more push his foot managed to grab a footing. Just in time because in hole with his stable foot a squirrel disturbed from its slumber did not take kindly to a wiggling white toe in its home. So as Shisei was a millimeter’s half away from another grip the squirrel took a n** which made the child lose his footing and begin a downward spiral.
Fortunately the youth’s mind was quick enough to make a grasp with his fingers for the same crevice his foot was supposed to be. The other had gained into some peeled bark. His body was in danger and lower than need be, but nothing he could get out of. The serpent youth glared up at the squirrel which threw a nut at his head. ”Such a virulent creature.” the boy thought as he began to think of a way to return to the branch of his choice without dying in the process.

In this situation there was only one thing a person could do. Man up. Shisei wasn’t about to let a tree be the next thing to get the victory over him. He already had to people to return the favor to. Adding a giant sequoia to one day chop down was not in his planner. Fortunately the serpent child was planning ahead when he felt his foot might not reach. He could use other holes in the bark to get under his designated branch and crawl to beneath it. The hard part with that would be being able to climb around the bark. Well it was either the difficult road or fall so Shisei did as his mind saw fit. His body lurched slowly till it was underneath the thick limb and then the white frame used whatever outcroppings or cracks in the wooden body that can be used. The snake child felt like some type of retarded spider as his body went parallel to the branch and ground. He wished a hundred years of bad luck and falling out of trees to that squirrel and its lineage. For now the Orochi born would settle with the most satisfying dish of all. Success. His body finally was coming to an upright position among the snow and bark. Each time his hand clawed into the bark was another moment closer to his task being over. Soon enough he was upon the branch gasping for air with a small grin on his face. He had to be around thirty feet above the ground now. Not forgetting his purpose the ivory skeleton stood and marched to the edge of the tree allowing his gold eyes to gaze around the demonic taiga. He could see many animals around shifting in the morning sunrise. There were rabbits, small fowl like quail, a small group of deer, and a goat. Then his head pivoted to another side to find other creatures like geese, surprisingly a moose, opossums in a tree, a fox, a group of wolves far off…, a very large python that had taken over a tree at a distance (Shisei took note to stay away from that area), and then there was where Karite was heading. It seemed he found a boar or two. Large pigs… “Ohh dear…” Shisei said aloud to himself. That encounter may not turn out well.

Orika cringed, waiting for the inevitable snake to come down, mouth first, over her head. Shisei was taking way too long, probably contemplating deeply which foul substance to throw at her head. She scooted in closer under an overhanging branch the size of two of her trunks put together and awaited Shisei. A clump of vines swirled down into her open arms as the girl watched, slightly stunned. This had certainly never happened before. She was glad he decided to play nice... or was it only because he wanted boar? Well, either way, it'd be nice to put fresh meat in her stomach! "Thanks!" she exclaimed, hurriedly limping back to her two target trees, "We're gonna catch this thing for sure!" Two gargantuan trees stood before her, the deer trail somewhere in between. They were about 2 metres apart, more than enough to contain any animal they catch. Orika tossed the vines next to the others and sat down with a stick to scratch her plan in the dirt. She had seen this great looking trap in one of Douken-san's books! There were two V's, kind of like a broad arrow. One huge one directed the deer towards the smaller one, of which the opening would be between these two trees. She would build a pen around these two trees and some others and then finish with an attachable vine gate.

First, she should create the pen since that would be the most important part of this whole trap. Orika tied the vines around one of the two trees about two metres off the ground (she heard deer could jump ridiculously high) and carried the end of the vine over to a tree about three metres back and halfway in the middle of the two main trees. She wrapped the snake-like brown root around the dark, shady trunk twice, then again just to be sure. Pulling it as taunt as she could, she ran over to the tree that had no vines around it, but the vine ran short. Orika heaved a sigh and limped back to the backside tree to begin unwinding the vine. Ah... no! The vine around the first tree was already slipping! Orika completely unwound it and hopped over to the first tree, where she secured the vine around a branch this time to keep it from falling. This was so much hard work. The girl kept looking behind her back at intervals as if she expected Karite and Kore to come chasing a deer at any time. She glanced up at the tree Shisei had scrambled up and watched him nearly fall with a muffled cry. He was fine and already well into whatever plan he had while she still struggled with a simple trap. The thought of possibly being the one to let her teammates down fueled the girl into working harder, smarter, and faster. This had become about way more than just hunting; Wasn't it always? She had to prove that she was a capable trapper since Shisei had placed his confidence in her. Wait a second... He wouldn't ask her to do something if he knew he could do it better himself. So in a way, that was the eggplant head boy's admittance that she was better than him in at least traps. The idea that Shisei relied on and trusted her made Orika's head light.

Farm girl blinked as a passing bird cast a moving shadow on the forest floor, waking her from her brief pensive state. Yeah, yeah, thinking about getting a trap done wasn't going to get it finished. Orika finished securing the vine around the first tree, then wrapped it only twice around the second, then moved towards the third, tying the vine securely between two forked branches. She grabbed her other piece of tangled cord and did the same thing, going back and back until she had vines stacked vertically about half a metre apart. For the bottom metre, she put vines together as closely as she could, in case Karite decided to lure in a rabbit or a fox. Now for the gate. Orika took what vine she had left over, used a sharp rock to slice it from the rest of the vineage, and then made a makeshift wooden gate using that and sizable sticks she found lying around on the forest ground. The gate fit snugly against the opening and she could quickly clasp it in place with the loose vines she purposely left. Now, for the real tricky part, making the larger V that the boar would not want to run into. She didn't have any vines left and besides, using vines would take far too much time, especially without any convenient trees she could loop the vines around. So what could she do now? That larger V was an integral part of this simple trap.

Kore was deep in the smell now his nostrials felt the boar. Filled with every inch of putried ordor the beast could give off, but to filled with the smell his nose was. Walking deeper in the wood the distant clicking of Karite's jaw was nothing but a buzz in his ear. Nothing was in his view but the boar in his mind until his path was blocked. Lifting his black forehead up to see what had stopped him he found the snout of a rather upset and hungry black boar next to it one of equal size. Kore began back away slowly before breaking out into a full sprint passing Karite on the way back to Orika and the snake.

As Kore continued on Karite spaced out and no longer payed attention to his partner. This is more then likely what got him into most of his trouble as it was. He didnt think with his head he thought with his heart and his gut. What more else did a shinobi need? Well according to Demon-Sensei they needed to think quickly on their feet. That was what training was for. That is what a team was for, that is what Kore was for to account for his faults. Yet it seemed nothing was going as planned so far. Looking up for a moment he saw Kore dart past him moving fast for a cun with a injured shoulder. Looking up with his silver eyes he noticed two very smelly and ugly boars. "This is bad...very bad."
