Serial Experiment Lain
Alex_Yoshimura
So I know the jist of what happens near the end of the series. I accidental stumbled across a major spoiler in a thread in the anime/manga forum. So, for all of you who have finished the series one way or another, is the ending any good? As good as the story is, bad endings generally ruin the story. What I mean to ask is: Does the ending come to a concusion or is it a cliff hanger? Good endings don't always have to end with "and everyone lived happily ever after" I just don't see that with this particular anime. Try not to give much more in the way of spoilers, if you can help it. A pm or response would be nice.
Just wanna know. xp
Its a cliff hanger. They continue with the story in the movie and my sister and i are like so excited! It is a good ending however.
Maybe the movie will lead to FMA 2. whee

It's unfair that the homonculus are not considered human, and it's really ironic.

I mean, Ed calls Al, who's just a suit of armor human but he considers the homonculus monsters. But then, Al's personality and memories are Ed's memories of Al that are implanted in him. Sure he has a soul, but...

The homonculus have memories of their past lives too. They can feel, have personalities, and the only thing that makes them different is the fact that they can't use alchemy, they can't die and that they gained a special power?

But isn't Al almost the same?

thats because they arent human.... they can regenerate and are immortal if they consume the incomplete philosopher stones, and they have 'special' powers(that sounds dorky)...
also, the homunculi do not remember their past unless they or told or suddenly remember....
they are 'monsters', really..... no, it isnt fair, and it isnt their fault...

who said they wanted to come back amoung the living?

and Al, is considered human, because he has a soul... and never really 'died'.... the Homunculi are pretty much already dead....

but this is just some facts and my opinions thrown in there...

You know what... I don't like Alphonse Heidriech.. (or however its spelled) My friends put through good arguments for me to come to terms with his exsistance. But every time I look at him, I get so mad. XD I think its becuase I'm jealous for Al Elric. I mean, here he is, looking for his brother... And Ed's off with Al's other-self. Not that that's BAD, but I mean! I don't want Ed to get distracted! >_
Also... I dunno if i heard this correctly.. but does heidreich have a girl friend? Also, hearing him with Rie's voice in the trailer is SO WEIRD. He looks too old to have Al's kiddie little voice.

[edit] I just found the movie thread. e.e;;; oops, sorry for posting it here if it seems off topic. ~_~;

There there Envy-san.....I fear that this Debate will never end....That is Till we hammer it Into peoples heads that He's a He and has Always Been a He and that He can Shiftshape People...Get THAT into your heads scream He Shiftshapes so he can be either a Male or Female But he Is male. Even the Lust In the Anime refers to Envy(Forgot which ep sweatdrop )as a "Him"....So If that Doesnt Pop a Bubble to Fanboys thinking that Envy's a Female then I dont know what will...(I heart Lust BTW so... blaugh )

thank you....

and just because Greed calls him an ugly b***h in the manga doesnt mean he is a girl..... YUOU CAN CALL GUYS BITCHES. Its just really insulting. Remember, Greed and Envy hate each other.

and if you are only sticking with adult swim, I dont even want to hear you say anything, cuz Funimation is damn stupid and gave Envy a female voice....
