Hi, I'm Mallory, I'm supposed to be asleep right now. xD
Just wanted to say "thank you" to who invited me (they should know who they are methinks) and that I'm as much of a history fanatic as everyone else here. I like in the States as an Israeli immigrant and my favorite periods are the Golden Age of England and both World Wars.

Hola! My name's Melanie. Or Mel. Or Ada. Whatever tickles your fancy. =]
So I guess it kind of goes without saying that I'm here because I love history.
Hmm, I also like my computer. Haha.. Photography is pretty much my obsession. I like reading, writing, drawing.. I make my own jewelry alot.
Uh, okay.. I live in the U.S. in Florida. It's really really hot here, and I hate warm weather. I'm originally from New Jersey so I get made fun of alot for the way I say some words. xp
I'll be a junior after this summer. I'm 16. Wootwoot!
So yeah. I try to be pretty outgoing and I like making friends so if there's anything else just ask biggrin

Dark Lady of Avalon I am in my mid-30's, yes, an Ancient Gaian. I love to research my family history and have gone back to the 1700's with my research. That's pretty cool. My aunt does all that geneology stuff. We found an old tin picture of Abe Lincoln in my family's photo album and she's trying to find out if we're distant relatives. =P

Hello! My name is Jovile and I am 18. Thank you for inviting me to this guild, I just love history and I like almost all periods of it, but I can say that I know the most about the history of art, ancient history and the history of Lithuania (as I am from there).
Well, besides history I like mathematics, reading, swiming, listening to music and so on.
(I apologise in advance for any mistake I am going to make because it is just my second language )

Why I can not enter to the Crew Chat? o_O

Erm~
I'm totally notorious on making awkward first introductions.
Besides that cruel point; Call me Aki or Hikaru, my real name is Alex, but really lets just stay with the nick names. ;o
Erm, lets see, I’m not in love with history, more math and science. ;3 But history is pretty good, and valuable. > x > ;; I also have a fetish for art, old art, new art, ancient art, proportions~ I’m an artist/mathematician thing ~ Oh? And I also really like Japanese. > x > ;; I blame gaia and my friends ~ I’m attempting to learn it before my best friend, they’re doing actual classes though. Damn.
Uh, And, I have no clue what to write here next. .... > x < I'm Canadian ~
Aki-Kun ~~

Thank you for the invite. I am both flattered to have received one and intrigued by this guild.
I am a little nervous to make an introduction after so many beautifully worded and detailed posts before, but I will do my best. My user name reflects my love of writing; Scheherazadea is a variant of the name of the storyteller from the Arabian Nights, but you can call me Leigh since that's a ridiculously long name. sweatdrop I live in the eastern U.S. and majored in history. Recently, I completed my master's in secondary education and until I find a teaching position, I will probably be spending a lot of time on Gaia. smile
I have loved history since I was a child. I really believe that understanding the past helps us understand ourselves today. I don't really have a favorite period I focus on. I tend to have my love affairs with certain eras or personalities and then burn out and move on to something else.
If I had to name a few enduring favorites, I would have to say ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian history top the list. These are followed closely by medieval European, Chinese and Japanese history.
I guess that's it for now. I look forward to participating in this guild. Cheers!

Hello, my name is Amanda, and I live in the United States. Thanks for inviting me to the guild! I am both African- and Asian-American and, being East Indian and (a small amount of) Portuguese, I believe that my love for foreign cultures is in my blood. I love to learn foreign languages, but of course in order to truly understand any language you must understand its country of origin's culture, which also means that you must understand their history. I had been an independent Japanese student for years but I didn't become a true history buff until I read Watsuki Nobuhiro's Rurouni Kenshin in middle school. I was fascinated by the fact that he was able to intertwine fact and fiction in his story and, because so many of his characters were based on historical figures, I decided to research the people and events to see what was real and what wasn't.
I was particularly interested in the Shinsengumi because they were so mysterious at the time. From the series, I could only tell that they were Himura Kenshin's enemies during the Revolution, and that Saitou Hajime was the last surviving member (at least in this series). But I wanted to know more about who they were and what happened to them - and I was immediately sucked in. Rurouni Kenshin also inspired me to become a comic artist, and my first comic (which I have not given up on yet!) was based on the Shinsengumi, because I figured if Watsuki could do it - why couldn't I? And I continue to draw inspiration for my comic stories from history to this day because, really, people would be amazed at how many fascinating stories you can find in history.
As for my areas of study? I'm nuts for anything about the Bakumatsu, World War II, Nazi Germany, and the legend of Anastasia Romanov (which I was actually interested in long, long before the Shinsengumi because of Fox's 1997 animated musical that I loved as a child - I was pretty ecstatic to find out that my favorite cartoon character was based on a real person but was disappointed at the tragedy that it truly was).

Welcome everyone! It's great to see so many different and interesting people here!
Now, I suppose a lot of you will be wondering about the random invites? Well, I just used the interest search to find people that had 'history' in their interests. And I went from there.
BaronDeGunther: The Crew Chat, is as its name suggests; for The Crew. In Gaia guilds the Crew are equivalent to normal Moderators on Gaia. So that is where we discuss matters of the guild, get drunk at staff meetings, etc. biggrin

Hello, my name is Janelle and I'm a U.S. resident of 19 years of age. biggrin Thank you to whomever invited me (I don't know who did...lol).
Uhm, I love all aspects of history and I don't have one specific favorite. But, I'm mostly into world history, having only taken one year of it my senior year in high school, and having had American history drilled into my memory since I first started school. So, world history wins on the basis that's it's all new to me. Lol. xd

Thank you x-Genghis-x for the invitation, I really do appreciate it. :] I go by the name of Sydney.... As for information on my username, I randomly decided to scramble up various letters in my name and I'm asuming you've viewed the result by now. >.> I'm 15 years of age and am currently living in eastern Canada. Despite the fact that history isn't my favourite subject and I'm not quite certain what is, I do take great interest in it. Several areas which I find particularly fascinating are Greek and Roman mythology, religion, the Renaissance era, Japanese history, Egyptian history, and generally all European history. Once again, thanks for the invite, and I look forward to being a part of this guild. 3nodding
