Tenma was sweating bullets when the girl, Riyu she believed it was, returned. Her breathing was hoarse and strained, you could hear it, she wasn't even trying to hide it. Keeping an eye on Riyu she continued her work. Intrigue washed over as the girl drew a circle...thing. The ice tht formed was weak, though that was probably only a reflection of the creator. Maybe, maybe not. Next the girl inspected the obvious weak spots, perplexed. Tenma decided now would be a good time to get out from under her gear. She dropped the sleeves and the vest to the ground, an earth shaking thud resounded through the training grounds as the thousand pound gear hit. A tilt of the head caused a violent snap in Tenma's neck. Next she strode over to the girl, observing the hole and the markings. A smirk appeared on her face as she came up with an idea. She grabbed her back and brought out her own stubblette of chalk. She drew the same the same markings, but the drew a second oval that crossed the first in a 't' shape. The first clap brought the water, the second the ice. She paced around the orb-like captivity. "Come take a look." she muttered towards Riyu.

Riyu grabbed up her notebook and walked over. She didn't have to look hard to see that Shadow had watched her and bested her. "Wow. You don't suck like me at this. I'm not going to ask you how to do it, because I'm supposed to figure it out myself. Still, it's really starting to annoy me. But oh well, what the hell. Wait, I can see it. Shuran's gonna kill me." She flipped open her notebook. I SWEAR I got this right....where did I screw up?
((meh, WB.))

Tenma had crossed her arms and looked at the girl out of the corner of her eye. Such lacking in self confidence. It was pretty sad to see someone like that, but she wasn't going to try and change it. "You don't 'suck'." Tenma said, her voice lacking in emotion. "You are simply unrefined. A bit of work and you will get there." She looked back down at the markings, it was pretty simple, she was just too wrapped around her brother to focus on what was right in front of her. What was right under her nose. Granted, it helped that Tenma had done this before. It was a technique on of her challengers had used. He was a wanderer, she had assumed he was just passing through because he left once he had healed. "It's Riyu, am I mistaken?"

"Yep. Fine, I don't 'suck', but I am...lower than average. I guess I spend too much of my training time trying to coordinate my limbs. Speaking of coordination, I think I'll go do 500 laps around the track on my hands. I need a break." And that was pretty much what she did. 500 laps around the track on her palms. And she was damn fast on them, too. Then she sat at the base of a tree with her arms across her waist. "And that's what I'm good at. One of the only things I'm good at, actually." She wasn't even out of breath. She was incredibly physically strong and athletic. Her weak link was alchemy, and she always felt sure that she 'sucked' because of it. She actually looked as though she was asleep, breathing normally and using the hard roots of the tree as though it was a soft down pillow.

((Sorry for my absence. Work, school, and life in general have been wearing me thin, not to mention the lack of sleep. I'm glad to see you guys kept it going though ^_^))
Alain had been sitting behind his desk since that morning's sparring matches. He was a little refreshed now, but still weak. That many fights in succession was hard on the body, and the last one didn't help. To use such a strong transmutation after several matches had taken it's toll on him.
He was glad to see that the cut he'd received was nowhere near as bad as he originally thought. He was afraid that the needle that struck him had layed him open. It had only left a long scratch on his forearm that had scabbed over before he even entered his office.
As Alain sat, rocking back and forth in the comfortable leather chair, he contemplated what he'd seen during the matches with his students. The last girl, Shadow she had called herself (hah!), was obviously one of the more advanced Freshman. He was glad their grade system was based on skill rather than age and year, or else that girl would be held back for the rest of her school-life. She would obviously be moving up the ladder quickly, he just hoped she wouldn't push herself too hard.
He also thought on his first match, remembering the blind girl he'd made an example of. She'd used one of the more challenging elements very well. Her main problem was that she wasn't offensive enough. Granted, it's hard to be offensive with an element such as air. Too gentle, but there are ways, and he hoped she would use her imagination to find some by the next time they fought.
His second fight worried him though. It reminded him of just how much work he was going to have to do with the rest of the class. Most of them had never even tried alchemy before, atleast, not in a fight. He was getting older, and the thought of having to teach basic fighting styles alongside more advanced students. Maybe he could let them do their own thing while he worked with the rest of the group? Or split the class and have them teach...
Alain was woken from his thoughts when a loud knock was heard from the double doors on the far wall.
"Come in," he said, sighing and sitting up to lean on his desk.

Sonja sat there bewildered for a moment, not quite sure what had just happened and by the time she finally came to, the girl was already gone. "Uh... you're welcome?" She dropped the loose-leaf paper in her left hand and turned back to face her desk once more. She would have liked to have read more on the desk, but she had other stuff to do. "I have a paper to write. Then some Tai Chi followed by meditation. After that you can do all the desk reading you want." She told herself as she picked up her pencil once more and started to comb thorugh everything she could remember from earlier.

Tenma had rolled her eyes at the girl's remarks. Oh well, she wasn't going to try to pep-talk this one. It was a waste of her breath. Next she loaded her gear back into the bag she had come with and walked off.
It was such a nice day, or at least it would be if there weren't so many people talking. Her mind wander as she headed to her dorm room. She was thinking back on her match, about her 'class mates', and about home. She didn't miss it, but she did long for the familiarity.
Tenma was careful to place her bag so it wouldn't crush her bed. If it did she would have to repair it, but that was one reason why she had alchemy; to clean up mistakes. Tenma's body suddenly let out a tingling she was craving something, but what was it. Music, that is what she wanted. She wondered if they had any music rooms around. She hadn't been allowed to bring her instruments from home, they wouldn't even let her bring her flute, or guitar. Hell, they wouldn't let her bring her picolo. She would have to ask soon.

"I hope the ring you gave to her turns her finger gray. I hope when you're in bed with her, You think of me. I would never wish bad things, but I don't wish you well, Could you tell? By the flames that burned your words...
I never read your letter, 'cause I knew what you'd say give me that Sunday school answer, That might make it all OK.
Does it hurt? To know I'll never be there, Does is suck? See my face everywhere. It was you, Who chose to end it like you did... I would love to know you knew Exactly what would you do? And don't say you simply lost your way, She may believe you, but I never will, I never will... Never again.
If she really knows the truth, she deserves you. A trophy wife, oh how cute. Ignorance is blessed. But when your day comes, and he's through with you, and he'll be through with you! You'll die together but alone.
You wrote it to me in a letter, couldn't say that right to my face, Give me that Sunday school answer, Or pen yourself away!
Does it hurt? To know I'll never be there, Does is suck? See my face everywhere. It was you, Who chose to end it like you did... I would love to know you knew Exactly what would you do? And don't say you simply lost your way, She may believe you, but I never will, I never will... Never again."
((Yes, I did actually type that all manually. And I skipped the last verse 'cuz I couldn't remember it.))
Thinking about it now, Riyu didn't know why she worked for a goal she didn't care about. She was safe from Shuran(for now), and she didn't want to be an alchemist. Her brother did. It was that, or get kicked out of the house, and about now she had been anyway. So why was she still working for a cause she hated? She wanted to be a shaman. Just to see how it was. Or an author. But noooo, she HAD to be born in THIS family. Riyu felt like killing something right now.

Tenma sighed as she looked at the time. It was time for her to get headed to her 'Practical Applications' class. This ment the classroom was indoors and they would probably be stuck there the rest of the room. She grabbed her bookbag, a welcome alternative to her training bag, and headed out the door of her dorm.
The wind was playing with her hair a bit as she traveled the paths to the classroom. She came quickly to the building and entered just as quickly. It was a bit darker in there, that she appreciated, but it was stuffy from the dust. This was definately not a place many students cared to be for any prolonged period of time. She entered the classroom, looking for a seat. She had the entire classroom to chose from, so she had quite a few choices.
After choosing a seat in the back corner Tenma set her bag on the table infront of her and grabbed out a book. This was the same tattered black leather book that she had been reading before her self-defense class. Her ears caught the sound of talking children, yet again. That Jennifer Lasander girl was particularly loud about something or another.
((Okies, just in case you can't tell, I am trying to get another class going. *coughcough-hinthint-nudgenudge-winkwink-nodnod* Anywho, I will pm the professor dudeness to let him know what is up xd No Shtona I am not taking over, I am just hyper. Haha))

((Hee hee, professor dudeness. Is he in leauges with Duke McAwesomington? By the way, I figured out with my Genius(or lack thereof) that my characters bio is full of holes and I want to change it. But I can't now....dammit....T~T))
Riyu figured that she should probably be in class, but she didn't want to move right now or the robot would wake up and she'd have to start smacking it. She pulled off her jacket and tied it around her waist, showing her automail arms. It was hot today, so why not? Other than the fact that there were immature people staring and pointing at her. So she gave them the finger and got up. She didn't want to hang out with people like that, even if it meant moving. Plus, she was supposed to be in 'Practical Applications' class, so she headed over there. "You're here early." Riyu indicated the words in Shadow's general direction, but was actually talking to the desk. That's right. She was talking to a desk. Man, she had serious problems.

Tenma sparred Riyu a look up from her book and a smirk. She was an odd one, that was for sure. "Then you should see a pattern coming up." she said with a thin note of amusemsnt in her voice.

"Sorry, but I haven't been trained in common sense yet." Riyu opened her bag and pulled out a rather large stack of books. How they could all fit along with the robot was one of the 8 mysteries of the universe. "The answer? Bag of infinite holding." After grinning, Riyu had a shocking ipiffaney(sp?) that she had said that out loud. "Uh....yea. Sure."

Tenma shook her head, this girl was odd, but she managing to be nice to her. She understood that, with alchemy, it wasn't just what you knew but who you knew. Tenma slipped her book away, not really wanting to share. She gazed over at the bag, it was plenty big for all those books.

((Seriously. She has that many books for EVERY CLASS. About 11. And how many classes does she take? 7. That's 77 books, for those of you who suck at math. And yes, it is a bag of infinite holding. She still has all the parts of the robot in there.))
Riyu, now staring into space and apparently not giving a shiz, started talking to herself. And the stuff she was saying was complete nonsense. "Duke McAwesomington was awesome....very, very awesome.... Uh.... He invented the color blue, and made all the red-tailed hawks on the earth. Yes, Duke McAwesominton was very awesome indeed."
