"Fine by me." August shuddered again. He was itchy from being covered in sweat too.
"Yeah, I was scared to death. I'm just glad he didn't snap his ankle or break his leg...or worse." She watched Rose itch herself. "I bet she wouldn't. She's got a strong personality."
"Ah I see. Shana's always centered somehow....unless she's leaning. I don't give it much thought though, since one, we're not jumpers, and two, she knows better than to uncenter herself in competitions." August scratched his leg again. He then whinnied loudly to let Shana know it was time to go and wash off.
Shana turned her attention to August. "Yeah, your right...Let's go get you washed off." She urged him foward and we went willingly. They walked out of the arena gate and Shana dismounted in front of the stable. She led August to the nearest wash stall. She removed his bridle and saddle and put his halted back on. She turned on the hose and washed him off, sweat dripping off him like soap. She turned off the water when she finished, grabbed a sweat scraper and scraped all the excess water off his body. She then took a few steps backward to let him shake himself. "You do always manage to get that extra water off you, don't you?" She returned his tack to the tack room, then clipped on a leadrope and led him outside to graze for a while.
August lowered his head and began grazing. He enjoyed the sweet-tasting grass, ripping off the ground and swallowing it quickly. He felt Shana stroking her side and he lifted his head, swiveled it around and nuzzled her hip affectionately and nickered. "Love you, Shana" he said, knowing she couldn't hear him, but stil. saying it all the same. She scratched his head. "Love you, August". He turned his head and began grazing again. The pair waited for Emma and Rose.

Rose snorted, "Em hurry up, let's be done with this and go eat." She stomped and turned her head to look at Emma from the corner of her eye.
Emma took the hint imeditaly and dismounted, following Shana out of the arena. She didn't wash Rose unless she had to because the mare had a disliking of baths. She slipped off her bridle and replaced it with a blue haulter, clipping the cross ties to it and un saddling her. She picked up a sweat scraper and cleaned off the sweat on Rose's under belly, chest and legs. Picking up a curry comb she brushed untill there was no trace of sweat or dirt, then switched for a softer bursh to make her coat shimmer. Finaly done she lifted each hoof to check for rocks or clumps of dirt. The last part she did was to run her fingers through Rose's tail and mane in order to untangle a few spots.
Rose snorted and stomped, wanting to be reunited with August and graze. "Hurry up you can be slow later."
"Hold on Rose I'm almost done. Just let me put your tack up." Emma left the mare tied and put the tack into it's box in the tack room. Returning to Rose, she unclipped the halter and lead her to the pasture. She didn't unclip the lead rope but took the halter off completely and hung it on the fence, while Rose went straight to grazing. "Sorry that took so long. What do we do next?"
Rose lifted her head after pulling up a large mouth full of grass, still chewing. She set her head on Emma's shoulder, finished chewing and nuzzled the girls neck.

Shana pulled August's head up and walked led him over to Mikuru and Emma. "Umm...which pasture should I put him in?" She stroked his face as she waited.
August nuzzled Shana's cheek again, then lifted his head and watched Rose, his ears pricked up. He whinnied to her in greeting. "Hey Rose, long time no see." He said joking with her.

Emma walked over to the fence. Rose trotting up beside her. "Oh um do you want Rose in a different pasture. I just assumed that they would all go in the same pasture." She dug a pair of mints out of her pocket, holding out one to Rose and the other for August. "Can he have this, Shana?"
Rose nickered back, "You as well. I see you have been cleaned up quite well, you were very sweaty." She joked right back at him, playing along. She reached for the mint and munched on it then shoved her nose back into Emma's palm looking for more.

Shana reached out and took the mint. "Yeah, he'll love this! Here August." She held the mint out for him. He snatched up the mint and chewed it up. He nickered his thanks to the both of them.
August snorted. "Yes, you too. I thought you were going to drown in your own sweat though. But, no more, your shiny now." He replied, continuing the game. He smirked at Rose.

Rose nickered loudly, the equivelent to a human laugh. She nipped at his neck, "Why thank you. I could have quenched my thirst with all your sweat." She tossed her head, her voice was a little on the flirty side and definatly light. Showing off she bumped Emma with her chest.
"I always keep mints in my pockets. First thing I do before going to the barn is get a handfull of mints. Rose loves them." When Rose bumped into her she wrapped her arm around the other side of the mare's neck, scratching the base of her mane. She saw that Mikuru wasn't around and looked around for her and spotted her near the arena. "I think Mikuru is waiting for us over there. I don't think she would have a problem if the horses were turned out in the same pasture. It's only for a little while and we can move them if she wants us to. Besides I think Rose and August have taking a likeing to each other, we should let them hang out."

August laughed at Rose. "Ouch that was harsh." He said sarcastically. He pawed at the ground.
Shana laughed at Rose. "She's got a good sense of humor! Yeah, your right. A few minutes won't be too problematic." She slipped off August's halter and guided him into the pasture. He turned around nuzzled her once more before leaning back on his haunches and then bolting around the paddock. Shana laughed at her stallion. "Well, I think he likes all this room. He can run to his heart's content now.."
August was flying around the pasture. He would come close to hitting a fence, slid to a stop, pivot, and gallop the other direction. He nieghed loudly. "Oh, this is GREAT! I love it here!" He lowered his head and collected himself on his own, slowing to a canter. His movements were graceful and suspended even out of the arena. He slowed to a suspended trot and pranced back to the pasture gate. His nostrils were flared and his ears were pricked up. He then put his head over the fence and laid it on Shana's shoulder.

Emma climbed over the fence and preched on the top rail. "Yeah, they'll love all the space. We better go to Mikuru and see what else we need to do." She patted Rose's nose and swung down from the fence. Before turning to walk off she found Rose's muzzle in her face and she kissed it, then truned away. "You coming Shana." She spoke coming in the western way and it sounded "comin'."
Rose watched August fly around the pasture and then come back to Shana with out being called. She was iching to strech her legs and have some real fun, but she didn't want to leave Emma without a goodbye. So she waited for Emma to kiss her nose and turn away from the pasture. When Emma was away from the fence, she backed a few feet and then exploded, neighing and rearing. She bucked several times and dashed around the area bucking, rearing, crow-hopping, and even leaping fully into the air then bucking. She did everything she could think of and enjoyed ever moment of it.

"Yeah, I'm coming." She gave August one last pat and kiss, then caught up with Emma.
August put his head back over the fence and bolted after Rose. "Wow, there's so much room to run here!" After a few minutes, he slowed to his collected canter again, then to his floaty trot, then walk. He finally stopped and lowered his head to graze while he waited for Shana to return.

"So what do you think we are going to do next?" Emma had turned around and walked backwards to watch Rose gallop around, she turned forward and walked straight towards Mikuru, falling into step with Shana.
Rose settled to galloping around and slowed a while after August stopped. "Your no fun. Come on play why don't you." She trotted up to him and nipped at his side. Then she whinned and nugged him hard, trying to get him to play.

"Hmm..Not sure. We've already put our tack up and the horses out, the assessment test is completed...I have no idea." She smiled at Emma helplessly.
August lifted his head with a strange look on his face "Oh, you want to play to do you?" He nipped at her neck before she could respond, then wheeled around and bolted across the pasture out of her reach for the moment. He pranced about lightly, taunting her.

"Maybe it's our room assignments. Or something about classes, or about training." As much as Emma watned to get on with the training, she was nervous about where Mikuru placed her, hopefully it wasn't dead bottom, she thought that she had at least proven that she could jump.
"Finaly." Rose trotted a few paces towards August then broke into a gallop and raced to his side. She circled around him and nipped at his neck. Coming up beside him, she pawed at the air under his belly and tossed her head, pushing him sideways.

"Yeah, probably. Although I already know which dorm I'm in...But my classes and training I'm not sure about..." Shana, noticing Emma's look on her face, smiled encouraginly. "I'm sure you did great! You won't get bottom-line placement Emma. Stop worrying...Your a better rider than you give yourself credit for."
August, taking the opportunity of being pushed, continued side-stepping away from Rose. "Nice try..." Then he turned and galloped away to the farthest corner of the pasture. He turned and pranced around again, enticing her to come after him again.

"I see you have put your horses away" said Mikuru. "Now it's time for me to place you now Shana you are Expert Dressage and Emma you are Begginer jumper and you are lucky you are going to work with me" said Mikuru. "Any questions?" asked Mikuru.

Emma sighed here she was being placed in begginer and Shana got to expert, but she let it go one day if she worked hard enough she would hold a title and be in the expert level. Emma was about to open her mouth when a loud meow came from behind her, along with the tinkle of a small bell. A bob-tailed cat wound it's way between her feet, meowing. Emma stooped and picked the cat up stroking her almost white fur. The tinkle came from a small bell attached to a blue collar and around the cat's neck. The cat started purring not loud but enough for Emma to hear her. "I was going to ask about rooms and classes and training and food."
Rose on purposly ran straight toward August and turned away at the last second. She flipped around and bucked then turned again and started to push the stallion's side, this time harder and ready to chase if he ran.
