Doa has a version where you can say what you want and most of the topics are linked from doa.
its called den of demons.

DOA and DOD are not affiliated, though.

really ? @3@ sorry!
well most of their topics are all basically linked to doa.
And my friend told me its made by the same person who did doa.
Aimee?

Nope!
DOD links to DOA pages for juicy wank, not because of affiliation.

ED
The main drama central for Dollfies and similar dolls is Den of Demons which in contrast is run by Mwrells who doesn't even like dolls... Den of Demons was created by Nullcherri... This forum has the barest minimum of moderation, allowing users to discuss controversial doll subjects. A day after its creation Nullcherri's account on Den of Angels, "Sour", was struck with the ban hammer. There was drama from the beginning with the Den of Angels members crying photo theft, and demanding their pictures be taken down from the 'hate forum'. Like wussies, DOD gave in and now all wank that refers to Den of Angels has to link back to Den of Angels, making it a requirement to join DOA to participate in most of DOD. As a result, DOD can only exist as a bitchy parasite to DOA because without them, DOD would have nothing to talk about.

That pretty much sums up DOA/DOD, graciously provided by Encyclopædia Dramatica.

I didn't really run into any troubles with DOA.. though everyone just kind of blends together. I don't know how to discribe it besides that it's not very personal. I don't know of that made any sense, but due to this, I've tired of the placea and only go there once in a while. >.>

Hah, I forgot I was in this guild. Terrible of me, but I haven't played with Gaia in a while.

Yeah, DoA seems to be sort of a big blur. Everything's very .. bland and sort of the same. But it is good for organizing meet ups and stuff.

I really don't hate it but i do dislike it strongly.

I don't like how everyone has a problem with younger owners. I am on there and I think everyone is a teen or in their 20s at most 30s...then I find out they are 50! xd I mean how can they hate young people when they are so immature! really!? they are Jealous! that some teen has the awesome doll they wish they had...and they start to cry over it and hate the teens. so they debate over it...and hopefully the teens will read it and leave...its is pitiful to me.

I am also against dolly debate...some of them are so dumb, I can answer all of them with either "its their money you have no say on how they choose to spend it as they have no say on how you spend it" or "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" and in the end people get hurt or the people debating something do the same thing in a different way! stressed

also the whole thing about dolls dont qualify as bjds. I mean no Dollmore fashion dolls but yes to Unoa 2nds...they don't even have that many joints and they are the same size! also no 27 cm...umm aren't they BJDs...last time I checked they are! oh and I bet they wouldn't have none resin dolls their if it were not for the fact they suck up to Volks so much!

I enjoy DOA actually. I post around a good deal (more than I post on Gaia) and it's been a pretty useful resource. Although galleries tend to go ignored. *shrugs* But it's nice for organizing and finding local meetups, finding people who have pictures of the doll you want to buy, and getting some critique on things like faceups. Also, the marketplace is a really valuable resource. I managed to find some great stuff there, like out of stock clothes that I really wanted, 2nd hand clothes that I really wanted and were cheaper with shipping, tools and supplies and more.

The rules are strict. But if you compare Gaia which allows a whole slew of things to go on (or doesn't allow, but it goes on anyway). Comparing a more structured community to something like this if that's what you're used to... it's going to be very different.

There are things that I both like and think are ridiculous on Den of Angels.

The are both advantages and disadvantages of keeping everything in the same thread. For instance, when I was researching for doing face-ups it was a HUGE help to have everything in one thread instead of having to weed information out of ten different threads.

However, when it comes to places like the General Discussion and Dolly Debate forums, it really inhibits discussion. Everyone just makes a post and there is little discussion between members which generally the purpose of a forum like that. Sure you can argue that it's their forum, BUT, having a place that collective holds the largest number of BJD collectors and not letting them converse is really stupid in my opinion.

In general, I love the community of DoA. The members are very nice and helpful but the mods tends to be a little too a**l when it comes to restrictions.

Something else that annoys me a little bit is the fact that the forum is strictly for Asian BJDs. Yes, I understand that the criteria of what makes a BJD should be more strict, but where it actually comes from really shouldn't be a huge issue. The real reason why this bothers me is because modern BJDs were created in style because of older European dolls with ball-joints. Aimee comes off as being extremely "weaboo" to me and thus dictates this rule because she seems to think that anything Asian is superior to anything else and completely ignores the foundation and inspiration that these dolls come from.

My only current gripe is that a conversation that I have having with a few people in a waiting room thread was interrupted by a mod who decided that the Souldoll thread was too large and made a new thread. Now, posting has been really slow. :/

I really love DoA. I don't own a doll yet, so I go around and research on everything from face-ups to photography. The people there are really nice, and DoA is a pretty peaceful running environment. :3

Heh. I like that, about DOD being a bitchy parasite (Or at least filled with them). That sums that entire forum up quite nicely.

As for DOA, so long as I avoid the debate/general discussion areas, I think I manage to avoid most of the wangst that goes on there. Honestly, most of the DOA members I've met in person at meets have been pretty nice, although I did meet a few who weren't particularly friendly and sort of hung out in their own little cliques and ignored the rest of us. It reminded me a lot of high school, with all the "popular" kids ignoring the outcasts and losers, if I'm recalling correctly. I guess nothing really changes even when people "grow up". Personalities like that don't change overnight. rolleyes

I mostly hang out in the marketplace; the group orders thread is REALLY nice. I've saved lots of shipping money joining orders like that, even though I have to wait extra long to get my stuff (three months for my Kid Delf from Luts). I like the galleries threads, too. So yes, DOA has its ups and downs, but so far its ups have outweighed its downs, so I'll probably be sticking around for awhile.

Usually I don't have a problem with DoA, but I've been ignored several times on discussion threads because they only are ever interested in listening to 3 of the 80 people that happen to contribute to the discussion.

See; DoA kind of has this unspoken rule that if you don't own about 20,000 USD worth of LIMITED dolls, no one gives a s**t what you have to say. And you can have the best insight in the world for that particular moment, but because you don't own at least 20k in limiteds, no one cares.

I've posted before where NEWS was released and no one posted it yet on the discussion thread. It's plain old ignored til someone who's known for having a crap load of limiteds posts it AGAIN going "OMFG look at this news!!" and then everyone else is all "ZOMeffeGee!!"

No, I know for a fact it's not an instance where my posts was simply overlooked on a 'busy' thread, because the above has happened REPEATEDLY across a few threads.

And regardless of how bitchy and snarky some people are -they're the ones whose opinions are ever worth anything as long as they own about 5 hot limited boy dolls.

So it goes: that if I say anything in debates or general discussion, I get ignored b/c I don't have rich parents or a plush job (or just as plush a retirement).

Otherwise, DoA is a decent forum. stare

I know a girl from MTAC that does alot of work on DoA and she does the absolute same thing to people in person. It's pretty sad. I get ounished because I weigh my priorities (ten SuperDollfies living in a studio apartment OR my five Dollfies and a Super-or other bjd-living in a three bedroom house...hmmm rolleyes ). Of course this was the same girl who I had to shove an official Volks letter in her face saying that "yes, 26cm Dollfies are ]official Dollfies. While Super Dollfies are A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CATAGORY, so technically not 'official Dollfies', but official SuperDollfies." May not be bjds but they are what they are, and just cause she doesn't like them didn't give her the authority to push us out of the panel room because that's all we owned, though we like bjds. Stupid ******** b***h...

I kinda disappeared from the dorrie world thanks to DoA. =/ It just... wasn't really worth it, you know? There's about ten molds they watch for and i don't own any of them, despite having rare dolls or whatevershit. Although i think i'm going to start a campaign with myself to post something nice about the people they don't seem to care about in their threads. BECAUSE.

Well, I've never had problems with DOA. Only for posting around the foruns to achieve the minimum posts for the Marketplace.

I only posted my dolls on the databases. Usually I search for photos of the models on my wishlist because owner photos are always better than shop ones, because you can see other make ups, and other styles.

But I usually love the Market Place and I always keep on eye for MiniMees. I'm on a Kamijo MiniMee GO now.

For discussion and news, I stay with our Brazilian forum. I should say that problems we will find every where, even at Resin Heaven (Brazilian) we have some. But... that's life...
