If he was home right now, Silva thought, staring at the stars through the thick layer of tree limbs, he would be hunting in the backyard... or snogging with Ruya. He scowled, not really comfortable with using the stranger's things for a bed, but the man hadn't complained. He was sitting on the other side of the fire carving something out of wood.
They had fallen into an uneasy silence... uneasy on Silva's side, the man couldn't seem to care less. He jerked as the man finally spoke.
"You got a girl back home, kid?"
"..." Silva scowled, not really wanting to answer. "What's it to you?"
"Nothing. But you remind me of someone, kid..." He carved as he spoke, not looking up. "You think your girl will remember you after I kill you?"
Silva scowled, turning his back to the other man.
"Hell, she probably has a replacement all lined up, doesn't she?" There was cold amusement in the voice, and it was pissing him off.
"He's NOTHING compared to me, old man. He wouldn't--"
"But there IS someone, isn't there." A cold, mocking laugh filled the air, making Silva cringe slightly. "There always is. You're not the type to stick around for too long."
"..."
"Females, kid, of any species. They aren't as dumb as you think they are. And they aren't faithful to men like u-you."
"You were going to say something else, old man." Silva muttered, turning to stare at the man across the fire. "You were going to say men like us. But I'm not like you."
"Not yet." The man replied, looking at the piece of wood critically for a few minutes. Then he tossed it into the fire, sending sparks flaring brightly into the night sky. "Hell, you might not survive long enough to become like me."
They went silent again, the man lighting up another cigarette and turning away from the fire. Silva went back to staring at the sky, his words echoing in his head. Hell, he could be right. Ruya could be snogging Neruo even as he sat there in hell.
The image came into his head, the two of them curled up together-- He stopped, scowling and chewing on his toothpick. He hated this man... but for the first time in his short life he had finally met someone that he understood.
And it was more terrifying then he had ever dreamed.
The man across the fire smirked slightly, taking a long draw off his cigarette and waiting for the kid to start getting paranoid. He had come out of the same rift that Ice had gone into somehow. That meant he had some sort of connection with her. Maybe. If he didn't he might be useful in other ways.
He looked to be a magical creature. And while the man didn't hold much with magic, he didn't deny that it seemed to have its uses. But if he planned on using the kid as a lacky he would have to get rid of any desire to go back to where he had come from. Females were useful in that way... and a few others, he admitted, his smirk widening slightly.
But in other ways they were a pain in the a**.
"How do you know she won't be faithful?" The voice made him turn slightly. He had been expecting that question, waiting for the hint of doubt.
"Because they never are, kid. Trust me, I've tried." He tapped off his cigarette and made himself comfortable. He would get what sleep he could, it was his training. But the kid... there would be no sleep for him. He decided to put a little salt in that wound, drawling out his next sentence.
"Get some sleep, kid. It might be your last."

"Silll-va!!! Silva where are you?!" The voice made the stranger jerk awake, shocked at the sound of Ice actually calling for him. That was just... stupid. It told him exactly where she was-- Wait... WHY would she be looking for him? If she really wanted to find him--
"s**t. She found me." The fairy's voice made him turn, hiding his reaction quickly as everything clicked into place. He finally knew the kid's name. Too bad it was the same as his own.
"You... belong to Ice." The man said, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "Now isn't that convenient?"
"Wh-what? What in the hell does that have to do with--"
"I want you to go home, kid. Go back to Ice and say that nothing happened. You never met me, got it?"
"Trust me, I'm not planning on telling. I'd just as well forget--"
"Oh no, you won't forget. You owe me a life debt. I plan on collecting on it. Just not right now." The man stood, stretching and fingering the hilt of his sword. "I always collect my debts, kid. No matter where I have to go to get it." The fire had died down and somehow he managed to remove all traces of his being there in seconds, leaving Silva fluttering there with a blank look on his face.
"And remember, tell no one." The voice seemed to wrap around the small fairy, leaving him with a cold feeling in his gut as the man disappeared. He was still there when Ice and the others trudged through the brush. One of the Ices stopped, her broadsword jerking to a halt right before it cut off his head.
"Huh... Think I found him, Icy." She called, examining the life thread of the fairy closely. She scowled, noting a new connection, but said nothing. It wasn't her story to tell.
"Oh thank God!" The voice made him turn, blinking as he was grabbed and pulled into a hug.
"Can't... breathe." He muttered, not really fighting the embrace. She let him go, glaring at him.
"What in the hell do you think you were doing, mister? You could have been killed! Or eaten! Or-Or worse!"
"Amazon fairies could have kidnapped me and forced me to become their love slave, yeah yeah, I get it already." He crossed his arms over his chest and looked around, scowling as he caught sight of Io carrying a little girl. "Who's the twerp?"
"That's Jade. We're going to be babysitting for a little while." Ice replied, grinning in relief. She blinked as he turned. "Where are you going?"
"I think I'd rather risk the giant cats." He replied, only to be grabbed by a laughing Ice.
"Nope. Not this time. So... Ice." She turned looking at the female with the broadsword. "Thank you."
"I owed you." The female replied, shrugging. "You took care of Io." She turned, looking at the girl in question with a crooked grin. "And as annoying as she can be, she's still my daughter."
ME annoying? You're one to talk!
"I am, aren't I?" M Ice replied, looking smug. "Now tell everybody goodbye, we might as well head for homebase while we're here."
Silva blinked, strangely surprised that Io wasn't coming back with them. Then he shrugged. "Alright. Let's go. I'm sick of the smell here." He jerked as a finger dropped on his head, rubbing his crewcut.
Seeya, jerk. Io said, then handed the little girl to his Ice and walked away with the Masquerade Ice.
"Yeah... let's go home." Ice replied, smiling slightly as she watched the others walk away. Then she did something he had never seen her do before, lifting a hand and pulling it slowly through the air, creating a rift like the door he had come in through. They headed through, finding themselves standing in her bedroom once again.
It would have been nice, actually. Had the words of the stranger not been stuck in his mind.
I always collect my debts, kid. No matter where I have to go to get it.

"Happy summonday!!" "Happy summerday!!" The voices made Silva groan from where he was knocked out on his tiger bed. He turned, glaring at his bond and the little brat evilly, then turning and going back to sleep. Or at least trying to. He groaned as Ice poked him. "What." "It's your summonday! You're one month old today!" She replied happily. "Well whoop-de-@%$@ doo." "%@#@$%!" Jade repeated happily. Ice groaned, covering the little girl's mouth. Ice set Jade down, then sat down next to Silva. "This is your summonday, Silva. Most of the feien give presents to their loved ones to celebrate." "..." He turned, staring at her blankly. "I have met all of... hell, I don't remember, but there aren't many that I would call 'Loved' in my book. A lot of apathy, some hatred, some are just plain idiots, but not--" He stopped. "Screw it, I'm not doing it." "But I even got your present!" Ice complained, picking up three boxes from behind her. "Well, actually, one of these was for Io, but since she's not here I guess we could give hers to Jade!" She laid them on the bed, making him raise an eyebrow. There was a box of chocolate pocky, a box of grape pocky, and a box of strawberry pocky. The strawberry made him groan, covering his eyes as Ruya instantly jumped to mind. He finally spoke. "Those bastards are bigger than I am, Ice. How do you expect me to get it to her?" He didn't even consider that the "Her" comment was quite speaking. "You're stronger than most feien, Sil! And don't give me excuses, I know what I'm talking about. I trained you, after all. But if you want I can take it over for you! I guess I'd have to go to the store and ask if anybody knew a little female feien with red white and blue markings... and then I could meet her bondmate! And--" "I'll take it to her. Dammit." Jade looked up from where she was playing dress-up. "Dammit!" "Would you quit cussing in front of Jade? She picks up on these things so quickly..." She gave him a saccherine smile. "But you don't have to worry about it! I'm looking forward to meeting this girl of yours! She must be quite special to have caught your attention." "I'll DO IT." He growled, shoving himself to his feet. "Are you... ashamed of me?" Ice asked, looking pouty. "YES!" He replied, amused in spite of himself. Ice snorted, then started laughing. "Then I'm a good parent after all! Whoo hoo!!" She jumped up, doing a tail dance as he groaned and covered his eyes. Jade joined in, not sure what they were doing, but happy enough to dance. Silva grabbed the tail of the tiger and shoved it over his head. Hopefully no one was looking through the window...

Lack of Sympathy Neruo The orange Feien floated slowly out to the fence dividing Ruya's backyard from Silva's. He was covered in white gauze, and some red peeked through to the top. Neruo paid no mind to it. He had slept a few hours before and couldn't help but think about what he had done in her presence. He had to apologize. But was she here? He finally made it to the fence and sat. The blood loss made him a tad weak, but he didn't care. He looked around for Ruya... Silva He had had to get out of the house. Ice had been so freakin cheerful about this so-called summonday that he hadn't gotten any peace. He hadn't even been able to workout. He was sitting on the porch chewing on his toothpick and contemplating how to talk to Ruya. I haven't been around because I went to another dimension where I met this cold sonofabitch who I'm not sure, but might be me... He snorted, then jerked as he caught sight of the bandage wrapped feien sitting on his fence. He stood, shouting. "Hey! Orange boy!" It just... figured. He thought, his teeth gritting as he crossed the yard. The moment he skipped out another would take his place. Just like that smoking b*****d had said. Neruo Neruo blinked and looked up tiredly. He spotted...yes, Silva. The burgandy one. He wondered what he had been up to, since it had been a while since their last meeting. He mustered up a smile and waved. ...Then he realized that waving to him may not have had the effect it would on other Feien. But it's not like it mattered now anyway. He folded his wings and sat down on the fence, watching the dark one. Silva He scowled as he saw the other feien wave. Cocky b*****d... He stopped, wondering why that didn't sound right, then shrugged, levitating up to the fence and standing on it so he could look at Neruo more closely. The smell of blood was almost overwhelming. "What the hell happened to you?" He asked, not even thinking. Looked like the kid had had a worse night then he had, and he had almost been killed. Twice. Neruo Neruo leaned back and looked up. Not lazily, just...he was exhausted from the sheer loss of blood during his...episode. He watched Silva with hazy gray eyes before leaning forward again. He scratched at one of the bandages, which caused the crimson beneath to envelope more of the white gauze. "I happened to me." he said lowly, simply. "Why would you care?" Silva "I don't." He replied simply, shrugging. "Just thought you had had a run in with a lawn mower or something. Might have been entertaining to hear about." He stopped, scowling as he realized how much he sounded like the stranger. "So you cut yourself..." He stated after a few seconds. He examined his toothpick. He understood being self-destructive, but something pissed him off about giving into it that easily. "How'd it feel?" Neruo Neruo chuckled, feeling the dull pain of his cuts throb with his movement. "A lawnmower...that would be much more entertaining, I think." He stood up finally, removing the bandages. They all fell at his feet, rvealing wounds of various sizes and depths, some of which were still fresh and glistening in the sunlight. "It felt...very good." he said finally. "Much more satisfying as punishment than anything I could ever dream of..." He smiled. He was very happy, but he wasn't sure why. Silva Silva stared for a few minutes, then snorted. "You're ******** up, kid. More then I am, even." He sat, leaning back lazily. "You like being punished?" He thought about that for a few minutes. It was kind of like his obsession with weight lifting. Except his weightlifting just left him sore. This, though... this could wind up killing the kid. "You're suicidal." He finally announced, as if making a statement of a fact. Neruo Neruo shrugged. "From you, I'll take that as a compliment." He plucked one of his feathers from his wing, examining it. Suicidal? No, never. That was too easy. Hovering on the brink of death may be an option, but not now. He hadn't done anything to warrent a punishment such as that. "I'm not suicidal. This won't kill me. I may bleed, but I won't die. I punish myself because...it's the only kind of punishment that I feel is enough." He sat down, breaking the feather in half. "Don't you do something to punish yourself? I'm sure you do..." Silva "There's something. But I don't do it to punish myself. I do it for the rush." He smirked. "And it's something my bondmate doesn't have to wrap me up like a mummy for. Hell, she even encourages it." He watched the other feien for a few seconds, the smell of blood getting to him in a strange way. "It's not as messy, either. Ruya hates messy, you know." It was low. He knew it was low, but if the kid kept coming over smelling like blood he wouldn't be able to help himself. He liked to kill things, after all. Neruo "I was initially wrapping myself," he said absently, "but my bondamte decided to take over the task herself. And yes, it is messy, but I clean up well." He decided to do just that. He looked around for a water source and saw a puddle in the corner of Ruya's backyard. He figured she wouldn't mind if he cleaned up and floated down to it, washing the dried blood off of his orange form. When he was finshed, only the cuts themselves were visible. There was no longer any blood caked on him, and he flew back up to the fence to collect the bandages. He chuckled. "She hates messy? I can see why she uses a dropcloth, then." He started to fold the bandages. "You are a clean one, then, I assume?" Silva "Messy has its moments." He replied, shrugging. It was better now, he didn't feel the blood lust as strongly. "But when I'm done I burn. Sometimes I can't even breathe. Hell of a lot more painful then a cut would be." It was a morbid conversation, he thought, amused for some reason. "So tell me, kid. Why'd you need to be punished?" If it was Ruya then maybe he would offer to punish the other male for him. Neruo "What one person may find painful," Neruo said, tracing one of his cuts, "another may find soothing." They didn't hurt anymore, surprisingly. The medicine he had concocted did its job. He stretched and sat down again, his gray eyes wandering off. "I just figured that it was best to punish myself for wasting Ruya's time, since she seems to be oh so enthralled with you. Why take time away from her busy schedule to chat with me when she could be doing fun, exciting things with you? Wouldn't you agree....Silva?" Silva Silva blinked. THAT was the kid's grief? He couldn't help himself, he growled. "Look, kid, I just spent the weekend with a psychopath in a godforsaken jungle listening to him discuss, oh-so-calmly, how long it would take for me to get killed. And you think a female is worth this?" He waved, indicating the scars on the other male's body. "You know, you're right. Stay the hell away from my Ruya. But not because you're boring, kid. She probably thinks you're refeshing after a cold-blooded b*****d like me. But because you're too much of a coward to be friends with her." His eyes were slitted, a cold, vicious look in them that he hadn't ever let another feien see before. "You want to be punished? You can damn well come to me for that. I'd be happy to rip your heart out. But if you're willing to let some misconception do it to you then you aren't HALF the man I took you for." He smirked, a vicious smile that spoke of a hard life. Strange to see in one that young. "And I don't like to be wrong." Neruo Neruo tilted his head. Such an outburst. A man...smoking? In a jungle? Exactly where had Silva been? But he was making a good point. He hadn't considered that angle yet. "When did you go to the jungle?" It was off-topic, yes, but he was curious. After a moment of silence, he became serious. "Yes, you have a very valid point. It does seem like cowardice now that I think about it that way. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really thinking at all. It happens sometimes, and even to you, I'm sure." He folded his arms, looking straight at Silva. "Then it's settled. You won't be proven wrong, Silva. I won't stay away from 'your' Ruya. Consider my lapse in judgement a brief opportunity for you, which you may or may not have wasted already." He smirked. Silva Well... s**t. Silva jerked from his rage, blinking as he realized what he had just said, and worse, what reaction he had just gotten. "Forget about the jungle. It didn't happen." He said, backtracking mentally for a few minutes. "Dammit, kid, has anyone ever told you what a pain in the a** you were?" He finally muttered, examining his toothpick. "I knew there was a reason I disliked male feien. Serve you right if the widow idea was true..." He muttered the last under his breath before turning serious again. "Fine. But if I find out you've kissed my girl you'll find yourself a lot more bloody then you are now. And not in the good way." Neruo Neruo couldn't help but smile. Heck, it was a full on grin. "A pain in the a**?" he repeated. It made sense, he supposed, especially to a Feien like him. This was far too amusing. "I assume that no one has told you the same thing? And besides, I assure you, I haven't kissed 'your girl'. You can even ask her if you don't believe me." He leaned back on one of the fence's posts, smiling. Was his attitude that annoying? Maybe this was a good thing. The threat was what made his resolve stronger. He unfurled his wings and hovered in the air. He started to drift in the direction of home when he said over his shoulder, "Let's hope the widow doesn't get you first." The orange one then made his way home. He had much to think about. Silva Silva sat there for a few more minutes, scowling as the other male flew away. Dammit, he hadn't wanted to cheer the b*****d up! Much less encourage him to keep chasing after Ruya!! After a few minutes he snorted, shrugging it off and heading for the house. It felt good just to be alive.

((Formatted by Kam)) Love, hate, and jealousy? Silva Silva hauled the box of pocky out of the house, muttering under his breath. It wasn't heavy, but it was a lot larger than anything he had carried before. He would just have to drag it across his backyard and hers to leave it on the step. That way Ice would stop bugging him about it already being the day after his summonday. He shrugged, holding the box on his head, his hands grasping the sides so it wouldn't fall off. Ruya Ruya skipped out of the kitchen and onto her porch, a tiny rolled up piece of paper stuck under one arm and her rapier tied to her waist. She was all ready to travel, but out of habit she glanced around the yard. She didn't see anything, so she got ready to take off, launching herself into the air. On her way around to the street, though she spotted Silva and landed on the fence with a smile on her face. "Hi Silva," she shouted cheerily. Ice He looked up, dropping the box with a grunt for a second. "Hello, darlin. I uh..." He stopped, grabbing the box again. "Was told to give this to you. Something about a summonday... don't really know, but if it shuts Ice up." He levitated up, still holding the box. "You goin somewhere?" Ruya She grinned, so pleased to see him. "Another gift? You're so sweet Silva. Come closer and I'll be sure to thank you." She giggled and beckoned him forward playfully. "It looks a bit heavy for me. Maybe you could help me get it over to my house?" She avoided the last question, sure it would cause trouble if she answered it. Silva Actually--" He stopped, smirking slightly. "Yeah. I thought I might make up for not being around lately." He moved closer, but was unable to get his reward while keeping the damn box from taking a fall. "Why don't I get this over to your place, then you can... thank me." He missed making out, being kissed and hugged. He was almost... hungry for a little touch. But wait... she hadn't told him where she was going. Hmm... Ruya "I noticed you weren't around. You'll have to tell me what sort of exciting adventures you were up to." She winked, obviously thinking he'd just been hanging out inside for a couple days. "And that sounds great. I'll lead." Ruya turned and hopped off the fence to head back to her porch. She could hopefully stash the picture somewhere in the kitchen without him really noticing. Silva He followed her, enjoying the way she moved until he noticed something... odd. She had a blade on her. And a piece of paper. Well she had said she liked to paint. Might be a good idea to "Admire" her work. She was ever so much sweeter when she thought he actually cared. "What's with the paper, darlin? Draw something?" Ruya Ruya stopped for a second and swallowed before turning to look at Silva. She blinked a little before replying. "Yes. I painted something for Neruo since the last time I saw him he wasn't feeling very well." Ruya avoided going into details, not wanting to tell Silva about Neruo's breakdown without Neruo's permission. "So what have you been up to the last few days?" Ruya turned again, continuing towards the porch. Silva Painted something for... Neruo? That suicidal b*****d has a breakdown and she paints something for him? And HE, Silva, had actually cheered the sonuvabitch up?! While Ruya was painting-- He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "How... nice." He muttered, chewing on his toothpick. "Or not." He jumped up onto the porch, dropping the box for a few moments as he dealt with the fact that the stranger had been right. He stopped, remembering her other question. "I've been... around." Ruya "Oh, okay." Ruya stopped by the box and stood with her hands clasped, resisting the urge to fidget. "Something wrong?" She frowned a little and glanced at him. He didn't seem very happy to see her. Had he been avoiding her maybe? She had assumed the stuff about Ice insisting he give her the pocky was some sort of story because he didn't want to admit what a softy he was, but maybe... maybe he hadn't wanted to give her anything. Ruya studied her feet and wondered what was going on. Silva He blinked, then pulled her into a tight hug, burying his face in her hair. "Damn but I've missed you." He muttered, wanting to get closer. He wanted to believe she was the one that had made the mess with Neruo, but something told him the kid had done it all on his own. That... and he kind of liked how dangerous she seemed because of that. His hand reached down, rubbing against the base of her wings, his other hand keeping her close. "Didn't know if I would ever see--" He stopped, not wanting to talk about the jungle. Ruya Ruya lifted her arms to hug Silva back, dropping the painting so it fluttered down onto the porch. "I missed you too," she said, a little confused about the seemingly sudden change in attitude. She leaned into him and brought her hands up to hold his face out so she could look at him. "I decided you were right by the way. Life is too short to not do the things you enjoy." She moved her head forward to kiss him softly on the lips. Silva He kissed her back, trying to draw it out as long as possible. Inwardly he was warring with himself... or the other him. Did loyalty really matter that much? Did it matter if she had the orange boy chasing after her as long as she clung to him when he was around? It was just physical, after all... right? He pulled her down, sitting on the porch and holding her as they kissed, forcing the coldly amused voice to the back of his head. Finally he pulled away, nuzzling her neck. "Don't go, darlin." He said huskily. Ruya Ruya loved the way he made her feel like the most beautiful girl in the world when he kissed her like that. She loved holding him close while he held her and letting her hands wander across his bare skin. "Go where?" She said it fuzzily, concentrating more on how nice this felt than anything else. Silva "Nowhere, darlin. Just stay right here..." He shoved both hands into her hair, pulling her closer so that his mouth barely touched hers as he spoke. "Love... me..." He whispered, mindlessly right before kissing her again. Was that what he wanted? To be loved? To be on her mind, in her heart... in her paintings? Like an obsession or something? He didn't know. He didn't really care, all he knew was that the last thing he wanted was for her to leave his arms and go directly to that masochistic b*****d with emotional problems. Ruya Ruya ended the kiss, pulling back and letting a small contented sigh escape her lips. She opened her eyes slowly and looked over at Silva, thinking. Love him? What did he mean? Emotionally, physically, or... both? She tried to shift her position and noticed her rapier. Ah, she had been on her way to visit Neruo. Well, she could visit him later. She was still worried seeing her would upset him again somehow. She frowned, feeling guilty for some reason. "Do I ever make you feel bad about yourself Silva?" It just slipped out, words forming before her mind even fully processed the thought that sparked it. Silva He jerked at the words, his mind racing as he realized something. She felt guilty because of the orange boy. What had the dumbass done when they had been talking? It must have been-- He stopped, running a hand over her cheek and pausing as he tried to come up with something that wasn't derrogatory to her so-called friend. "You're making me feel damn good right now, darlin." He said, giving her a slight smirk that passed as a grin. "I don't see how you could make anyone feel bad." His thumb ran over her bottom lip. "Not with that smile." Ruya Ruya smiled and untied her rapier from her waist, leaning back to place it on top of the picture and sliding them away from her. She turned back and placed her hands on his shoulders to push him down. "You're hot," she whispered with a smirk. "I'm glad you're mine." Silva He blinked at the mine comment, then shrugged. This seemed like as good-- Oh, s**t. She was about to eat him, wasn't she? He gulped, forcing his mind to work as his body betrayed him. He wanted to be kissed... but not eaten. Being eaten would suck. Seriously. He had almost been eaten by a snake just the other day, after all. "Da-darlin--" He said, sounding pathetic for a second. "Wouldn't you rather just... cuddle?" Ruya Ruya stopped and looked at Silva like he'd suddenly turned purple. "Just cuddle?" She sat back and frowned. First he saved kisses instead of collecting them and now he just wanted to cuddle? "What is wrong Silva? First you save up kisses instead of redeeming them and now you just want to cuddle?" She was totally confused. He seemed to have been enjoying himself earlier. What had changed? Silva "Well, darlin... it's like the cherry--" He started out, then stopped, realizing how cowardly he sounded. And here he had been yelling at the orange boy about being a coward. He scowled, then clenched his jaw for a second. "Fine. Let's do this." He finally muttered, looking martyred. He reached up, rubbing the base of her ear then pulling her down. "You're just lucky you're so damn cute." He whispered. Ruya Ruya snorted, but let him pull her down. "You look like you think making out with me is gonna be painful." She rolled her eyes. "I can't possibly be that terrible." She kissed him, barely brushing her lips against his while she slid a hand around his back to play with the base of his wings. Silva He kissed her back, running his tongue over her teeth and wondering if her jaw would unhinge somehow. It would be cool to watch... but he didn't really think he wanted to see it first hand. Besides, didn't mating include baby making? He stopped thinking when her hands hit the base of his wings, a rush of pleasure making him forget what he had been thinking. He liked that... he liked that a lot. If she kept doing things like that he might LET her eat him. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer and playing with the spot at the base of her wings. What felt good to him probably felt good to her as well. Ruya "Oh." Ruya couldn't help but gasp when Silva touched the base of her wings, it felt so good. She felt warm and her cheeks were flushed, her breath came quicker, and she wasn't sure if an owl swooped out of the sky she would even notice. "That feels really good," she panted before kissing him again, harder. Silva She had touched that spot before, it had felt good, but this... he didn't know what it was, maybe it was just because they had been kissing for longer than usual. He grunted, leaning back so that her hands pressed harder into the spot. This, he thought, barely comprehensive, was the reason he wanted to keep her for himself. His hand rubbed the spot on her wings, just lying there, feeling as if the world revolved around them. Just them. "Mine." He muttered into her kiss. Females don't stay loyal to men like us....Neruo Neruo, fresh from a bath, floated outside and into Ruya's backyard. He carried with him one of his paintings. He worked very hard on it, and wished to give it to Ruya for being such a jerk the last time they met. He stopped and lit on the fence to check the coin purse he carried with him. Inside was a small gemstone he found while rummaging through LF's things. His bondmate let him have it. He fixed his hair and floated along to the back porch. This'll be fun, I think...The orange one flew towards it, his ears picking up strange sounds. Moaning? Panting? Was someone in pain? He flew quickly closer, seeing Ruya and Silva...doing interesting things. He couldn't help but turn slightly pink. He felt embarassed for them. He chuckled, standing up straight. "I see that you're quite busy, Ruya. I can come back another time, if you wish..." Ruya Ruya's head jerked up and she flushed, turning a bright red as she scrambled away from Silva. "Neruo. Hi..." Ruya stood and coughed, unsure why she had done that. So what if she was with Silva when Neruo showed up? She couldn't bring herself to sit back down though, so she just looked between Neruo and Silva helplessly. Silva Silva sat up lazily, still in a good mood from the snogging, as well as amused at the fact that the kid had walked in. There wasn't a better way to show who the guy in control was, after all. "Orange boy. Need any... punishing lately?" He asked, sprawling slightly as he reached out to find his toothpick. Neruo Neruo smirked. That was certainly one thing he hadn't been expecting, but he'd roll with it just fine anyway. He noticed the painting on the floor and bent to pick it up. He kept it rolled, in case Ruya had dropped it on the way to some other place before she was...distracted. He nonchalantly walked up to Ruya, handing her the gemstone which he had in the coin purse. He watched Silva from the corner of his eye, but wasn't threatened by him at all. He explained. "Consider it a gift of apology. I was very rude the other day. I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry, and that I'm alright." He turned his head to Silva. "No, I'm in no need of punishment today, thank you. And besides, you seem preoccupied." Ruya Ruya took the gemstone without protest and glanced at Silva before she spoke. "Thank you. You didn't need to apologize, but I'm glad you're alright." She hung her head a little, feeling guilt settle into her stomach, and mumbled. "The painting is for you. I was going to bring it over and make sure you were alright." (( The painting.)) Silva "Well, I was preoccupied, but you just ruined the mood." Silva replied, scowling at the sight of Ruya accepting the gift. In his mind it meant that she now owed the other male. He didn't like that. But he shrugged it off. She had given him a painting, after all. "So what do we do now, sit around and chat?" He snorted, finding the idea amusing. Neruo Neruo unfurled his other gift to her. A painting he did, which took him a few days. He was very proud of it. Minimal mess with maximal effort. He liked it. He handed it to her gingerly and walked to the edge of the porch to sit. "I wouldn't mind chatting, but this is Ruya's porch, so I think she should decide." (( The painting.)) Ruya Ruya took the painting eagerly, wanting to see Neruo's art. "Thank you Neruo," she said as she looked at it. "I'm so happy you painted me something. I find it hard to show other people my art, so this means a lot to me." She rolled the painting back up and placed it behind her with the gem and her rapier. Then she turned and reached out as if to hug Neruo before getting a good look at him. She stopped short and her mouth dropped open, her arms dropping to her side. How could she have not noticed before this? She had been too busy worrying about herself. "What happened?" She reached out and gently traced a cut on his torso with her finger. Silva Silva gritted his teeth, his good mood suddenly gone as he watched Ruya almost hug the other male. Then she ran a hand, tracing the cut that the b*****d had inflicted on hismelf. He couldn't help it, he spoke. "Yeah, kid. Tell her what happened. Tell her why it wasn't a lawnmower what did it." Neruo Neruo watched her fingers trace one of the deepest cuts on his chest and sighed. It felt...good. No wonder why Silva so enjoyed physical pleasure. He tugged at one of his curls. "It's nothing to worry about. Really. I'm all disinfected, so there's nothing to worry about..." Why did she have to see me like this? It is better, though, than having her see me bleed like some chewed up toy...Ruya "How do you -" Ruya bit back what she was going to say to Silva. How and what he knew about this were unimportant. She didn't think he had been the one to cause Neruo pain, so there was no reason to be angry at him. "Being disinfected once isn't enough, you'll have to stay clean until they're fully closed," she murmured, distracted. She crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Neruo with a sigh. "Disinfected or not, what happened to you?" Silva He blinked, wondering if she had suspected him of doing it. But she knew he didn't cut. He had a blade, but he used his chain as a weapon. She knew that as well as he did... right? Silva shrugged it off, wondering if the b*****d would lie. It would be easy enough to blame Silva for his wounds. He didn't think te kid was stupid enough to do that, though. Not with him stand-er sitting there. He said nothing, watching the orange male with a predatorial look. Neruo Neruo chuckled and put the coin purse down. He stretched and sighed, his orange curls bobbing with his movement. "Again, I tell you that it is unimportant. And as Silva mentioned, it was not a lawnmower, although that would have been quite a bit more entertaining..." He looked at her again. That answer would not be enough. He didn't want to worry her further by denying anything. "I cut myself. But please don't worry about it. It was a sudden lapse in judgement, and I guarantee that it will never happen again." Ruya "You did this to yourself?" Ruya just looked at Neruo in disbelief. "I don't understand. I don't understand at all, but I'm glad you're alright." She bit her lip, again thinking about herself. What on earth would all three of them talk about? It was clear the two males didn't really get along. She spoke finally, her curiousity warring with her common sense. "I'm not being a very good hostess. Would anyone like something to eat or drink?" Silva "I wouldn't mind a drink, darlin." Silva said, not moving from where he was watching Neruo. He had something he wanted to talk to the other male about, suddenly. And he didn't have a problem with using deception to keep her from hearing. "Water will do." Neruo Neruo smiled. "Water would be fine for me too, please. Thank you." He nodded and sat down, watching Silva curiously. Ruya Ruya nodded and headed into the house through the kitchen window. Water was actually a bit of a difficult task. She could get it from the sink and risk drenching herself or try and figure out how to get it out of the Brita in the fridge that she could even budge. After some thought Ruya decided perhaps Kam would be the best option and headed farther into the house and up the stairs. "Kam?" Silva When she was out of sight Silva turned, looking at Neruo through heavy lidded eyes. "You know what she asked me tonight, kid? She asked me if she ever made me feel bad about myself." He paused, waiting for that question to sink in before he went on. "She was worried that because you screwed up that somehow it was her fault. Now I'm not going to lie, I don't give a flying rat's a** about most of the people I've met, including--no, ESPECIALLY you. But I don't like what you're doing to my girl with this." Neruo Neruo shrugged, holding his head in his hands, watching the other. "I told her, and you, that it was finished. I told her that I did to to myself. When she comes back, I'll tell her know that she played no real part in it, and that she shouldn't feel bad. What more do you want me to do? I didn't mean for it to hurt her. Did you really think it was my intention to cause her pain?" Silva "I honestly don't know what to think, kid. Maybe you telling her that will help, maybe it won't. But you had better keep your word, kid, or I'll make sure that you can never hurt her again." He sat back, wondering where Ruya had gotten to. "Think she needs help?" Neruo "I will keep my word, Silva." he said seriously. He hadn't been this serious since...never. He sighed and stood, offering a hand to Silva. "We best see if the little lady needs our manly assistance." He chuckled. Ruya "Sure. Anytime." Kam made her way back out of the kitchen as Ruya took two tiny feien sized cups, one in each hand and floated towards the window. "Drinks," she said while she watched one cup and then the other, "are ready." She made her way down to the porch and grinned at both of the males. "I'm going to make a wonderful waitress." Silva "I offered her my 'manly assistance' once and she very politely told me where to shove it." Silva replied, taking the drink from Ruya and waiting for her to sit down next to him. He blinked at the waitress comment. "Waitress, darlin? I don't remember anything about that..." HAD she told him? He shrugged, thinking if she had he would have remembered... Neruo Neruo stretched again, his wings beating a few times to release loose feathers. He walked up to Ruya and took his water, sipping it down. He then placed the glass on the porch, taking up his coin purse. He smiled to her. "Thank you very much for the water, and I apologize for my intrusion." He chuckled, remembering her reaction. He shrugged it off mentally, and leaned in close to her. He whispered softly into her ear. "Don't worry about me, alright?" He lightly brushed a kiss on her cheek before taking to the air and floating off. Ruya Oh dear. Whispering in her ear, kissing her cheek? Neruo was encroaching on Silva territory. Ruya sighed and looked at Silva with a smile. "I'm going to waitress at the tavern. Neruo is a bartender there. And I think I'd better head inside when you're done with that water. This has been a busy day." Silva He nodded stiffly, gulping down the water before standing and handing her the cup. He nudged her chin with his forefinger, looking into her eyes. "Wash that cheek, darlin." He stated, taking his hand away and turning and leaving. "I'll see you later." Ruya "Bye." Ruya sighed and watched Silva go before heading back into the house with an odd look on her face.

His soul belonged to the devil... at least that's how it seemed. He still wasn't sure how the stranger would get through the dimensional boundary, but something told him it wasn't impossible. Not for a guy like that. But that wasn't the worst part.
The worst part was that he was getting possessive of his girl. It had started out easy enough, someone to snog when he got the urge, conveniently in the yard behind his. Hell, he had her on the second night. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that he wanted to KEEP her. It was his nature to keep what he took, he had never been a generous guy, after all. And that would be fine... if he didn't feel attached.
He knew the taste of lust. Hell, he had been born with it, it seemed. Blood lust, physical lust... but somehow the physical lust had gotten all twisted up in the back of his mind. He chewed on his toothpick, examining the strange contraption he had been working on, and scowled. He would just have to untangle it.
In front of him hung a plastic hoop he had gotten off the milk bottle. It had been left around the lip after the lid had been removed. The hoop was hanging from a string from the window and swaying back and forth. By his feet he had a pile of pebbles, just the right side for tossing. He had spent the early morning digging in the backyard to find them.
He picked up a pebble, tossing it to test its weight, then threw it at the hoop, scowling as it missed the hole. He tried again, the rock hitting the edge of the hoop and sending it spinning. He scowled, his eyes narrowing as he focused on his aim. He had been doing this for over an hour now, and he still hadn't gotten better. Much. With a scowl he decided to try his left hand, blinking as the stone actually went through, but barely.
He was... left handed? He blinked, pausing and staring at the hand in question. That didn't sound right... He shrugged, trying again. And again the stone went through. He shrugged. Looked like he was left handed. Then he forgot about it.
He wanted to kill the orange boy. The b*****d had had the GALL to kiss Ruya when he was standing there. He needed to learn a lesson in pain. One that he hadn't taught himself. He stopped throwing, feeling a burning sensation in his shoulders. That was another problem, he thought. He knew how to kill things... but he had gotten his a** handed to him in his last fight. Who knew how tough Neruo was? Maybe he had gotten into fights-- he stopped, snorting.
"Ice!" He shouted, waiting impatiently as she came in, the brat she had brought home sitting on her hip and sucking on a lollipop. "Put the twerp down and show me how to fight."
Ice blinked, motioning to the punching bag. "Thought you already knew."
"Do it anyways." He muttered, flushing slightly. He hadn't had to ask for help before, she had always stepped in without asking. "And why didn't you tell me I was left handed?"
"You are?" She asked blankly, letting the little girl down. Jade smiled, heading for Silva, her little hands stretched out to touch. He jerked, but stood patiently. He had already found out the brat wouldn't give up until she got to touch him. A small hand gently traced his wing and she ooh'ed and awwwed. He scowled, noticing how sticky her hands were.
"Dammit, twerp, now I'm going to need another bath." He muttered, swatting at her hand. She grinned, impishly.
"Pretty fairy!" She said, patting his head. He rolled his eyes.
"Yes." He replied to Ice. "I am."
"Oh... well, that would help in a fight, actually. Not that you get into fights, right?" She dropped down next to the window, pulling Jade into her lap. "Show me what you're doing." She said, motioning to the beanbag. He nodded, going through his regular practice of punches and kicks.
"You've got good strength, but you need more control, babe." She said when he was finished. "Here, give me a second." She stood, heading for the dresser and digging out a red marker. She looked at the beanbag, then at him, as if taking measurements. Then she marked an X on the bag. "See this? I want you to hit this spot. And only this spot. And once you can hit it without fail through an entire practice I'll give you another spot."
She stopped, fingering the hanging hoop with a slight smirk. "Nice. We're going to have to get you a spear for this set up."
Jade reached out, wanting to pet the "Pretty fairy" again, but Ice grabbed her, hefting her into the air. "You do good with the twerp, babe. I'm surprised."
He grunted, already working on his new workout assignment. As long as the twerp didn't smash him or make fun of his name, he really didn't care. Besides, the admiration stroked his ego, not that he would admit that aloud, of course.
"And she's right. You are pretty." Ice said, right before leaving the room. He growled, putting a little more force into his punches. She was right, though. He was having a hard time hitting the same spot every time.
He stopped, rolling his shoulders and cracking his neck. He would have to get back to it. His body was starting to complain even more than usual. He walked over to his bottle cap of water and took a drink, his eyes falling on the backyard... and the house behind it. Then he lifted the cap, pouring the water over his head before heading back into the room.

Sonnet's Arrival Silva & Co. Silva was working out on his windowsill in Ice's room, watching the backyard idly. It was too bright out for him to want to go outside, but that didn't mean he couldn't if something interesting happened. Ice had been sitting in the front room for a while, as if waiting for someone to show up. All she had told him was that the pocky hadn't been his only summonday gift. Something about that comment worried him. He shrugged it off, returning to his reps. Nobody could talk Ice out of something when she had an idea. He had already tried. Aileron & Co. Two narrowed eyes peered at the address on the building before glancing to the feien settled on his shoulder. "Well?" Dalreidan asked coolly, watching as Aileron compared it against the bit of paper he'd carefully written on. On his wrist, a small, lined wicker basket swung lazily - the wolf inside was clearly anxious to get out. "This is it," Aileron nodded, lifting from Dal's shoulder to hover in the air beside him as he reached up with his free hand to rap sharply at the door. Below Aileron, a white and blue zurui watched the proceedings silently. He was used to these deliveries by now, almost always with Aileron when he delivered a pet. Silva & Co. Ice jumped at the sound of the faint knock, heading for the door quickly and swinging it open, only to blink and look at the mail box. Finally she caught sight of the visitors. "Oh! Hi! Come in!" She stepped back, grinning widely to show the front room. "Sorry about the mess." She said, indicating the toys that littered the floor. "Jade and I were playing house." A little green eyed girl of about four looked up and waved. "Pretty fairy!!" "No petting this one, Jade, he's a visitor." Ice said, looking around. "Um... You came from the pixapet store, right? I should get Silva...." She turned, shouting down the hall. "SILVA!! Get your butt in here!!" Aileron & Co. Ailis picked his way forward toward Jade, nosing her with his muzzle before smiling and using one of his nine tails to tickle her. "She can pet me, if she likes," he offered, gold eyes cheerful. Aileron chuckled, nodding to Ice as she called for Silva. "I have a wolf to deliver," he offered, pointing to the basket. "Trio said it was for here. Silva & Co. "Puppy!!" Jade squealed happily, throwing her chubby arms around Ailis's throat. "Pretty pretty puppy!!" Ice sighed, shrugging and hoping Jade didn't tug on anything too hard. "I'm Ice, sorry I didn't tell you that earlier. I got the wolf for--" She turned, glaring at the feien walking slowly down the hall. He looked irritated. "What IS it, woman? I was--" He stopped, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the adult male, his surprise not showing. An adult male feien. Now that was a relief. "And you are?" "He's bringing you your wolf cub!" Ice said, fighting back the urge to try to peek into the basket. "Wolf... cub." Silva repeated blankly. He looked around. "That's not a wolf." He said, looking at the Zurui with Jade. Aileron & Co. "No. That's a Zurui," Aileron explained. "My companion. And I'm afraid the wolf isn't a cub anymore, Ice... Pixapets tend to grow up very fast." He glanced at Dal, who withdrew the wolf from the basket, setting it down in front of Silva. Aileron strode forward, extending a hand to the younger feien. "I'm Aileron," he said, with a quiet smile. Ailis, meanwhile, seemed to enjoy the attention Jade was giving him, even when she DID pull. He tickled and batted at her with the tails, snuggling happily. Silva & Co. Silva blinked. That was NOT wolf sized. He'd seen the animal channel before. He looked at Aileron, chewing on his toothpick. "Thanks." He muttered, not quite sure what he was going to do with a-- "Wait... that thing hunt?" He asked, motioning to the wolf. "She is not an IT, she's Sonnet. Um... right?" Ice turned, looking to Aileron for confirmation. Jade was in kiddie heaven, she would have to talk Ice into getting her a puppy! A big one with lots of tails like this one!! "Pretty puppy." Was how she explained this. Aileron & Co. "That's right," Aileron said, nodding to Ice before turning back to Silva. "And yes... it's in her nature to hunt. But usually, she's content to hunt things like mosquitos, flies... it shouldn't be a problem if you're worried about other pets." Ailis seemed equally in heaven, rolling and playing with Jade as a young pup might. He yipped at her, snuggling close whenever she wanted a cuddle. Silva & Co. "The only other... pet... I got is a full sized ferret that skips out whenever I don't need him." Silva said, shrugging. There was a slight grin on his lips as he examined the wolf more closely. "This should be interesting." He reached out, letting the wolf smell his hand. "I'm glad you like her!" Ice said, grinning widely. "I thought your hunting in the backyard might be a little lonely, so I thought... well, it was worth a try." Silva nodded, almost absently rubbing the wolf's head. Sonnet sniffed him, trying to place the strange smell that seemed to cling to him like a lover. Sweat... blood... and cherries. And something sweet from his wings. Ice blinked, not knowing what to do with Silva. He wasn't social by any means, so she would have to step in. "Would any of you like something to drink? A snack? I hope she isn't getting you too sticky..." She said, looking towards where Ailis and Jade were playing. "She has a bad habit of sneaking peanut butter and chocolate when I'm not looking." Aileron & Co. Ailis nodded at her, speaking up from where he'd curled himself almost completely around Jade, one tail tickling the underside of her chin. "I am sticky, but Trio can wash it out when we get home," he assured her, turning to sniff at his haunch before declaring, "Peanut butter. And... honey? Something sweet, at least." Wrinkling his nose at the scent, he turned back to nuzzle Jade. Somehow, it smelled much better on the little girl than on him. Aileron watched his companion fondly for a moment before smiling indulgently and reaching out to say a quiet farewell to Sonnet. "No, thank you. I'm fine," he assured Ice. Dalreidan only watched the other two, a cool look on his face. Silva & Co. Ice blinked. "Honey? Oh no..." She turned, running into the kitchen, only to shout. "TZ!! Stop-- Oh great, now we're going to have to give you another bath..." Silva ignored it, looking at the white feien for a few minutes. "You have kids?" He asked. Aileron & Co. Aileron blinked at the blunt question, smiling faintly. "Soon now," he nodded, raising an eyebrow. "Would you like to meet it when it emerges?" Ailis watched Ice go, wondering vaguely who TZ was before snuggling Jade again. Silva & Co. And he was still alive? Silva almost took a deep breath of relief, then smirked. "Sure. Why not?" Ice walked out of the kitchen carrying a blue, sticky looking ferret. "I'm sorry, guys, TZ got in the honey. I might as well give Jade a bath while he's taking his swim in the sink. Thank you for bringing Sonnet! I'm sure Silva's much happier then he appears to be." Silva crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at her evilly. "Yeah, sure, whatever." He muttered, chewing on his toothpick and turning back to the wolf. "Come." He muttered, turning and heading down the hallway to Ice's room, the wolf at his heels. "That's um... goodbye in Silva language." Ice said, trying to keep the sticky ferret from climbing down her shirt. "I'm sorry I had to cut this short, but TZ has the habit of rolling in things when he's sticky... Please, come by anytime! And tell Trio thanks for me, would you? Sonnet's beautiful. And don't worry, Silva's not as big a jerk as he comes off as... I don't think." She gave a sheepish grin, wriggling slightly to try to grab the ferret. "Say goodbye to the... pretty puppy, Jade." "Awwww..." Jade sniffled, giving the zurui one last hug before crawling to her feet. "Bah bye pretty puppy!" Aileron & Co. Ailis nuzzled Jade again, yipping before beaming at her. "Goodbye, Jade. Have fun!" He trotted over to Aileron, knowing his fur was matted and with a goofy smile was plastered on his face, and not caring a whit. Aileron nodded to Ice, smiling happily as he took to the air, not wanting to get sticky with the stuff that matted Ailis' fur. "If you need another delivery, I'll be happy to bring it here," he informed her, moving to light on Dal's shoulder before the kitsune nodded sharply. "Thank you, Ice." Silva & Co. "I'd like that. Thank you!" Ice said, trying to catch the ferret with one hand as Jade took the other. She paused, giving him a grin. "And congrats on the kid, I'm looking forward to meeting her as well." "Moo-ommmyy!! I gotta potty!!" Jade whines suddenly, doing her little dance. She had forgotten about that with all the excitement. But now that the pretty puppy wasn't keeping her distracted she remembered again! "I'll--um-- Bye!" Ice said, grabbing the girl around the race and carrying her like a football out of the room.

"Find something to do with yourself." Silva muttered as they entered the room. Sonnet growled, deep in her throat, her hackles raising as he turned. "What the hell's your problem?"
"You... arrogant little s**t." She growled. She had been so polite before, simply because her position had been established with Aileron and Ailis, but now... now they weren't here. The heirarchy wasn't established. "You think you're so tough, don't you?"
Silva turned, a strange smirk on his face at her words. "You want to prove me differently?"
She didn't reply, merely rushed him, her fangs bared as she went for his throat. She hit him, making him fall to the floor, but his hands were wrapped around her throat, so tight that she couldn't breathe.
He flipped her, so her belly was exposed, the same calm look of amusement on his face as before. "You aren't that fast, wolf. Too much soft living." She looked away, exposing the throat that he had grasped and waiting for him to accept her surrender... or, if the scent of blood meant what she thought it did, kill her. He let her go, stepping back and chewing on his toothpick.
She got to her feet, her tail between her legs as she crept slowly towards him. He blinked, raising an eyebrow. "There a problem?" He asked.
"Yo-you--" She stopped, her natural instincts warring with what she had grown up around. "No, master."
"Name's Silva." He muttered, hating the title master more then he disliked giving his name. "And keep it to yourself."
"Yes, Mas-Silva." She muttered, lying down and watching him through golden eyes. She noticed something strange, making her forget her cowering. "You're just... you're just a cub!"
"What of it?"
"Such strength as a cub..." She said, standing and stalking towards him, there was a gleam in her eyes. "You will make a fine wolf."
"I'm not your kid, wolf, you're my... pet."
"One is the same as the other." She replied, her tail wagging slightly as she tackled him again, licking his face before he shoved her aside. She growled playfully, tackling him again and getting shoved off. He blinked, then shrugged, deciding that wrestling with something big enough and fast enough to tackle him was good practice. Not to mention entertaining.
The fight was just bordering on savage, claws and teeth snapping, but refraining from drawing blood. Hands grasping tightly, but not breaking bone. If anyone had seen the fight they would have thought it a fight for life or death... but then they would notice the strange conversation that took place during the fight.
"You're slow, cub."
"Oh yeah? Bring it on, old lady."
"Got your throat."
"Got yours first."
When they were through they lay together, panting slightly, both wearing satisfied grins. Sonnet finally spoke, stretching. "I have gained a strong cub."
"Sure, sure, whatever." He muttered, his head propped up on her chest, his hands behind his head. "I won, you know."
"It was a training fight."
"I still won."
"I have gained an arrogant cub." She muttered, rolling her eyes and making him laugh.
"Not even I bother to deny that one."

((Formatting thanks to Kam)) The End Ruya Ruya floated out the kitchen window and out onto the porch. She had Bozidar in her arms and little curls of smoke came out of his nose at regular intervals. "Now no need to be so angry. I mean you're a dragon and she is a cat. It was bound not to work." Sunil perched in the window momentarily with an angry hissing cat perched on one shoulder. "What the hell am I supposed to do with her?" She jabbed a finger at her unwelcome passenger angrily. Ruya turned and tried to keep Bozidar from setting the porch on fire. "Just go calm her down. Give her some milk or something." Sunil grimaced, but disappeared back inside leaving Ruya and Bozidar alone on the back porch. Silva Silva was in the backyard playing a very rough game of tag with Sonnet. It was utterly silent, save for the snap of jaws when Silva got "tagged" or the tackling that Sonnet got when she was tagged. Although it was starting to get dark, neither had any trouble seeing. Then the faint smell of smoke drifted on the air towards them, making Silva jerk to a halt, a cold chill running up his spine. He whistled once, calling off the game and heading for the smell. If the stranger had somehow gotten to this dimension... He slipped through the hole of the fence, pulling his chain into his hands. Ruya Ruya spent some time debating which was better to chance having set on fire, the grass in the backyard or the porch. She had a feeling it really didn't make any difference, but she made her way down to the yard anyway and placed Bozidar on the ground. "Don't set anything on fire, I'm gonna clear a little circle for us." Ruya turned her back on him and started ripping up grass by the roots, tossing it as far out as she could. Silva Silva looked around, not seeing the stranger anywhere. But he blinked at the sight of Ruya pulling grass out of the ground. He blinked as he heard a low growl from his side, only then realizing that Sonnet had followed him. "Home." He muttered to the wolf, not surprised when she ignored him. He shrugged, heading over to the other feien, the wolf at his heels. "Darlin... have someone you need to bury?" Ruya Ruya turned and looked at Silva and the wolf with grass still grasped in one fist. "No," she said carefully. "Bozidar is mad, and I was trying to clear a spot so he wouldn't set the backyard on fire." She pointed to where Bozidar had been sitting a moment earlier only to see that he wasn't there. "Crap." She looked up at Silva again and shrugged. "I see you have a new friend." Silva "You could say that." Silva replied, chewing on his toothpick. "Who's Bozidor?" He looked around, raising an eyebrow as he caught sight of the dragon he had given her. "And your dragon is over there." Sonnet's hackles lowered as she realized this was some sort of friend... or more, of her cub's. There was a faint smell of him on her skin that only a wolf would be able to pick up. She sat, a wolfish grin playing on her lips. This was her cub's mate. Ruya Oh, Bozidar is what I named the dragon you gave me." Ruya dropped the grass and went over to pick up Bozidar, who had stopped spouting smoke and was simply watching Silva. "It means gift or something in some other language," she said absently trying to decide how to handle this. She shrugged and decided to get to the point. "I think I want to take a break," she said, "I'm confused about us." Silva "A break? From pulling grass?" He asked, deliberately misunderstanding her as his mind raced. She was confused? s**t. It wasn't as if it was that confusing. They talked, they snogged, then they went their own seperate ways. Until she got involved with someone else, that was. He cursed inwardly, his jaw clenching so tightly that his toothpick snapped in half. "What are you trying to say?" Ruya Ruya's eyes widened as Silva's toothpick snapped in half. "Why don't you go inside Boz?" She whispered to her dragon, who didn't look happy about it but took off back towards the house. Ruya crossed her arms over her chest before she replied. "I mean exactly what I said. I'm not ... satisfied with our relationship and I want to take a break." Silva "So you're dumping me." He muttered, a strangely calm look on his face. "Fine." He shrugged, reaching down and absently rubbing Sonnet's head. Only she noticed the tenseness running through his body. "Just tell me one thing. Is this about the orange boy? You get tired of snogging the same guy all the time?" He took the remaining piece of toothpick out of his mouth, tossing it aside and watching her through cold eyes. "Think he'll be better than me?" Ruya Ruya's forehead wrinkled and she blinked a little, a falling feeling in her stomach. "Fine? That's really all you have to say?" She tightened her arms against her chest and looked down at the ground. "I'm not tired of anything," she said softly. "I just think... ." She shook her head, trailing off. "I just feel like you don't share anything with me." And he does, she thought leaving it unspoken. Silva "What do you want me to do? Beg? Say, please darlin, I need you, I can't live without you. Tell you I dream of you, miss you when you're gone?" He stopped, an evil smirk on his lips. "Screw that. I'm not that desperate." Just close... He thought as he stepped closer, running a hand over her cheek, gently despite the look of rage that haunted his eyes. "You want me to share, huh? I'll share one thing. If you run to that orange b*****d and he doesn't... satisfy you... don't come running back to me." The word "Satisfy" was spoken huskily in a tone that he knew got to her. Ruya "No, I don't want you to say those things. I want you to be understanding." She tried to step back, to move away from the feeling of his hand on her cheek, but she didn't. She stood right where she was staring at him, even leaning her face into his hand a little. "So that's it? One shot. I have to either stay with you forever or never see you again?" Silva "Understanding? Understand what? That you're dumping me?" His voice was still calm, his touch gentle, but there was a coldness in his eyes that he had never shown her before. "I understand perfectly well. It's just like the man told me." He dropped his hand, looking at her for a second. "You might see me, you might not. I don't really give a s**t at the moment." Sonnet moved closer to him, her eyes glowing eerily in the night light. "But I'm not a yoyo, darlin. You can't shove me away and expect me to come back on my own." Ruya "Understand that this doesn't have to be the end. This isn't just about Neruo. In fact it doesn't have to have anything to do with Neruo at all." Ruya finally took that step back, feeling cold and looking at Sonnet. "Man?" Silva He shrugged, not really buying it. The stranger had made a bigger impact then he had thought, playing with his head, telling him the same things he had tried not to tell himself. "Just a stranger, dar--" He stopped, not wanting to use that term. "The more I think about it, the more I think he might have had something." Sonnet bared her fangs slightly, sensing the weakness in the female, as well as hating the pain she sensed from her cub. She stepped closer to Silva, her side against his hip in a comforting manner. "Fine." He finally muttered. All this double talk was starting to get him a headache, and he was refraining from the urge to do something violent. This wasn't supposed to be how it went. He was the one who was supposed to dump her. She was just a tool, after all. "But I need to collect on something." Ruya "No," she whispered. She had no idea what he would ask for, but she remembered her open ended promise as well as he probably did. "You're just being a coward," she spoke to Silva, but glared at Sonnet, suddenly annoyed at the other's presence here. "For all your talk of enjoying the moment, you're afraid of getting replaced, of getting hurt. Guess you're not as tough as you think." Silva His expression turned vicious for a second, then calm again, a slight smirk of cruel amusement playing on his face. "You think you have the power to hurt me? To... replace me?" "You think you're that important, do you?" He asked, his amused tone more cruel then yelling would ever be. "But there's one thing you owe me that I plan on getting before I leave." He said, looking determined as he took a step towards her, grabbing her chin. "My kiss." He leaned down, kissing her almost brutally, before softening it almost against his will. Ruya Ruya started crying as he kissed her, her emotions boiling over. She was so angry at him and yet so devastated she didn't know what to do. When he softened the kiss, she didn't bother to push him away, but bit down hard on his lip at the same time she stamped down on the top of his foot with her heel. "You b*****d," she sputtered, wiping tears away. Silva He tasted the blood in his mouth, the coppery bitter taste making him turn and spit it out before wiping his mouth. "And don't forget it." He replied to her b*****d comment. His foot was throbbing, but he wouldn't let her have the pleasure of knowing that she had hurt him. In any way. "We're done here." He said, turning towards the fence. "Have a good life, darlin." He started walking away, trying not to limp, his shoulders squared, his head held high, his hand gripping Sonnet's scruff to keep his balance. Ruya "May you get exactly what you deserve out of life," she yelled after him before muttering to herself, "Nothing." She turned and headed back inside to the kitchen where she told a smug looking Sunil to piss off and glared at all the pixapets.

Silva levitated up to the window, Sonnet in his arms. He landed on the windowsill, not bothering to hide his limp as he headed for the bottle cap of water to wash his mouth out. He spat out the window, then sat down, groaning and burying his face in his hands.
Sonnet whined, nosing his hands and licking at his face. "Go away." He muttered, shoving half-heartedly at her. She ignored him, lying down beside him and lying her head in his lap. He sighed, reaching down and scratching her head.
"She doesn't deserve such a strong mate." Sonnet whispered, making him snort.
"It wasn't like that. We were just..." He stopped, not sure how to explain what they had been. "Drop it, wolf, my head hurts." And his foot, and his lip, and his gut felt unusually cold. "She's replaceable."
Sonnet sighed, not bothering to mention his denial. He was silent for a while, looking around for something to take his mind off of what had just happened, then stopping. The door. Ice hadn't bothered to lock it anymore, thinking he had learned his lesson by going to Masquerade. And he had, actually. He didn't really feel like dying. Or at least he hadn't.
But he was tired and sore, and the taste of blood was making him sick to his stomach. He would heal first... lick his wounds, get stronger. Then he would leave this shithole behind. If only for a little while.
He had debts to pay here, and he wasn't the type to ignore his debts... even if they were to the devil himself.
Sonnet sighed, licking his hand and sitting silently at his side. He was alone, even with her sitting there, and nobody knew that better than her. The coldness would come... and if they weren't careful... he would stay cold.

He was better, his lip scabbed over, his foot no longer hurting. It was slightly bruised, but that was nothing that he wasn't used to. He had spent the entire night dreaming of the look on her face as she had injured him, a restless night. He turned, once again staring at the door, an empty look on his face.
Would it go back to Masquerade? Would he see Io again? Did he WANT to see Io again? She had never liked him, he had never liked her. They had just shared a house for almost a month, tolerating each other and trying to make the other's life hell. A slight smirk pulled on his lips, maybe it hadn't been that bad. And she hadn't tried to feed him to her bird, even though she had talked about it.
But he didn't want to see Io. He didn't really want to see ANY females at the moment. They were all out of screw with his mind and try to tie him down or shove him away, or both at the same time. So damn hung up on terms that they didn't realize a good thing when they had it. Didn't share his a**. So he wasn't a pansy boy ready to cry every time someone looked at him wrong. Or threatened his life.
He shoved himself to his feet, stretching and examining his body for any cuts that would catch the attention of the gigantic animals on Masquerade. He was fine. He ignored the sleepy inqusitive whimper from Sonnet as he flew across the room, grabbing onto the door handle, turning it, and dragging the door open with an impressive burst of strength. But when he tried to pull it closed after him he only got it halfway done. He shrugged, turning and heading through the door. He would have to come back, anyways.
He looked around, a slight frown on his face as he realized that he was in a dark, strange smelling room. A purple cloud of smoke seemed to surround him, the smell making him feel slightly sick to his stomach. There was a creaky fan overhead, turning slowly, a strange piece of clothing hanging limply from it. He thought he had seen something like that before... Ice had called it a... bra?
It was warm, but not the damp warmth that he had expected, a dry, almost opressive heat that made his skin feel too tight. There was a slight streak of light coming from the wooden planked shutters over the window. It was the only bright spot in the otherwise dark room.
There was a table by the bed, empty bottles crowded together as well as an ashtray overflowing with ash and butts of something that looked like cigarettes, but didn't smell like them. He scowled, slowly turning to look at the bed, only to blink at a coldly amused pair of ice blue eyes staring at him... then at the barrel of the gun aimed at him. It was cocked.
"Shouldn't have had vodka for dinner." A sleepily hoarse voice said. "Now I'm starting to see things." The man uncocked his gun, nudging the woman next to him. "Get out."
She jumped, naked as the day she had been born and clutching the sheets to her chest. "Si, si." She muttered, grabbing her bra and clothing and running as if being chased by the devil. Silva watched her go, not quite sure what had just happened, but figuring the man had been having a good time the night before.
"They must have poisoned my drink again." The man said, getting out of bed and stretching. He was tall and thin, with a deceptively wirey muscle structure. All he wore was a pair of black silk boxers and a white wifebeater, but there was an aura around him that made Silva worried.
If he had thought the stranger was someone to worry about, this man-- He blinked as he realized the gun was aimed at him again, a strange smirk pulling at the man's lips. "If you're just an illusion I might as well get some practice shots in." He said, cocking the gun again and sighting down the barrel. "Something as small as you might be harder to hit."
"Well... s**t." Silva muttered, turning and flying to the place where the door had been opened. There was nothing there, but the rush of air from the bullet that passed his head had him tumbling through the air, trying to catch his balance.
He heard the gun c**k again, ridding his gut of the cold feeling that had plagued it. His eyes narrowed and he melted into the shadows even as he hit the ground with a thud. This... was war.

Snake scowled, looking around the room. His usually perfect sight was blurring around the edges, and his stomach was starting to recoil. The tavern keeper must have put enough poison in his vodka to kill a whale. Too bad he hadn't realized that trying to poison a hunter was like trying to swat a jet.
Besides, one of Snake's favorite childhood pets back at the homebase had been a cottonmouth. He had named her Ripper. Then when he had gotten older he had graduated to his Angel, the little red, yellow and black snake curled up in his boot at the moment. One bite from his little angel had a man singing hallelujahs in hell.
But the seeing things? That was annoying. He looked around, not seeing anything. The illusion was gone, he thought, discharging his used bullets and reloading. He rolled the barrel with an expert move, then laid it down on the counter as he started going through his things.
He didn't even notice the small shadow pulling the sheets slowly off the bed and wrapping them around his ankles until it was too late. A burst of nausea hit Snake and he stumbled, finding himself tied up and falling towards the ground. He caught himself, glaring as he looked around. Then he saw the same flying thing that he sad seen before.
"Well... frag." He muttered, undoing the cloth from around his ankle and shoving himself to his feet. He would have said something more, but the bile rose in his throat, sending him heading for the bathroom with surprising speed. He never showed his speed unless it was important, after all.
The sound of hurling had Silva making a face. Oh yeah, he was tough. He had just taken out a crazy man with a hang over. He was smirking, the adrenaline rushing through his veins despite that fact. He blinked as the tall man walked out of the bathroom, wiping his mouth and dropping down on the bed. He grabbed the channelchanger, flipping on the small TV.
"Hey, no revenge? No death threats? No--"
Snake looked over, raising an eyebrow. "Shuddup."
"I came across dimensions to find a b*****d meaner than I am and--" Silva blinked, finding a blade prodding his throat.
"You wanna die?" Snake asked, looking bored.
"N-no..."
"Then shut the hell up."
Silva shut up. He hadn't even seen the blade coming. He hadn't even seen where the blade came FROM. This man was fast. Like a... like a snake. He scowled, watching the TV with the other man and blinking as it stopped on a strange channel. The word "Wolf" was in the corner, and the camera movement was slightly ragged, as if the camera operater was running.
He watched, slightly shocked as the camera cornered a man holding a long, dangerous blade. What happened next had even Silva feeling sick to his stomach, but there was a slight smirk of derision on the man's face.
"Wolf's always been a bleeding heart." Snake muttered, pulling out one of his cigarette like "Zen" and lighting up. A strange blue smoked filled the air as he exhaled.
"He just killed him." Silva stated, trying not to sound shocked. He wasn't... much. But he knew a real kill from a television kill, and that most definitely had been real.
"That was Macabre, serial killer. Had an interesting style, actually." Snake took another drag, wondering idly if smoking would make him sick again. "Wolf likes to hunt them. Says they're better prey." He stopped, wondering why he even bothered explaining this to a figment of his imagination, then shrugged, too stoned to care.
"And you kill?"
"Whatever they tell me to, kid." He crossed his legs, stretching slightly and glancing over at the fairy. "Shouldn't you have disappeared by now?"
"I'm--" He stopped, shrugging. "You're still stoned."
"Makes sense." Snake replied, turning back to the TV as if the conversation had never taken place.
Silva blinked, never having realized that this sort of... person... could exist. He talked about killing other human beings like it was a job. He didn't even seem to take pleasure from it... He stood, flying cross the room to see if he could find the door. The sound of someone begging for mercy from the television blasting in his ears.

Snake watched silently as the bat-like thing disappeared. He didn't really care, but was slightly relieved that the illusion was gone... Then he scowled, something about the way the kid had gone bothering his clearing mind.
He stood, heading across the room and looking around. There was nothing... But he reached out, touching the area where the kid had disappeared through. His hand disappeared, inch by inch. Jerking back he almost fell, shocked at his discovery.
"What the..." He muttered, reaching forward again, only to have the door almost slam on his fingers. He cursed, feeling the air for a knob or something, some way of opening the... well, he could only describe it as a... door. But there was nothing there. Silently he stood there, staring at the fingers that had disappeared and vowing not to have another binge for the rest of his life...
Or at least for the rest of the week. **************************
Silva took a deep breath, leaning back against the door that he had just slammed shut. The sight of the killer's hand coming through had been enough to make even him worried. What would Ice do to him if she knew he had let a cold blooded killer into her room? She sure as hell wouldn't be happy, to say the least.
And that suicidal urge? It was gone. Most definitely gone. He snorted, then started laughing in relief, blinking as he realized that tears were threatening to fall. The sound of the man on the TV was stuck in his mind, messing with his head.
"Please... please don't kill me... I'll do anything..."
He scowled, turning and heading for his windowsill. Why should he give a s**t about a human about to be killed? From what the guy had said the man had had it coming. And the idea of facing death with so little pride made his lips pull back in a derisive smile... Until he remembered his own pathetic response.
"You wanna die?"
"N-no..."
"Then shut the hell up."
He stopped, standing still as what had just happened finally settled in. He had been shot at, had a dagger at his throat... And he had survived. Triumphant. Sorta. Crossing the room he headed up to his windowsill and sat in the fresh air, hoping to get the smell of the smoke off of him. It was a reminder, he thought, scowling, a reminder of how close death actually was.
He had killed before... enjoyed the hunt. But did that make him like those men that he had met? He had understood the first one... and disturbingly enough, the second one as well. Was he like them?
The cold feeling was back, making him feel strangely seperated from the question tormenting him. So? What if he was? He snapped off a new toothpick from the windowsill, clamping it between his teeth.
It wasn't as if Ruya would give a s**t either way. And Ice? He scowled, not wanting to answer that question. He almost... liked his bondmate, actually. But what she wanted didn't really matter. Not if it was something he couldn't change even if he wanted to.
And hell, other then those two (and maybe the twerp) he didn't give a damn about the people and feien he had met. Something told him Sunil wouldn't care, either. If he ever saw her again. Shrugging he went back to his morbid contemplations.
He didn't even notice that he had dropped down next to the sleeping Sonnet and was tangling his fingers in her thick fur over and over again.

Storytime Silva Silva slipped out the window and across the yard. He was cursing himself silently, knowing that this was stupid, but he hadn't spoken to anyone all day. Not since he had gotten back from... wherever he had been. He needed to tell someone, tell HER. And now that she hated him he didn't even have to worry about her being worried. He smirked, amused at the fact that the only person he wanted to tell was the last person that would give a s**t. He slipped through the hole in the fence, hiding in the shadows as he got close to the house. Ruya Ruya was avoiding the back porch in general, but Rishi had to be walked sometime. So she and her faithful companion were out on the back lawn. Rishi was bounding around and exploring, while Ruya sat on the porch yawning. "You almost ready to go in Rishi? I'm tired. Working out is tough." Ruya leaned back and propped herself up by her elbows, trying to keep her eyes open. Silva There, he thought, cursing himself for the excitement that went through his veins at the sight of her. He drew closer, sticking to the shadows and settling into a spot next to the stairs. He snorted, amused at himself. He didn't even bother to hide from professional killers, but here he was hiding from a girl. "Darlin... Before you try to kill me..." He started out, scowling as he heard the slight hesitation in his voice. Maybe he should let her run off with that orange b*****d, forget that he even exists-- "I need to tell you something." He jerked, the words coming out of his mouth before his mind could stop them. "I went through the door." Ruya Ruya jerked upright at the sound of Silva's voice and looked around. Crap, she couldn't see him. He had to be using that stupid ability of his to blend into the shadows. She stood and thought about going inside, but then she sighed and sat back down. There was always the possibility she could locate him by the sound of his voice. "The door to other places?" She bit back the cruel comments that crowded into her head and continued calmly. "Find anything interesting?" Silva She was staying. He scowled, not knowing if that was a good thing or not. "Just death." He said, almost casually. "First time I went it was a jungle. The trees were huge, darlin, going so high that you couldn't see the sky through the limbs. And the snakes were bigger then hell." There was a slight grin on his face as he realized how much he had wanted to talk about this. "Couldn't even walk, there were things so huge crawling on the ground. And I ran into this... human. At least I think he was a human. He threatened to kill me a couple of times. Wouldn't have bothered me if it hadn't been for the gigantic dead cat that had its throat slit behind him." Ruya Ruya grimaced and turned towards his voice. Finding someone by following their voice was totally unreliable, but it gave her something to focus on. Keep her mind clear of anything else, like what she would do if she did find him. "That doesn't sound like much fun," she said mildly. "You are at least still alive and in one piece. I assume you got the better of this human?" She sounded doubtful, but didn't really see any other way out for Silva. Silva "Actually--" He stopped, unable to lie. "No. The b*****d saved my life. There was this... I mean... alright, I was too stupid not to notice this big a** snake on the limb above me." He sighed, flushing slightly as he waited for her to laugh. "It won't happen again." He dropped down, leaning back against the side of the house as he went back to telling his story. "After he saved my life I camped out on his bags, listening to him cracking jokes about how long it would take me to get myself killed. And about... other things." "He said women were never faithful to guys like me... like us. Hell, seems he was right. But that doesn't matter anymore." He leaned back, staring at the moon for a few minutes. "I'm not like him, darlin... at least I didn't think I was. But then I went through the door again." Ruya "You went through again?!" It just burst out, her voice a little bit on edge. That had to be the dumbest thing she had ever heard, almost getting killed and then doing it again. But was that what was important? No, probably not. It had already happened and he was obviously fine. "I'm glad you're okay," she said softly, and then even softer, "And not that it matters, but I haven't been unfaithful." Errgh, why had she said that? Who cared if she had been or not, he had made it quite clear the last time they met that he didn't give a s**t about her. "I doubt you're as bad as this guy, since he sounds pretty unimaginably terrible, but you're not always very nice." She crossed her arms over her chest, irritably. How dare he come over now and do what she had wanted from him before? Silva "I wasn't--" He stopped, scowling. "You're not-- dammit, let me start over." He chewed on his toothpick for a second, thinking things out. "I went through again, yeah. I owe the guy a life debt, whenther he sounds like a good guy or not. He kept me from being eaten. And I pay my debts, darlin. Whether I like the person or not." He paused, then shrugged. "And hell, seemed as good a time to go as any. I wanted to forget about... some... things." He was starting to see why the men smoked. It gave them something to do while they paused and thought things out. He said nothing about the faithful comment, not really wanting to bring up that fact. "But I didn't go back to the jungle the second time. Hell, still haven't quite figured out WHERE I went... but it was a room. With a fan..." Ruya "So you're saying you're going to go for at least a third time?" She sighed thinking about it. Whether she wanted to date him or not she certainly didn't want him to die. "And forget what? That you'd just told me exactly how little I meant to you?" She muttered it, not really wanting to hear his response. The event was too recent though, too raw for her not to say anything. "I assume the second time was just as fun as the first?" She said, prompting him to continue with the story, although she still hadn't figured out why he was bothering to tell her all of this. Silva "How little you--" He stopped, snorting as he realized what she was talking about. "Oh... that." He leaned back, shrugging. "Well, hell, darlin, what do you expect me to say when being dumped?" "But like I was saying..." He went on, not bothering to wait for her reply. He didn't answer the question about going back a third time. Wasn't sure what the answer was, actually. "The fan was strange, real slow and ran by cords of some sort. And there was a bra hanging from it. Then there was the smoke, the place reeked, actually, was hard to breathe. But the guy in the bed was hung over, and when he woke up he decided I'd make good shooting practice." He was actually enjoying this, he thought, slightly surprised. It was like a form of bragging now that he knew she wouldn't be devestated if he was killed. Not that he was sure she would have been before they broke up... Ruya "Before it happened I would have expected you not to be an a**," she said angrily. This was starting to piss her off. "What the hell are you telling me all of this for anyway? Let me guess, you thought to yourself," she started her best Silva impression, "What was the one thing Ruya said she wanted from me," she pantomined thinking really hard for a second. "Oh right! To share. Why don't I go do that now as a form of torture and make her realize how reckless I am, now that she can't do anything about it. Make her realize just how much I hid from her to begin with." She slammed the porch beside her with her hand in frustration before pulling it back with a little cry. That had hurt! She blinked, the pain pushing away the tears that had been building. "Do go on," she said coldly, "Bra on fan, strange smoke, and a trigger happy guy with a hang over. I'm gonna have to guess the hang over made it hard for him to aim." Silva "No, actually the reason I'm telling you this now is because I don't have to worry about you getting upset. Hell, darlin, you told me how you felt by dumping me. So now I can get some things off my chest." He stopped as he heard her cry, frowning slightly. "You okay, darlin? You didn't hurt yourself, did you?" Ruya "I'll be fine," she said through gritted teeth. "I just punched the deck a little hard." If he laughed, she would find him and strangle him. "I'm still rather upset, so this is all I'm going to say about us. Liking you is not something I turn on and off like a light switch. I don't suddenly not care about you because I don't want to date you." She pulled her legs in, crossing them beneath her. "But keep going, I want to hear this." Silva He scowled, not liking that answer. "I don't want you to care about me anymore, darlin. And I'll go on to explain why." He took a deep breath, focusing on his story and trying not to think about her hand. "After he fired once I got smart, took to the shadows. He thought I was an illusion so he wasn't surprised when I disappeared. And then I grabbed the sheets from the bed, wrapping them around his ankles and making him fall." "He caught himself. The b*****d was fast, darlin, like a snake. Then he went to the bathroom and threw up for a while. When he got back he started flipping through channels and ignoring me. Expect to talk about one of the... shows." "And darlin... I said something and he had a blade to my throat before I could finish it. But I couldn't help but think... I want to be that fast. That's the problem. I see things in these guys... things I wouldn't mind knowing. And I figure, maybe you're better off not knowing... not liking someone like that." Ruya Ruya made a face when Silva mentioned throwing up. Gross. Smoke was bad enough, but ugh... she felt dirty just thinking about it. She reached up and started rubbing her arm with her injured hand before she thought about it. "Ow!" She stifled it and carefully put her hand back in her lap. She tried to think of an appropriate response to his story, but all she felt was sick. Killing rats was on thing, but other people... feien...? "Do you want to be fast so you can kill me?" She asked, horrified just saying it. Silva He almost jumped up there when she said ow... then he stopped, raising an eyebrow at the idea of being able to kill her. "Damn darlin, I wouldn't need to be that fast to kill you. It wouldn't be that hard. I want to be that fast because..." He stopped, not really knowing the answer until he thought about it for a second. "It's a challange. Think of all the things you could do with that speed. Catch yourself before you fell, scare the crap out of people... and I'd never drop my weights on my feet again. That can be painful." He scowled. "Worse then getting stomped on, even." "And that's just the start of things. If I had the speed of the second guy and the awareness of the first..." He stopped, feeling a strange sort of lust for power. "Who knows what I could do?" Ruya She really wasn't sure what to say to that. It probably would be easy to kill her. It was a depressing thought. "I'm sure you could do a lot of things. But what do you want to do?" Ruya leaned back so she could look up at the sky. She wasn't going to find him with it getting gradually darker and she was starting to think she didn't want to. "Out of curiosity, have you ever really thought about killing me?" Silva "I won't deny you've pissed me off before." He said slowly, examining the question in his mind. "But hell, darlin, I couldn't even hit you if I wanted to. I think that's my greatest weakness." "But what I want to do..." He stopped, shrugging. "Hell, darlin. I don't have much that I want to do right now. I'm even confused about what I want to BE right now. What if I'm right? What if I'm like those guys? Or what if I'm turning into one of those guys? The first one... he said something about not surviving long enough to become like him." "So I figured I would tell you this before I lost what little conscience I have. I want you to be happy, even if it's with that self-mutilating son of a--" He stopped, not able to finish the lie that was on his lips. He stood, stretching. "So I guess this is my way of saying goodbye, darlin." Ruya Ruya felt even more sick to her stomach than she had earlier. She sat up and pulled her knees up to her chest. "Don't go?" She pleaded. She didn't have anything to say, nothing had changed, but she didn't want this to be it. "I still owe you a debt. I promised you I would do anything when you helped me with the bug." It was a stupid, desperate, last ditch effort to get him to stay for just a little bit longer. Silva He stopped, looking at her for a second. "Darlin, I can't hold you to that. Not if I want to save you from me." He sighed, stepping out of the shadows into the moonlight. "But I guess I owe you for that 'important' comment." He waited patiently for her to go get her rapier. "You can punch me if you want." He shrugged, feeling naked for the first time in his life, not that he had ever worn clothes. Ruya Ruya turned her head as she saw motion and smiled sadly at him. She stayed where she was, hugging her knees to her chest with one arm. "I don't really feel like hurting you." She shrugged. "I don't even know what to say to you. I still care about you and I don't want you to become some sort of cold blooded killer." She blinked slowly at him, her exhaustion catching up with her. "If it really has to be goodbye, can you just stay until morning? Sleep with me?" Silva He blinked, his jaw dropping slightly at her question, the toothpick threatening to fall out. Sleep with her? He doubted it meant the same thing to her that it meant in his favorite comic books, but-- He stopped, warring with himself as he tried to come up with a reply. If he stayed he would want to touch her... if he touched her he wouldn't be able to go back. "Darlin..." He started out, trying to come up with a reply. "I... Can't. If I stay then I'll want to touch, and if I touch... well..." He gave her a crooked smirk. "Then I wouldn't be able to say 'Fine' the next time you wanted to dump me. That just blows the 'saving you' bit to hell and back." He scowled, not liking that answer any more then he thought she would. "But..." He muttered, hating this decision even as he made it. "You can keep this." He pulled his chain off, handing it to her. "For the night." He grabbed the blade hanging from it, not wanting to give up ALL of his self-defense. Ruya Ruya frowned and started to cry, tears just slipping out. "I don't want you to save me. Silva, this sucks. Watching you leave, knowing you might not ever come back, it makes me feel like someone just reached in and ripped out my insides." She shook her head and sniffled, wiping her tears away with the back of her arm. "I want you to stay with me tonight. And... and..." She faltered and then looked up at him. "I'll beg if you want me to," she said it softly, feeling ashamed to even offer. Silva He scowled, the tears bothering him. If it was anyone else... ANYONE... He took a step forward, dropping the hand holding the chain and looking at her for a second. "Why in the hell do you, of all people..." He muttered, in that instant close to hating her for the power it seemed she had. "Why, dammit? The first time I TRY to give a s**t about someone else... the first time I put what I want second..." He glared at her. "And you do THIS to me." He shoved his chain into her hand, glaring into her eyes for a second before looking away. "I didn't say you could keep it, darlin. I just said you could borrow it. For now." He stepped back, fighting himself. "I'll be back for it. That chain means a lot to me, after all." He felt pure hatred for himself, for this weakness. For the fact that all he really wanted to do was curl around her and never let go. With that he melted into the shadows once again. "I'll be back, dammit. I can't seem to help myself." Ruya Ruya took the chain and sighed. She draped it over her shoulders and then watched as Rishi climbed the steps. "Thanks for waiting," she said in a subdued voice and stood so she could bring him back inside.

This hero bullshit? It wasn't working for him. He scowled, jumping his rope as he thought about his dilemma. It wasn't that he wasn't trying... it was just that his damsel in distress wasn't cooperating. He had gotten better at jumping so he had upped the speed to his maximum. He hoped to get faster after doing that for a while.
But back to the hero concept. He wasn't a hero type, actually, and who knew that better than him? HE was supposed to be the b*****d people wanted to save the innocent girl from, not the one doing the saving! So what if the one he wanted to save her from was himself? Or was it his future self? He wasn't sure.
The door opened, revealing Ice carrying a sleepy looking Jade. She put the little girl on the bed, about to drop down next to her for a nap, only to stop and walk over to Silva instead.
"What." He muttered, still jumping.
"You seem... a little down, babe. Want to talk about it?" She dropped down on the hope chest that sat in front of the window, making herself comfortable.
"No."
"That's okay." She said, leaning back against the wall next to the window. "We can talk about something else. This is break time, after all." She looked so calm, he thought, scowling. He stopped, tossing the rope aside and heading for his bottle cap.
"You ever have a guy, Ice?"
"..." She paused. thinking about this question. "You went to Masquerade, right?"
"... what's that got to do with anything?"
"It's a different dimension, babe. There are a lot of others. And in each... well, some of those dimensions, there are other versions of me. Some of them have found a guy. Some of them haven't. It doesn't really matter, actually. I don't mind it either way. I'm just as happy alone--"
"In other words no." He replied, scowling. "It figures."
"Why does it figure?"
"You're not as screwed up in the head as--" He stopped, shrugging. "Some people are."
Ice blinked, trying not to laugh. "Just because I don't have a guy doesn't mean I don't have issues, babe. It just means I don't have someone else's to deal with on top of my own." She shrugged. "I'm selfish like that. Besides, I know what I'm looking for, and I'm just too damn picky to put up with someone that's not that."
"You put up with me." He muttered, pouring the bottlecap of water over his head.
"You're my bond. Of course I'll put up with you." She shrugged. "But you don't expect much out of me. You let me write when I want to write, talk when I want to talk. Course, you never pay attention, but... that's not the same thing that happens in a relationship."
"So you prefer that I don't spend all my time trying to 'Share.'" He stated, trying to figure this out. "Then why the hell is it that Ruya expects me to?" He finally demanded. "And I FINALLY go over to tell her what happened when I went through the door and she yelled at me because--"
"You're an idiot?" Ice offered.
He glared at her. "That's not the point. The point is I finally 'Shared' with her and she spent the entire night yelling at me because I waited to tell her it until after she had dumped me."
"Wait... she dumped you? Ooh, Silva!" He snorted, realizing that she looked close to tears for some reason. "Are you okay? Do you need anything? Something to cheer you up?"
"I'll get back to you on that. But I was TRYING to say that she spends the entire time I'm telling her yelling at me. THEN she invites me to stay over--"
"Did you? You couldn't have, you showed up--" She stopped, flushing as he just glared at her.
"NO! Because, if you would let me finish the damn story, I don't want her to like me anymore." He nodded, as if his point had been made.
"... why not?"
"Because I'm a cold-blooded b*****d, just like the guys I met when I went through the door." He muttered, flushing slightly because he had to explain.
"... guy... s?" Ice stared at him. "How many times did you GO through the door, Silva?"
"... Twice." He muttered, not looking at her.
"And the second time. Where did you go?" She sounded as if she already knew. "Was it a dark room with a fan?"
"Mighta been." The fist that slammed down on the windowsill inches away from him had him almost jumping out of his skin.
"YOU MET SNAKE?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" She shouted, making his jaw drop in shock. "You IDIOT! You could have been KILLED!"
"Look, it's over and I'm still alive. Let it die already." He scowled, flushing slightly. "You're worse then Ruya."
"That's only because Ruya doesn't have a clue about how Snake is a psychopath! And what was that comment about being like him?"
"You saying I'm not?"
"Oh, puh--lease. You don't even COMPARE to Snake. You're more like Boss any day."
"... Who?"
"I'll introduce you someday, but go on."
He crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at her. "I don't want to."
"All right, I'll introduce you to him, but only AFTER you tell me the rest of this."
He scowled, but wanted to meet this guy she was talking about for some reason. Maybe... "Well I told her about that, and told her why I didn't mind being dumped--"
"But you did."
"Whose story is this, yours or mine?" He muttered, irritated. "And that she could go out with the orange b*****d, Neruo--"
"I've met him! He's a nice g-- I mean a real jackass."
"Thank you."
"No problem." She was shocked that he was being so talkative, then she realized... he was still recovering from his brush with death. That always tended to make people more chatty. "Then she asked you to stay over?"
"AFTER I told her that I didn't want her to deal with a cold-blooded--" He glared as she snorted. "b*****d like myself. And that I was saving her from myself." His face turned redder as she burst into laughter. "It ain't funny."
"But Babe... Snake was BORN that way."
"Wh-what?"
"Yeah, he was a killer in kindergarten. I think the Hunters might have been messing with gene doping at the time. He could very well have snake genes in his DNA."
"You're serious."
"Dead serious." She replied. "It explains his immunity to poison, too. So that one's out. Now tell me about the other guy you met."
"I didn't catch his name, but he killed a gigantic cat on Masquerade. He was a real d**k, actually." He stopped, waiting for her to toss that theory as well.
"..." She said nothing, frowning slightly. "Maybe we should go meet Boss now."
"What aren't you telling me?" He demanded.
"I'm not telling you that every person is different in each dimension. Different decisions made, different backgrounds, and even different situations make the person completely unique, no matter how many of him or her there are. In other words you aren't like them. You'll never BE like them."
"Yeah? What makes you so sure?"
"Because you're bonded to me, babe. And the biggest traumas of your childhood have been going through a door and getting a bath."
"And getting shot at."
"Now that was your own darn fault."
"You're so caring." He drawled, earning a bright grin.
"I am, aren't I?"
He rolled his eyes.
