The rabbit cried out again as its leg is bitten into again, but its leg still would not come off. The others continued to wail in pain as their fur became soaked in their own blood.

Sheik redoubled his efforts and tried again to tear at the leg, tension making his movements jerky. There wasn't much time left for the other rabbits and he wasn't going fast enough. It was this last one that was causing him all the trouble...

The rabbit flailed about and shrieked once more as the leg finally came off all the way. All three writhed, twitched, and screamed as their hind legs all now remained as bloody stumps. All that was left now was to bring them back to Boethiah while keeping them alive.

It was time for the final sprint. Sheik took the two most injured ones in his jaws and barely managed to keep their gore-slicked bodies stable. He sprinted into the dark open mouth of the cave with his two and didn't even wait to see what Boehthiah would say when he dropped them off. He had to use every instant of time he had to run now.
He bolted back to the cave entrance and towards his last rabbit, stray rocks from the cave digging and cutting into his paws in his haste.

The two rabbits put up no struggle as they were carried over to Boethiah's dark cave. With the darkness surrounding them, they almost thought that they had already died right then and there, but the pain was too obvious for them for that to even be true.
"Two down... one to go..."
These words seem to echo out of the cave as Sheik sprinted out to fetch the final creature.

Sheik stumbled in with the last rabbit, blood dripping from the rabbit in his jaws. Behind him was a trail of red pawprints, his own and the rabbits' blood mixing in the steps. His usually pristine clothing was a mess of red splotches that stained deeply in the white wrapping. His bangs hung stiffly by his face, already drying and crusting over.
He dropped the last rabbit with the other two and gave Boethiah a look, indecipherable though dark as the cave that they stood in. "I have completed your quest and have come for my reward."

Boethiah grinned darkly as he stared at the three writhing forms before him. The stench of blood reeked throughout his dank cave, and but what pleased him more was that Sheik too smelled strongly of the bloody scent. With a sinister laugh, he stepped forth and dropped an item at the other's feet.
"Well done, well done. You look as if you've enjoyed this little task of mine," he said mockingly, "You've proved your worth, so here is what you have come here for. Take it and leave me to my meal..."
Glancing at the three rabbits, he wondered if he could do anything more to them that would be entertaining to himself.

Sheik took the anklet in his teeth and didn't say another word to Boethiah before leaving the cave. He had nothing to say. He had come here with a request and he had done what was asked of him. It had been entirely his actions and no one forced him.
When he left the cave he saw the six destroyed legs of the rabbits lying on the ground before him. He had promised himself he wouldn't waste the meat and he wouldn't. He needed something to eat after that exertion and the rabbits didn't deserve to be wasted. He leaned down over them and took the first one into his mouth, remembering how it had felt when it was still kicking and alive.
It hadn't been worth it for the rabbit and he could only hope it would end up being worth it for himself one day.
